Amazing value for money. Picturesque grounds and great location
The stay was beautiful and our family enjoyed it very much. The only complaint was that the shower leaked water into the bathroom area but that was a minor inconvenience for the overall stay.
Miserable dump. Awful people.
Great atmosphere
Great atmosphere and excellent breakfast! Two good restaurants on-site. No Laundry tho.
Great gardens, this property is a fantastic medieval home. Great to visit again !
Absolutely beautiful property!!!
This property was even more beautiful in person! The grounds were lovely to walk around and explore, the food in the restaurant was 10/10! Our room was perfect, clean, spacious, and a/c was great. We will be back!
i have been charge stay taxes for 2 nights but i stayed only one night
The property was beautiful. It gave you a true feeling of old vintage Rome/Italy atmosphere. The staff was helpful. This is definitely a wedding destination to share with family and friends because everybody can be on the property. It is in the country with no other things close by but a beautiful location.
Overall Good place to stay outside Central Rome
A lot of cats in the territory...
Property more of a wedding venue
I stayed here for an overnight before an early flight out of Rome because it’s only 35 minutes from the airport. Said they would accommodate me with a breakfast box to go, but that never happened. It’s the only property I stayed in on a month long trip to Italy where I was told the water was not safe to drink. If that’s the case, they should not be charging for bottled water
The restaurant on the premises made our stay easy. It is in a good location in the countryside but within 30 minutes of the Rime airport.
The location is special! We enjoyed the grounds. Just keep in mind that the walls are paper thin and all can be heard. Also, the mattresses are dated and need to be replaced
This is a charming property up in the hillside above Rome. A quiet place to stay close enough to drive into the city. The property is beautiful and would be great for an event like a wedding. They had a great breakfast with lots of options.
Beautiful ancient Hotel in Country Near Rome
Our room had everything we needed:comfy bed, fridge, WiFi and great shower. Included breakfast was delicious with espresso and fresh pastries, eggs, bacon and much more! Just lovely. The countryside was beautiful.
The property itself is nice. It's a cute experience but only one day maybe. We ended up checking out early. They advertise air conditioning however you cannot control it yourself and it is one unit for the entire property so they keep it warm and mostly off. It was too hot to sleep so we kept our windows open which then made it very noisy. They advertise black out curtains too and my room did not have those, the light hit our face all night. On top of that we woke up to construction right outside our room at 8am so we could not sleep. The restaurant at the top is good but the menu is limited.
It was a great place to stay for overnight and convenient to the airport. 30 minute drive very good breakfast.
When we arrived, we were received with a friendly reception and walked to our room for convenience. The grounds were beautiful, and the rooms were clean. The bed was very comfortable, there was a mini fridge to keep our drinks cold and a blow dryer in the bathroom. The breakfast wasn’t very good with a variety of meats, cheeses, eggs, cereal, fruit with coffee and juices to drink. We were very impressed with the property!
A quite and beautiful location
Property great, food disappointing for the price & staff not hospitable
The property was very beautiful. It had wildlife (saw a couple foxes, frogs, lizards and cats) and many areas to explore. The staff was very helpful and made every effort to make sure we had transportation (utilized the shuttle many times) when needed. Really enjoyed the extra effort by the staff.
Beautiful place
Beach was unkept. Salesmen we’re on top of you. The swimout pool was not working
An interesting property in he countryside with good access to Lake Bracciano, the coast and the airport
low maintained
Nice place, bad service at the restaurant
Hotel is located in a secluded area, very quaint and beautiful landscape. Hotel room and bathroom was spacious, and beautifully revamped with a mediaval touch. They did not have a fridge, but had a safe and a closet space. Brakfast was good and not crowded. Service was great during the included breakfast, but service was terrible at the expensive dinner. We had dinner at the restaurant, the service was terrible. One of my friends ordered a plate of pasta, but he only mentionned to her that they were out of that type of pasta once dinner was served for the rest of our group. She then ordered another plate, and aksed him if there was any meat in that pasta, because she is a vegetarian. He said 'no carne'. When he brought her dish out, they had put bacon mixed into the gnocchis...She ordered another plate, but the server charged us for both plates, when he was in the wrong and we did not even touch the gnocchi plate which we returned. We can hear the server talking loud to the cook what had happened, when we returned the plate. The cook even came out of his kitchen to see who returned the plate. Also you can see the kitchen from the outside terrasse, the cook lit a cigarette inside the kitchen...
