I was attending a meeting at the conference center but specifically chose to stay at Raganelli since I’ve stayed there before. The front desk manager and assistant are so welcoming and kind. The assistant was especially helpful with map directions. This is an outstanding Rome choice, close to the Vatican and much more, and the price is right.
This is close to Vatican City and public transportation.
The people are lovely. The room is spacious, but the neighborhood feels sketchy and the hotel is dated, totally fine for one night, but we would not have been comfortable for more.
The family loft was beautiful. It was comfortable for a family of 4. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They always greeted tou with a smile. It was a quick and easy ride to the airport from the hotel.
Friendly staff. One of them insisted we had breakfast before we left to our destination. The cafeteria wasn’t opened yet, yet he insisted we at least had coffee. We felt safe here. Very quiet.
Great spot, amazing staff
really clean hotel and well ubicated
close to airport and many Rome attractions.
Liked the dining options that were walkable. Relatively Close to airport.
Not recommended at all
I found a lot of hair on the bathroom. The room has a strong smell of humidity. The bed and pillows uncomfortable. The lobby and The breakfast is fine.
My score for this hotel is 4
The food is very poor, there is no vegetable salad, the beds are very poor And uncomfortable, service in the lobby is reasonable and no more, there is not always a representative in the lobby, the elevator makes problems, the hotel is away from the center area. I give a score of 4
Staff service was good. Wish their pillows were fuller/airy. They can add one more chair in the room
Staff were incredible!! Could not fault one bit, they were so friendly and went out of their way to cater for your every need! Made our stay even better!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful in recommending places nearby to visit and answering our questions. I feel like the hotel lacked in basic items, for example, there wasn't any UK plug sockets or USB ports to charge phones with, no water or tea available in the room, TV was very basic and didn't work on the first day we were there. However, the overall stay was very pleasant. Breakfast was a little limited but still tasty. The fifth floor has a roof top terrace where you can see the views anytime between a certain time. Could do with the seating being updated but the views are incredible. Decent hotel in a 20 minute radius of Vatican City but not too much locally around the hotel.
The staff was very helpful and courteous. Would come again.
Stay at Raganelli Hotel
Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only downside for us were the transport connections. Frequency of buses a bit erratic in terms of timing ( bus stop over the road from the hotel) and the connection to the metro was a 20 minute walk rather than the 10 minutes specified.
Nice, clean, renovated. Helpful staff A good option when you need to be in the Aurelia area. Metro station is not that close and bus takes some waiting time
Far away from restaurants and Close to the bus stations that are easier to Access for going to the centre
Good hotel located close to local transport links into the centre. Clean rooms and breakfast had plenty of choice.
Modern nice clean and helpful staff who explained travel routes into city.
Close to public transit to get into the center of Rome. Good Value.
Great location Great customer service Great room
Great hotel in the outskirts of Rome
Hotel is great ... very clean, modern and well thought through backed up by consistently wonderful staff. It is on a main road leading into the centre of Rome with not much in the local area (apart from an organic food shop three doors down - which was great, a Carfour a ten minute walk away and some restaurants a few minutes walk). So as long as you’re prepared for this isn’t great. And the location is reflected in the value. The journey into the centre adds something to your daily timeline if that’s what you want to do - it’s a long walk or bus ride to the nearest Metro station. Overall we were very happy.
Very small room and shower.
We found the staff at this hotel to be very helpful. As for the hotel itself, we found the room to be very small and the shower was extremely small. I'm 6ft 2in and 225 lbs and I could hardly move in this shower. The other problem we had was the lack of soundproofing. We could hear the people in the room above us walking back and forth.
Review
The hotel was great. It was about a 20 minute walk from the metro station.
