Beautiful stay

Hotel can be considered 5 stars, when it comes to amenities, facilities, breakfast and room. The design is pretty nice and well kept. Staff is not welcoming and friendly. Don’t bother to answer the phone or remove the trash from our room.

Nice staff and beautiful grounds

The poor rating is because we were astonished to discover at check-in that we were not able to have a table for dinner in your restaurant. This was particularly irritating because the nearest alternative requires a taxi.

Excellent property supported by amazing staff. We have had an amazing time staying here with friends and family. A special thank you to Kinsley for all his support and guidance. We would definitely stay here again!

Very cosy place.

Excellent hotel which we revisited after a 20 year absence and it has improved immensely to a 5 star property. I would have given 5 stars on all counts had it not been for the porter wasting time getting our car ready for departure. Faultless otherwise. Thank you Briqueterie

Terrible customer service.

Please be aware that this hotel although very nicely appointed cannot provide any substantial food in the evening. It is out in the countryside of Epernay. The staff are clearly aware of this as they are very dismissive when food is mentioned.

Lovely, detailed renovation of the hotel. Beautiful, stylish interiors. Greeted with a chilled glass of local champagne.

Very nice hotel and grounds although near a busy road which was disappointing. Excellent swimming pool. Food was good but a little over priced. The service was a little slow at times. Reception staff very professional and helpful. Nice ambiance.

Very nice room, amazing evening food in the restaurant. Nice pool and hot tub, no waiter service to sun loungers though. Breakfast was average compared to the dinner.

Charming. Not enough lounge chairs by the pool. Tub/shower is hard to get into. Terrace furniture isn't very functional. But dinner and service were excellent!

Delightful !

Stayed for two nights and met up with friends. It was such a lovely hotel, tastefully decorated with beautiful flowers both in the garden and the hotel. Very welcoming and not at all intimidating as other hotels can be in this bracket. A most comfortable bed and smooth bed linen. Our dinner was superb and served so efficiently and with such grace. Breakfast was good BUT I asked for one egg and still got two! Felt bad about waste! The only tiny things that I would seek to improve if I were the owners would be the dressing gowns-make sure they are not torn and replace the worn towels...My gym at home has better ones!

Beautiful property

Beautiful property with a great environment The room was very very nice and clean, the only thing maybe the bathroom outdated. The breakfast is really really great with a lot of pastries and charcuterie The pool is a little bit small but the spa (hammam and sauna) really nice

Lovely hotel, great restaurant

Fantastic service with somebody meeting us from when we first arrived in the car park, they even washed the cars windscreen when we were leaving! Friendly and funny reception staff. Nice hotel overall, some bits could do with an update though. Really nice restaurant where we had a great dinner.

Beautiful hotel in a somewhat secluded area. Room a/c didn’t work so they immediately moved us, staff was great. Restaurant was lovely.

Definitely worth a longer stay

Beautiful, quiet hotel in gorgeous gardens right in the heart of the champagne area but away from the noise of the towns. Lovely dinner and an excellent buffet for breakfast. We would have loved to have stayed longer and will definitely go back, maybe a bit earlier in the year to enjoy the facilities and see the gardens at their peak

When I reserved this resort for the last night of our trip i expected it to be nice. I was unprepared for the magnificence of the property and accommodations. The staff was incredible with their enthusiasm and assistance. We made dinner reservations due to the convenience and found ourselves in one of the top restaurants in France. The meal was amazing. This property is a MUST SEE in the Champagne region.

The restaurant and spa facilities were both top notch. However, the man at the front desk was chatting with another employee for an excessively long time when I was ready to check in. I expected him to break up the chit chat but it continued for a minute longer than I expected. The major issue I had with the hotel is the A/C. They say they have A/C, but we did not sleep at night due to the heat in our room. The A/C needs to be updated! When it does, the hotel will be quite nice.

Could not have expected or asked for more. Highly recommended by my wife and I.

Excellent hotel in the champagne region

Excellent hotel. Very well kept in the heart of the champagne region. The staff were good. Restaurant is excellent but I cannot understand them charging for breakfast. Should be included in the price, we feel.

Lovely hotel! Food amazing. Service top-notch! Open fire, flowers everywhere- beautiful! Pool, a bit cold, specially the air, spoiled the swim a bit. Jaccuci nice and warm! Room lovely and comfortable. Definitely come and stay again! Soon !

