Excellent experience, beginning to end. Jenna at the front desk is a gem, and a true asset to this establishment. My room reservation had somehow been cancelled, by a booking site, as you can imagine I was worried and stressed out.... I contacted the quest on Durham street directly. Jennas kind and confident phone manner, calmed me instantly ,she sorted it out quick smart. And added underground parking (which I recommend for easy transition, via lift , from car to room). I stay here regularly, and love it's location, right in town, easy walk to shops or park.

Quest on Durham is now our default option for stays in Tauranga. Walking distance to the shoreline and restaurants.. we can enjoy a drink for dinner and walk back home!

Nice place to stay, unfortunately there was roadworks during our stay but it was quiet by 6pm.

The room was ground floor next to a construction site. I'm sure there must have been other rooms available on the other side of the hotel, however do feel that when you book through a cheaper booking site, you get the worst room - happens often. The window closest to the top of the bed was also ill-fitting and so you could feel the draft through as the curtains are not big enough to fit the whole window. Good welcome and comfy bed though.

Jinna is great and friendly. She is helpful and flexible. Thanks very much! One minor issues was I found some broken wine bottle glass right outside of the lobby entrance in the next day morning but we were safe.

Construction site in front of window of room. Were told work had finished and no workers would be there. Open curtains in morning workers staring straight in both days. Wifi terrible dropped in and out.

Really disappointing service, the hotel called to say they had overbooked and needed to cancel. Expedia wont let me cancel a past booking so we have no way to get a refund. Have contacted Expedia and the hotel with no response.

Unsafe shower for elderly people, and the water temp was absolutely scalding. Otherwise well appointed by way of location.

Property was good for what we needed but, we had a construction site from our room, and our bathroom there was a hole covered by laminated paper. The bathroom had a jetted tub but we couldn't use it, which was disappointing.

Overall is perfect, The only reason I toke one star off is because the hotel did not have toothbrush and toothpaste ready for you in the bathroom. But everything else is great

That is was very clean and up to the standards we were looking for!

Beware carpark not easy to navigate in SUV or wide vehicle. Given 2 x single beds - overlooking a carpark being contricted right out the window. Spa bath was unusable? And plug broken - solution was a rubber plunger.

The room facilities were fine and what I expected, however it is clearly tired and well beyond the age that I would expect from a Quest. The entire room need updating, the bathroom was extremely old and tired, the furniture needs replacing, and the room decor needed a refresh/decorating. I have stayed in a lot of Quest rooms over the years and this was the worst I have ever stayed in and will not book this one again.

Location was fabulous. Check in and out was easy and front desk person was helpful and informative. Our rooms were comfortable spacious and clean. I like the option to recycle in the room and the washer/dryer amenities. Parking is a little tight with a large vehicle but i would definitely stay again

A laundry in the bedroom, that is really shocking! Supposed to have a dishwasher according to advertisement, but no dishwasher at all. Unfriendly reception, old kitchen and bathroom. Parking not available unless you pay extra. So disappointing and frustrating!

The unit was tiny and dated. Did not have property doors for privacy and windows for walls with the blinds on the outside (on the hallway side). One single bed in 2 of the bedrooms.

Very spacious 2 bedroom unit with good facilities. Easy walk to restaurants and cafes on waterfront. Only issue was noise inside the apartment. The master bedroom had a slat door so noise from the living room travelled in.

The receptionist was smiley and efficient. Our rooms were large and contained all that you could require for an overnight stay. It was close enough to the sea to give us a sense of relaxation and within easy access to The Strand.

Quiet, very comfortable, dark rooms with comfortable beds helping to unwind and relax. Location was central, enjoyable walking and close to festival, shops, restaurants if thats what u enjoy. Beautiful outlooks and decking to enjoy the sun. I would like to see improved access, key availability for the gym ie one key in use, staff couldnt say where or when it would be returned. Loved it and definitely go back. Thankyou

Was close to town, however I had booked 2 months prior and the view I got was of the carpark in construction! Disappointing!

Spacious room but dishwasher was out of order

The location of the property was great as it was close to Tauranga CBD - restaurants, bars and cafes. There was also free parking after hours on the streets nearby. There were no staff available pretty much the whole of our stay from check in through to check out - even though we checked in during staffed hours. The place is pretty run down but ok for what we needed it for but wouldn't stay again unless we really had to.

Great hotel, clean and the executive room very spacious and well organized. Found everything that one would need. The only downside were the heated mattress covers that had the heating plastic join right at my shoulders. And sleeping was a bit uncomfortable.

This hotel needs some work with fixing facilities with the rooms like bath tub , bath and tv also a lot of ants in the kitchen bench and floor and poor effort from staff to help fix or jus know know anything

Very disappointing! Our over priced 3-bedroom apartment was ground floor (as all the floors above are residential, deceived marketing) only had one face with windows, thus very dark. Only had one toilet, which had no lock and and old broken shower and the fan did not go. The drips from the ceiling were disgusting. One bed was a dusty old stretcher! couldn't believe it. 20m sq was an unused dark room at the entrance. Parking was frustrating, paying $15 to go in a carpark made for mini vehicles. We got our SUV stuck and parked outside. Hands down the worst hotel we've ever been in for $500. STAY AWAY!