Typical 3*
Dreadful hotel. The man at reception who checked us in was very nice and polite, but had a really dirty suite jacket. Our room was on the top floor, we had to get the lift and the walk up some stairs. The entrance to the three rooms was through what looked like a fire door. The room numbers were printer on piece of paper and stuck on using something like bluetak. The room itself was tiny, just half a meter around the bed, so no space to walk - something typical of a 3*, not a 4* that this hotel claims to be. The bed was comfortable and sheets looked clean. The bathroom looked clean, however, the shower basin was blocked and water started pouring out, flooding the room. The magnifying mirror was broken so was totally useless. This hotel is cheap compared to average prices in Rome, so if you are on a budget or not too fussy and need a place to crush this will do, but definitely is not great.
Modern hotel not far from Vatican
Really enjoyed how modern looking the hotel is & the cleanliness of it as well. Didn't like how small the elevator was, having to carry 20+ luggages because there isn't bellboy, & how rude the morning clerk was. Besides that, it was good.
very friendly and helpful staff. very clean and comfortable
Lovely comfortable Hotel
We had a lovely stay at the Raganelli, staff were very friendly and were happy to help.
An amazing stay
I payed extra for the 'comfort room' which i would definitely recommend: jacuzzi bath and a huge bed! The breakfast was okay, for me the croissants had far too much sugar on them and the milk for cereal wasn't kept cold, the juices were too sugary etc etc - but that's just my taste i think! As we stayed in Italy's "winter" the air con was not on, even though the weather was lovely therefore my boyfriend found it difficult to get to sleep as it was too warm. Nonetheless, the staff were amazing, the room and the hotel itself were lovely, very modern which I loved! The only thing i struggled with was finding my way. I didn't have internet on my mobile so I used a map which I do know how to do, nonetheless Rome itself was difficult to explore as there are minimal signs e.g. no sign posts saying "metro this way" and there wasn't bus times on the bus stops etc but we were really lucky with the buses apart from one evening on a Sunday which was understandable. The receptionist was very helpful giving directions and without him I would have been extremely stuck! So thank you for that ! :) Overall a lovely stay, the weather was great, and the hotel was actually not far from all the sights just getting a metro/bus pass 12.50euro each for 2 days unlimited use which was great! Price of food etc all brilliant. The restaurant that the hotel advises was amazing and not expensive and they give 10% for being at Raganelli! Thanks for a great stay.
Hotel fine, terrible location.
Clean room, nice bed, good nights sleep, basic but good breakfast buffet.
Clean, inexpensive hotel in high cost location.
A relatively inexpensive hotel on the outskirts of Rome. We were a little shocked at first to see how far from the centre of Rome we were.... however when we found our bearings, we realised that it was not too difficult to get to all the sights. The Rome metro is 10-15 minutes walk, once on the metro everything is easily accessible. Not too arduous for us as we are reasonably fit and our boys are in their late teens. Less able walkers and those with small children may find it a bit more challenging. The hotel itself... comfortable, clean and acceptable for a city break. Not for those who want relaxation and/or hotel amenities.
Raganelli
Enjoyed the hotel and its amenities, great service clean room and convienient to bus,and metro, good price for rooms to
Nice Hotel just outside of Rome
The Hotel is located slightly outside of Rome but easy to get into centre using the metro. The Hotel is modern and clean but rooms need some updating
Flooded Room in a Chic, but BUDGET hotel!
My single room (room 334) was small, but clean and chic. However, the bed was harder than a college dormitory mattress and there was a big pile of lent on the decorative pillow. The main issue was the shower. Not only did the shower not contain a tray to hold shower gel, etc, but there was no barrier to prevent water from escaping from the shower. Although I noticed this lack of a barrier, I assumed there was a slant to the shower floor to keep the water inside. Otherwise, I would not expect the hotel to rent the room. I was wrong. When I got out of the shower, not only was the bathroom flooded but also my room. My luggage got wet. The entire floor was covered in water. At 1 am in the morning, I just wanted to sleep. Instead, I had to move to another room. This room had the same mildew smell as the first one (I suspect it too had flooded). However, the shower in the other room (room 444) had a tray and water barrier. This shower did not flood. I learned from the hotel staff that room 334 has flooded in the past. Therefore, management negligently failed to install a simple barrier AND continued to rent the room. Luckily, a portrait I had purchased in France was not on the floor (in its packaging) because it would have been damaged. The floors in both rooms were coming up around the edges, especially between the room and bathroom, which further suggested water damage. I informed the staff of the horrible, unhealthy smell and of course, the flooded room.
