Good value hotel

Good value hotel, about 10 minute walk to the Metro. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

First of all check in process took more than 20 minutes! The rooms are pretty outdated

Great location and friendly staff.

We had a very pleasant stay.

Arrived on an early morning flight so asked for early check in if possible. Guy at the desk stated we would have to pay another £200 so i said it was ok and we would wait it out until 3pm. Then he advised there was a room available but not what we paid for (city view instead of sea view) that he would do free of charge but if we took it we couldn’t move again even though we weren’t getting what we booked. Booking was for 3 people but room was really only able to accommodate 2. We ended up rearranging the room and putting the 2 twin beds together so everyone could fit. Later told by reception staff this is a problem when booking through third party sites. Half way through the trip we complained to another member of staff who was really good and agreed to change us to the seaview room we had booked. She upgraded us to a suite and included an additional bed. We were told it would be ready in 10 minutes so ran up to repack but in actual fact it took over 2 hours and we missed an excursion we had booked as a result. Overall the hotel is ok. Majority of staff are lovely and breakfast was good. Unfortunately no beach access, beach is 5-10 minutes away and you need to pay a fee to use it. Pool is an indoor pool. In terms of value for money we could have booked one of the 5star hotels across the road for only a few pounds more and had private beach/outdoor pool access. (Hilton/four seasons/sheraton etc). We had family staying at the hilton and facilities there were much better.

Houda the assistant manager was extremely helpful and kind went above and beyond her way to make this extra special for me and my family gave us a cake and decorations in the room as we were celebrating a birthday . Valet car parking guys were quick overall great stay at the hotel

Overall the hotel excellent and it’s convenient. The staff are amazing specially Amir he is always go above and beyond and I really appreciate all the great services he provides.

The front desk staff were very good. I had interactions mostly with Grace. She was very courteous, efficient and professional. One of the male receptionists, did not catch his name unfortunately, provided invaluable assistance with how to watch EPL match on line. All of this is testament of the devotion of the staff to attend to customers needs. Thank you. Your efforts are highly appreciated!

This hotel is really nice I recommend it the room was neat had everything the bathroom was also good. The customer service was great. I had a nice stay . The environment is also safe and close to almost everything.

The hotel is in a pretty good location in the Westbay area. You can walk to the City Center mall, though it might be a bit far for some people. But just behind the hotel is a small grocery store and a few other restaurants. I found the room to be in good shape and happily very quiet.

The hotel is very old and the service was horrible. I checked out at the same time and asked for a full refund and i even booked another hotel before i confirm the refund.

I enjoyed staying at Qabila. My room is overlooking the Corniche Bay. The staff is wonderful! They take care the needs of their guests. Shout out to Ana, the receptionist. She made her way to help me out in my requests.

Liked the welcome, chocolate cake,dates and coffee complementary with freindly staff from the reception,coincerge and breakfast staff were excellent where Kakol went out of his way to satisy our needs to brew us fresh peppermint tea as there were no peppermint tea bags at the restaurant.

Very nice staff

The room was well situated with excellent views of Corniche. Bed was comfortable. The kitchenette made it easy to prepare light meals to suit my particular diet and taste. Staff were accommodating. Elevator was too slow and roadworks around the hotel prevented easy access by car or on foot. Hopefully this will be resolved within a few months.

Amazing staff !!!

We enjoyed our stay and the staff were very helpful especially a lovely lady at reception whose name I cannot remember unfortunately, she made sure we were looked after and answered all our questions. Due to EHTERAZ issues we ended up staying in hotel room for most of our stay so therefore relied very much on hotel staff and services, and we were not disappointed and would stay there again if we travelled to Qatar again.

3-star hotel at best

Very disappointed after a recent stay at the Movenpick West Bay Doha. This is a 3-star hotel at best. The concierge was completely unhelpful in giving restaurant recommendations (literally could not name one suggestion) and did not know where to get a COVID test at for our return flight to the US. Our shower leaked out of a hole in the wall and created a large puddle every time the shower was on. Our door did not lock, and after approaching the front desk and being told that they would send someone up right away, the door was not fixed by the time we departed the next day. Finally, we could smell cigarette smoke in our room through the air vents, despite having booked a non-smoking room - a very unpleasant smell to be woken up by in the middle of the night. We were very disappointed with this experience. The rating of this hotel should be downgraded - it was neither 5-star in service or accommodation.

One of my favourites

I stay in about 25 hotels a year and this is one of the best. Service is second to none. I always return her when visiting Doha, which is twice a year, and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have been charged twice for my room. It is under investigation

Excellent position near hop on hop off bus stop at Hilton across the road. Staff excellent, room excellent, breakfast excellent. Would recommend this hotel.

