The staff is wonderful and polite, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the area is clean and safe. Highly recommended!
What a beautiful property, very close to the mall with many dining options. The staff was incredibly friendly and I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay here!
Lovely hotel in every way.
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was elegantly appointed. The food in the restaurant was top notch.
I can’t say enough about the staff here. Check in was not waiting in line in front of a long counter. Instead, you were seated at a desk and given a beverage to sip on during the quick check in process. There was always someone nearby to ask a question. The breakfast that was included had so many choices and was delicious! Location was a very short walk to the Waterfront. Room was very nice with a small tray of treats to greet us. Bathroom included heated towel racks which were a pleasant surprise. My only criticism was that the bathroom toilet area had obviously had a water leak so the paint was bulging and looked horrible which was certainly not in keeping with the rest of the hotel. I would definitely recommend.
Small quiet hotel. Perfect location and all the staff were excellent. They could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended hotel.
We especially enjoyed the intimate boutique ambiance of the Manor House. Undoubtedly, our most cherished memories include the exceptional service rendered daily by its staff to accommodate our desires.
Great staff and service. Excellent location.
Friendly helpful staff in a great location
Honeymoon Garden Route
First stop en route up the garden route for our honeymoon and couldn’t have got off to a better start. The hotel itself is amazing very modern with all the amenities you could ask for. The staff were very attentive and friendly can not speak highly enough of all involved with the hotel. The breakfast as well was amazing and set us up perfectly every morning for the rest of the day
Very convenient for waterfront. Lovely pool garden, room large with oversize bathroom
The hotel was well equipped so comfortable and clean, its proximity to the main road meant it was very noisy in our room and the swimming pool, the staff were very friendly and so helpful although there weren’t enough staff for breakfast service and at the bar early evening
We enjoyed a four night stay at the hotel. This is our second visit - location brilliant in an historic area of the waterfront. Staff very helpful, facilities exceptional with a beautiful pool area and fabulous spa ! Will go again!
Everything was in fabulous condition and the staff were extremely friendly. Despite Cape Town being a somewhat dangerous destination at the moment, I felt very safe and taken care of at the hotel, given proper guidance on activities and how to enjoy the surrounding area. I would definitely return to stay again!
Wonderful Stay
Everything was amazing from check-in to check-out…. The staff and property are perfection…. Breakfast and room service was delicious
Excellent hotel near the ‘Waterfront’.
Extremely attentive and professional staff, good location for the Waterfront.
This hotel has seen better times...
First, I will say that the hotel is located at the center of the V&A Waterfront district only steps away from restaurants and the mall. It is very convenient with great dining options just around the corner. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to make your stay very comfortable. However, the hotel rooms could use some renovations and refresh. The walls in our bathroom (toilet area) were bubbling out showing previous water damage which has not been fixed. There were signs of black mold on the crown molding in the shower and the shower floor had some red markings. Additionally, the bathroom vanity was damaged and the sink was draining very slowly. This is rather unacceptable for a hotel rated as 5-stars with nightly rates over $400 per night, It seems the upkeep of the hotel is not the priority for the owner which is a shame as it looks like this hotel was very nice in the past.
Everything is excellent
we booked a premium and bigger room and they gave us the smallest room of the hotel. After complaining they changed but still not under the same category we booked. Other than that the hotel is excellent and very well located.
Clean Room and very helpful staff
Top notch hotel in a great location. The V&A Waterfront provides a very safe walkable area with lots of shops, restaurants and entertainment options (boat trips, tours). The hotel staff at Queen Victoria is top notch in all respects- courtesy, helpfulness and desire to do anything they can to make your stay in the city/country as good as possible.
Staff
Felt like the service quarters apartment
The overall hotel is quite nice, however, the assignment of room was a bit questionable. Our room was right next to the public restrooms in the lobby and felt like we were assigned to the service quarters. Even though we booked a premium room with a canal view, the room did not feel like one of the premium assignments nor did it have the canal view. When I opened the window to take a lookout, the top hinge fell apart causing the window to fall away and I could not close it. The maintenance group did respond quickly and managed to close it and put weather stripping in the gaps so at least I did not get a draft nor hear the wind whistling all night. This experience was a bit disappointing for a hotel of this caliber and price.