The staff especially the driver were all excellent
Our room had several issues. The AC unit was leaking water onto the floor and would create puddles. There was mold on one of the walls. The shower pan also leaked onto the bathroom floor. Breakfast is extremely limited, and the restaurant food was awful. I do not recommend this property.
Beautiful property
Room decor is dated. Staff is excellent. Restaurant was very good
Loved this place , it’s a relaxing and beautiful setting. It was actually much nice than I expected . Do be aware it’s a bit out of town. When I originally booked we had a car , we ended up not having one (long story but ended up very glad NOT to have one) They do have a shuttle that takes you to the metro stop but as we are a family of four and that added up we just took busses , which was fine but added some time and made it impossible to get downtown early to avoid the crowds - However - I think it was worth it ! Would absolutely stay here again ! Can’t beat what you get for the price , and best of all was all the delicious fresh fruit for breakfast !
Romantic Getaway
Great place. Clean. Comfortable. Wonderful Breakfast included. Restaurant on site. Another great restaurant just down the road. Parking right outside your door. Only negative- quite far from everything. Quite a drive to Roma Centro. Otherwise perfect
It was fabulous and excellent value and service
Very good ambience. Great customer service (especially front desk Ivan and chauffeur Angela) and good food.
Good stay on way to cruise
This was a very enjoyable stay at this property The rooms were large and well furnished and had good views over the countryside Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet with many choices Would definitely stay here again
Property had lovely grounds excellent helpful staff and a nice ambiance
Beautiful setting, excellent food. We had a few hiccups with our room that weren’t settled entirely satisfactorily. But in general we were very pleased
This unique property was amazing! Close to Rome, yet had a country feel. We enjoyed seeing the busy sights of Rome during the day and returning to our peaceful room at night. Our room was gorgeous and fit all five of our family perfectly! We would definitely book again!
lovely location, quiet country setting; resort like but small cozy. love the docor and setting. beautiful rustic roman casa. big bedroom with big bed for european standard esp for rome, big bathroom with proper soaking tub and shower encloser. bed was comfortable, shower water pressure was good. great restaurant. close and easy drive to fiumicino airport. what else can you ask for?
Esperienza buona nel complesso - Camere veramente poco isolate acusticamente - da non scegliere se si necessita di privacy
I liked the building and staff didn't liked how far away it is from everything - not even a grocery store for miles and miles and on Tuesday the restaurant onsite is closed.
We spent almost a week here to visit Rome. Honestly, we could have spent the week at the Relais Castrum. The grounds are amazing. The room was spacious and authentic. Each morning we woke to songbirds out the window, open the door to see horses running through the distant fields, and no cars/trucks/motorcycles anywhere. Some day we will return to Italy to visit again. It will be tough for anyone to surpass the level set by Relais Castrum.
This place was wonderful! Service was helpful and pleasant. We would definitely return here and highly recommend this to others. We appreciate the courtesy breakfast and shuttle rides.
I was pretty disappointed in the whole experience here, for starters the rooms shown on the listing are not the rooms you get, without paying and extra 50 -80 euros a night. the rooms you get are much smaller and far less comfortable. the bed was like a rock, we had to layer blankets under the sheet to make it bearable.the heat didn't work and the shower flooded every time we took a shower. but the food was great and most of the staff was nice other than the women at the front desk, who was very rude and not helpful at all. the best part of this Hotel was Angela. the lady who took us into town each day.
Great place to stay! Gorgeous hotel, friendly staff, beautiful views!
Ahmir and Angela were so lovely and gracious. The property is truly unique and tranquil. The restaurant was EXCELLENT. Loved our 5-night stay.
