Very nice
We really liked the property. Our room was spacious, clean and nice! We enjoyed the kitchen and convenient location to the highway. We just stayed 1 night with our dogs but really enjoyed the stay. Breakfast was as expected. Overall I would recommend! Thank you!
Only stayed one night and glad I did. Lots of amenities out of order or not up to what was advertised, breakfast was extremely limited. Staff was not very professional, Sheets were extremely thin and we were not offered any accommodation for winter weather.
The only thing I would complain about is there wasnt any extra toilet in room
Pool down, hot tub down, ice machine down. Place needs a serious update
It was clean
Don't book here
The hot tub was broken, the ice machine was broken, no milk at the breakfast bar, not waffle mix =. Just overall not enjoyable for us.
My room was okay the counters were sticky and still dirty, there wasn’t any soap in the body wash or conditioner also had a tiny bit of dish soap in the container. The pool was like ice and the hot tub was broken. Be aware that you have to pay for parking on top of your stay.
Disappointing
Friendly and professional staff Room smelled horrible! The dirty oven and the clogged kitchen sink were the culprits. Bed was hard. Furniture is worn out. Fireplace didn’t work. Overall disappointed. We have stayed here before but a LOT has changed.
They lack in basic amenities. The property had no supply of body wash, kitchen napkins and dish scrubs. The room was smelly, had unclean utensils, old torn n dusty window curtains, stick floors, dirty carpet with pet hair. It’s totally unhygienic. To top it, we need to pay for parking as well. I totally regret staying here. Till date, while booking a stay I never checked the reviews for Marriott group hotels but after this experience I will surely go through.. This property has degraded the standards.
We booked this stay to get away and relax for the holiday. One of the reasons we booked here was because there is an indoor pool and hot tub. But when we got there the pool and hot tub were out of order. It would have been nice to know this in advance so we could have stayed somewhere else with a pool instead of sitting in our room watching tv. We arrived on Christmas day and nothing was open. The coffee pot didn't work in the room. I reported it but no one got us a working one. The hotel allows service animals and a dog was in the room across the hall. He barked quite often day and night.
It’s an older hotel but nice. Very clean. There was no ice machine and the ice maker in the room didn’t work. Front desk did give us a large baggie of ice. Didn’t realize we had to pay to park to stay there.
Pretty good stay. ALERT: you must pay to park in the parking lot. $10 for 24 hours! On top of your room charge. No off street options. Room was clean, well appointed. All guests were quiet and respectful. Main floor Ice maker didn’t work, nor did our in room refrigerator ice maker. We arrived at 10:15pm and left the next morning at 6:30am so cannot give a review of the amenities. Slightly overpriced but overall safe and acceptable.
Nice
An ok place to stay
This hotel is by train tracks but was relatively quiet. The rooms are clean but a bit worn- the sink had a crack and the carpet was torn in one place,
Needs TLC
Many things were out of service. Hotel needs updating.
Charging for parking in Amarillo is unheard of.
I have never paid for parking in Amarillo. The checkin offered waiver of parking if signup for Marriot Loyalty program. The idea of charging for parking when there is plentiful parking in a city like Amarillo is not a good idea. The free waiver for parking delayed our checkin and getting into our room after a long day. Not a good way to treat guests in Amarillo.
Enjoyed our stay!
We enjoyed our stay, the hotel was clean, updated and enjoyed the breakfast every morning. We have stayed at most of the hotels in Amarillo and Residence Inn will be our preferred going forward.
Breakfasts were disappointing-cold coffee, out of milk and yogurt. Carpeting was worn and interior was tired looking.
Friendly staff
Not great
The staff was friendly but the hotel was pretty run down. The fireplace that was listed as an amenity was non functioning and the pull out couch was incredibly uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was lacking and the coffee was cold from the night before. Overall it was a place to rest our heads overnight but not one I’d want to stay in again. They are renovating so maybe it will be better after.
did not think staff was very friendly i ask to have my room cleaned at a certain time while maids were still cleaning Front desk told me i could change sheets myself
Perfect for a family!!
