Peaceful island resort

This is a very nice hotel on an island in the middle of the Nile. You need to take a boat to reach it. The boat starts from the point marked "Pyramisa Isis Island Pick Up point" on Google maps. All the tours and private cars will meet you at the parking area at this pick up point. The boat takes about 5 minutes to make the journey but you might need to wait 15 minutes for the boat to set off. It runs all hours. Due to its island location this is a very peaceful place.

Refurbished rooms are now of 4* standard

This hotel has had some poor reviews recently based on its condition. I spent to separate visits to the hotel in January 2025 and both the rooms we stayed in had recently been refurbished and were very nice. I would say that the hotel is of a standard similar to a 4* holiday hotel in Spain. The public areas of the hotel were also in the process of being refurbished. The island location makes it a very peaceful laid-back place. The boat takes you to and from the Pyramisa Isis Island Pick-up point as indicated on Google maps. You should allow up to 20minutes to make the trip. Tours and private cars will meet you at the parking place near that pick-up point. It's a very nice holiday hotel to stay in now and will continue to improve over the next few months I'm sure.

Change my room two times for cleaning concerns….. Last room the bathroom shower was clogged. Terrible!!!!

The island hotel was very pretty and you got a good view from restaurants/ balcony. The room was clean and comfortable, with a very large shared balcony. The staff were a bit a abrupt at times and the room was not ready for check in at 3pm. There was a little bit of a leak in the bathroom and the floor got very wet after a shower. Dinner was very average but was included in the room rate. A nice calm retreat away from the main town. You do have to get a boat to get there but they operate frequently. We had a massage in the spa, nice but a bit expensive (priced for tourists). Good facilities - gym, spa outdoor pool etc.

Our room needed some maintenance and we assume had not been used for sometime. For example, the sliding door to the balcony screeched loudly when we opened and closed it. The bathroom looked like it had been poorly finished around the bath and sink. The shower wasn't easy to use. Otherwise we enjoyed the view from our room across the Nile, the pool area was very nice. Service for drinks and food was incredibly slow - it looked like there was only one staff member dedicated to serving everyone. The Italian food on the menu (the Italian restaurant was closed) not enjoyable - most people in our party did not enjoy the food and it was served cold as we had waited for so long.

Looks good but brown water

Everything was fine and looked nice. Then we turned on the bathand the water was brown. And apparent toilet paper came out of the other bath in the room. Room service took an hour to get but food was ok, the room was nice and spacious.

I was worried after reading the reviews, but we had a junior suite, the room was perfect. Yes might have been a little dated but the view was amazing, the staff were amazing. We were able to book a few things they helped with. We arrived late and the boat to get there was still running.

The hotel facilities are a bit old. But relative to the price, it is completely acceptable.

Horrible experience… Avoid this hotel.

Terrible experience. The hotel is in ruins. The rooms are dirty, bed full of bugs, we got a rash in the morning. The bathrooms full of mold, and hot water not working properly. The AC was not working, and the bathroom lights did not even turn on.

The hotel is excellent in many ways. The location is very very unique. Great place and great service. One thing that needs work is the room cleaning. The dust inder the bed speaks of months without cleaning. Other than that I have no criticism

Staff is overall friendly with various English skills. The hotel looks pretty nice from the outside but the rooms are not compatible to the exterior look. We paid $500 USD in total for 2 nights of a triple room in December. Triple room = 2 twin beds 1 rollaway bed. Mattress quality is similar to those used in motels in the States. None of the machines in the fitness center works. Bathroom door of our room is not closable and room door is very difficult to close. I do miss Cairo Hilton Pyramid Golf, where I paid less with better quality on everything.

Such a nightmare. Only the facade looks beautiful. The rooms are run down and so dirty. How could Expedia even be listing this hotel as 5 star? Tables broken and floors so dusty. I’m afraid there might even be bed bugs. Have spoken to the reception and they can’t be bothered. That’s how bad the service is.