Not your typical Italian Hotel
Booked this hotel because it was very modern and it was a welcome change from the usual traditional hotel. Great advice from reception regarding buses etc so easy to get into town and back.
Close to public transit. Easy to use
Upon arrival got room before check in, staff amazing. I could not connect to the internet so was assisted. Shuttle was ordered for the airport. Breakfast was very good. Beds pillows comfortable.
Staff where amazing
Staff where amazing can't fault them at all from the maid service to the desk Clark's our bathroom although spotless needed updating their was a slight damp odour and the air con in our room was not working very well it made all the right noises but didn't do much for cooling the room. The room itself was more than adequate looked really nice and the bed was very comfortable and the room was always made up every day to an extremely high standard breakfast wasn't brilliant but we would definitely go back to stay in a heartbeat a credit to all the staff.
Perfect spot and close to transit!
Hotel was just as expected! Very accommodating and the staff was beyond helpful to our group that navigated Rome by foot and public transit. Well done!
Great Location
Walking distance to everything within 40 minutes, great restaurants nearby, shopping nearby.
Good location. Clean rooms, breakfast was so so, staff are
the 2 twin size beds were hard and one had a hole in the middle. when I turned the mattress over one of the springs was sticking out of the mattress with a sharp point that I almost stabbed myself in my hand.
It was good
Economically ok
Very small room .
worth the money
Breakfast was great. quiet and clean place.bus stop down the street.i would stay there again.
2 adults 2 kids 4 nights.
This hotel is great and delivered. this was a July 4 day stay , the hotel organized pick up and drop off at airport ( extra fee). the hotel was clean , modern, for European standards quite roomy. Three bus stops from a major subway station. Hotel staff was very friendly they speak English French and German. Very helpful finding the fast way to the major tourist sites. Two nice restaurants in walking distance. Minimarket in walking distance ( water wine, beer, fruits, italian snacks). rooftop terrace nice to sit down and have take out pizza and drinks ( bring your own or get from hotel bar). and most important the air conditioning did work. breakfast ( large selection of italian breakfast) and Wifi included in room charges. would go there any time again. Hotel very clean no weird smells. one of the best, reasonable priced hotels in italy, that we stayed at.
Newly renovated hotel with friendly staff
Newly renovated hotel. Very clean and modern. Especially the front desk, buffet and cleanning staff are all very nice and accommodating. Traveling 5 cities, we can say they are the best and they make a big difference.Very convenient to take bus and metro.
Clean and comfortable
Very clean and comfortable not centrally located but very good if you don't need to go to the city center
Pleasant Stay
Great location at Aurelia. Bus stop is just outside hotel to go to Vatican City. Taxi only costed under 10 Euro. The hotel is clean and appears newly refurbished. Air condition in the room is a major strength. The staff was very friendly. Really enjoyed soaking the sun and watching the sunset at the 5th Floor Open area which was free! Great experience altogether
Suited Our Needs
This hotel is a bit out of central Rome, so if you are not confident exploring and walking around I'd find somewhere closer. It was great for us. 20 minute walk to the metro then €6 a day for unlimited pass. Staff are really helpful. Breakfast room was clean with the usual cold meats and cheese. Coffee machine and pastries. Wifi was poor, paid €10 for the duration of our stay which was refunded after not being able to log in. I'd book a transfer through shuttle direct for only £20 which saves the hassle of lugging cases around and trying to find the hotel. Door to door is a much better option.
nice hotel
Nice to family. Fancy room, good condition and delicious breakfast. Staffs are kind and friendly.
