Beautifully renovated historic building in the heart of old town Trapani. Great rooms and great service, breakfast is served on the 4 th floor with a stunning sea view.

Great Hotel

Everything was great. The only unfortunate thing is the immediate blighted building next to the hotel which makes the neighborhood look bad! Not that the hotel could do anything about it.

We liked everything except that two different front desk staff gave us directions to the gondola up the mountain but had no idea it was closed for scheduled repairs for two months. So we wasted a lot of time.

Nice property. Surroundings are a bit unrefined.

Very nice stay at La Gancia. The property is very well kept. Breakfast is really good and the staff is wonderful- keep up the good work.

We had a very nice stay in Residence La Gancia. Great location in Trapani. The room was clean and spacious, and, of course, breakfasts on the terrace with the sea view were very memorable. Thank you!

Good service and location but not enough...

The location of the hotel is perfect. Staff was very kind and helpful. Checkin was smooth though the hotel and the rooms are not renovated and the building seems to be converted from an historical building that was use for other purposes. There was a well covered with glass at the entrance and made us disgusted to see the trash at the bottom and have no idea why they left if visible. I guess they were trying to bring a designer touch. Our room did not have a sea view if it was our experience would be better without the view of a dark courtyard. The city is cute though with nice dining options close by and easy access to the lungomare and also easy to get to with car. Breakfast is served at a nice terrace and had many options compared to the standard italian breakfast options

Amazing location in Trapani!

The residence was amazing and let us have an amazing staying in Trapani. I really enjoyed the central location, the size of the room and the view from the room. The property is in an amazing remodeled and historical building, super clean and with an incredible terrace for breakfast where you can see whole Trapani from the top. The location is walking distance from everything and this is amazing especially during the weekends, you walk downstair and you are already in the center of the night life actions. We were there for a weekend and the experience was amazing. Definitely suggested!

Staff are very friendly. Room was adequate. Decor is modern and good shower. No shore gel or wash cloths provided. The A/C a bit weak by the third day of our stay. The breakfast was great! Delicious fresh fruit and pastries.

Staff was welcoming, friendly, helpful and available. Room is a bit dated, but clean. Trip to Erice by cable car was worth the stop in Trapani. Historic area of Trapani is walkable and we enjoyed walking along the Mediterranean Sea right outside the hotel door.

Great stay in Trapani!

We loved our stay! The hotel is perfectly located, within walking distance of all the beaches, sights, bars and restaurants and only a short walk from the ferry terminal. Our room was a lot bigger than we expected and very comfortable. The hotel and all of the staff were great. We loved the view from the rooftop and had cocktails there a couple of evenings. Breakfast was also served from the rooftop dining room, however we weren’t made aware that this was included in our booking until the 3rd night. The breakfast was good, with a large variety of sweet and savoury products. It’s best to arrive for breakfast early as a lot of items ran out quickly. The hotel has a well equipped gym however it was too warm to use it. Overall a great stay and we’d love to return!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large with kitchen and table that could seat four. Nice breakfast is offered on the top floor either inside or on the terrace. Close t everything and easy parking on the street or nearby lot.

Hotel is a great location.

We loved our location in their apartment section, which included a balcony. We faced the water and there was no obstructing view. It was especially beautiful in the evening with the reflexion of the lights around the harbour.

We enjoyed our stay, the hotel and room was spectacular! Even had special glass floor panels to dislay historical elements that were the original structure. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Rooftop had great views for an evening cocktail. Cant wait to go back!

Loved everything about it!!!

The front desk staff was so incredibly warm and helpful. They let us know about available parking nearby. Our room was stunning and so cool that it was a monastery in the past! The floors were partially glass with Sicilian salt in the floor. Our view was beautiful. This was my son's favorite hotel in all of Italy. Easy walking distance to the marina. The breakfast was so good and the view was phenomenal from the bar/terrace area. Such a cool hotel with a beautiful room and the women who helped us with check in and directions were the absolute kindest. We Loved Trapani and I definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely stay

This was our first visit to Sicily and our first two nights were in Trapani. Cute town. The hotel is situated right near the ocean and our room had a partial view. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Excellent staff

Excellent staff and check in instructions. Offsite parking transportation was easy and efficient. Very clean room and bathroom with elevator for luggage transit. Rooftop bar and restaurant was a real plus with good breakfast options with a view.

Great location. The breakfast room overlooks the sea. Staff is very nice. Surprising large room.

One of the more beautiful and interesting hotel rooms we have stayed in. The floor was partly plexiglass, revealing the stone from the monastery which once occupied the site. Breakfast was excellent too.

The place to be in Trapani

Even though there was some confusion about our room change, they handled it well and our stay was very pleasant! Very well located, very clean, spectacular breakfast and breakfast views, close parking, beautiful design and friendly staff!

Fantastic hotel in a the heart of the city. Close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Very quick check in, the lady informed us of the area, restaurant. She even gave us the €2 for the on-street parking, we did pay her back the next day when we had change. The hotel has a roof top breakfast room with stunning views and the breakfast was plenty. Highly recommend this hotel and I’ve no hesitation in recommending staying in Trapani.

