Excellent budget option close to the shopping area

It was looking like a one night stand place. Not clean. Shower head didnt work, air condiotener could not heat. There is a heater in the window side wall but it has not enough power to heat the room. Blanket was a too tiny.

The place was runned down, the AC barely worked and the bathroom was bad, had to take a shower kneeling down.

The rooms are very cold and full of insects

The room was very cold and when I protested, they said that they would turn it on from December and room 206 was full of mosquitoes, so I changed my room. I recommend that if someone chooses this hotel, bring a heater and insecticide.

The bed was uncomfortable, the cleanliness wasn’t the best, the elevator was vibrating like a plane with turbulence so it did feel a little unsafe. Staff service was average - limited interaction though. Check in was super quick and easy. Overall I was expecting a bit more compared to other hotels in Instabul and in this area.

Property is not maintained, mattress and pillows are dirty. Don’t waste your money. Location is convenient and close to taksim square.

El staff es lo mejor que tiene el hotel, son super amables y colaboradores y lo segundo es la distancia caminando a Taksim son al menos 10 min, no es un hotel de lujo pero la relacion calidad-precio es correcta, se siente un olor a cigarro, pero creo que eso es en general en toda la ciudad, tambien no hacen desayuno… recomiendo el hotel mi estadia fue muy buena.

Me quede varias noches en el hotel, alargamos la estadia.

Good overall , just needs some maintenance in the bathroom and better lighting possibly but overall staff was great and easy to get to places walkable distance !

The place was good and staff was helpful and supportive. Hotel is 5 minutes away from taksim meydan, where you can find all the transportation facilities.Overalls the place is great and i will book again in this place in my future trip.

My Observation

Very small hotel with only a few rooms. In the Old Section of Istanbul close to eating. No TV Very Small Bathroom & shower is built for small people. Reception Desk guys always there and helpful. Owner there everyday and super nice. If your the Venturous type and like great price and don’t mind low end comforts it’s for you.

a bit away from the center, rooms are very narrow , the booked room was not the one i stayed in...service is not that good...not gonna stay in it again.

Best hotel. Just be careful during night. The neighborhood very weird l. Its Taqsem you know. Alote prostitution and night clubs

It’s a moderate place to stay especially for the price and this time of the year, fairly good and comfortable but don’t expect a more than average accommodation. In general it’s clean for its price as well. It was a pleasant stay.

Eyup was really accomodating. He lent us his metro card for us to use to go to Sultanahmet area.

Place,staff were good, friendly. Room was good and clean. No Big lubby, not place for family with kids. Small place, but close to Isteklal CD, Taksim Meydan,shopping place, coffee shop,... Ayup was kind and professional person at reception.

Excellent Stay

I'd definitely recommend Retropera Hotel. I really enjoyed my stay there. My room had everything one would need - kettle, hair dryer, tea/coffee, etc. The bathroom had complimentary shampoo and soap, which was also a very nice touch. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is less than a 5 minute walk to Taksim Square. I will stay here again when I visit İstanbul in the future.

Liked: - my own room with enough space. - cozy bed. - Very convenient for transportation, very close to airport shuttle and taksim sqaure Disliked: - Very dirty room specially the shower. Black mold. They don't clean every day (which is ok) but if you do cleaning once do it properly. - TV was not working. I asked staff and he said: "if you have a tablet, you can use it". TV should work in a hotel - The area is a bit unsafe at night.

Great location

This was my second stay at this hotel, this year. I like it for the sake of its location. It's convenient for buses and the metro and a short F1 trip to get to Kabataş port. Only point to note, the towels need to be replaced. They're worn and stained. Apart from that a good stay.

Great Taksim Hotel

Great last-minute find in Taksim. Nice view from the balcony. Great pressure in the shower and a fridge that worked well. All I needed.