Couldn’t be faulted....until we went to pay at the reception desk. Phone rang, the receptionist didn’t even acknowledge us, took the call, and when she put the phone down, didn’t even apologise for making us wait. After experiencing such a warm and friendly welcome from everyone else, it was a shame to finish on that note. But we WILL be back!

Superb Service

Superb service, lovely formal dining, and salon for drinks. Our room lead out to lawn, had bistro set. Full of character. Enclosed pool & Jacuzzi are nice to come “home to” for some relaxation after Champangne tasting. Charming. Stones throw to Epernay Champagne Houses.

The Place is Stunning. True to the brand. Restaurant needs a bit of work, but still good. Spa and room is perfect in every way. Garden is so relaxing and calm among the vineyard views drinking champagne every day... oh yes lots of champagne...

Beautiful location. Great service. House keeping was average. Spa (pool area) facility was poor. Jacuzzi was disgusting. Water was dirty. Rash from Jacuzzi. Do not use!

A real find!!!

A surprising good find and well run although a little dated... great gardens and restaurant

Unhappy travellers.

We have stayed in many Relais et Chateaux properties and expect a very high standard. This hotel disappointed greatly. The room was tiny, the toilet had a plastic seat that would not stay up. One of the towels was frayed. There was no complimentary hair conditioner. The phone didn't work and needed to be replaced. When we asked the bartender if he could make a whiskey sour, he had never heard of such a thing ... nor had he ever heard of ginger ale. The bar didn't offer a Canadian whiskey. Were charged a laughable amount (€17) for a small glass of very undistinguished wine. The hotel is 'pet friendly' but, when we tried to take our dog to breakfast, we were refused entry by a surly waiter (as opposed to one who could politely have asked if we minded leaving our dog in our room). We expect far more from a Relais et Chateaux property.

A beautiful Relais&châteaux hotel outside of Épernay, a great base to visit Champane region. The restaurant is outstanding, the rooms and services as good as it gets. Just two hours away from Paris CDG. Épernay, Aÿ, Reims and many small towns are filled with history, beautiful sights, great food and fantastic wine.

Excellent highly recommend

Had a wonderful overnight stay, dined in the restaurant which was superb. The sommelier was excellent and chose our champagne for the evening. Relaxed in the spa and breakfast was spot on.

Hotel in Champagne country

Everything about this single visit was excellent - accommodation, friendliness of staff, food etc. We only had one night en route Italy but will be back!

Off the beaten path

Lovely, quaint property with friendly, attentive staff. We enjoyed the gourmet restaurant overlooking picturesque countryside. Very peaceful.....felt like we had our own privateFrench chateaux!

Must stay here!

This hotel is incredible! I make a point to stay here anytime I pass through the area for work. The staff is absolutely wonderful- I am always greeted warmly and welcomed by name when I arrive. The hotel itself is so beautiful and charming. Eating in their restaurant or ordering room service is an absolutely must. They have the most talented chef and knowledgeable staff who can recommend stunning wines or champagnes for your meal. I can't speak highly enough of this hotel. Truly a delight and one of my favorite places to stay.

Great Champagne Hotel

This is an excellent hotel with a great restaurant and swimming pool. However, each time I have stayed here I have had problems with their WiFi; as an AOL user I was unable to get to aol, but was forced into Yahoo - I have no account with Yahoo, so could not use my email.

Disapointed

We thought that E16 each for half a glass of champagne pre-dinner was exorbitant. We were then put in an outer dining room by ourselves, I ordered foie gras, the portion was tiny. We then waited at least half an hour for our main courses - having complained to the head waiter they arrived but, again my husband's turbot was tiny. In the morning they tried to charge E25 each for a continental breakfast, which we refused to pay.

Relaxing

We had a lovely stay. Staff were wonderful and bed great. Only negative is no tea / coffee facility in the room.

Wonderful

Everything about this hotel is luxury. The rooms are sumptuous, with gorgeous comfort throughout. The hotel is cosy and decorated with beautiful fresh flowers everywhere you go. We didn't have breakfast, but enjoyed eating in the restaurant on our first night. Staff are fantastic. The only down was that during our stay the water in the indoor pool was really freezing cold which we never asked about, because we were out and about and didn't have time to use it again anyway.

Travellers

Arrived late in day Good checkin and room was comfortable. My wife and I both had difficulty getting out of the bath as there was no rubber mat. Meal superb staff attentive. Comfortable restaurant but make sure you book in advance. Sadly our night was disturbed by some very noisy and inconsiderate neighbours who rang our room in error and talked loudly in the corridor outside our room well after midnight

Great resturant but room was disfunctional.