The facility was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. it was one of the best places I stayed on my three week trip across Italy.

The best choice in Trapani

The place is fantastic. The most beautiful sunset view you can have in Trapani, while drinking something nice in their lovely terrace. Also the rest of the atmosphere of the place is great. Clean and comfortable. A great breakfast. An absolute excellence.

The location is super!!! The view is truly amazing. I strongly suggest to have breakfast there or have an evening drink to enjoy the view. My husband and I went up multiple times. The staff are very helpful. Although there’s no on-site parking, within 10 mins distance, there’s a lot where you can do it $0.20 euro per hours. The staff suggested this parking and it’s easy to find. If I return, I would like to stay at same location. Very clean property and all staff masked up.

Fabulous roof terrace

Clean room, comfy beds, although the room wasn't as beautiful as in the pictures. Some small details missing such as the free bottled water in the room that wasn't there, sky tv that didn't work and no extra coffee pods available on the second night but excellent value overall. What you are really paying for is the fabulous roof terrace where you have breakfast (good buffet and coffee) and sundowner drinks.

Do not stay here

Just a few hours before our flight to Sicily, I received an email that the room I prepaid for was not available. The email offered to put me in a lessor hotel that they own down the street or they can cancel my reservation leaving me with no other place to stay and no time to research another place before my flight. I took the lesser hotel because I had no choice. This is called a bait and switch. The lessor hotel had a bar outside with loud people and loud music into the late evening. I prepaid to have the buffet breakfast on the top floor of the hotel for each day of my stay. I was told after I arrived that they would only have the buffet breakfast for the first day and I would need to eat in the corner bar for the second morning. Not having the buffet breakfast that I prepaid for is another example of a bait and switch. For the 2 days that I stayed in their lesser hotel, nobody wore a mask due to the government policy changes but some rude employee harassed me and asked me to wear a mask just to check out. Nobody else except him was wearing a mask but he felt the need to harass me. He had a coworker sitting directly next to him who was not wearing a mask when he harassed me. If this hotel wants to make everybody wear a mask, that is their business but be consistent. If however no employee or customer except this rude employee is going to wear a mask, then do not harass me about it. Between the rude employee and the two bait and switches, Do not stay here.

We were extremely happy with our beautiful apartment and its locstion in the old town.

Great location for walking on the sea shore as well as the old town. Near restaurants. Lively even in winter yet the rooms are quiet. Getting there by car and parking is somewhat challenging but this is to be expected if you want to stay in the center. A very pleasant stay overall.

I rarely write reviews, but am posting about our fantastic experience in Trapani. This hotel is all about location, location, location, cleanliness - and the amazing staff. From our welcome from Andrea, who is a wealth of knowledge, and who directed us to safe street parking a stone’s throw from the hotel for 10 cents an hour, with great restaurant recommendations - this hotel is quite amazing with professional courtesy and discretion. Our corner room with floor to ceiling windows was amazing - and one of the only places in Sicily with a workable hotel gym. You will Trapani with its European sophistication and style - amazing food, of course, it’s Sicily - with real Arabic influences still alive - it’s really the only place in Sicily with such a pronounced cultural fusion. Comfort in the heart of Trapani

This lovely hotel is in the heart of Trapani old town yet right by the sea. The stylish old building houses spacious and very comfortable rooms. We had the best sleep on luxurious mattresses and cloud-soft pillows. The toiletries smell utterly divine. A small bottle of water was provided for each guest, ever day of the stay. Check-in was straightforward and the staff were always pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of choice, but the current restrictions mean that you can't serve yourself, so you have to give your order to the waiting staff. On departure, there was an oversight in relation to our request to book a taxi transfer, but this was rectified without too much stress.

Great hotel and people, amazing location

Very kind and attentive staff at reception and breakfast area. We had an exceptional issue with cleanliness but the reception staff dealt with it very quickly, upgraded us and offered us a discount and prosecco bottle for the inconvenience encountered. arking was easy, at least in winter. Not far from Erice and the salt ponds. Stay very comfortable and staff was friendly.

Lovely location on the sea wall and just off the main pedestrian areas. Very nice hotel, large rooms, good breakfast on the rooftop, complimentary Prosecco welcome. I can't say enough about the staff - especially the front desk. They were so helpful and provided excellent recommendations!

We chose a junior suite with a great price and were thrilled with our suite. 3 Juliet balconies, great views, large and comfortable. Fabulous location being on the sea wall, close to public parking and lots of restaurants. Staff are great too. d highly recommend.

Worth the value, definitely a rare gem!

The service is amazing - very impressed by how the receptionist took the time to give us an overview of the hotel, parking situation, nearby good restaurants and took us to our rooms personally. This place is a rare gem - well worth the price and the roo we stayed in was exceptionally spacious with thoughtful touches like fresh roses and bottled water in the fridge for the guests. They also provided us with vouchers for welcome drinks at their rooftop bar which I thought was quite nice. Definitely will recommend!

This is a charming place to stay in a charming town (at least the old historic core where La Gancia is). We were able to park on the street near the hotel for 11€ a day. This is a small property with a great position over looking the water. All the staff were great. If we were ever back in Trapani we would stay here absolutely. While our room was great we would opt to pay up for a a larger one the next time.