Outside of the property looks very nice as you approach from taxi boat to the hotel. But inside could use an upgrade. Definitely still old fashion inside with all the furniture stuff. Tall, bold male and older looking receptionist staff had a misogynist attitude. Did not respond to me but would make eye contact to my husband when he did not even make the reservation and ask only him questions about reservation. Gave my husband the keys and did not acknowledge me until I had to raise my voice and ask for our passports and wifi access which was terrible. Would not be back.

room had hair all over the bed and the shower didnt work well

I booked a deluxe with king bed and view of the Nile. The room initially given to me was unsafe: the front door did not lock (flimsy, could be pushed open, chainlink broken) and the door to the balcony did not lock. We were reassigned to a room where the locks worked, but with twin beds and not looking at the Nile. The bidet did not work. The shower was terrible: the shower head rotated everywhere getting the ceiling, the floors, the walls all wet. We diverted the water to the faucet, but the showerhead did not work anymore and had to kneel to wash our hair. The water pressure and temperature fluctuated; the tub/shower was clogged. The bathroom was not very clean (fungus growing on the tile). The property was in disrepair and it was dated. Presumably, this is a 5-star hotel, but it is not (more likely 3 stars).

The property rooms are old.

The property was adequate for us as we were checking in late and departing early the next morning. When I booked I did not realize that the only way to the property was by boat. This made it very inconvenient. We were hungry as we got in at 10pm and the hotel had very limited food options and because you have to take the boat back to the town we really couldn’t go to any of the places still open in town. The food was okay but definitely not high quality. The property was very dated and old. The doors and wood were scratched up and the bathroom had a weird half glass door which meant some water sprayed outside the shower. They also still use physical keys with a giant hanging tag that has your room number. Not really the safest thing. I did find the staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was decent but nothing to write home about. All in all if you are looking for a place that is modest and you want to relax in isolation on an island it’s not bad. But if you want to tour around Aswan and explore the city this is not the place.

mostly dissapointing

This is NOT a 5-star hotel! Maybe it was the inauguration day, 50 yr ago. I will say, today, barely a 2 star. Premises definitely showing the aging and lack of proper maintenance. Example: fiberglass bathtub patched and patch blistered and cracked. I booked a room with king bed. they gave me one with 2 beds. Came down and complained, then got what i asked for. Changed some dollars for egyptian pounds. The first time was Ok (a new $50 bill). Second time: "we can change you only $20 US", the catch is, you need to give them freshly mint bills, not a single scratch. needless to say i didnt change anything. now, heading back home with all my "unacceptable" bills. Dinner buffet was ok as well as breakfast, but again, not what you will expect at a 5 stars hotel... Location con: you have to take a ferry running erratic times, allow yourself plenty of time to cross the river and grab your ride.

Not so good for paid prices.

The location is great and being on its own island is very charming. You take a small boat to it. The grounds are very nice and the pool is great. Unfortunately the rooms are very tired and dated. The beds and sheets are old, the flooring is cheap and the bathrooms are poor. Its a shame because the setting of the hotel is great.

Very old furniture and wifi is terrible

I had them change our rooms 2 times. All rooms presented to us were in terrible condition and very dirty; I'm talking about dust and hair on the floor and in the bathroom. We settled in a room because we were just extremely tired from a long travel after they double cleaned the last one. Hotel is in a great location, but staff and manager are extremely unprofessional and rude. Hotel property is in a bad condition and hasn't been maintained for a while. Amenities are old, unmaintained and outdated.

Good experience with some comments

The experience, in general was good; the only thing that was uncomfortable for me was that the WIFI is only available in the lobby area and poor quality, less than 3mb. Additionally it was difficult to find the gym, because is inside the SPA and it's in poor condition

We reserved a room with a King size bed and we got 3 twin beds. We reserved a non smoking room and there was an ashtray in the room and the room smelled of smoke. The room/floors/sheets/towels were either dirty or needed replacing! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Unable to reach anyone at hotel- neither from outside hotel of inside hotel. Rooms are spread across- one porter for more than 200 guests. Guests had to wait in line for long in breakfast- almost 20-39 mts to get omelette Have to take ferry to teach hotel.

Didn’t get to stay as the phone numbers i was provided didn’t work for the property. Nor the 3 others I looked up. Hotels.com was able to get thru on a number they had that’s not published? Had to book a last minute hotel someplace else cause I wasn’t able to contact the property. This is disappointing.

This property is under rated. Yes its a bit dated and a few things are out of order but PLEASE look past the little deficiencies and come enjoy this wonderful place The location is wonderful and the hotel shuttle boats(FREE) make it really convenient for getting downtown

Definitely not a 5 star hotel, maybe it used to be? Yes the property is outdated but we found everything to be clean and it worked for us for one night. AC, shower, pool, buffet was good. The staff were all very friendly and we were able to check in early.

