Great old town place
Great location in the center, close to bars, restaurants and parties. Lots of space in the room and a clean bathroom. Can be noisy for light sleepers and ain’t much room for people and luggage in the elevator.
Great location, geat value, clean spacious rooms, helpful staff. Main drawback is noise outside as its in the heart of the Old City.
Very convenient, you walk out front doors onto pedestrian walkway and choose from many restaurants available and shops.
location
The location of this hotel is amazing! Andreea provided wonderful service. If you are a light sleeper it may not be the best place for you as musicians are usually playing near the hotel until early in the morning. Breakfast was great with a variety of choices. Only thing that was a negative is the comfort of the beds. They were very firm causing us to wake up with backaches.
Large room, amazing location but...
It is right in old town which is honestly its best feature. it`s more like a bed and breakfast with dated but clean rooms. Everything felt and looked old. You can only get to your rooms with the bar. Value in NO WAY matches price
The Rembrandt is a very small hotel ,in an old building and has been given a new lease in life, very limited services, they are very helpful, almost a family feel about them. The best thing about this hotel is it is near the main road where taxi can stop as you have a short walk to the hotel. It is also situated just on the edge of all the restaurants in the old town which comes to life after 11AM every day and goes on till the small hours of the night, so it is not as noisy. The breakfast is excellent with a good choice of breads, fresh fruit and the coffee is excellent.
Excelent location - Very good value for cost
Everything and everyone were more than satisfactory. The only problem is the street's noice over the rooms facing there. But, in short, it was a wonderful stay of 4 nights in Bucharest's historic heart!
Clean and good location
Good location, nice rooms, not luxury but clean and comfortable.
Lovely Art Deco building in heart of Bucharest, great staff and service
Amazing location in the Old City
We drove two pairs of friends for a walk. The hotel is ideally located in the Old Town, next to the Caru Cu Bere Breakfast is reasonable and good. Nothing is missing. Listen ... very comfortable hotel in an ideal location. No doubt we will reach him again. Without a doubt. Enjoy
The hotel is set right in the heart of the old town, literally steps away from restaurants, bars and interesting sites. We usually choose small hotels as they have more character and we were not disappointed. The rooms are fully provided with everything you might need, including toiletries, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, mini fridge, dvd player etc. There are also dvds, games, etc to borrow if you wish. The fantastic continental breakfast is on the mezzanine floor of the cafe with views out onto the streets. We had a 'Tourist bedroom', No 14, which are apparently smaller however it was more than big enough. There was no city view from the window, but the positive of this was that we heard none of the noise that other guests seem to have had problems with. Our room was above the reception and we had no noise whatsoever. I imagine that the larger rooms have a better view, and therefore are more prone to suffering from any noise. The staff are very welcoming and polite and go out of their way to help with any enquiries. We will definitely book this lovely hotel again if we return to Bucharest.
Excellent hotel with a tasty breakfast bar and great staff. Perhaps the most walkable location in Bucharest.
Location, cleaness, breakfast buffet. Everything has been perfect.
Great location, bring earplugs
Amazing location, wonderful breakfast and staff. If you have a room on the streetside, however, you should be warned about the night club with incredibly loud music that will make sleep difficult.
Very comfortable and close to everything would stay again if traveling in the area
Overall we were more than happy with the hotel, however there is a roof top disco adjacent to the hotel and the constant deep base boom, boom from the music makes is very disturbing, this ceases between 11pm and midnight. The Rembrandt really needs to address this issue!!.
Good Location
Hotel is situated in the prime location, food quality and service is excellent, staff very polite and have good knowledge about customer service and are always ready to help If anything breakfast can be improved with few more varieties and not so many jars of jams and spreads however there is an option to buy English breakfast separately Over all good stay at a good price and would recommend if you have a average budget to spend and enjoy Bucharest
Convenient hotel in Old Town close to major sites
We spent four nights in Bucharest and filled our days quite easily by walking tours based at the hotel as all sites were in easy reach as well as cafes, bars, restaurants. Bar in the hotel was excellent too.