The location was great. Close to town, the harbour and restaurants and cafes. The overall condition of the hotel is dated and my view was really poor of a car parking building half constructed. Gym facilities also weren't in operation which was a shame. Enjoyed the spa bath though. But all feels old.

Clean, Comfortable and Convenient

Have stayed at the Quest previously too, and have found the cleanliness, comfort and amenities at par or better than what is offered at most other accommodation in the vicinity.

Cleaner hadn’t properly cleaned toilets in some time - black mould around water line in one, and grime in bowl of other wheee brush hadn’t been to the back. Tea cups with tea drips around the rim. Black hair in the shower that wasn’t ours. A shame, because the staff kindly upgraded us because we had children. A lovely room, and excellent location. Hopefully this review will fix the lazy cleaner, because they were small but yuck things that let the property down.

Very basic but comfortable and clean. Quiet. A couple of improvements...Just being fussy.. Curtains even though block out do not cover gaps so light still filtered in. A cloth for wiping bench needed not just tea towels, more blankets available incase cooler and maybe sweetener sachets available instead of just sugar. Nice apartment would've liked to be elevated rather than first floor if that was an option

Nice large rooms

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious, clean and had everything you need, the bed was very comfortable. The location is great just a few minutes walk to The Strand with all the restaurants. We would stay here again.

Was told there would be daily housekeeping only to come back to our room and no cleaning had been done. They even made excuses to why they didnt clean our room. We had to go and request towels etc It was so annoying! We paid for 2 parking spots but the parking garage is so tight to drive around in & getting to the actual parking was a challenge- luckily its free parking on the side of the road in the weekend. Will never stay here again!

Kia Ora - unfortunately while staff were pleasant, the property as a whole felt tired. Specifically, the jetted tub in one room was out of order and the drain in that tub was also broken. Additionally, the lift doesn't work properly - it slammed shut as we were exiting and gave our 6 yr old a fright and knock on the head. Finally, the underground parking garage didn't have any warnings on size of vehicles and our SUV barely made it through the ramps after paying for it (plus the gate also tried to close on the vehicle when entering). Staff were friendly but with the above it was definitely disappointing. Nga mihi,

Nice big room and comfortable bed with soft sheets. It would be lovely to have some bottled water in the fridge tho or a mini bar as happy to pay. Slight smell of mould from the bathroom but none present so must be coming through drain. So many light switches very confusing be good if they were labeled! All in all a well set up self contained large studio apartment and was happy with my stay.

The property was spotless and our room was spacious and well equipped.

Fantastic hotel, really great they have a full kitchen and full sized fridge, along with a washer/dryer combo, everything you need to make the stay away from home more comfortable

The toilet was not working properly and the lever to change shower to bath was missing. We paid for an ocean view and ended up with massive construction scaffolding blocking the view. Otherwise, all was good

Friendly check-in and pointed us in direction of restaurants which were a 2 minute walk from reception. Room looked brand new and had everything from a stove to a washing machine to great block-out curtains. I would return again despite faintly being able to hear the music from a bar down the road.

Place was nice and clean with a decent size room but unfortunately Is was on the ground floor next to the road over the weekend so could here the people having a good time all through the night so sleep was very patchy

Great welcome by the on-duty manager. She was excellent. The ramps down to the underground parking are tight and difficult to negotiate Odd situation in the bathroom (large and roomy) where the shower water, even at half volume, runs all over the floor making it very slippery

Property is just a 5 minute walk to 'restaurant strip' on the Strand and just far enough away from any nighttime noise.

Great facility hot pools are the huge draw card. Rooms tidy and clean.

Pleasant Stay in Tauranga

It was a pleasant and relaxing one-night stay. The room is rather spacious, clean and well furnished complete with essentially full kitchen. The jetted tub is certainly a bonus that let you relax and sleep well in the night. Location is quite convenient and close to town. Only 'problem' is that parking adds extra $15 for the night which has already been charged at a fairly high rate. Negotiating the ramps up and down the basement level carpark did call for extra care and some driving skills.

Multi-level carpark is barely a few feet from the balcony and literally looks directly into our room. We were told all one bedroom apartments are like this, yet it did not match the picture on the website. No-one picks up the phone when calling helpdesk from our room. Shower nozzle was broken - it just flops downward instead of pointing where you want it.

Very clean neat and well taken care property. The guy at the front desk was very helpful. Will definitely recommend this place to anybody wanting to have a relaxing getaway.

Good location, also lots of on street parking available if you don’t want to pay for secure parking. Apartment was large. Loved having a washing machine for my workout gear! Wifi was rubbish which was frustrating but otherwise loved being close enough to walk around the city and to the strand without the crowds at the mount. That said it’s an easy 15 minute drive away

The Shower mixer was faulty and struggled to get a comfortable heat as it was either boiling hot or cold. I advised desk staff of this issue when checking out.

The place was clean and tidy. the toilet was missing a button and spabath was dirty when it was turned on. so did not use it. Other wise pretty good for night.

Friendly welcome from the concierge, unfortunately the view will be lost with the new building going up right in front of the apartment.