The Queen Victoria Hotel is conveniently located in Cape Towns waterfront, just minutes from the Zeitz Mocaa gallery, Red & Blue bus tours, the aquarium and open air performance spaces. From the moment you walk through the door you are enthusiastically greeted and shown around the beautiful property. The level of excellence amongst the staff is such that you immediately feel “at home” and relaxed. There is a pool area situated in a garden where you can take a dip or order food or drinks. It’s a private sanctuary space, only ambient noise without canned music blaring out. Our premium King room was beautifully decorated, quiet with tall ceilings and lovely bathroom products and towels. Walking to the waterfront was literally a short walk across the street, in an area with many security guards which made us feel comfortable returning from the excellent shopping options or dinner nearby. If I return to Cape Town, this is the place where I would stay, it’s a ten!
Lovely hotel just over the road from waterfront.
First class in every way
We enjoyed 5 nights here. Could not recommend highly enough. Location, condition and amenities unsurpassed. Would not consider any other hotel at the Waterfront.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Food excellent
Excellent hotel. Fantastic location near the V&A waterfront. Staff helpful and attentive
Great hotel in a convenient location for all the Waterfront has to offer.
Cape gem
Excellent stay. Friendly staff. Beautiful view as from the rooms. Located right in the Waterfront.
An early check in after a long flight was very welcome as was the friendly welcome from Gwen. Rooms spotless and breakfast very good. Very close to the Waterfront so felt safe at all times.
Simply WOW!!!
Amazing staff... amazing service... amazing rooms...amazing breakfast... WOW WOW WOW! Had booked a one night stay as part of my wife's birthday celebrations, and the Queen Victoria Hotel made this so special for her. Jannette at the front of house was so helpful and Donovan over at the pool made lounging around at the pool area even more luxurious. I have never received such a high level of personalised service. Will definitely return! ps. the hotel is in a fantastic location too, short walk to everything you need in the V&A Waterfront.
The most excellent stay.
At first when we arrived, it was some kind of dissappointment as we didn’t have the room that we had booked. But it turned out to be most perfect stay, because they managed to put us in a more excellent room, on the very day of our arrival. We really enjoyed ourselves and the time of relaxing. Thank you.
Very well located right in the heart of the waterfront. There is plenty of restaurants, shops and museums around. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had delicious food, and the room included a delicious breakfast with a continental buffet and an option of warm breakfast.
Exceptional!
We had the most amazing stay at Queen Victoria Hotel. Rooms were exceptionally clean and confortable and staff were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and give us advice about the area. The bed and bedding were wonderful and exceptionally comfortable. Thank you we had a wonderful stay!
Excellent in every way. By far the best hotel in Cape Town with excellent views excellent staff, helpful and friendly. Front of house manager superb. Jason needs special mention due his overwhelming desire to please patrons. Definitely a 5 star hotel tucked away in a quiet secluded part of the Waterfront with stunning views
Wonderful hotel
Everything about my stay was great, particularly the hospitality. I will happily choose this hotel over others in the same budget range due to the wonderful staff. Everyone was helpful and accommodating (I was able to check in very early as per my request. Room was immaculate and I just needed to rest and relax. Last minute spa treatment was also excellent. I will be back next time I'm in the City.
Horrible Experience
I booked 2 rooms. Paid the same price and received 2 rooms that was so different in what they offered that I could hardly believe what I got. How this place got a 5-star rating only they know. We had to walk very far to get a proper breakfast. No lunch and/or dinner is served on site and forget about room service. I will NEVER EVER stay here again.
A lovely boutique hotel in excellent location at the waterfront. Staff was wonderful, food was delicious, especially breakfast.
In the hustling and bustling of the Waterfront, there is such tranquility and elegance. This has become our second home, we really enjoyed our stay and their excellent treatment.
Great week in Cape Town
Every functional area of this Hotel is excellent. The entire staff is simply outstanding. (Special mention for Leonique for the assistance getting us around town. ) A perfect stay!
Overall, hugely disappointing experiences
This hotel is located near the Water Front, which is just 5 minutes of walk. Very safe and cozy hotel. Strong Wifi, and well trained staff. Good job on those. However, this hotel introduced two of very serious issues while we were staying. Hot water was shut off in the middle of shower, and my wife was asked to go another room to finish up the shower. I had waited 2 hours and half to take a shower, but water was not hot enough. In the morning, I felt cold. It was a very inconvenient experience that I have had first time at this type of high-end hotel. Another issue was that they serve oysters for breakfast buffet. On first day, oysters were fresh and ok, but, on the next day, oysters smelled rotten and tasted really bad. It could have caused stomachaches or food-poisoning. It should have been very careful when they were serving, especially, seafood. These were hugely disappointing experiences at this hotel.
Room with a View
Wonderful location and property enhanced by the warmth and attention of the staff. Definitely recommend putting this at the top of places too stay while in Cape Town.
Great Hotel , worth every dollar
Great hotel! We will be back!