1 Night in Bucharest
We stayed 1 night on Sept 5th after returning from 3 nights in Constanta and a previous 3 nights in Bucharest so I am comparing the Rembrandt against two other Romanian hotels all of which were the same price. The Rembrandt staff were excellent as is the location. The breakfast was slightly more varied than the other 2. We had room 14 which was not up to the size nor quality of the other 2. The stairs were narrow, steep with a tight turn at the top. The bed was a small double with access only from 1 side. If their other rooms are larger and serviced by a lift or stairs then I would give it higher marks.
Amazing historic building with modern touch
Great location, spectacular view from top floor, large room and wonderful service!
Location, Location, Location !
In the heart of Old Town. Awesome location, reasonably priced, great service, clean, on-site cafe with breakfast included. Quiet. Highly recommend
Friendly staff, excellent location, great breakfast
They should replace the hardwood floors or better off use carpet instead
Dishonest
When I arrived they told me I must have cancelled the hotel, despite me showing them my confirmation of reservation. Had to find alternative accommodation. When I asked the booking agency for a refund and explanation, the hotel told the agency that they, the hotel, had cancelled it. I suspect the hotel sold the room to a higher bidder, company client, whatever - after my reservation and without telling me or the agency it was cancelled.
The staff and wait servers were good and very helpful. The hotel. Is a small hotel in old town Bucharest. I was there 6 nights and was able to the World Cup game and listen to live classical music every evening.
The hotel entrance is not even permissible it’s a office room in the back of a cafe restaurant, the standard room is very small and upon check out the staff was overcharging me over 100 dollars, be careful.
Extremely dodgy room.
Stayed in the room 14 the window of each was overlooking the back of the building and a wall hence the window glass was not transparent. Because of that the room does not have a daylight. And has very low ceiling. Neither hotel nor hotels.com gave proper description of this room otherwise I wouldn't choose it. The Wi-fi was OK (I called it "part-time Wi-Fi") in the room but very poor in the hotel and in front of the hotel.
Great little hotel. Breakfast cafe is really pretty and the food delicious.
A friendly welcome chic little bottle right in the heart of the old time. Clean with plenty of room, tea and coffee making facilities and a delicious breakfast in a sunny cafe overlooking the bustling streets below. A welcome retreat after a long day exploring.
5/5 such nice employees at this hotel!
Extremely nice people, no problems whatsoever, great location for the party trip we were looking to have.
Beautiful classic hotel
I loved my stay at Rembrandt hotel. Our room was beautiful with a great view of the city. The lift was only big enough for one person with luggage at a time. When you get in the room, you need to put the card attached to your key in the slot on the wall in order to turn the electricity on. The breakfast was wonderful. The staff was very helpful. If I'm ever in Bucharest again, I would definitely stay here.
Lovely hotel in center of old city
The most striking part of our experience was the kindness and care of the front desk staff, Toni and Christiana( sorry if I mistake her name). They greeted us and guided us with kindness, especially when it turned out we had mangled our reservations for an interrupted stay. Choose the larger, business level rooms if you can, as they are ample and the standard rooms are smallish. But the staff and the location make this a hotel to consider.
Perfect Location, spacious room, breakfast average
The people are so lovely, friendly and helpful in every way. I liked all of them. The location can't be better, perfect to reach few shops, pubs and restaurants. Also easy access to taxi's on the right side. The breakfast lacks variety and freshness of cheese. They did not look so good. Very limited variety, even if it is a small hotel it can offer a much better breakfast. The wooden floor is very noisy and annoying.
Excellent location helpful staff
The hotel is located at the Old Town Bucharest and it’s a big plus because there’s a lot of restaurant, bars, and other forms of entertainment within the area including some historical places, i.e., Palatul Voievodal, old churches, etc. The hotel is staff 24/7, the room is clean and spacious, and the breakfast is good. Moreso, the staff members are responsive which helps a lot to make my stay pleasant. My stay could have been excellent had the pillows are more comfortable.
Two Day Stay September 2017
An excellent experience in an historic building in Bucharest Old Town. Some guests complain about the noise but we felt all the other positive features outweighed any negatives.
Excellent Central Hotel
Wonderful hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely rebook when returning to Bucharest.
Pleasantly surprised with great location.