As indicated by its name, the hotel is located on an island and so hotel guests and their luggage are transported by boat to the hotel, which is pretty awesome. The hotel staff were, for the most part, very friendly and accommodating, and willing to help make our stay enjoyable. The hotel could do with some renovations - certain features seem run-down by today’s standards and are in dire need of an upgrade, and certain amenities were not available while we were there (though, this may be due to the fact that our stay occurred in the off season), but overall the hotel has a lot of charm. Our plan was to take a Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor, but we weren’t sure if we could do this given our tight schedule and last minute planning. However, one of the hotel staff by the name of Mostafa went above and beyond his regular duties to make this happen for us. He not only offered us a number of options, but once we had decided on which option we wanted, he arranged the cruise including the transportation of our luggage to the boat. He even took time out of his day to help us with finding amenities and items that were unavailable at the hotel. Despite its shortcomings, I would recommend the hotel for its location, charm, and hospitality.

The wifi only worked for about half our stay. This property has all of the potential to be a 5 star resort, but it’s a bit rundown and it showed. It’s somewhere between a 3-4 star property in today’s condition.

Like location but definitely not worth to stay as everything is in bad condition like bathroom fittings, doors, switches, door knobs, shelves you name it everything and it’s very very old property.

Only stay if you like roadside motel quality

Awful experience. First off the hotel is maybe a 3 star max. It is very out dated and old and not how the pics look. The staff also is not very well trained or accommodating. The hotel was advertised as “air conditioned rooms” but the a/c didn’t work. We complained and they tried to convince us that air conditioning meant “air freshening” and is only a fan. This is on mid 90 degree days. Finally after a lot of talking they said it was turned off to save energy and they turned it on again and it cooled down but turned it off again in middle of the nite. The beds were also terrible. Good not edible. And overall no better than a roadside motel. Would not recommend

Hotel staff are awesome. I wish the room cleaness and condition come par with the Hotel class rating on Expedia. In my view it’s at least two ratings below.

DON’T stay here...it’s dirty, rundown, outdated, has awful management, bad location to get around the city, dirty restaurant, terrible wi-fi, loud rooms, gross & rundown bathroom and room, cheep mattress and sandpaper sheets (a true shame since in the land of Egyptian cotton). Not worth the money and definitely NOT a 5 star hotel!!!!! I’d give it 2 stars at most!

Was disappointed in food options. Only buffet or the Lobby Bar. Pizza in Lobby bar was not edible. Reception staff were less than friendly.

Bad hotel

Substandard in every aspect. Rooms freezing cold. Sheets, wager thin. Food : they charge you extra if you want a decent cup of coffee with breakfast. Otherwise it’s Nescafé packets. Service , with the exception of Hatem in the reception area, it leaves a lot to be desired. In short, not a good place to stay.

The property is in a beautiful location and the hotel is built well but sadly the management is the worst I've ever seen and I travel a lot. Every guest had some sort of complaint, the room, food, and services are awful. Save your money and go someplace else.

Issue seems to be with all paramisa hotels in Egypt and their ability to provide good customer service. Called the manager a day before arriving and requested a heater as it is very cold and the hotels do not have central heat - he said no problems, but when we got there no one knew and took two hours to get the request completed at 1am

Avoid this hotel

Main hotel was ok (still pretty rundown and would give it maximum 3 stars). My friend’s room was in the ‘chalet’ and not worthy of 1 star. Some staff were good, but check-in took way too long (about an hour and we were well past check in time). Would not recommend this hotel

Being in an island was really nice. Also the staff is very friendly. You als get unlimited boat rides to and from the shore.

This is hands down the worst "5 Star" hotel I've ever stayed in. It's 2 star at the best. It was run down. It was super dirty. We requested one bed but instead were given 2 twins. They were uncomfortable and felt like water beds. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and when we asked to change rooms, the staff at the front desk gave us a hard time. They offered instead to spray our room with chemicals to make the smell. We insisted on a new room and eventually they gave it to us. I would never staying here again.

The hotel was extremely old and dirty. The walls were scuffed, the bed sheets were stained, hair pn the sheets. The shower was challenging as it splashed everywhere and there was no hot water. There were no english language channels on the 26 inch TV. The service was sub par all around, the breakfast had limited choices. I would really suggest not staying here unless you like old dilapidated buildings.

Decent hotel. Modern and clean rooms. Facilities are new and renovated. It is hard, however, to get on and off the island. Also, don’t expect any WiFi during your stay.