Beautiful hotel and location, glad we drove as perfect to drive to nearest metro to get in to Rome, set up mainly for weddings which two of till late Saturday and Sunday when there, facilities in room a little basic but lovely
too far from the city centre, no cable, no English channels, cost a lot to go to city centre by taxi, $55 dollars
Beautiful hotel, quiet location
This hotel is excellent in that it is using buildings from the 9 century ad. They have done a fantastic job, only let down by its massive upkeep, with amazing gardens.
It was far from rome and a lot of prostitutes on the side of the road .also at night it was very sketchy driving very dark road to get the hotel.room was small. Shower was flooding
Very nice location, very picturesque. All was good with the exception of having dinner in the restaurant. There were 2 weddings and a first communion going on, thus the staff were "busy". We were served our drinks and some bread...no plates, no butter. A different waiter arrived and we asked him for some butter....he did not return...after another 15 minute wait we left. My comment is that you treat all your guests equally and then I would not have to make this comment.
Just wow !!
Un seul mot wow !!!
Charged for services not provided.
Hotel charged me for 2 nights stay even though they knew I was not there.
READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING THIS HOTEL. If you are not planning on spending any time in Rome, then this hotel is lovely. It's in the countryside. But it is far from Rome. If you are planning to actually visit Rome and tour the city. It's 30 minutes away from the last metro station to Rome (Batistini). They offer a shuttle that is 5 euros at 9am and 5 euros at 7pm. Any other time, it cost me 25 euros. And you have to schedule it the day before. If another room wanted to share a ride, it's 15 eurors per room. I spent 75 euros on shuttle rides in the 3 days I was there! It was awful. And that was just to get to the metro station. There is also nothing really close by to walk to. So you are stuck at the hotel. If you have a car then you can go places but as we are tourists not willing to risk Rome traffic, we didn't so we were stuck and it was not fun. This was the most horrible experience during our 15 day Italy tour. The people were not
Hotel is perfect if you want to REALLY get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. But if you’re going to be in Rome for only a few days, this place is not ideal. TOO far from the city center. You have to pay to be shuttled to and from town, regular drop off time is 9am and pick up is 7pm. I’d you deviate from those times, it will cost you more. Breakfast was good. Room was clean, we couldn’t get the ac to work but we didn’t need it. We just had to open the windows and the room cools down comfortably. Walls are thin! Our friends were next door to us and we can hear their snoring and sneezing. There’s a safe and it’s free to use. No elevator. Shower stall is small. There’s a small fridge with some drinks, but they’re expensive. So if you’re a snacker bring your own loot. Or get it from the only thing close by this hotel. Restaurant service was ok, older waiter was not too friendly. Seemed more annoyed to see us, or maybe he just hates his job. There’s nothing close by this place except for a restaurant/bar/“disco” which is down the hill from this hotel. They were kind enough to let us order food even though they were not technically open yet. The older lady realized how hungry we were. They’re food was good and really cheap. They have karaoke and “disco” on certain nights but we were too tired from exploring Rome so we didn’t get to experience their disco while we were there. When we were checking out, we realized they gave us each other’s room. So be careful with tha
Beautiful place to stay
This is an amazing place to relax and feel like you are really in Italy. The history of the place is displayed all around you and it is so comfortable. The staff are great. The coffee is strong. Quiet and peaceful.
Very nice hotel just in the countryside near Rome
Close to the city, but in the country and a relaxed quiet atmosphere. The room was great, the staff were always very helpful and knowledgeable. The shuttle can pick you up from and to Rome and the airport, we rented a car from the airport though and I would highly recommend a smart phone with a routing app if attempting to drive to the hotel through the myriad of unmarked country roads and navigate them without getting lost...as I did! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Beautiful scenic castle-like hotel.
I spent just over 2 weeks in Italy touring around the beautiful country. My trip was very fast paced and we were constantly on the move. At the end of my tour I decided to book 2 nights at this hotel to unwind and relax. This hotel is located just outside of Rome's city center (20- 40 minute drive) and is quiet and beautiful. It was just what I needed. The food in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel also offered cheap shuttles into Rome daily as long as you let them know in advance.
Wonderful Hotel built in to an old castle.
Had a lot of fun exploring the grounds. The restaurant was amazingly good.
Classic looking hotel in the countryside of Rome.
