This is not the best option if you have small kids or lots of stuff. There is no elevator from the parkade. Although we felt safe, not having staff in the building could cause one to feel less protected.
Staff was very accommodating when things came up! It was a good distance to walk to the main area.
The room was very clean. I was there to ski so I am happy to see there’s a sunshine village shuttle stop nearby.
Perfect location. Room was clean. Amenities were really great. Staffs were kind.
Great
Nicely updated room, we were on the top floor and it had beautiful vaulted ceilings which made the room feel extra spacious! Very clean, comfy bed, and quiet location. It’s a bit further down Banff Ave from the super busy core, which made it quiet, and parking was easy! Still very walkable and accessible to everything you need. We travelled with our dog and they provided treats and a little toy for him!
Beautiful spot
Staff was great , check in/out was easy and quick
Was good underground parking 5”10 for anyone whos interested in height spec
Large rooms, amazing staff, clean and comfortable
Th Red Carpet Inn was good value and in a great location for the main street of Banff - food, shuttles and shopping. Having to go next door to check in, and therefore having no staff on hand at the property was a little frustrating. Also, a breakfast option would be good.
Good
You need to go to Irving's (next door) for checking in and out. Other than that all good. Close by to public transportation and walking distance to downtown and shops.
We stayed for 3 nights and were celebrating our first anniversary so they provided a beautiful superior room with king bed and a complimentary wine bottle to celebrate our special day. The rooms were super clean too and had a mountain view. The only thing I didn’t like was the room didn’t had so much space to walk around but for two people it was a nice stay. Thank you
Overall our stay was great, we had a few some issues with our coffee machine not working, and the door to our patio being frozen shut even with the heat cranked at 28. The hotel room was overall clean, and larger then most hotel rooms
Not great but not bad. The public areas were a bit run down and tired but the room looked to be relatively recently renovated. Very comfortable beds and the rate was the best in town this weekend. I’d stay here again.
Room was clean and cozy, walls aren’t very sound proof. Parking was a nightmare with no help from staff.
All good.
A good experience
Close to Red Carpet. Service great and food tasty.
The only reason for the 4 stars is that the room was a bit warm.
Very small rooms. Poor room temperature regulation. You’re paying for location.
Great stay in Banff
Perfect location, spotless cleanliness, incredible staff, and very budget-friendly. I’ll definitely stay here again!
Location is good, walkable and if taking the bus there is a stop at the front of the hotel. Room is spacious and the lobby is a good addition. Front desk was amazing. Only problem is the bed sheet have yellow stain and ripped.
Simple, clean and comfortable accommodation.
Pet friendly
Amazing experience had in Red Carpet
Everything was good
Enjoyable stay
Very comfy bed and quiet. Location was within walking distance of the town.
We booked the place during black friday for around $30 per person. Super cheap for the quality of stay!
Perfect in more ways than one
Hotel was clean, cars are able to park underground but if you have a truck they don't fit (parking is still available above ground for those) The room did what we needed, which was provide a place to sleep at night, we did not spend much time in the room other than that. My only complaint is the hallway was extremely hot and the rooms were warm and very dry as well.
Our room was clean and spacious. We loved it.
Great location but alittle noisy
Not fancy or luxurious but a perfect base for a snow trip to hit Sunshine and Lake Louise. 24/7 front desk for late checkin/early checkout, spacious clean room, underground parking, hot tub for the post ski/board recovery, easy walking to everything in downtown Banff - what more could you want?
We could hear the maids bright early on their radios, talking to each other. Pillows were bad and check in was slow.
Great spot, great price
Great Value
At first we were a bit hesitant of our room placement but it ended up being fairly quiet (except for the early morning shoveling/people scraping their windows). The value was good for what we got. Bed was decent, hot tub unfortunately wasn’t very hot. Walkable location.
Good location. Clean rooms. Good staff service!
Room was a good value for the dollar. Carpet could definitely use a good cleaning, but the rest of the room was fine. Parking was free, but good luck finding a spot unless you’re there very early. Be prepared to find something on the street or make alternate arrangements.
Comfy beds
The hot tub was a great experience, small but enough for us. Unfortt, the timer was broken so hard to measure the 15 mins and encourage people to take turns. The parking is very limited, specially for big vehicles. I would encourage them to not allow cars in the back alley when they can fit underground, otherwise trucks get out of space during the peak of the season. Our room was clean, but the first night we had only 2 towels for 4 people. As there is no reception, it was too painful to call in the middle of the night to the next door hotel for help. Second night everything was resolved. Location is not great in winter, as you have to walk many blocks to the town center and if it's below 0 it's not funny. Parking in the town center is also very very very limited so not really an option. Staff was great, super friendly!!