Superb hotel
Great 5 star experience. Awesome plush hotel . Very comfortable with brilliant service
The Property is located in an area where access to the Water Front is easy and quick but in an area which is quiet. The only downside was that our rooms (we had four rooms) were all on the ground floor meaning that everything from the Bar and indeed the foyer plus the piano was easily heard
Truly Unbelievable Hotel
Unbelievable hotel. Fabulous staff and truly wonderful hotel!! I would recommend everyone to stay here. One of The best hotels I have ever stayed in.
Rooms spacious and luxurious! Cook to order breakfast was excellent.
Fantastic hotel, great location. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Excellent location, lovely rooms and attentive staff.
Simply superb. This is a small boutique hotel with great location, stellar service, beautiful rooms, scrumptious breakfast and I could go on. Jason and the rest of the staff go out of their way to be helpful and provide exceptional customer service. I travel alot and I can't wait to be back.
Great stay with phenomenal staff!
Everything was wonderful! The staff were so incredibly nice and went above and beyond what could have been expected at every turn. Lovely pool area and lawn and convenient location.
The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable, and the staff were absolutely wonderful. I can't wait to go back!
The staff were excellent. Friendly and welcoming at all times and the property itself was a gem.
One of the best hotels webhave been in
It was amazing. The staff was excellent and this include all. The reception ladles that went out of their way to book us attraction the bell boys that walked us to places we needed the restaurant and loby waters the house keepers and the hotel car deiver. All was superb. I know someone will say this is a sponsored review but believe me my wife and I are from Israel and we travel a lot and this was one of the best.
Stayed in the Manor House. Great location, great room, staff a delight and very helpful throughout.
Five star hotel
Amazing hotel. Centrally situated for the waterfront. Breakfast very good and the staff very efficient
The staff at this hotel were exceptional and made our family feel like we were part of their family. Highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was amazing.
Great boutique hotel in the heart of where the action is. Close to restaurants and shops.
Fabulous hotel, so close to the V&A & Service was amazing
Great boutique hotel. Service was amazing nothing was too much. Will definitely stay again.
The staff are excellent the rooms are clean and fresh the restaurant and the bar are excellent its one of my best hotel ever
I like the location of the hotel. I've stayed here before and never been disappointed; the rooms are clean, service is nice, and its easy to get to the train station and also to almost anywhere in town.
Great location, close to heaps of interesting things to do.
My stay at the Queen VICTORIA was simply amazing!!! From the welcome champagne to the daily night caps and sweet treats and daily supply of drinks. This was the perfect place. The amazing views of the water front and table mountain and the very hospitable staff. I’ll recommend this hotel to everyone! Best hotel I’ve stayed in Cape Town
Great hotel in great location. Fantastic breakfast.
Great smaller hotel with very professional, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is within walking distance to the waterfront. I would highly recommend this hotel to those looking for a perfect stay in Capetown.
Cape Town
Excellent and cozy hotel in the Waterfront Area. Close to everything, really. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Room was real good to. A very good spot to stay close to the buzz and away from the noise.
Great Hotel, location ,room but the service in the breakfast room was terrible, very slow, did not know what they had to offer and the eggs took 30 minutes and there were only 2 tables with people. Service brings customers back!!
Highly recommended
Excellent service, beautiful hotel
Pleasantly surprised
The hotel is a boutique hotel so it’s small but well equipped . location Is good . A few min walk to the waterfront (up and down many stairs or a ramp but these stairs are not really challenging at all) the staff are polite and the rooms are modern , clean and comfortable . There is only a pool at the sister hotel so I wouldn’t stay here in summer . But in winter again - definitely
Great hotel in quiet but great location
People were very friendly and helpful. Especially duty manager Lynette.
Excellent breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Staff helped arrange day excursions.
First impression was poor, at check-in the staff seemed disengaged. Was offered a welcome refresher towel which was dirty without a proper apology. The room was right behind the reception and very noisy at times. The location of this hotel is amazing although the staff are not well trained to level they should be for this type of hotel. There were stains in several areas of the room, although I have to say the bed was clean and very comfortable. Overall it was ok, but would not stay there again even for the location. Most disappointing was the customer service.
Nice hotel
Beautiful hotel. Nicely appointed rooms and front desk staff happy helpful and courteous. Restaurant waiting staff lacked some direction and appeared understaffed and overwhelmed at breakfast.
Just ok
Yes the location is at the water front but expected more , the reception stuff doubles and consierge and don’t really know much about what and where to go other then table mountain and rubben island , sent laundery got it back not as requested even though I asked and written on the form twice how I like it with a hotel stuff memeber . Should be better
Ticks all boxes
Our stay at Queen Victoria CT was amazing. t was sad to leave after 4 lovely nights. Make sure to have dinner at Dash - one of the best hotel restaurants I know...