Room was comfortable and hotel is well-located. Restaurant fine for breakfast and OK for buffet-style dinner, slower service for a la carte offerings. Staff efficient and helpful.

Loved the attention the staff gave, the room was superb and beautifully kept. Breakfast was lovely so much choice. Extras like the airport pick up/drop off great - and in fairness just missed the pick up and because it was going to be delayed they laid on a taxi for me. Pool on the 26th floor was lovely. My only criticism is it is one of the big hotels that do not serve alcohol.. ... whilst I dont drink a lot when on holiday I love a glass of wine or two with my evening meal - for this reason I ate out every night rather than at the hotel.

Air conditioning was too cold and couldn’t be adjusted. Only 2 teabags available.

Beautiful hotel

Relaxing staycation. The friendly front desk staff gave us a free upgrade. The rooms are big and spacious. Loved the indoor pool area, clean and very well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed our stay at Mövenpick West Bay

Our short stay at Mövenpick west bay was lovely. The staff were polite and helpful. However, there was no facility for women only swimming,sadly.

It was Good Experience, so Friendly Staff, the Location is good and the View was Great.

A first class hotel with wonderful staff, wonderful food and superb room with view.

I upgraded to executive room which had breakfast included in price. Lots of space in this very comfortable room with views over Doha’s waterfront. Good selection of hot and cold breakfasts. All staff were excellent. 10 minute walk or cheap taxi to Doha’s modern metro system (DECC metro station). A must visit is the Souq at night time!

Superb and attentive service from all staff. Execellent room with 3 windows, kitchenette and sea view. The finest rainfall shower and comfortable bed. Highly recommend.

This is a nice place if you just need a cheap hotel to stay. It’s not as fancy as other Movenpicks, and it certainly does not have a resort vibe. The pool is very disappointing; there is no jacuzzi. The spa has a very small hot tub they rent for a ridiculous amount. I was there for over a week and the room cleaners were hit or miss. Some days they would forget to restock things or leave fresh towels. I only ordered room service twice and they got it wrong both times.

I like the Hotel and the most of the stuff, especially Miss Dounia in the reception very helpful, smily.. But it's happened one thing that the room service staff opened my room door without waiting for me to open after 3 seconds when he knocked the door!!!! He wanted to fix the bathroom telephone and spraying the bathroom for the pest control 😔😔😔😔

This is a "Dry" 5 Star Hotel that failed to identify that on their Expedia listing. We tried to cancel our reservation at check in and they refused to refund us even though we never used their facility. Also the front desk is busy and cluttered due to coffee shops and sheisha bars in the lobby.

Property location is good Breakfast not good , some food are expired ( white cheese & labna). Breakfast menu need to be changed.

I stayed in a line for an hour before checking in. To apologize they upgraded my room, it wasn't a major change though. The kitchen area was cleaned but not stainless. The decorative cushion in the middle of the bed was clearly dirty. Everything else in the room was in good condition.

Perfection achieved

The hotel West Bay exceeded My expectations in every way. The most awesome surprise, for a Finnish Guy, was The sauna next to the hot tubb. IT was just like Back home. The service was outstanding and My room was perfect.

The location was great. Located within walking distance of different attractions.

It was a dry hotel. They offered us a smoking room and then downgraded us when we insisted on a non smoking room. After 12 hours travelling you don’t want to spend 25 minutes checking in. Irony was that the two rooms looked identical. Maid service was excellent and the concierge was helpful. Breakfasts were very expensive, but there was a Costa and a Starbucks 50 metres away.

Sadly this visit was a poor experience compared with the splendid stay I had late 2018. The hotel was at maximum capacity and clearly the staffing ratio in the restaurant was inadequate. Staff were dashing about with little purpose and residents were left with partly laid tables and poor slow service at table. On 2 occasions my table was cleared whilst I was at the buffet selecting my next course. In addition to this the restaurant was packed, very noisy and the whole eating/dining experience most uncivilised. Coupled with the full occupancy 1 of the 4 lifts was out of order for my whole 7 day stay. On a number of occasions I had to wait for 10 to 15 minutes to get a lift. They were usually full to capacity and didn't stop at my floor. On 2 occasions my lift took me to the 3rd floor and then decided to take me back to the ground floor. The message coming from the lift said something about the firemen needing access so we abandoned that lift also. All in all not a happy stay although I guess the management will consider it "good for business"!!

Beautiful luxurious hotel. The room is very spacious almost as big as an apartment! Beautiful friendly staff. Cannot recommend enough. Absolutely fantastic

Nice hotel, good value, but are lacks a soul and character - no pedestrians, lots of cars, construction site, other tall buildings, etc. Maybe needs more time for area to mature and get some character.
