Great Place!

Excellent stay in the heart of Auckland! Walking distance to many restaurants, bars, cafes. Just a 15 minute drive to the beach and 20 minutes to Auckland airport! The staff was very accommodating and allowed us to store some of our luggage after checkout before we headed to the airport. Great place to stay!

We enjoy our stay at the Quest Ponsonby because it is very close to family. We can walk most places we want. The staff are caring and reliable.

If you want to stay in Ponsonby then this is an ideal location. If you have a car then I would recommend booking as early as possible to get a spot.

Stay here a lot. Find it so convenient with everything in easy walk, rooms comfortable, clean, and well equipped.

Always use the quest for business accom but they are a nightmare to get hold of

Our stay was great for what we needed, it was very cheap and it was clean and a good location. Car parking on site is very secure however tight in a large vehicle. The room did not have a window you could see out as there were privacy shutters so we kept the blinds shut, okay for one night but maybe not any longer. Staff were great. It is a solid 3 star hotel in my opinion and a good budget option.

So nice having a "person" check us in and they were super nice and helpful so we felt spoiled like a proper hotel you know? They genuinely cared too so our anxiety was calmer!

I found the Quest Ponsonby an ideal place to stay while in Auckland. Its facilities are clean and comparable to those of the bigger hotels in the city.

Quest is very convenient to family we are visiting. Our room was small compared to other rooms we've stayed in at the Quest. We had no surfaces to lay our things out on and no drawers so that meant we could not empty our suitcase. That lay on the one chair available. Rooms are always clean and we will use the Quest next trip to Auckland. Hopefully, we will get a better room

We have stayed in this unit twice before. This time we notice the drawer handle on the cutlery drawer kept falling off the drawer, the filter on the front of the dryer fell off when we used the dryer, and the door between the bedroom and the bathroom was completely jammed shut and would not open. Everything else was excellent, bed was VERY comfortable, washer dryer combo good (except for fault noted above). Kitchen well stocked. We will stay here again, and probably ask for the same unit next time.

Great sized room for a quick over night stay. Shower pressure was great, staff were friendly and onsite parking was a bonus. Good location. However, lobby had an odour that wasn’t the nicest and A lot of street noise. Otherwise very happy with the stay.

The room we stayed in this time had been refurbished, which made it nice and fresh.

Ok for a bed for the night but wouldn’t want to stay too long. Reception closed at 4pm on Saturday which seemed early. Good location though and good to offer parking

Have stayed here a couple times before. Love the laundry facilities and the comfy bed. Location is close to Grey Lynn 🙌

Not rushing back

Certainly not rushing back to this place. Needs some work and the staff seem unengaged. Good location for walking and I would recommend street parking rather than the $30 per day they charge.

The staff were lovely and very accommodating. We had a last minute late check out which was not a problem. We left our car in the car park whilst we went for lunch, picked it up at 2.00pm. We had family visit and commented that the staff were very friendly. We stayed for two nights, our room was cleaned, bed remade and clean linen for us when we arrived back 😊 I love the location, perfect for walking around Ponsonby. Will definitely stay again.

Great location in Ponsonby, handy for arrival/departure and all local amenities at very reasonable price for the area.

Did not match description on website. Corridors and apartment doors looked like something from a cell block. Tile on kitchen floor broken, carpets looked dirty. Wardrobe door off runner. Bed linen and towels good. Had to question charges on checkout and ask for a receipt which i was not given, i asked the guy who checked me out to write down on my booking confirmation what i had been charged. They tried to overcharge me for parking, as i had email confirmation of the cost of parking he had no option but to refund me the difference. They should not charge you until you check out and agree the bill. Very disappointed i have booked other Quest apartments for my trip i hope the others are better than Ponsonby, not worth the money i paid.

Handy to shops restaurants and handy to motor ways

Always a pleasant stay, the Basin tap had no faucet filter so the water flow easily went every where if you were not extra careful. I always enjoy staying here so just pointing this out so can be fixed along with the cripmed hand shower hose. Room 315. Great place to stay and will saty again.