Love love love
Had a great stay. Room was renovated, clean and tidy. The hallway looks a bit old but not a deal breaker. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Just for information, the front desk is located in a different hotel next to this one. Good stay near the town centre. Recommended!
I liked the little balcony that came with the room! Just enough to step outside for some fresh air
I looking good amazing room 2 queen bed and bathroom I’m been many red carpet I like it
Good
Decent Banff hotel good price
Easy checkin, available parking and only a short walk to downtown banff. Room was clean and comfortable.
The place was great! Only issue was a lot of noise from the hot tub area. Probably bothered me because I wasn’t invited!
It was fine.
This was a great property. It is very overpriced in the summer, but super reasonably priced in November. The only thing is that when you arrive you have to pay an additional 50$ to what you agreed to pay on Expedia. So my room ended up being more expensive than I planned. I wish they were more transparent about that when you book that there will be additional fees.
Surprised to see fresh updated room in an older facility! Clean and comfortable. Rocky Mountain soap products supplied for hair and body wash! Staff were very nice!!
Had a awful check in, on my first night. Given wrong information on check in by the staff member but returned later that evening and service provided was much better.

Good experience.
Good for the price. Good location, very close to shops and restaurants.
Todo estaba perfecto solo que el colchon tenia un poso en la parte de en medio la Limpienza es exelente la tv no es smart no puedes ver mas cosas solo la tv local
It was an excellent spot. However, the hot tub was filthy. It's probably not your fault, I saw two guys going in naked just with their towels on, who didn't shower. Can't think of a way to enforce the rules.
Fantastic stay and would definitely recommend, especially for the location. Staff were excellent!
Reasonable cost, clean room, friendly staff.
A bit noisy facing the street Clean room and very comfortable bed.
Rooms have heaters and air conditioners that both need to work to keep room at normal temperature. Heater heats up too hot, so A/C needs to run every 10 minutes at a VERY LOUD NOISE, to keep room habitable. Reminds a Flinstone operation .
Parking is limited and very tight for larger vehicles, typical for Banff though. Hotel is showing its age and room cleaniness could be improved. Carpets and walls in the room had some brown stains. The top side of the bathroom sink cabinet doors was yellow... also, the hot tub could of used some cleaning.
We enjoyed the hot tub and the little view from it. We also liked the mountain view and the patio area to stand and enjoy the view weather permitting.
As others have said you dont get alot for your money. Its a basic hotel. The red carpet itseld has no reception and you have to check in/out at the hotel next door. The hotel had no facilities itself. other than parking. However the room was nice, decent size and clean and spacious bathroom. Good location. Town centre is an easy walk and there is public transport nearby. Fine for a short stay.
Banff is expensive so you don't get a lot for your money but it was fine for a quick night through town.
I am ok with the property but I am very disappointed with Expedia’s assistance or lack of assistance
Mid-range option for Banff
This hotel is located in the quieter section of Banff but still within walking distance to most dining and shopping options in town. Good room size with a sizeable bathroom and limited view of the Rockies. Breakfast was not included but its restaurant boasts for serving the best in town. Parking is free too. It would be great if there was a kettle for boiling water.
Good location
Noisy, decrepit, no facilities or amenities, limited parking. Lobby isn’t even in the same building. No face towels. Very loud heater.
No Frills, Walk to Town
No frills hotel option walking distance from downtown Banff. Negatives: creaky spring mattresses, loud A/C and street noise, old TV, first floor smelled like smoke, no elevator to parking garage. Positives: Saved hundreds of dollars compared to the big lodges, big free parking garage good shower and soaps, nice chair, Keurig/K-cups, big room. Overall worth it for an overnight or short stay from Calgary but I wouldn't book for your honeymoon here.
The outrageously high price for the room did not at all correspond to the low quality of the hotel or the room itself. This is an old building that has not been updated in a number of years. The floor creaked, there was the smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway, wallpaper was peeling, etc, etc
I’ve stayed here many times before and always found it enjoyable
Staff was responsive and helpful but place is a little worn out...400/ night is a real stretch
Good location
Red carpet inn was quiet place to stay and I love the toiletries..rocky mountain brand smells good !