Upon first glance, we weren't quite sure about this hotel... the reception area is a bit cluttered and it is basically just a desk. That is where the lack of surety ends, though. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, the room was clean and spacious, the restaurant/bar was quite affordable, the breakfast was well appointed, and the location was fantastic. It all adds up to a wonderful value for the money. The only improvement I can think of would be instructions on parking if you have a car. We paid 10 lei to a guy on the street that let us have "his spot"... 3 more lei the next day. For less than $3, this was fine, but it wasn't ideal.
Nice, except we drove and GPS had a lot of trouble locating hotel because it was on a pedestrian street. Very annoying.
Great location
My flight was severely delayed and it ended up taking me two days to get to Bucharest. The staff at The Rembrandt was more than accommodating and sent a driver to pick me up after midnight. Was it expensive? Compared to local prices, yes, but I was just so grateful not to have to deal with finding my way out of the airport at that time of night, it was worth every penny. Great customer service on that end. The room was serviceable, but clean. The only downside is the noise from a club and a restaurant below the hotel rooms. I always travel with earplugs and found it a fair trade off for the fabulous location. So if quiet is important to you, avoid. If you want to be where the action is, this is a great home base.
Great location, incredibly noisy at night
Great location for exploring old town. Staff polite and helpful. Rooms basic but clean. Do not stay on a Friday / Saturday night if you want to get any sleep before 5am. Had the reviews we read on this hotel mentioned that there is no escape from the noise of thumping bars and clubs until dawn, we would not have stayed here. On the basis of this alone, we would not return or recommend - unless you are going on a stag / hen weekend in which case, look no further! Final observation - ensure you get to breakfast early; the buffet was pretty average and in our experience, items were not replenished once they had been eaten by other guests (bread/pastries/orange juice/eggs/yoghurt). WiFi did not connect in our room. Overall, we acknowledge that there is nothing the hotel can do about the noise but we wish we had known about this beforehand. Not being mean but hopefully this review will give future visitors a more realistic expectation before they travel.
Great location but be prepared for night noise. Ask for a room at the back. Other complaint is quality of bedding very rough. Breakfast is visually unappealing and poor quality. Luckily there is the Van Gogh cafe next door. Staff especially Diana go all out. Location is excellent. Room is very spacious.
hote is terrific, but stay somewhere else
The hotel is clean. Rooms are spacious. Location is in the old city. Now for the bad part. The hotel is between two bars that blast music all day and night. I was there over the weekend. From 2pm to 2am on Saturday, it was really terrible. I was told by the hotel staff that they often call the police to get help. When I was there they called several times. The windows literally vibrated. Even though I was on an upper floor, I had to talk loud to be heard inside the room. Forget sleep. It is really a shame as the hotel and location are terrific, but stay somewhere else.
Great little place to stay in the Old Town
Thoroughly enjoyed a long weekend here with my partner - great location, extremely friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble, tasty breakfast and a fantastic café on the ground floor. Room was on the small side, but perfectly comfortable and quiet. We'll definitely be back.
Bad breakfast and noise floor
quality the breakfast is bad, the room is big, but the floor is noise anytime we walk... Location the hotel is good, staff are friendly, but nothing speical except sleeping.
Old Town Hotel
Great stay, hotel is in great location for tourist, a little less so for business. The reception is through the cafe area and while very cute doesn't offer any proper meeting area. Also, there is little parking in the and some of the roads are closed to general traffic during the day. However this is the old town and for that reason the hotel is in a fabulous location! Easy access to cultural activities during the day with amazing night life, fabulous bars and restaurants at every turn in this area. The hotel does provide tea and coffee facilities in the room :-) and a hairdryer is available but be aware this it isn't in your room. Small thing maybe, but if like me you don't realise this before your shower, you'll have a trip to reception with wet hair! The hairdryer provided was a little travel style appliance. It did the job but in a nice hotel like this, a modern appliance should be in every room as standard. Room was super clean, great bathroom too. Would definitely consider returning here on holiday.
Great place
Very nice hotel clean and in heart of old city. You can eat drink with need a taxi
Great Service and Cozy Rooms
I was only in for a night, before flying out the next day, but the hotel was great, good service, nice room, cozy, great breakfast in the morning. I'd stay again.
Boutique Hotel, Comfort and Fantastic Location
We had a mini honeymoon and we enjoyed our stay a lot!! We would definitely come back to stay at this hotel, only...