Upon arrival the woman at front desk was delightful and knowledgeable about the area and hotel. She recommended a wonderful locally owned restaurant that was perfect. Breakfast was equally as excellent On to New Orleans and hopefully another Marriott stay. Thank you, Nanc
Terrible, breakfast was terrible, fireplaces broken, pool broken, beds uncomfortable, no fresh toilet paper in rooms
We enjoyed our stay here. The property is dog friendly with a dog park. Breakfast was great. Thank you!
Residence Inn Marriott
Traveling from Colorado to Austin, convenient overnight stay at Residence Inn Suite Hotel. Suite with 2 bedrooms and separate living/dining area with kitchen. The hotel needs upgrading but adequate for our needs.
Great place to stay
Loved our spacious rooms & kitchenettes!
Easy to get to - simple and quiet atmosphere.
Very comfortable, clean, friendly staff adds up to an enjoyable experience.
Dissapointing pit stop
Our particular visit was dissapointing, We asked for a lower floor room or a room not to far away as we had our dog ($50) and a lot of luggage. The agent at check -in said there was nothing she could do , but gave me impression she did not even try ! Needless to say our room could not have been more inconvienent.
This was probably my worst stay at any place. The bed had bugs in it, it was very dirty from the time you walk into the hotel until you get into the room. The elevator makes an abundance amount of noise and is VERY hot. It stinks bad like old water throughout the entire hotel. If I could give this property 0 star I would.
Amarillo Residence Inn
Our go to overnight stay on the way to Colorado every year! Conveniently located, spacious rooms and kitchenette with separate bedrooms and living/dining area. Pet friendly! Lots of parking. Breakfast is good but needs to be monitored as many items were out such as utensils, cups, milk, hot foods such as eggs, breads, etc. so had to ask for it.
Thank you
Room
So glad they allow pets! Nice stay.
A complete disappointment for a bonvoy property. Definitely showing its age. Maintenance changing light bulbs over my breakfast completely unacceptable
Booked a Studio, it was the best room ever. Roomy with everything you need. Would not hesitate to book again, esp for multiple nights.
Ac did not work well in the room
Great place to stay
Family Recommended
Jami at the front desk was so friendly! Made you feel right at home! Breakfast staff was helpful and accommodating providing a GF option for our kiddo! Spa jets didn’t work and had a couple room cards stop working but cards were quickly fixed.
The property was very nice, easy access off I40 & plenty of parking. Was a little disappointed that the automatic front doors were not working so they had to be pushed open. Check in was easy & the room was clean & comfortable. Plenty of local restaurants to choose from & the free breakfast is a great touch for family's on the go.
Disappointed
Bed uncomfortable. Bathroom old and didn’t drain. Toilet didn’t flush. The noise from outside kept us away. Rooms need updating and remodeling.
Smell out side and the hot tub is not full working
The staff went above and beyond assisting us with our aging parent.
Just what we expect from Residence Inn
Don't let the clanky front doors deceive you. The hotel is actually quite nice. Rooms are large,
Great Suite hotel
Glad to find a hotel with 2 bedroom suites and a kitchen to cook in. Location is perfect off I-40. Pets allowed! Only complaint is the carpet needs to be replaced as there were several places where it was taped down to avoid tripping!!! Not safe!
Extremely friendly staff, very clean, recommend ashtray or cigarette butt disposal. Front entrance hard to locate. Read my previous review for more details.
Checking in was great! Christy who checked our rowdy family, myself included, was very friendly, welcoming & even shared in our laughter. The Hotel was very clean & offered plenty of conveniences. Trying to find the main entrance to this Hotel is not so easy. Very small entrance door from the parking lot. Our room was very clean both bedrooms had bathrooms that were stocked well. The pullout bed was not very comfortable. There was plenty of room for all 7 of us while visiting and slept 4 of us well. There should be some type of ashtray or cigarette disposal near the side entrance doors. The area around these doors are completely littered with cigarette butts everywhere. Having a smoking section with a few chairs maybe a table and a disposal for butts would make things a lot nicer. Otherwise great place.
Great place ask for room cleaning
The hotel is convenient and the staff were very friendly. The room was spacious. My only complaint was that they do not automatically clean your room - you have to request that they clean it. We did not know and expected the room to be cleaned. Just know to ask that your room be cleaned if you stay more than one night.