For the cost of the rooms per night this property is way below par. Our air conditioner made noise all night a loud rattling noise which wound up being a severely full filter. They don’t lock down the outside doors at night and one of the doors on the 2nd floor coming up from the stairs doesn’t even have a lock. The housekeepers yell down the hall talking to each other during the day and the walls are paper thin. I would NEVER stay in this facility again. I told the people at the front desk when I checked out this am but they didn’t care at all no I’m sorry for the inconvenience or anything.
The soap products they have are made locally and the lemongrass was the best
We parked in underground and barely made the 5’10” clearance was not evident where the outside parking was. Staff was excellent cheerful and extremely helpful Room 224 was great enjoyed the balcony and scenery
Our room was ok, no closet and only 2 hangers. Room was updated but rest of hotel is very run down and old.
I was disappointed in the property. They did allow us to park our car in the morning then we checked into our room an hour early. The hotel is very dated and a bit off kilter. The floors slop, room doors are all over the place. We entered our room on a warm Fall day to find the heat going full blast. We tried to turn it off and turn on the AC. Nothing worked. We called maintenance and they couldn’t figure anything out so they unplugged everything and brought in a mobile AC machine the size of a large suitcase. It had to have a large tube go out the window so we used all our towels to cover the opening so bugs wouldn’t get in. A few hours later we returned and the room temp was good. My daughter wanted to take a shower and within a minute, the bathtub was not draining and the water was up around her ankles. Again we called maintenance and the same man came and repeatedly plunged the tub and finally had to put chemicals down to clear the clog. He came back an hour later and ran the water and said we were good. Add to that, an empty conditioner container and no cleaning service the three nights we stayed. I was disappointed as the hotel had good ratings and I was paying over 400 a night. I expect better! Was this room not used previously that the cleaning service didn’t know the bathtub didn’t drain? Why didn’t anyone try to fix the AC/heat issue while we were out of the room.
Overall enjoyed it
We really liked our stay. Don’t really need to use the room much though but the layout worked really well for us. We were lucky enough to stay on the top floor and enjoyed our view. Wish the parkade was a bit taller and that we didn’t have to check in at Irwin’s first.
Great
Our last night in Banff after 10 days of camping, nice an d comfortable
Great hotel, the front desk staff were super friendly and accomadating
Nice place. Would stay again.
In a great location. Room was comfortable and large. Great soaking bathtub! Parking was underground with no elevator. Had to use stairs to main floor then use elevator. Pet friendly 🐕
This is a tired old Motel that has no right to be charging $500 a night. No coat-hangers!!! No cupboard space.
It was what I was expecting and hoping for.
Basic accommodation but lacking in storage space for clothes (hanging and drawers).
DO NOT STAY HERE
If you are expecting two bedrooms, as the listing states you will instead be faced with ONE bedroom and another bed in the sitting area of the hotel room as soon as you walk in. In addition, said sitting area has no A/C nor any screens on the one narrow window so there is no way to get any air in this room. Probably because of this the room smells moldy. When we asked the front desk (of the neighboring hotel as this hotel does not have a front desk) they tried to remedy the situation but there were no screens that they had that would fit the window so they gave us the fan that was behind the front desk! They tried to help in any way they could but there were things that could not be solved. The condition of the room and what meager furnishing it had, the lack of any dresser or table in the bedroom that had a door, no closets at all anywhere. We did ask for luggage racks so we would not have to place our luggage on the floor and the helpful front desk next door brought them over. The entire hotel room did not feel clean and the bathroom sink was dirty. This hotel needs to be shut down and renovated before operating any longer!!!
It is close to the Banff town.
Great
Good hotels at Banff
Overall clean but old. Definitely needs upgrades. Beds were comfortable. Close walking distance to restaurants. Horrible parking. Don’t recommend for any large suv or pickups.
Decent place in the town of Banff
It was good. Location was very good. Staff was very welcoming. Would have been better if the rooms had a closet. Nice and clean washrooms. Very comfortable beds.
My wife and I both woke up with bites all over our body, stay away from this hotel.
Poor customer service. Zero cleaning service

Included underground parking is a great perk. The room was very nice and it was very quiet. The soaps in the room smell heavenly, so much so we bought the same to use at home. Downtown is a quick walk, and a number of coffee shops within a block. I would happily stay at Red Carpet again.