Hotel staff was wonderful, only had an issue with a wedding going on the weekend we were there, band was very loud and played very late. Air conditioning doesn't work in rooms well at all.
EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE, MY HUSBAND AND I LOVED IT, IT WAS PERFECT FOR HONEYMOONERS, OR FAMILY. AWAY FROM THE CROWD AND NOISE OF THE CITY. SERENE ENVIRONMENT. GREAT STAFF, WE HAD FUN AND ENJOYED OUR STAY FOR 13 DAYS. GOOD BREAKFAST AND DINNER,
Last night in Italy
what a gorgeous place and job they did restoring this hilltop. we thought we were lost when we saw some 'rough' areas on our way there. then we arrived at it was like an oasis.
Beautiful place.
Very beautiful. Front desk bilingual, rest of staff worked with you to breach the gap of no Italian on our end. We never did figure out how to get the air conditioning to work so we just opened the window. Good food😁
Quiet, stunning buildings
Pity we only booked 1 night, the room was wonderful, the restaurant was great and the food was excellent
Amazing grounds
We stayed for 4 nights during our 11-night Italy trip and were very happy with the hotel. The grounds were charming. The room was a bit small, but served our needs. The staff was friendlly and helpful. The meals in the "grotto" restaurant were very good, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. There was a wedding and dog show the weekend we were there, so one night was a bit noisy, with dogs barking in nearby rooms and extensive fireworks at 1 a.m., and the walls themselves were very thin (so much so that we felt the need to whisper), but this wouldn't deter me from recommending this hotel. Take advantage of the shuttle for a minor cost to the metro station for rides into Rome.
I liked the space very much.
Very quiet and with beautiful scenery.
Brilliant hotel with friendly staff. Would go back to this hotel in a heart beat.
The place was hidden and magical.
The room was spacious with all amenities in place. We loved it. Complimentary breakfast was also included.
amazing property at a reasonable price
It is a unique property with wonderful facilities including dinner and great rooms at a reasonable price and away from the hustle of Rome
Best Value in Italy!!
We stayed the last 3 days of a 2 week trip in this historic property. A suite cost $62 and it was welcome after 2 weeks of splurging on more expensive properties in Naples, Cortona, Milano, Trento and Cavazzone. Nothing was right upon reception - A/C, wi fi and internet did not work. All were restored promptly. In addition, Mazin, the Bangladeshi night manager, was friendly, extremely helpful and a terrific human being - he himself was the sole reason behind a memorable stay. The hotel is 30 minutes drive to Fuimcino Da Vinci airport and was a piece of cake getting to. Watch out for treacherous fog in the night. Mazin, God bless him, will help you with anything. A car is a must although a shuttle is available
Good place to stay
Hotel overall was great, except the towels were old and dirty, I really wish they would wash their towels better.
Incredible hotel!
Breathtaking views. So calm and serene. Fresh air and beautiful flowers. Wow!
This accommodation has been renovated beautifully and with style and makes this Italian villa complex very special. Staff extremely helpful and the daily bus was great dropping us off and picking us up from the train station. Restrauant food was superb. This location would be perfect for a wedding.
Lovely hotel off the beaten track. A great place to stay as a base to travel around the area. The restaurant served lovely food. The hotel supplied a minibus (for a reasonable price) to get you into Rome and collected later in the day.
Hidden Gem
A great hotel to stay at with a lot of character, charm and romantic setting. About 45min drive out of Rome and ideal to have a break from the busy city. Rooms were great and the restuarant/Taverna had quality food. Nice grounds and gardens to walk around and sit in.