The bed was great. But the carpet had stains and was toren.
The staff are never at the desk. Keys must be reprogrammed multiple times per day. The 2 room suite had 1 small air conditioner that could not even cool down the bedroom. The kitchen/sitting room was about 100 degrees, the bedroom about 85 (with the small A/C running non-stop for 3 days. The cleaning staff were always friendly. The hotel should be embarrassed to have their name associated with this property. The fact that Residence Inn approves of this, shows their lack of concern for the clients. Should have been knocked down and replaced years ago.
Love that it was a two bedroom and two bathrooms
I stayed here several years ago with my husband and five kids and it was very clean and nice. We stayed here again because of that last experience, plus it’s one of few places with accommodations for large families. That said, I was very disappointed. The ac did not work. Staff knew, evidenced by the two boxed fans left for us. The fan in one of the bathrooms did not work. The desk was broken and made to look like it wasn’t. There were several other little things that all piled up to the realization this place is desperate for some attention and updates. We were able to stay in the room but if another hotel had a two room suite available I would have taken it.
Helpful staff Justine a winner!
Driving all day from Austin, we were ready for a stop. Residence Inn was easily accessible, near restaurants and good reviews. Our suite of 2 bedrooms, kitchen and living area was perfect for 3 adults and a german shepherd dog. Only issue was AC wasn't functioning properly. Called for service and Justine came immediately to check on the unit and offered alternative to move to 2 separate rooms if the AC didn't kick on. We decided not to move and Justine provided 2 portable fans. The fans helped along with open windows ; thankful it was cool outside! With fans circulating air, it became comfortable for the night. Next morning, manager on duty offered apologies and took off the pet fee ($50) for the AC issue...NICE!
It was nice. Had some dents in the fridge and one shower was missing handle
Pool and hot tub were not working. Side doors could not read room cards. Iverall, hotel not very clean.
The staff was amazing! The best customer service experience from a hotel that my family experience in a long time. The manager Christy was great. My son left his IPad in the hotel room and they kept for him until we could pick it up. Definitely will return to this hotel when we come back to Amarillo.
Would not recommend. This hotel is worn out, lots of furniture broken or had gauges. Shower was so old and disgusting I chose to forego a shower. Some dishes in the cupboard had food remnants. This was a pit stop for one night, but this hotel should not be associated with the Marriott brand.
Nice place to stay
The room (shower/tub) was extremely dirty with rusty tiles and ring around the tub. There was unrecognized stains on the bed covers, the sink was dirty and the couch had obvious spots and stain’s looked extremely worn down. The towels smelled of cigarette smoke. The outside door to the hotel was broken allowed outsiders to enter without a hotel key. Horrible place!!!
Fireplace is awesome
Loved this place. Perfect for a small family vacation!
I was given a key that did not unlock my assigned room. After notifying the front desk, I was given a key that worked. The key unlocked an occupied room. I was given a new room with a chirping fire detector and a pilot light that would not go out in the fireplace.
It was good stay
Only com
Quiet stay.
Hotel was in a good location. Furniture needs updating. Drawers in rooms had broken drawers. Latch in our room coming off. Missing screws and loose. Hotel was quiet.
Comfortable room and bed, very clean and well-kept.
Very clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating with our needs of traveling with multiple pets. Stayed in room with two bedrooms. Nice a roomy.
Convenient to shopping, restaurants. Luggage Cart falling apart, broken hottub, broken ice machine, toilet needs to be reseated, shelves at sink falling off wall, worn out carpet/flooring. Hotel not being properly maintained. Not worth the price!
Great for family and pets
Love staying here. It’s not the fanciest hotel, but it’s perfect for a small family and those traveling with pets. Stayed here before and will definitely choose this location again.
The price was great. Two bedroom two bathroom was perfect. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was on the weak side. Building is older but very clean. Beds were comfortable.
Clean and comfortable!
Wonderful! Think we have found our new favorite!
Couldn’t get extra towels. Mold on the ceiling in one bathroom. The breakfast was not good at all. Not stocked. Oatmeal was cold. Too much pre-packaged food. I can get that at a gas station. Very disappointed
We have stayed here before but this time the property seemed run down and maintenance lacked. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating with room rate I would hope they do some maintenance on the rooms but for sure keep the friendly staff. Even though there was some Maintenance issues it was clean to me and comfortable. We would give them another chance in the future.