Near a busy road but very efficient double glazing
I don't know what you expect me to write as I have answered all the questions above but it was a very comfortable room. Tastefully decorated hotel. Breakfasts were very good. Only 15 minutes walk from the nearest metro station - 3 stops to the Vatican! We would certainly stay here again.
Everything was fine
Great place for the money, very close to the vatican too
Raganelli Hotel Experience
It was ok, except that the staff made me feel bad because i booked through hotels.com and since I didn't pay full price for the room i didn't deserve good quality customer service. They also wanted me to pay extra for using their internet service. The rooms look way better in pictures than in reality. Too far from the center if you don't have a car or you don't know your way around
Great base for a short stay in Rome
We were a bit aprehensive when approaching the hotel but it's lovely on the inside. The receptionist was very welcoming and the cleaners were most helpful when we were having trouble with our keys. The room was adequate. Very basic but clean and a nice modern bathroom. The breakfast selection was good, constantly topped up and they played lovely soothing music - a great start to the day! There are buses that get you to the vatican in around 15 minutes and you can change to one to central Rome which takes around 20-25 mins and they ran right up until midnight. The hotel is only 20 mins from Fiumicino airport as well. The only issues we had were that we had a room at the front and the main road was quite noisey at night, as was the air conditioning unit. Overall a good base for if you're out visiting the sights of Rome all day
The staff is pleasant and accommodating.
This was not the first time I have stayed at the Raganelli. I have taken groups and Explorica tours to the hotel and the staff, rooms and accommodations are always nice.
Very pleasant hotel, reception staff excellent. A bit further than I thought from the Vatican, although bus and metro were good. I would certainly use again this hotel again.
Nice basic hotel.
Hotel is far from the centre but it is well connected by bus and metro. Has your basic needs but was disappointed that you dont even get a free bottle of water on arrival, there is a vending machine and a bottle of water was 2 Euros. Would be even better if you have tea making facilities - which you would get in the most basic hotels in the UK. There is also an added tax per person per night which was not made all that clear until you check out. Dont see the point of them adding the cost in the end. The breakfast was continental, which wasnt made clear either. It was ok but got a bit bored of it by the 2nd/3rd morning. Was a little noisey even though we faced the side street on the 4th floor. Bed was nice and comfortable though. The staff seems very nice and friendly. There are a couple of nice restaurants nearby which was useful when we went back to the hotel for early rest and didnt want to come back into town to get dinner. Generally a OK hotel and I would come again, just wished they made clear some of the things.
Lovely stay but expensive cab
It was amazing, very comfortable. Just what a person needs to recover from a jet lag. But the transportation was a bit expensive, well for a student at least. It was 50 euros one way. Because it was my friend and my first time in Rome, the people gave us excellent service. Our original room was not prepared, so they gave us a free upgrade. Breakfast is 5 euro but good. It sucked to have to pay a "double" tax: one through the website (which was about another $15 of tax) and one at the hotel (3 euros per person).
Not ideal location
The hotel was fine. I got there and checked into a very crummy room which had not seen a coat of paint or renovation in decades, it seemed. The next morning they switched me to a much nicer, modern room with no trouble. Breakfast was good although the lady running it was crazy .. She chased me back to my room when my friend and I took an apple from the buffet and left with it. We were hardly robbing the place of its food, just wanted to eat a piece of fruit while we got ready for the day. That felt extreme. Nonetheless other staff were all perfectly nice and normal and the hotel was fine. Location sucked - a long walk or bus ride to a metro. I'd probably not book here again because its far from central Rome.
Warning they have underground rooms
All in all it was okay, when we arrived we could tell right away this was no four star hotel, they tried to put us in a room that was located under ground, no sunlight very depressing. Luckily they had one more room above ground that we took. The breakfast was simply continental nothing special. The hotel was clean I guess it wasn't discussing but very dusty. However the staff was very helpful and spoke English a major plus. All in all for the money it was fine but I would not stay again. Just make sure your above ground :)
Good hotel for busy sightseers.