Our room was very disfunctional and small. Bathroom would not accomidate two persons, not much room between the walls and the bed. Breakfast was great and the dinner at the resturant was excellent.

Beautiful room

Lovely hotel to end our honeymoon Very comfortable room and a lovely base for Epernay. Well decorated and clean. It is a short drive to Epernay though so will need to either drive or get a taxi. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. I would definitely recommend it. We didn't eat in the evening so unable to comment. I would also like to highlight excellent service from the concierge, especially when we arrived and it was raining. He kindly came out to greet us with an umbrella. Hotel is on the expensive side but as a treat it is the perfect place to stay.

This was our first stay at the hotel and hopefully it will not be our last. The hotel and grounds were lovely and the staff helpful and professional. We had an excellent evening meal in the restaurant. All in all a great hotel which lived up to our expectations.

Lovely hotel in the Champagne Region of France

We stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of September. The staff was very helpful and attentive - from the porter to the front desk staff. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant on two of the evenings of our stay. The food was great and the staff were both knowledgeable and attentive. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a well-run comfortable hotel in the Champagne region.

Not a five star hotel - outdated decor and bathrooms. We constantly had ants in our room.

Lovely stay at the heart of Champagne region

We had a wonderful stay, hotel is located close to Epernay but has a country feel with beautiful views and garden. The building is charming and well maintained, and our connecting rooms were spacious and comfortable. Everyone was helpful although front desk could have been more proactive in sharing information or offering to make reservations (we did ok on our own but could have been a nice extra touch). Epernay was a fun experience, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was great as well.

Excellent hotel and lovely staff. The restaurant is a must visit.

Great hotel, most suited for persons driving

Nice hotel,, lovely gardens, great dining, all amenities available. However a bit of a distance from the town and commute was a challenge, therefore most appropriate for guests with own transportation

Not impressed

Had a quiet stay with good service, nice enough room but very unsupportive bed. Hard to maneuver little things like charging electronics or drying hair/getting ready in morning. Restaurant is overpriced, pretentious and overrated. Filet of beef had no taste and was wrapped in pork lard that overwhelmed any taste that the beef may have had. Sea bass was acceptable. Langoustines starter completely tastekess without imaginations, one tasted like fish indicating it was not fresh. We believe this was the cause for severe stomach issues days following. Fois gras was tasteless? Way too many waiters interrupting and one that was just plain typical French arrogant. Few is any spoke English. Breakfast was 25 euro pp for bread and tea / coffee which is automatically charged to room. Advice, go to town to eat. A decent bistro better than here at 1/10th cost. Front desk Cristina was very pleasant and we enjoyed sipping champagne in back gardens. Bartenders were excellent!

An excellent place to stay

We stayed at the La Briqueterie for two nights en route to Provence. It was a very pleasant experience. The room, the staff and the restaurant service and food were excellent. The hotel has beautiful grounds overlooking the vineyards of the Champagne valley.We definitely recommend it. They made an error on our bill and overcharged us 150 Euros but this was a genuine error which they accepted and refunded immediately.

Best place in Epernay

This is our second time and it is our favorite place in Epernay. The GM Kinsley always make our stay pleasant. Excellent place!!!!

Beautiful and accommodating

Beautiful hotel with lovely decorated rooms. Amazing food and wine/champagne selections. Had a wonderful sommolier pick out a local bottle to go with dinner and the chef prepared me a special vegetarian meal to meet my dietary restrictions. Highly recommend this wonderful place!

Loved everything about this place !

Loved everything about it ! Such a beautiful property- the gardens were amazing- fountains, flowers and the rooms were perfect- great decor, roomy, lots of light- great beds, great baths- the restaurant was fabulous-on so many levels- food, drinks, service- a very memorable experience , only complaint was that our visit was too short !

Amazing stay

the service was fantastic, the room was very comfortable and clean. Its is very well located as it is only a short drive to Epernay. The restaurant was excellent and the spa made our stay even more enjoyable.

High class hotel near motorway

Wonderful experience from the moment we arrived- staff were helpful and friendly. The spa was great- both of us had relaxing massages. The meal was up there as one of the best!

Second Stay

This hotel is in a great location for champagne buying and as a stop on route to the Alps. It doesn't come up to the mark in comparison to other Relais hotels we have stayed at. The room is adequate nut the loo and bathroom are absolutely minuscule and contortion is the order of the day in the former. The entrance security light went off and on all night and unfortunately shone straight into our room. All in all well suited by location as not much else around. I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel for any more than that.