Pretty run down. Needs updating for $170/night. Bath tub, doors, floor, vanity, wood surfaces, etc... They appear to be dirty, but upon further inspection, they're just old. Bed must be old too. Very uncomfortable. Justine was very friendly and helpful. I'll take a friendly and helpful staff over presentation, but we won't choose this hotel again based on price versus overall feel.
Fireplace did not work was filthy and obviously hadn’t even been dusted in quite awhile with cobwebs all over it. Room was less than clean. No hair dryer even after asking twice. Other than that all was well
The staff was very friendly!!!!
Old & cheap
Felt incredibly old and cheap compared to the other Residence Inns I normally stay at.
The 1 small thing that ALL hotels could do that would increase their ratings is (more) coffee and accessories. Hotel chains could spend a little more for half & half (thimbles) and a full pot of coffee, so patrons don't need the decaf packet for a "full bodied" cup of Joe. This is Merica, give us enough coffee to start our day! (opinion)
So far good except the facility is looking old.
The property was very nice and access was a breeze from the interstate. My only complaint is the bed. It is hard as a rock, all springs and extremely uncomfortable. This should be the best part of the stay not the worst.
Check-in was rough
Front desk at check-in was very frustrating! Lobby was full of people waiting to check-in around 7:30pm. I finally called to front desk number and when answered I informed her. She responded with a frustrated voice that she had been cleaning up dog poop and would be there when she finished. About 5 minutes later she showed up, no apology and noticed that something was turned over at the counter and asked if someone got angry and did that, didn’t matter because she had cameras and would find out. She had a very poor attitude and pretty much made it clear that she hated her job. Everything else was great but that was unpleasant.
Coffee maker didn’t work or the tv but overall nice staff
Loved the hotel and property but i paid through Expedia bit they still charged my card for stay. Haven't been trimmed yet
Not recommend
Not what we expected
We were fairly disappointed in the condition and cleanliness. We paid over $250 a night and when we opened the sleeper sofa there were dead moths and crumbs so you could tell it hadn’t been cleaned. The mattress pad was also stained. The sheets on our bed were also very wrinkled making us wonder if they’d been cleaned. The smell of chlorine in the pool area was overwhelming and the hot tub has a greenish hue. They did give us a 10% discount on our bill when we brought these things to their attention.
Overpriced dump
Sorely disappointed. Check in was was fine. We get the room and smell mildew. The carpet in the room had tape on it. The entry door's paint is so wore it looks like it was an outside door once. The pool was the biggest disappointment. The choline smell was so bad we could only stay for around 10 minutes. The hot tub water was green. The pool had several rust stains no stair entry.
I’m allergic to feather pillows and the front desk staff said they did not have any foam pillows. She eventually found 1 pillow. The tap water has an odd taste and you have to pay $1.50 per bottle for water. Finally I’m staying on the first floor and you can hear the guests upstairs. You can hear everything in the hallway too.
Some remodeling going on through the hotel, but still a well put together establishment.
The room was clean and adequate but the overall property inside and out was worn and not maintained very well. Especially the outside property needs improvement.
Paid $160 for a room that had a broken AC I had to move rooms and they wouldn’t offer any compensation.. that’s a lot of money to have to move rooms.
Excellent location. The hotel needs a full renovation...
Linens were dirty and had to go to reception to get new ones which we had to replace.
We waited at least 5 minutes for someone to show up to the front desk for check in. The breakfast selection was meager and sad. Maid service was non-existent. When we asked about this we were told we had to specifically request it due to COVID but of course had not been informed of this at checkin or at any other time. Our room was hot despite turning the air down as low as possible. The pool was nice and the staff were pleasant.
Bed was comfortable, spacious. There was an old water bottle under the sofa. Tub could use more cleaning.
ac didn’t work
Are room was so hot the ac didn’t work

It was clean with friendly, very helpful staff. I got there late and left early. I booked through Travelocity and the address was wrong. The GPS got me close, but I had to call the hotel to get the correct location.