Stayed in superior room. Very nice, relaxing hotel to come back to after a full day's sightseeing. Helpful and friendly staff made the checking in and out process very easy. Free air conditioning in the room was a major plus. Free wifi was quite unstable but a nice touch. The gym next door, which the hotel's customers have free access to, is fully equipped and larger than expected. Hotel was a 10 minute walk from Cornelia Metro station which in turn was approximately 10 minutes train ride into the centre of Rome. Perfect hotel if you're busy sightseeing everyday.
Good hotel but far from center!
Nice hotel but the rooms facing the road is a bit noisy. The breakfast could be a bit more varied. After payment have forgotten to release the blocked amount from my account.
good experience
Very nice and pleasant to stay in... Really easy access to the airport ( we were driving) . Reasonable price
My requests ... my new room....
After few request in the hotel, was perfect. I would register my compliments to Sandro, manager, Francesca for her patience and Valerio, many thanks. Only thing let me down it was about coffee machine, and I love the gym. I will be back soon.
First time in Rome
Very nice and modern interior updates with a friendly staff. Would recommend for price, but would pay more to have stayed east of Vatican City.
Pretty good
Good, reception staff. Gave us a map and explained the sites on check in. 3 stops on a bus to metro from just up the road from the hotel. Breakfast not quite as good as a lot of places i have stayed in but o.k.
might get better in a few months.
I went not expecting much so I can't say I was fully disappointed. I'm sure that once all the rooms are renovated it'll be fine. For now I'll say that Rome gets cold in the winter so ask for extra blankets because the air con was pretty lame and the radiators weren't turned on. The bathroom was two thirds finished, the rest of the room still needed work. I was on the 6th floor and the WiFi reception was poor (if you're on three just get the euro pass and use you're phone as a hotspot). The staff were friendly in general but they did forget to give me back my passport on checking out. To be honest the huge taxi bill that was the result of this was in pay my fault (I should have remembered to ask for it). I'm sure that by the summer of 2013 it'll be a nice hotel.
The hotel isn't bad for the price. It is very far away from the Termini(Main train station). That would not have been an issue but the problem is in order to get to the closest Metro station we have to take a bus 246 which is horrible and takes forever to arrive. Secondly it doesn't stop on all stops, it only stops if you ping. And you being new to Rome won't know when to ping for the correct bus stop (unless u been here at least once). I would not recommend staying here simply because of the stupid bus 246. As for the room they aren't bad for the price... there is noise from the street and the sun will be shinning in your room, no helping that...If you want to sleep in don't stay here.
Good hotel for Rome visit
Could not make TV remote control working and never got a replacement. Staff very helpful.
None
Nicely situated to up on public transportan to the Vatican city
Not a 4-star. OK to get through.
Pros: Room is clean; Good breakfast; A very good gym nearby that can be accessed for free. Cons: Cigarette smell in non-smoking room; Double bed is made of two single bed combined together; Not so convenient public transportation (bus after metro); TV is old and tiny (10 inches screen or so..) Another important note: This hotel is NOT 4-Star as advertised by Expedia. It's 3-star actually.
Great for tourists
Staff is awesome and very knowledgeable about entire area. Only 10-15 minute walk from metro or 5 minute bus ride. Things to change- get rid of carpet and redo bedrooms to match entrance Things to keep- staff is absolutely awesome! I booked with my fiancé and we went through Rome no problem since they gave so much help! If it had free wifi and breakfast included it would have had 4 stars no doubt.
Raganelli Hotel
We spent 3 nights at the Raganelli Hotel. This was a pretty nice hotel. The beds were somewhat hard, and thankfully we were so tired by the time we got back at 9-10 pm that we didn't care. The other thing we need with a teenager is wireless, and it was only available in the hallway and bar area, not in the rooms. The breakfast was above expectations, they had many items to choose from and did not skimp on the hours or items served. Many different types of croissants, rolls with salami, ham and cheese, fruit, expresso/coffee machine, juice machine, toast and cereals...much better then many of the hotels I have stayed at in Europe. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Getting to Rome was pretty easy...go out front of hotel and turn left--walk 15 min to main intersection and go left, about a block and get on metro. A day pass for unlimited rides is 6 Euro and it takes you right to most attractions in Rome...really just one train so easy to navigate..we tried the bus and got confused so got off at first stop..the metro was clean and easy, would suggest the metro. Overall a good hotel and stay was quite nice...no complaints except the internet...A/C worked well and we were cool at night with it on...I would definately stay here again, was good hotel for the money. Parking is free and though we got there at 11:30 pm, we found a spot up front, otherwise its street parking...easy to find on GPS...hope this helps!!