Thanks GOD I have booked this Hotel
As voted above every thing is perfect or very near. the staff , the breakfast clean, position everything.
Clean , warm friendly hotel
A two night layover in Bucharest. First time visiting Bucharest / Romania. To be honest we didn't enjoy the City at all. However, the Rembrandt is a well run ,clean and friendly hotel. It is in a good location with many bars and restaurants within a short stroll. Downside of the area is the sleaze, txxxxx bars and porxo cinema.
Wonderful hotel in the heart of Old Town
The Rembrandt was fabulous. A small hotel with a big heart. The staff were so accommodating and very knowlegable about Romania and Bucharest. My room (31) was huge!
The best location.... great value for money !
Excellent !
Nice hotel for the price and location
Super friendly staff, great area for restaurants and bars
I didnt like it at all. It was rated as 4.5 stars and the property was old and small. I want my money back or a credit.
Convenient original hotel in the Old Bucharest
This is a great hotel. The only inconvenience is that in weekends the area is noisy til 3 - 4 am due to nightlife .With ear plugs this inconvenience can be fixed. I love the hotel because it makes you feel in the Bucharest of the 1930s.
Great choice in good location
A little gem in the old town. Large rooms, big bed and spacious bathroom. A bit quirky but full of character although views from some windows was of crumbling brickwork. Good breakfast included. A great choice of small hotel in the older part of town.
Great Place with Great Staff.
Rembrandt Hotel was a great experience. The rooms were very spacious and clean. My friend forgot his hat, and the staff called immediately to tell him that he forgot it. The staff is very friendly and we opted for a private tour with one of the staff members (Toni) to the Royal summer castle and the case for Bran. The tour is only offered by the this hotel only. A very great tour and a lot of fun.The breakfast was filling with "homemade" waffles. Overall a great experience.
All about location
Rembrandt it's all about it's central location right in the old town center. They were accommodating with our request to safekeep our luggage for another couple of hours after checking out.
Great boutique hotel in the heart of the old town
This is a great hotel in the heart of Bucharest's Old Town. It's ideally positioned for sightseeing in the capital, and there is a great selection of bars and restaurants on the hotels doorstep. Although the area is very lively at night, as we were on the 6th floor we were not disturbed by any excessive noise. The hotel staff were very helpful in arranging a transfer to Bulgaria for us, and were very communicative in the run up to our stay.
Clean hotel with friendly staff in center
Very clean hotel with a pleasant and personable staff in convenient location. The hotel wasn't overwhelming or too big so the staff knew who you were. I could barely hear anything in my room from the outside. Great experience!
The service was excellent and the hotel staff was very helpful. The hotel has a wonderful location in old town yet the rooms was very quiet. Stayed there on 3 different trips to Bucharest.
Great location, friendly staff
Pleasant hotel in a great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. The view from the balcony was superb. A couple of minor drawbacks though. The (small) lift only goes to the 6th floor and we were on the 7th so had to carry luggage up and down the stairs. Plus, the room also had a sloping ceiling over the bed. I'm only 5'4" and I had to be careful not to hit my head. I would definitely stay here again but I would request a room on a lower floor.
Terrific hotel in the Old Town Bucharest. Very comfortable and functional room, knowledgeable staff, very good breakfast and coffee, cool neighborhood. I very much enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
Best Staff Ever!
From the moment we arrived until our departure, every member of the staff made us feel welcomed & almost part of the family! The room was great, the price was reasonable, and the breakfast was good. Loved the location, as well as the little cafe in front. Only wish we could have stayed longer!
Great Hotel
Loved our stay here. Extremely convenient location for all the Old Town sights, walking tour, shopping, restaurants and bars. Need a taxi for the museum districts. Lovely Old Town charm and excellent breakfast and free WiFi.
Great Choice
We stayed for 7 days. This location was a perfect base from which to explore and provided ample choices for outdoor drinks and dining. All the staff were helpful and cheerful and most were fluent in English. Our room was quite large and overlooked the plaza. The bed was comfortable and the room had air conditioning. Overall, I think this hotel was the perfect choice for our vacation.
Great location in the center of old towne.