charm in a country setting
This is the most charming romantic relaxing hotel that we have ever been to. The staff cannot do enough for you and are always very friendly and smiling. The food was very good and the rooms romantic and very clean. We were fortunate enough to witness a wedding while we were there and the hotel staff made it such a beautiful affair that we understand why so many events are planned here. The gardens are gorgeous and it is so peaceful here after a busy day of sightseeing in Rome. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Beautiful hill country far from city center
My boyfriend and I recently spent three nights at this hotel in Rome. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from the city life. The perks of this hotel include an incredibly kind and welcoming staff, free breakfast (delicious), free internet (we had a little bit of trouble with it), an amazing view of Rome's hill country, a hotel shuttle that takes you into the city and drops you off right outside the Vatican for a small fee per person (our driver's name was Danny and he was nice and helpful) and many other things I know I am forgetting to mention. There were a couple of downfalls for staying so far away from the city. If you are looking for a hotel in which you can walk around at night for shopping centers and restaurants then this is not the place for you. Because the hotel is far from the city center, we were not able to go out and experience Rome's nightlife without having to pay a large taxi fee. The hotel did have a great pizzeria down the road (just a short walk), which was great considering there was not much else around. Also, before we booked this hotel, we read reviews that mentioned the noise level during the weekends due to weddings. We ended up staying over the weekend and there were two weddings at that time. We could hear the noise but it did not keep us from sleeping (and I do consider myself to be a light sleeper). Overall, we had a lovely stay. I highly recommend this place! WARNING: do not take black cars from airport!
Awesome place, dating back to the IX century! Close to Fiumicino.
Nice atmosphere but, noisy.
We stayed for two nights. The Hotel is beautiful, with a Medieval theme. Check in was quick and easy, the guy at the front desk showed us to our room. The room was small but quaint. We were told there was two restaurants on the property, also a Pizzeria just a ways down the road. Since there was a wedding going on we could only eat the one restaurant and only outside. We did have dinner there. The food was good, but they did not have any of lease expensive wines on the menu, they were out. The room does have thin walls, in the morning bright and early we heard coughing, and other noises, then the door shut, so they must have been leaving. The air conditioning system is terrible, its noisy. We did enjoy the breakfast which is included with your stay. We stayed on the grounds to relax, since we had spent 3 weeks in Italy. The sounds were nice, but could have been cleaned up better from the wedding. We went to the pizzeria for lunch. No pizza available only after 7 pm. We eat there any way. Food so,so. Back at the Hotel, they were getting for party. We just went up our room to relax until dinner. Dinner outside. The music at the party was loud, you could hear everything. We finally got to sleep. We were up early to catch out flight. The hotel did have transportation to the airport for 55 euro. There is also a 6 euro tax per person per night since this a 4 to 5 star hotel. It just seem that they are more accommodating to there parties then their regular guest
Beautiful
This is the most beautiful places I've stayed at, and the staff was very friendly. Book this place for the weekend and you'll not regret it. The place is seriously beautiful, and inexpensive as well. There are a few things you should be aware of though. It's in the middle of nowhere, and you can't walk anywhere. There are only 2 restaurants available for example. There's a shuttle bus that will take you into Rome for 10 Euros a head, but without your own vehicle you're stuck there, and with your own vehicle you'll have to brave the Italian roads for the 45 minute trip to Rome. The showers are small. We had 2 rooms, the first was a tiny corner shower much too small for anyone. The second was a bit larger, about 2.5 feet by 2.5 feet. We don't regret booking there, and had a great time. But if I could do it over I would book a 3 night stay there and a hotel within Rome itself for the rest of our stay. But then, we were interested in exploring Rome itself, and the shuttle bus hours just didn't allow us to do that properly.
Perfect Honeymoon
Trip was amazing location was brilliant no bad comments it might have had a cobweb but who cares food might have been a bit pricy but you pay for what you get pizzeria down the hill does 2 large pizzas and 2 bottles of coke for €18 if you want a cheap meal the Rome in a day trip was out of this world and you visit, colosseum, pantheon, Spanish steps, palatine hill, Vatican and museum, Sistine chapel, trevi fountain and few others so well worth it with "walks of Italy" giving me and the wife all week to soak up the Rays and relax a fantastic week :)
Beautiful Hotel with a rome-antic appeal!!!
We stayed there for 2 nights and I must say that it was a memorable experience. The location is a bit far away from the city center but if you want to experience the real medieval countryside resort like ambiance far away from the hustle and bustle of the city then this is the place to be. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. They made arrangements for us to go to the city center, St. Peter's Basilica and the Airport at a very reasonable price. Fabio who took us around to all these places was very helpful and accommodating even though he could barely speak any English. I wish their restaurant was better equipped and provided more choices and their staff could communicate in English which was a major challenge. I believe that could be a reason why we did not see many people eat over there. But overall, I would say it was a great experience.