Honeymoon
Beautiful well kept comfortable hotel, with amazing attentive staff. We didn’t want to leave.
Loved this hotel
An absolutely lovely hotel, the room was so spacious, light and airy. There was a large balcony too. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast selection. We will definitely stay here again
Great staff. Good food. Good location.
Lovely stay.
We had a lovely stay in the hotel. The staff were attentive and helpful. The room had a couple of little niggles such as a lampshade missing and no mini bar menu. I would expect these to be present.
Reliable And Comforable Place to Stay
The things that need improvement. Each time we tried to call down and order/request something the phone did not work or was busy. I thought no phone was taken off hook. Had to leave room to request. Wash cloths weee not replaced when old ones were placed in tub. Had to leave room to request. The hot breakfast was not favorable. Stayed four nights and tried a variety of items. More care is needed there. The reason we did not stay at hotel to dine. On previous occasions I ate at restaurant and was good. Breakfast service was slow. Even though they had four persons. Bar drinks were excellent!
hotel staff was second to none. Very helpful and generous, even given the current state of drought in Cape Town. Great location for shopping and restaurants.
Perfect place to stay in Cape Town!
Beautiful hotel in a perfect position overlooking the waterfront and all its attractions in Cape Town. Spacious beautifully decorated room, great bar area and attentive staff. Loved it!!!
Great location, great hotel
We were in 1208, and had the perfect view of Table Mountain. It was a little windy (you could hear the wind outside) and when we mentioned it to reception, they sent people up right away to check the door seals. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was delicious, service was helpful. I hated to leave.
An excellent stay with friendly helpful staff
Excellent hotel, well appointed and in the right location. Staff were really helpful an very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend. The restaurant was excellent.
Great location and helpful staff
Location is tough to beat -- close walking distance to V&A waterfront, but also tucked away so it is quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle. Super friendly staff willing to help with directions and recommendations and bookings. Generous breakfast. Nice extras, like sweet treats beside bed at night. Small negative: poor lighting at bathroom mirrors (looks cool, but not super functional). But a small issue relative to a great stay in a great location.
Perfect location!
This is a wonderful hotel with a very helpful, friendly staff, and very clean. Great breakfast every morning, would definitely stay here again and recommend others stay here as well.
Queen Vic
The best thing this hotel has going for it, is it's location and accessibility to the V&A Waterfront, which I found to be rather convenient. My previous reservations in other 5 Star Hotels in and around the same area were far more memorable in terms of the aesthetics and the personal touch offered.
Not Bad
The hotel needs to be refurbished, especially the bathrooms. The shower and the sinks gets clogged daily. Service is found wanting. We had asked for a room with a balcony and on arrival was told we have to pay extra for the same and we paid to get it.
Great location
This hotel is perfectly located on the V&A waterfront within walking distance to a large number of restaurants and attractions on the waterfront. The hotel's restaurant was fantastic for both breakfast and dinner.
Nice location close to water front, great breakfa
Was not too impressed as a five star hotel and for the price we paid
Very nice hotel and very nice staff
Great hotel. clean and very nice staff. I would stay here again if staying by the waterfront. You get what you pay for, which is comfort and convenience. All in all no complaints. Thanks.
upscale attempt
Lovely location by the Victoria waterfront. Smallish rooms with only a desk chair for seating. Large bathroom compared to the sleeping area. Great breakfast. High end sheets on an average mattress. Overall four stars.
Good, close, and very affordable
The hotel is great as well as the location. The restaurant is small and has no view and do not taste good.
Lovely hotel right on the V&A
Staff were wonderful, helping us book a great tour and had excellent recommendations for meals out, booking it all for us. Nothing was too difficult, they were always available and professional. We had such a good time. Also, great view of Table Mountain from our room! Thank you Queen Vic Hotel!
Wonderful location but quiet and excellent!
We spend a week at the QV and we had the most wonderful time. The location is close to everything but quiet and secluded. The room had a great view of Table Mountain and the pool at Dock House next door was fantastic. The staff is superb and went all out to exceed our expectations. The Dash restaurant inside is top notch. This is definitely the best hotel we ever stayed in and we will be back. Thank you to all who made our stay so memorable.
All good until billing. They double billed my card. I'm in dispute with them currently. Not happy about that

Perfect stay in Cape Town
Perfect stay in Dock House. Everything about the hotel & facilities are excellent & the staff really do go the extra mile to make the stay special. The location is perfect for Waterfront & we would definitely recommend.