Nice and clean rooms. We got the room with the balcony, it is personally only for your use however there is no nice view, it’s just a view of other buildings next you the hotel that are hold and broken. There is a cleaner that came to clean our room 1 time in the 4 days we stayed. There is no food or room service in this hotel! They don’t provide anything but the room for you to sleep the night in however the location is in the middle of the center which was great for shopping and food

The room was clean an quite big and included a kettle an tea/sugar. It was ideally located an is a few very easy roads to get to Taksim square in about 5 mins. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Amazing hotel with nice staff

Stay was very comfortable and relaxing. Hotel is very close to famous Taksim Square and Istiklal Street which can be reached in 10mins walk. Would recommend this hotel is you are traveling to Istanbul

Worst experience ever

Unfortunately, its a very supbar hotel-apartment which has almost nothing in common with the photos they have posted. Light bulbs were out, drainage was clogged, the whole place was filthy like I have never seen as such before. Once we asked the maintenance to fix these issues they were like it is normal. Tugba (she was claiming to be the manager) was no help at all and it is what is is and I have to deal with it. Reached out to customer service and they said they won't refund me even if I leave. Worst experience ever. No way on Earth that I come back to this place ever again.

Room was clean and lady at the reception was kind. However, at the time we were trying to sleep late in the night, we heard a lady screaming and making a lot of noise inside the hotel with her friends. It was 1.30 a.m in the night and probably she was drunk. She was handled by the hotel staff after 20 to 25 mins.

Solid choice at great price

Retropera was a great stay at an unbeatable price very close to Taksim. The rooms were simple and clean and had everything that we needed to be comfortable. Front desk staff was very friendly and was willing to help in any way that they could. Our room had a fridge and air conditioning that helped a lot on a couple hot days that we had in Istanbul. Overall, it is not anything flashy but for the price it was better than anticipated!

We stayed here for 6 days and I was satisfied with all the things. Hotel was very near to taksim square, you can find great food there plus metro station stop is very near to taksim square. Thanks to Mustafa and staff for making our stay memorable.

아주 좋은 위치와 너무나도 친절한 서비스에 행복했습니다. 탁심광장과 가까우면서도 조용한 위치에 있습니다. 샤워기도, 침대도 너무 좋았습니다.

Odaların biraz elden geçmesi lazım, yataklar çok eski ve kirli. Çarşaflar temizdi ama yatak görününce mide bulandırıcı oluyor. Pencereler, prizler, su giderleri vs hep sorunlu. Bakım yapılması gerekiyor. Otelin arka tarafına bakan odalar çok gürültülü, ön kısımlar daha sessiz.

Contraté habitación contigua para 2 adultos y 2 adolescentes y sólo era una habitación k sillón cama era de 60 y se clavaban los hierros. La ducha muy sucia y con muchas humedades, sólo estaba el tornillo de un portarrollos de WC, los tornillos de unas perchas que no estaban. No limpiaban ni hacían la habitación . En el aire acondicionado había una manta de polvo. Vamos, nada que ver con lo que contraté, por lo que me siento estafado!!! Menos un chico,que nos hizo el cheking, que estaba por las mañanas, era lo único que se salva de ese antro, los otros ni te miraban.

Gute Unterkunft für diejenigen die Istanbul bereisen möchte und nicht viel wert auf das Hotel legen. Das Hotel bietet alles was man braucht. Eine sehr nette und hilfsbereite Rezeption. Ein gemütliches Bett mit recht ausreichendem Badezimmer. Die Umgebung ist top. Zu Fuß kann man vieles erreichen (Taksim Platz, Metro etc.) Preislich top. Einziger schlechter Punkt ist das Badezimmer mit dem Abfluss welches nicht durchgängig läuft sondern oftmals Sich stopft. Aber ansonsten fürs schlafen und duschen ein top Hotel. Gerne wieder

Best hotel in Taksim

Good hotel with great receptionists, especially Eyyup who always willingly offered help everytime I wanted to explore the city or when i wanted to order food. My room had a terasse with a nice view of the neighbourhood.

Taksime çok yakın klima var temiz sessiz bir otel. Ben bir eğitime katılım için yakınlığı dolayısıyla tercih ettim. Eşimle iki gece kaldım. Karşılamaları saygılı. Temiz bir otel. Teşekkür ederim.

Accomodatie bevind zich vlak bij Taximplein, veel hotels en restaurants rondom de lokatie. Klein hotel, vriendelijk personeel, betaalbaar, douche met een goede straal water. Enige nadeel voor mij was dat de bedden slechts 190 cm lang zijn, voor iemand van 2 meter lang is dat niet prettig.