Hotel is being remodeled....The staff was great, for the price it was good, but it is about a 30 min bus ride from the Vatican.
I had a car so we had to stay outside the city center. very nice hotel with parking, you will need to rely on the metro system which is very doable.
Bad Location, Not for families with small children
Good News- The staff was friendly and spoke english. They helped you get to where you wanted to go and had maps available. -Room Size- The room size was a adequate and big enough for families. Bad News- Location: It is .9 miles away from the nearest metro, which can be a long way if you have small children or carrying luggage. It can really take a toll on you if you've been walking in the city all day like we did, or raining. They have 2 bus stops that can take you to and from the metro close to the hotel, but sometimes it took 15 minutes on a good day and an 1hr+ on others. There are some restaurants about 5 minutes away with okay food. -Breakfast: Breakfast was okay, there was no hot food, only pastries, cereals and cold meats and cheese. I suggest buying something or saving money to get a good breakfast elsewhere. - Hotel- The hotel looks nice, but you can tell they did a poor/cheap way of making it look elegant. Wood was not lined up and we had a leak in our ceiling that soaked the bed. We called the front desk at 0730 and left the room at 1100. No one came by to tell us they were fixing it or move us to a new room. We had to ask for new room later that night and the lady was nice to give us a new one. We went to our old room to get our stuff and saw that they only moved the soaked bed and didn't do anything else. Bottom Line: You can find a better hotel for a little more or less closer to the city and save yourself some headaches.
Rome is beautiful, this hotel is not.
If you like no ac, no water (due to construction), dirt, ants on the floor, rotted out windows, door molding laying on the floor, foot prints on the walls, and no stoppers in the sink and tub then this is the hotel for you. I personally would pass. The only way this gets 3.6 stars is on a scale of 20. The hotel is under construction but by amateurs. Don't think the tv will help you forget reality. 15 inch with 4 usable off-air channels. On the plus side the breakfast was better than most American versions. Location near a bus stop was good. I thought prepay was to cover all fees and taxes. But they still managed to ask for a city tax before I could leave. (the
Quite a nice place
It was a fair hike from the station, definitely take the bus. But the staff were some of the best I have ever encountered at a hotel and the hotel itself looks a bit dingy but was actually really nice inside
hotel raganelli
clean hotel. breakfast fine - cereals, pastries and toast - bread, cheese, meat and variety of drinks. hotel room cold. shower lovely. Hotel just one bus ride too far out of centre. If not for this would recommend to everyone
Nice Hotel
We booked this hotel on Expedia's 'unpublished rates' as a 4-star hotel. While I don't believe it's a 4-star hotel, we were very pleased with it for the price we paid. Initially, after booking it and reading the reviews, I was very worried about the location, noise, and service that others had left negative reviews about and I actually tried to cancel it (which I couldn't). However, after arriving at the Hotel, we found it to be very nice and pleasant. It exceeded our expectations. Our room was very clean (306 if I remember right) like new in fact, the bathroom looked like it had never been used before. Our room was very quiet, no street noise (our room was at the back of the Hotel) but the street that it is on is a busy street (as are most streets this close to City Center). The Staff was very nice, they gave us a nice map of the area and showed us how to get around and which buses to take and where to find them. After our first day, we got around town really well without any additional help, and it only takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on where you want to go (it's a big city). The breakfast was great, and they helped us get transportation back to the airport for a good price. No problems, pleasant english speaking staff, good value. I wish they had free wireless, that's my only negative comment, nowadays, I need unlimited Internet wherever I go.