The staff here, especially the tour organizers were amazing! They went above and beyond to make it a memorable time for us. We felt like they genuinely cared, and it wasn’t simply about selling us whatever. It was definitely a great time. Only negative, was the WiFi. Not reliable at all.

Excellent and unique location in Aswan. Very beautyful islan area with ist own park. But maintenance of this large property is rather poor. It looks like it's over-dimensioned with respect to the number of visiting guests.

The staff is super friendly. The water taxi is free and is a nice ride on the Nile. The hotel is a little older but it was clean and the location was nice in regards to the views. Only complaint was the WIFI was down and when it came up it was too slow to use. Breakfast buffet was complimentary and it was good. We didn’t eat anything else at the hotel so not sure how rest of the food compares but can’t beat a free breakfast. There is not an option to buy snacks once you are on the island so be sure to stock up on water and snacks while in town if you are like me and need a late night snack.

I expect to have the possibillity of a minibank in a 5 star hotel. Fassilities in the room and bath was not 5 stars worthy.

The Pyramisa Resort is an unusual hotel with great facilities and staff with very few guests. It’s everything that you require with the tranquility. A beautiful place to stay.

You've see the photos of this place and read the reviews. It cant be that bad can it? Surely might be worth a try for a nice looking place at a good price?Well, yes and no dependant on what is important to you.Grumpy unsmiling unhelpful firs t contacts at check-in. Cleanliness. - fine, no issues at all. Staff around the pool and at the restaurant really good..Room - decent size, good large balcony, a/c, good WiFi, TV we didn't try, fridge no mini bar, kettle tea and coffee and a safe and unlike many comments it was clean.Grounds - A large free form swimming pool which probably wont have more than six people on the sun beds around it. So it is pleasant and peaceful with a good pool boy and drinks service. If you're here for a few days and have spare time its a great place for relaxation. Food - given the hit and miss attitude of they staff I didn't have great hopes for the buffet. But as buffets go it was actually quite good considering the fact there probably weren't more than 30 people to eat there. Several soups, chicken beef, fish mains, vegetables, rice, pasta, potatoes, half dozen desserts. Our meal was included in the room rate. So if you want company and people around you and entertainment, no. If you want OK comfort, peace and quiet at a good price and are not embarrassed being one of 30 people

Secluded resort with a mostly calm atmosphere

This was a relatively nice place to staying when traveling through Aswan. It’s on an island, so you’re separated from the hustle and bustle of downtown Aswan, which is nice. You’d think that would mean you’d have a quiet and relaxing hotel. While this was true for part of the time, this came to be far from the truth for the other part of our trip, primarily the wedding that took place at 11 PM with a procession in the lobby. My friend and I were startled awake to loud drums and chanting. This went on for about an hour. It was sort of dismaying and annoying since we had to wake up early the next morning for our tour. I understand that weddings are a special celebration, but more care and concern should be given as there are many guests who are at the hotel. Another low point was the bazaar in the hotel. Having traveling throughout Egypt to the main sites where bazaars are inevitably unavoidable, this was sort of disappointing. A resort is supposed to be relaxing, not an area where I have to worry about being harassed by people selling me trinkets. These were the only low points of the hotel. The breakfast offers many different choices, and the hotel staff are attentive to their guests in both the lobby and restaurant areas. If you’re looking for a place away from downtown Aswan with (relative) quiet (barring any weddings), this is a good place to stay.

The hotel location is amazing. The view was spectacular. Staff was friendly and generally helpful. We got to Aswan early and were able to check in early after a little wait time. Hotel is a little dated and needs to be upgraded. Food presentation was grand but the food was a little bland. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the hotel.

Property situated on an island with beautiful views from my big balcony. Many amenities. Nice walking trail. They have a shuttle to Abu Simbel which was very helpful. The only thing that I did not like was the food. It was terrible ! Asked for a steak sandwich and was brought pot roast with no flavor . Just bread. I told the waiter thats not what I ordered. He then said we dont have steak. I said well you should have told me that . The next day I ordered room service. Ordered grilled chicken . Chicken had blood in it. Becareful . They need a new cook badly !! I had also asked for a cappucino and was brought nescafe . Either the workers are clueless or they dont care.

This property has great potential and its on a beautiful location of the Nile River, however the staff needs more training in executing customer checkin. The front desk employees are very nice however have no clue how to check you in or find your prepaid reservations. Unfortunately the hotel needs some tender loving care. The room that we were given smelled like a can of paint, but we were so tired and only there for 12 hours that we chose just to stick it out. Big mistake could not bare the smell. Room looked clean but all corners and under the bed dirty with dust. The shower head of the bathroom was the highlight of this room.