Simply disappointing
My husband and I stayed there for a couple of nights. We were mainly attracted by the quiet location and the beautiful surroundings, as seen on their website but unfortunately, this place simply couldn't deliver. We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The gardens might have been nice once but now, they looked abandoned. The same referred to the hotel room we were given. Low hygiene- spider webs, hairs on the pillows, etc. The staff at the restaurant was exceptionally rude and unhelpful. Some of them could not say a word in English but what appalled us even more was their complete ignorance. All the time, we felt as if they were the people paying our salaries not the other way round. I've always restrained myself from writing so negative reviews but I felt obliged to comment on this hotel as I've never witnessed such a complete lack of customer services!
Disappointing
Arrived to a very discreet location which was fine and expected, yet more signage would have been desirable. the disappointment happened when we entered the room. the bed sheets looked awful and pubic hair was found on the pillow. the shower door was not running on the rails properly and could have done with a clean. however the worst came when we opened the cupboard to the mini-fridge. a fairly medium sized cockroach was kicking about inside the cupboard. we was not there longer than 30 minutes before we had checked in saw the creature and left to go to another hotel.
Fantastic appart from the distance.
Hotel and staff service was fantastic, only let you down is the distance. It is 30Km far from the city, but they have a shuttle service to Vatican city which costs 5 Euro per person.
Not what we expected
We stayed here for 2 nights and im happy we didnt have to stay longer. The hotel is very different and pretty in parts but the overal feeling of the hotel is not great. We and 2 other guests appeared to be the only ones staying here in September, but the food in the restaurant that belongs to the hotel was horrible as well as the breakfast. Not much to choose from and it just tasted old. We took the shuttle in to Rome and bought food there to bring back. The service people seemed bothered with our precense and made little effort to serve us. The beds are SUPER stiff. The only good thing about our stay was the super cheap and efficient shuttle that runt to and from the city. Its 5 Euro one way and they where always on time with pickup and departure.
Loud, Rude & Not at all understanding.
Upon arriving we were only shown ONE restaurant to have dinner, we later discovered the beautiful one from the website 'in a natural cave' was actually closed (without any discount to our stay or notice beforehand that certain facilities were out of use). However, this was not a major problem as we intended to eat in Rome most days anyway. It was however when we returned from Rome on Saturday night to a wedding party swamping the entire garden area of the hotel that the problems began. This party went on until after 2am in the morning with blasting music that you could hear as loud inside our room as outside at the party, as there was no sound proofing and we were located across from the gardens. For this the hotel offered us a meal (not at their nice expensive restaurant however, but at the cheap pizzeria next door). The best bit was, they only payed for the 6 euro pizzas and 2 euro bread, and left us to pay the 4 euro service charge and drinks/dessert. If that wasn't bad enough, the exact same thing happened again on the Sunday night to which we got no compensation. Their was also a dog from the property next door that came onto the grounds every morning at 5am and barked for 2 hours straight, to which the manager told us 'it is not my dog, so it is not my problem' in an extremely rude tone. Overall the manager was appalling in his behaviour and extremely sexist. The only success we had in discussions was when i (the male) spoke to him. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!
Nice Hotel with rural surroundings
The overall hotel was very nice and surrounded with lovely country feeling. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms' condition was good but facilities could be improved. The location is nice and away from the city, however car rental would be recommended.
Almost perfect!!
This is a charming beautiful hotel in amazing countryside with fabulous romantic grounds to stroll around. The hotel itself is really nice, and very romantic rooms!. It is a gem of a hotel about 20 mins by car to Rome. Hotel does a shuttle service, and the hotel restaurant is absolutely beautiful, with fabulous food and wonderful service! This hotel will one day be a 5 star, and all it needs is a pool and /or a spa! Staff were all friendly, and this is really a great place for a romantic stay! We would stay again for sure!
beautiful hotel and grounds
Was a great place to stay out of the city, the hotel and manicured gardens were amazing. There were 2 weddings hosted there while we stayed (5nights). Fireworks at midnight woke me not my husband. great pizza place down the road. Bus trip in was an hour+ Or you could ride their "complimentary" shuttle in as well. There was a cost for that and the driver wasn't always punctual. It was a challenge charging the phone and computer since your room key was also the key to power the room. Things couldn't charge while away. Room was spacious, could have used a small bistro table. Loved listening to the birds sing.