Located in the middle of old towne, you can stay here and not need to take a taxi anywhere. Plenty of restaurants, shops and nightclubs in the area. Only complaint is the wood floors make a lot of noise when you walk on them.
A worthwhile choice for convenience and value
Conveniently llocated in the old city. The hotel reflected the surrounding area perfectly. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Great Location and Stay
The service was fantastic. They helped us make taxi and buss arrangements and made sure we were welcome and comfortable. The proximity to the Old Town with all its restaurants was great.
Great location and helpful staff
Brief but very comfortable stay. Lovely dining area in the morning if you can get the seat by the window! Very helpful staff
Bucharest stay.
Great location, the service has gotten worse, though not bad! They moved the reception to a back office and that it not great, plus the people sitting there were not very service minded. They were not rude, just not very switched on.
I enjoyed my two-night stay, and appreciated very much the hotel's location in the old town city center.
Very nice. great location in old town.
Great place but hard to find. Taxi can't get you all the way and need to walk last block. If they provided GPS coordinates, it would be easier to find. Otherwise excellent hotel.
Great location, good quality 3 star hotel, good breakfast, helpful staff
The staff are very helpful, and the neighbourhood charming and quirky. The hotel is a perfect bijou
Good location!
The hotel location is great!! Breakfast is really good and rooms are comfortable. We just had an issue with a rude receptionist. But in overall really good!!!
ideally located
Lovely hotel perfect location fantastic service
By far the nicest place I've stayed in Bucharest ... its location is perfect right next to the Old Town but not noisy. Very clean with good appointments in the room. Service very friendly. The breakfast is nothing spectacular but tasty and fresh, with waffles and Dutch cheese.... I had the "matrimonial suite" which is on top of the reception ... a very spacious room if you can grab it, and it was mostly quiet except for one morning when someone came by very early.
Wow-great customer service.
This is my second stay at the Rembrandt hotel. The neighborhood is great and the hotel is charming This visit we discovered that my granddaughter left her cell phone in the taxi on the way from the hotel to the airport. I called the hotel, provided the taxi company and taxi number which the hotel had provided on a slip of paper before we left, and they were able to track down the phone at the taxi company and send the phone back to me. Fantastic!!!
Good hotel in Bucharest
This is the fourth time I have stayed at the Rembrandt and it is the only hotel I would use in Bucharest
Annual Visit
I've stayed there once per year, since 2007, and it is consistently an excellent hotel in Lipscani area and a 5 min walk to Unirii Plaza, center of everything.
Excellent choice for budget traveller
I had a great stay at the Rembrandt Hotel. The location can't be beat, inside the edge of Old Town, yet it is far enough away from the nightclubs that you can actually sleep at night. Great service at reception with excellent English spoken. There's a little cafe on the second floor overlooking the street, very intimate and quiet. The room was small but clean, comfortable bed, good mini-bar, good Internet. Overall an excellent choice for a traveller on a budget.
excellent location
The hotel is situated great for the Old Town and therefore most of the tourist sites. My three nite stay was really good, comfy bed, good shower. The breakfast was absolutely adequate, but nothing special. The people working at the hotel were very nice, but did not know that much about tourist information. There were no maps available and even when I used a map from one of the tour books, the staff could not tell me a lot about the city other than where we were. They did not know specifically about opening hours, nor did they proactively try to look things up online. The wifi is also really good. All in all, I would go back, but would go expecting to mostly take care of my tourist needs.
Hidden gem. Highly recommended.
Excellent hotel in the middle of everything
I've stayed in October in Rembrandt hotel and I was very pleased with everything. The room was spacious (the business room) and clean, there were lots of snacks and drinks in the room which you could buy at acceptable prices and lots of restaurants around. Although I thought the room might be noisy because of the location of the hotel, it was actually quiet and I had a good quality sleep. The breakfast had enough variety and the coffee was really good. The staff were helpful when I needed any information. I can't recommend enough this hotel, it gives a 'home' feeling as opposed to the big chain hotels and offers anything one would need for a comfortable stay.
Great location
Great little hotel right in the middle of at least 100 bars and restaurants. Staff was very kind and helpful, room was good sized, breakfast was good but not great. Absolutely loved the location. I highly recommend.