This was not one off my more enjoyable stays in Egypt, I had been before. I was here with a tour group and the check-in process was unpleasant.The young women at the reception desk were just handing out stacks of passports books to people in the hope that you would be able to find your own. Then once I finally got my key, one of the bellhops directed me to the general area of where my room was, but never mentioned I had to go down a flight of steps to find it. So I read the only posted signs in the hallways where he directed me and ended up back in the lobby, just to be escorted in the same direction, but down to the bottom floor where my actual room was. Before even entering the room though, the quality of the upkeep of the section of the hotel where I was staying was appalling. Doors were missing handles, hallways were full of dust and dirt, things were just so unkempt and outdated. Not to mention upon entering the room, I was immediately taken aback by the awful smell in the room. The television was an old tube 10" that only had a few channels and all of the buttons on the remote didn't work. The room had dead bugs on the lamp shades, walls, and on the floor in a few spots. The cabinet to the unclean and not even remotely cold mini-fridge only had one working hinge. The patio to the outside overlooking the unused dirty pool and unmanicured pool area was just unnerving. All in all, I won't be staying here again. There are plenty of other options available.

Staff always want a tip from you, rude and hardly speak English, unwilling to help, gym was broke down only 2 machine was kind of working and the rest was broken, they even ask me to climb in from the window was the door was broken, also breakfast was poor, not recommended travellers to stay.

This hotel is dated and run down. The toilet leaked, the doors don’t shut tight, the reading light above the bed was out, and internet connection was spotty. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff friendly but it was not a comfortable and relaxing hotel. The best thing about our stay was the live music that played in the lobby.

Stay away, this is not a luxury hotel

This hotel is struggling. This is not a luxury hotel by any means. Very old installations, mouldy, no wi-fi in the rooms just in the lobby (this hotel is massive so if you will stay in the lobby it's a 5 minute walk from the chalet area), a very limited selection for room service. I paid extra to get a Nile view but the management just deceived me saying that I can't get that room because I will have to stay in a twin room, which was not what I paid for, instead they put me in a room facing some trees. The management has to lie constantly and deceive the few customers that have now justifying the lack of what they advertise due to renovations. If you read the reviews this has been the excuse for more than a year, so this is just a plain lie. The hotel is very old and needs an urgent renovation. This hotel is just terrible, I regret staying here and even more paying extra to get a nice view.

An Island Oasis

We loved our stay at the Pyramisa Isis Island. We are a family of 5 with 3 teens/tweens - not easy to please all of us, but this place did. The location is beautiful and serene. It is, not surprisingly, located on an island in the Nile and is reachable only by a free ferry. The hotel is clean and our beds were very comfortable. We are in the Italian restaraunt and had a good meal. It wasn't the best food we have ever eaten, but it was one of the better ones we had while in the country. There are 2 pools, but we were there in winter so only one was open, but it was clean and beautiful, too. The service provided by everyone from baggage handling to pool guys to restaurant wait staff was excellent. These guys are as friendly as the reviews we read say. I highly recommend this hotel for comfort, location, beauty. As an added bonus, we had drinks each evening at the lovely sunset terrace. It was the most restful spot in Egypt. Loved it! The picture is the view from there.

This hotel is NOT FIVE STAR HOTEL. Please change the rating to 2 or 3 star. They did not have the room that we paid for. They gave it to someone else. With 2 kids at night we felt stranded without a room. They were try to offer us 2 seprate extremely dirty low quality rooms not even connected. What a scam from Expedia

The facility is very well located. It's a very good escape from any crazy motor vehicule life. However I think the facility need to be maintained cleaner. I was not impressed by the bathroom cleanliness or arrangement. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. They provide very good services.

The property has not been kept up. Rooms are not clean and like they should be for a highly rated hotel like this. WiFi options are limited and not upto par with the current global standards. Hallways are not maintained. Lighting in the rooms is a big issue. TV programming is horrific not only in terms of channels but the quality of picture and sound is not again up to par for a rated resort like this

I would like to give 5 stars if their phone line was working and direction was provided. You need to take a ferry and no instruction was provided where the ferry was. And nobody answered the call- this was 5pm local time.

The view was lovely but I’m afraid the food was very poor and the staff are very slow but it was okay for one night