THE WORST EXPERIENCE AN AMERICAN CAN HAVE OVERSEAS
NO AIR CONDITION, NO WIFI IN THE ROOM, NO PAVED ROAD, BED AND PILLOWS HARD AS A ROCK, RESTAURANT SO EXPENSIVE BECAUSE THE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING CLOSE BY. NO A SINGLE MOVIE CHANNEL ON THE TV FOR THE AMERICAN CUSTOMER. IN OTHER WORDS WE HAVE BEEN IGNORE IN THAT PLACE. AND BEFORE I FORGET THEY CELEBRATE EVENTS SO CLOSEBY, THAT NOBODY CAN EVEN SLEEP. OVERALL THIS PLECE IS TERRIBLE AND THE ONLY THING THEY SAID ABOUT IT WHEN YOU COMPLAINT IS " I'M SO SORRY". WELL LET ME TELL YOU " THAT DOESN'T HELP AT ALL.
Almost perfect - but not quite
This is a beautiful hotel and the staff are excellent. The food in the restaurant is ok but could be better but service is good and they aim to please. The room was nice and clean but a bit dark and the one I was in was in a seperate block and I was kept awake by the neighbours, not that they were particularly noisy but there was just no sound proofing.
Nice room outside of Rome
The reception staff and room was lovely. Grounds were also stunning. Real let down in the restaurant. Poor service, over priced, bad breakfast. Staff were more focused on weddings than other guests. Shuttle to Rome was brilliant, as was shuttle to air port. Main issue was the poor restaurant staff, very slow service and was ignored a lot.
Fantastic location
Quiet, beautiful gardens, easy shuttle bus service, helpful staff
Second visit
This is the second time I stayed at the Relais Castrum Boccea and if I return to Rome I will stay there a 3rd time. I had already given a review last time I was stayed here so I will keep this one short. Very quiet location, awesome staff and I enjoyed the food and the wine. If you are flying in I would suggest contacting the hotel for a pick up, there is a charge however it is a lot cheaper than a taxi.
CITY BREAK STAY FOR THREE NIGHTS
PICTURESQUE HOTEL- BEAUTIFUL VIEWS- VERY PEACEFUL .TWO COMPLAINTS-- FIRST THE DISTANCE FROM THE CENTRE OF ROME- IT WAS A VERY LONG JOURNEY ALONG VERY DARK AND WINDING ROADS SECONDLY THE WALLS OF THE HOTEL ROOMS ARE VERY VERY THIN SO WE WERE UNABLE TO SLEEP DUE TO THE AMOUROUS GOING ONS OF OUR NEIGHBOURS- VERY NOISYAND CONTINUED ALL NIGHT FOR TWO NIGHTS--- BREAKFAST WAS PLEASANT AND EVENING MEALS IN THE RESTAURANT VERY NICE WITH A VERY PLEASANT WAITER --OVERALL A PLEASANT STAY
A great place to relax at the end of a long day!
The Relais Castrum Boccea is an excellent hotel with friendly staff and even though it is located outside the city it does offer a shuttle service and is about a 30 minute drive depending on traffic. It is a great way to see and experience the quiet country side after a long day in the city, I stayed at the hotel during the tourist off-season so the staff offered to set up the shuttle service at my own time as it is normally set for a specific pick-up and drop-off schedule. My room was comfortable although the walls are a bit thin as you can hear the neighbours. I chose this hotel for the fact that it was outside of the city and because of the great reviews it received from others. If you are looking for the night life you can still choose this hotel but it will cost you on taxi fare as there is nothing near by. This hotel is meant for you to have a relaxing and quiet evening! I do plan on returning to the hotel in April 2014.

Very nice and quiet place to stay but unfortunately the WiFi isn’t the best very bad quality and TV channels very limited.