Mixed feelings
Our experience is very good. Great service. Included breakfast not good.at all. Our room is the new remodeled one. We paid extra to upgrade.. Howeever, talking to other customers,we found they are very dissatified.with their room.. So ,if you stay here, get the remodeled room. Location of hotel is convenient for sightseing.. Very helpful, englisg speaking front desk.
Quality of the Hotel Raganelli
you must be very careful since the quality of the rooms is not standard, if you are lucky you can have a shower with massage, but if not you could end up in a room with an old bulbe TV, no air conditioned and very dirty....
Shuttle was NOT free!
Shuttle from airport was $40 euros one way for the 2 of us and stopped and various hotels. Return shuttle was private and pricey. Room was "OK" (Awful pillows, nice shower) helpful staff and decent breakfast and the bus to Rome central was easy to catch. The restaurants down the street were great!
Good Hotel
Nice clean and affordable
Good value for money
On arriving at the hotel (25 minutes from the Fiumicino Airport) the hotel looked a little unusual from the outside. Inside the welcoming reception area was a pleasant surprise. We checked in and was given our key. I had booked a triple room as I was travelling with on my own with my 2 teenage children. Our room was large and consisted of a king size bed and a single bed, with plenty of room for the suitcases. The room was slightly boring and could do with updating. Our bathroom looked like it had been transported from a 4* hotel it was fabulous, brand new and ultra modern. The room was very quiet seeing that the hotel was on a main road. The breakfast was housed in the basement and too had been updated, it was your typical continental breakfast but there was plenty of it and lots of fresh Italian coffee. The hotel is in the Aurelia area of Rome south west of the Vatican and not in walking distance to any of the places of interest. The hotel staff are very helpful and let you know how to get around Rome safely, there is a bus stop outside the hotel which takes you to the Vatican and another with will get you in the heart of Rome with in 25 minutes. The taxis are very expensive between 15-40 euros depending on where you want to go, so take the bus or Metro. There are restaurants on the street serving pasta and pizza's and also a Pharmacy and a few small shops. All in all it was a 3* hotel and not a 4* with good links in to Rome and very helpful staff.
Good hotel
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was/is being refurbished and we were given upgraded rooms which were beautiful but not quite finished! For example the air conditioning and safe were not working in one of our 2 rooms. The hotel is not central, but dont let that put you off staying there as the public transport into the city was excellent, easy and cheap. Overall a very nice hotel.
room for improvement. Staff excellent!
The reception staff, room service staff and the breakfast staff were fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. Rooms need updating. No tea, coffee making facilities in rooms, toilets/bathroom in desperate need of repair and upgrade. Shower falling apart, taps leaking, tiles filthy, bath stained, drains blocked, shower curtain filthy, shower rail broken and carpet in room dirty. sold as 4 star? (never in a million years). I have been a hotelier myself and worked as FOH Manager, and Deputy Manager, but never seen such bad quality of bathrooms. However, the staff should get 5*. Receptionists were very helpful providing information and assisting us with every request we made. They were very fluent in English too.
Great hotel, great staff and a bargain!
For the price this hotel was a really good find. Other reviewers have slated it which makes me annoyed as we enjoyed our stay 100%. The staff can't do enough for you, the breakfast is amazing with a wide choice of fresh food and drink each morning. The reception, bar and breakfast room all look as if they've been renovated recently whereas our room was a bit dated. When you're visiting Rome all you need is a comfy, clean room with air con and a decent shower, which is what you get here and it's cleaned daily. A 15 minute walk (or 5 min bus) to the metro and about 5 stops to centre. Don't be put off by other reviews, this is a Gem! :)
enjoyed our 5 days
We enjoyed our stay , staff friendly and helpful, restraunts handy good bus sevice, we would stay there again, value for money,
Raganelli Hotel, Rome - Complete Dump!