Outdated and Noisy

The Hotel is in dire need of a renovation compared to other hotels of similar price and location. We were disappointed from the moment we arrived. Despite advising the hotel that we were checking in late, we received no reply with instructions, upon arrival we had to make 3 phone calls before someone reluctantly came down to check us in. The room looked very worn out, stained carpets, dirty couches, the fridge froze our drinks, and the shower would not stay in position. The road noise was so bad, that it felt like there was no window behind the curtain and we were sleeping on the roadside. To get sleep, we spent our second and last night elsewhere. Will not be back!

Spacious, great air con, comfy bed, full kitchen, bars, restaurants and supermarket within walking distance. Only negatives were drier and dishwasher didn’t seem to work.

Comfortable bed. Unfortunately staff comms weren't great. I called down at 7am to ask about a later check out (after arriving very late the night prior from overseas). the person couldn't help me and said they'd get someone to phone me back. Nobody did. I called another two times to be told the same thing. Eventually I spoke to a grumpy person on reception who eventually agreed to a 30 minute later check out time. if they had told me this at 7am when I first asked it would have been OK but to constantly ring and chase to then be met by someone write gruff wasn't the best service sadly.

Great location and large rooms

Very convenient for the town. People in adjacent rooms were very noisy at 3am, so perhaps could do with more soundproofing. Overall though, the staff were helpful and friendly and I would stay there again.

Check in and check out are quirky. Be sure you know what time you are arriving and whether someone will be there to help you. Same with check out, which is a bit mysterious.

Room was clean and tidy. Not overly excited about no staff being present. But most disapointed by the fact that we were charged an additional $20 for using the carpark. That should have been notified at the initial booking phase....not buried in text! Bordering on deceitful

Ponsonby is a great neighbourhood to stay in. The front desk staff are very nice and accommodating. The office hours is what brings down the rating.

Room smelled like smoke even though all rooms are non-smoking.

Rooms that face the road are very loud. I could not sleep with earplugs and a noise app on my phone…

We were very satisfied with the one bedroom apartment. It was very clean and tidy and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. It was a 15-20 minute walk to Auckland CDB. We would recommend the apartments and would book again if we revisited Auckland.

Clean and comfortable and in good condition

Great staff and room. Lift wasn’t operation due to maintenance. Room was very quiet. Fantastic water pressure. Across the road from a beautiful park. Location was handy to transport, restaurants and a supermarket. Staff re-room us without incident. Very happy 10/10 rating.

The lifts werent working and when i asked when they went out they told me that day but when i spoke to other people who had stayed longer they said its been out for ages and they never informed me and i stayed solo with 3 young kids including a baby and had to carry my bags up 4 flights of stairs

Super handy location. Had everything I needed and very clean.

The two issues I had was paid parking and coming back late and no carparks in the garage and only spaces left are contracted parking spaces and red labelled parking... all threatening I would be towed. Also a Very heavy screen over the entire windows making the room look a prison. Thankfully I had the thought to look to see if they could be slid open. they can - but only half the window is cleared of obstruction. at least I got light on half the room... but if you are not strong.. you would not be able to slide them open. they are HEAVY

We chose Quest Ponsonby for its proximity to the city and Outerfields at Western Springs (under 30 minute walk back to the hotel after attending a concert). We parked the car ($20 per day) and didnt need it the 2 days we were in Auckland. Ponsonby is a busy and popular part of town, so noise from the streets below at night is to be expected - but it never kept us awake. Big ticks for the location and the Countdown supermarket just around the corner. The girl who checked us in was super friendly and made everything easy. Like many Quests, this one is getting a bit shabby around the edges but it is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. Will be back!

The studio pictures on app showed me a washing machine, dryer - none in my room. Also showed a small balcony but nothing. That was a bit disappointing. Room was tiny but very clean. Lovely comfortable bed and bedding.

Great location and the apartment had everything we needed

It was extremely clean & quiet. Very easy to get to from the airport. A little inconvenient trying to manoeuvre large travel bags through narrow access areas but we managed OK.