Small friendly hotel, well located in the old town
I only stayed here one night after travelling to Bucharest for a flight home. The location is right in the middle of the old town so a great base to explore, especially since I didn't have long, it was great already being located in the middle of everything. There are loads of bars/cafes within walking distance and the restaurant adjoining the hotel was nice. I had a rear facing room so no view but it was quiet at night (although I stayed during the week so not sure how loud it'd get at weekends..) The room was a really good size, comfortable, had all the amenities you'd want (including kettle! - not always common in Europe). The breakfast buffet was good - cereal, bread/toast, meat, cheese - the standard sort of european hotel breakfast really. Staff were friendly and helpful (and very apologetic when the lift broke down the day I checked out and I had to drag my suitcase down the stairs). Would definitely recommend, and would stay again.
Massive rooms
Lovely quirky hotel in the heart of the old town. Very friendly staff and massive rooms Excellent all round
Helpful staff and great location but a bit noisy
Right in the center, a walk away from the biggest attractions. The room was very clean ,the beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was tasty! The staff was really helpful with any question that we have had and even ordered for us a tour to the parliament house. But! The biggest advantage of the hotel is also its disadvantage....the location. We were in the fifth floor the it was still a bit noisy.
Perfect location
The Rembrandt was the perfect boutique hotel we wanted for our vacation time in Old Town Bucharest. Right in the heart of all the fun with a very friendly and accommodating staff.
For the same price go to a recognized brand
Almost physically attacked and violently verbally abused by the hotel manager – this hysterical episode included screams, shouts, the whole 9 yards in the presence of other clients. All triggered by falsely communicated check-in time by clueless hotel staff more interested in gossiping with room cleaning ladies than assisting their guests. Regardless, the higher management at this hotel has no place in the tourism and customer service industry. Plan on checking-in at 2PM promptly, else you may end-up parking your luggage on the curb dogging the gypsies wondering about the Liptscani area. The placid, deeply confused Romanian staff at Rembrandt (profoundly unaware of their place and scope at that venue) will kick you and yours in the streets. Avoid this hotel at all costs. And with all due respect, an offer of cold lemonade will not cut it at 130 euros a night! To summarize: false pretenses of professionalism and courtesy when in essence all one gets are holograms, the veneer of a deeply seeded contempt and downright disrespect toward guests.
Great hotel in the historic part of Bucharest
The hotel is in an excellent location right in the historic part of town. It is situated within the walking zone but there is convenient paid parking close by in the University parking. The rooms vary from super large facing front to small and with no view in the back of the hotel. We had one of each and they both have pros and cons. The front facing rooms are beautiful but pretty noisy and the back one was much smaller and darker, but it was super quiet. The staff was friendly and knew enough English to make it comfortable. The rooms were very clean and with large and modern bathrooms. Overall this was a great hotel and I would recommend staying here.
Great breakaway in the heart of the old City
A short break away in Bucharest, very enjoyable. The day starts with an excellent breakfast. The location of the hotel means that you are within walking distance of the main city attractions and if you want to go out all night you are close to the Restaurants and bars. The staff team at RH were very friendly and helped me with the organisation of my day tours into the countryside and around the city.
awesome
Great place heart of old city
My friend and I came for a 2 days relaxation after a long 5 days trek up north. The location was great, the room was clean and comfortable. We got a quiet room just as we asked and the breakfast was really nice.
Berst location in Old Town Bucharest
Great location, good price, very good staff.
Wonderful hotel in perfect location in Bucharest
Great hotel right in the middle of downtown Bucharest. Very good service, staff is friendly and helpful. Nicely furnished rooms. On the weekend a bit noisy because of the nightlife around the hotel, but at the same time it's nice to stay close to restaurants and nightlife. The Van Gogh Bar downstairs is linked to the hotel and has a nice patio to have a late dinner or drink. Breakfast is excellent.
Comfortable and conveniently sited
Very comfortable - welcoming and well positioned
Great room and hospitality
Great stay at the Rembrandt Hotel. Good breakfast. Good wifi. Great room to access nice restaurants. The huge bonus was that one of the people from the hotel took us to the airport...for free/complimentary. That was very nice and did not have to do that.

Small hotel. Large rooms. Excellent service. Basic breakfast. Excellent location