This place is a dump. Metal keys for the doors, musty smell in the rooms, bathrooms that flush sometimes, doors that creak open, a "rooftop garden" that sports two wilted plants and rusted furniture. It is far away from any attractions, or any metro station. The hotel is downright dishonest in calling itself four star - it is barely 2 star hostel-like accommodation. Look elsewhere for your stay in Rome.
not impressed
No telephone in the room it was broken since two months....Outside communication was very difficult... poor messaging system. The room was very small room, but the bathroom was very nice. The hotel is far form the metro station, with bad bus service,,, It's like all in Roma.
As cheap as it was, don't recommend it.
Expedia chose this hotel for me as part of the "Expedia Unpublished Rate" with the promise that it was a 4 stars hotel. I would not even give this hotel 2 stars. I asked the hotel staff at the hotel and they mentioned to me that they used to be 4 starts and were downgraded to 3 - Expedia, please update this hotel's stars rating. The first room they gave me had a broken bathroom door, the inside of the shower was dirty with mildew on the edges of the wall and the floor and the blinds to block the light in the morning would not close. I requested a new room and they gave me an "upgraded" room that was not any better but at least the bathroom door was working. Don't recommend it.
Not a four star hotel
I booked on line and hotel should have 4 star rating. In my opinion two stars are more than enough. Very small room with old furnishing and dirty bed headers. Bathroom had old leaking fictures. Room and bathroom had dripping condensate from A/C. As one night emergency stay near airport hotel was OK. Expensive shuttle service to airport. 75 Euros for 16 km ride.
needs updating
the hotel is very old 1960's and is in need of updating. they are in the process of renovating but still have a long way to go. when we booked this was rated as a 4 star, not even close. they are on a good bus route that connects to the metro and getting to termini train and bus station was only about 25 minutes away. breakfast was good and their service was great the staff were all very helpful. we were only 20 minutes from the airport (with no traffic). If you do not mind that it is old the hotel will be fine
A most pleasant experience.
Hotel Raganelli is situated approximately 12k from the centre of Roma. It is well positioned on the ATAC bus route and within easy travelling distance of the Metro. Everything was scrupulously clean in the room and bathroom and the staff went out of their way to make us welcome. My only recommendation would be to have tea and coffee making facilities available in each room. A most enjoyable stay and one I would repeat. There are also some excellent restaurants nearby that offer total quality at a much reduced price to those in the city.
Great staff, but that's all that's great
You'll see lots of reviews about how wonderful the staff is, and they are all true. If a nice staff is all that you need, this is the place for you. If you want comfort and reliability, I'd look elsewhere. I hope this review better informs you as to what you're getting yourself into before coming here. Our room was nothing close to what the photos look like. The bar and breakfast area was nice, the room definitely was not. Here's why: * the bathroom door did not close all the way shut * NONE of the four power outlets in the room worked (and the one in the bathroom sparked and turned off all of the power) * the toilet did not flush entirely (even when they cleaned the room there was still, um,stuff in the toilet when we came back later that day * the phone did not work * the wireless internet was expensive and unreliable * the air conditioning did not work * construction in the hall outside our door started at 8am * when these problems were reported they refused to change our room or do anything at all about it * this hotel is NOT close to anything as stated. public transport from Termini takes 1.5 hours! The staff was friendly and a pleasure to deal with but they didn't seem to have any options for doing anything to help other than being very courteous. I will certainly never stay here again.
Far away but great price
The location is a little tough (about 1.5 miles from closest metro station) But the price is great, the neighborhood isn't bad, the hotel has nice amenities and the hotel staff are exceptional. I really appreciate how they treated my brother and I particularly when we had questions for the front desk. If I find my way back to Rome I would love to stay there again!

Staff were excellent, terrace was beautiful, location was ok. A good restaurant close by and a small supermarket as well. Need a cab to go to city centre (20 min) or any major attractions. Small minor bathroom issues but we only stayed a few nights but staff were always quick and polite to help! Nice stay!