The location is right in the heart of the major shops and restaurants. The accommodations were very comfortable. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE. Do not miss it. Last but not least, the roof top terrace was spectacular.what else can we say. Joel & Jackie Miami

Was given a nice room but with limited non seaside view. Good breakfast.

All the staff were so very polite friendly and courteous and professional. The roof top view for breakfast and evening cocktails was fantastic.

Gorgeous staff at 4F terrace named Juicy. Beautiful sunset and can't missed out. Room is spacious and great but air conditioner was malfunctioning and once turn on the button, it will keep create annoying noise all night long. But I can't resist the heat from outside.

Exemplary stay - from the moment we checked in, we were warmly welcomed, given great recommendations on where to park, restaurant recommendations and help with reservations, and even a towel to go to the free beach right outside the door. Shower head can be adjusted to be a rain shower, and there is a good makeup mirror. Well equipped with good espresso machine and nice toiletries. While there may be nicer apartment-hotels, the fantastic location near to the beach and on the main restaurant/shopping strip, along with great client service akin to almost a concierge, makes this hotel a great place to stay - wholeheartedly recommend.

Great location, very nice property, but shower area had mold at basin that was not cleaned during our four night stay. Large room with kitchen area. Did not get restocked with coffee after the first day.

Amazing staff!

A great homely place to stay in the old town.

This is a 4 star hotel in the old town of Trapani. Breakfast is served in the Breakfast room on the top floor of the hotel, with beautiful views over the sea. the hotel is very clean and the staff are lovely and friendly. The recommendations for restaurants and other places of interest that we asked about were all very good indeed. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Trapani and would stay at La Gancia again. getting from Palermo airport to Trapani was straight forward enough. We took the Segesta bus from outside the terminal, this runs on the hour in Summer. Tickets are purchased inside the terminal and given to the driver on board. If required the hotel will send a car to pick you up from the airport. This would cost €90, the bus fare costs €9 per person. The journey takes approx. 1 hour 45 minutes from Palermo airport to Trapani.

Central Hotel

Nice central hotel. Lots of restaurants and bars around. Friendly staff. Sea view from small rooftop bar. It is quite expensive though for what you actually get. Very hard to initially find. Breakfast not included and not very good even when you pay for it. Free parking 10 mins walk away. Nothing in the hotel seems to be as big as shown in the photographs. I was disappointed as paid for a superior room that included a day bed and sea view, but got a twin room with a view of the square with the sea beyond. The nearby beach was manky and covered in thick, old seaweed when we were there in August. A cleaner small beach with sheltered water for swimming is 10 mins walk away though. We wish that we had just stayed 2 nights in Trapani whilst travelling around.

Our stay was pure perfection! Nino and Alura greeted us with a smile and from the second we walked in, made us feel so welcome. Our room was super clean. I would not stay anywhere else in Trapani. The location is quiet and private. Views are breathtaking. Love this place, I will definitely return.

Pleasant surprise!!

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel and surrounding area was. Built into the rock, this place has a history. A bit hard to find but we found that to be true all throughout Sicily. You need GPS!

Fantastic property with beautiful views

Really lovely converted residence with spacious suites and fantastic views from the terrace bar. Lovely and helpful staff. Nothing is a problem.

Beautiful remodeled monastery- very quiet and comf

Problem is parking. Free city lot is rapid 15 minute walk but free lance people collect protection fee, several euro’s or you car ‘might get damaged’. Free cost us 12 euro’s for 3 nights.

Above & Beyond experience!

We loved it! What a perfect location for this town - walkable to everything! Loved the design asthetic of the hotel combining its historic structure with contemporary touches. Very unique, we will be back!

Trapani by the Sea

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel La Gancia. The room was very comfortable and modern. And we especially appreciated our glass of prosecco on the roof top deck with a spectacular view of the sea. The hotel was very well situated near the historic section of Trapani and the staff were very helpful with directions and recommendations for dinner.

Stay here when in Tripani!

We really enjoyed our stay at Residence La Grancia. The customer experience was outstanding and the location could not have been more central! (I especially liked the fact that they had a candy jar at the front desk that was available 24-7!) The room was comfortable. My only complaint is that the wi-fi was very slow

Good quality room and surroundings. Convenient for city centre and sea-side. Lovely view for breakfast with amazing OJ! Nice touches with free tea and coffee in bedroom which is rare in Italy! Even free water.

Wonderful Hotel, Great Location, and Helpful Staff

We stayed at La Gancia for two nights, and we loved our stay there. The hotel is lovely; it overlooks the sea across the street; and a drink on the hotel roof bar at sunset or in the evening is magical. Breakfast is served on the roof too, and sitting in the sun, enjoying the sea breeze and a sumptuous breakfast is a lovely way to start the day. The street behind the hotel is filled with restaurants, and the hotel staff was very helpful in recommending several of them and making reservations for us, They also showed us on maps,rovided by the hotel, how to navigate the narrow one-way streets of Trapani to get to the cable car to Erice (a must to visit) and to the salt flats and windmills on the way to Marsala.
