I was glad for the location and that they had security I did not like that the space for using the toilet had limited leg room even for me who is 5'3" The bed linens did not appear fresh and the overall state was not clean and I saw roaches in my room

Hotel Checking

Checking was horrible. It was not organized because there is no office staff to streamline things.

I stay here often when in Kingston. Perfect for a one or two night stay. No frills accommodation. No extras but very quiet.

My stay was actually very good. Only critiques would be to be more specific as to how to access the property. I can only imagine how difficult this could be for non Jamaicans. Otherwise, very clean, quiet, and helpful staff.

It was a great time. There was a party in front of the hotel which was also a great time. Great location. In walking distance of a lot of food spots, ATMs , attractions.

I felt comfortable overall, however, there was no hot water, the wi-fi was in and out and the first day of check in I had to search around the property for a security guard to check in as there isn't an actual "front desk".

Nice location. Very small one bedroom though . The room with two beds is a bit more manageable to move around though as I had the one bedroom.

Great and simple booking, staff was friendly and helpful, very convenient location, air conditioned. We didn't have any hot water even though the staff said the property usually have it.

The bathroom was extremely small! Couldn't even sit on the toilet.. I'm very disappointed especially for the price...

No hot water, no refigerator, no ironboard, no frontdesk service, bathroom very small. Toilet clogs up all the time. Do not waste your money using this property

I would not recommend this property to a dog. Bathroom is very small, can't accommodate two people using it at the same time. no hot water. Loud music playing at 6:00 a.m in the morning. No 24/7 front desk service as advertised. If you count the security guard that checked you in, then I guess that's their front desk service. The only staff you'll ever have contact with is the security guard. Toilet keeps clogging up. No iron in the room. No microwave, no refrigerator. I would not recommend this for free.

When Inwalked into the lobby, I immediately left.

I like everything just wished we had a microwave in the room and more hot water to take showers. Overall i would recommend it.

Pulse Rooms Review

Overall a pleasant stay. Really great location. However, bathroom needs door hooks for towels, bathcaps etc.; and the shower needs shelves for soap, shampoo etc. Room should have at least a mini fridge and an iron and ironing board.

The property was beautiful and was true to the photographic displays in Expedia. Notwithstanding this, it was a bit smaller than expected, but it was a wonderful experience.

Clean, quiet but need some upgrades. Bed was uncomfortable, bathroom was extremely small, needs 24 hr receptionist or at least a readily available contact. Overall, a pleasant experience.

I recently stayed at Pulse and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is wonderful—it's clean, quiet, and above all, safe. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional. I especially appreciated that no one entered my room to search it, which made me feel even more at ease. Highly recommend for a comfortable and secure stay!

Relaxing

My first night stay,there was a light problem.Breaker had issues.No light in my room and several other rooms from about to 11pm till i woke and got ready after 6am and still no light.So no AC,i was hot as hell that night.Phone could not charge.Had to use the phone for light,no TV.Then the second night the TV was not working.I dont know what time the light issue was fixed the following day because I made sure to be out all day till 8pm.Came in to light though.

The property is clean, has comfortable bed, warm water, convenient location, very clean and quiet even though you are in the heart of Kingston. The downside is that the bathroom is small and no iron is in the rooms plus you have to get breakfast outside so ideal if you don’t need those.

Little and coozy

The property was very clean, quiet located in a very central location close to everything you can think of. However, please note that if you are physically challenged this property may not be for you as you there are no elevator so this wouldn’t be for someone with mobility issues. The room itself was very, very clean, I liked it a lot, however, as soon as I stepped in i was being attacked by mosquitoes, there were a lot of them flying around and pitching on me, I had to go out to the store to buy an insect spray and come back to spray the room in an effort to kill the mosquitoes as I don’t want to be bitten by these insects as they are carriers of dengue, malaria other pathogens, I didn’t want to be bitten by these insects while sleeping then potentially contract one of the viruses that they carry. I think that the operators of the hotel should ensure that the rooms are sprayed and freed of mosquitoes before their guests arrive. Also, even though clean and comfortable barring the mosquitoes the room was lacking of the basics that you expect to find in any hotel room or AirBNB whether they are big or small establishments. There were no mini refrigerators in the room for guests to keep their water or drink cool. There were no complimentary water or snacks in the room for the guest. There were a kettle but no tea bags, no coffee, no sachets of sugar or milk. There were no iron or ironing board, the simple things you’d expect to find. Only these needs to be improved on.

The check-in process was smooth. The room was clean and comfortable. The property was quiet. I will definitely be staying here again.

A front desk was listed 24/7 at the property . The staff could be called but the only regular contactI had was with the friendly helpful security guard and parking monitor . He was helpful and watched out for me .

The room and bathroom too small

Great for short stays. Clean, comfortable and centrally located. Bathroom is a bit small but for a short stay that is not a deal breaker.

It's a great stay if you are passing through Kingston for a night or two. They host a local DJ night on Wednesdays if you're up for it. Dispite having not a restaurant, there is a small snack bar on property. There's also a rather tiny Peter Tosh museum on the premises.

The parking area was always crowded. The water was turned off by 10pm and until 10am.

Nice room, looked just like the pictures. Only issue is the WiFi connection.

What I liked was the fact that there were nearby restaurants, shopping malls which were all in walking distance but this hotel which really gives motel vibes was not worth the price , it is poorly constructed, no elevator and alot of stairs, my partner and i felt like we were going into a cave, the rooms are stuffy, there is one window in the bathroom. The room does not even a small refrigerator or microwave, the closet was poorly designed, you also have to ask for an iron and it was difficult to get it because you have to come out of the building to go look for this one man that seems to do everything from check in the guest to performing security dutues at the front of the property which is not inside the same building, so it was difficult to find him at times when I needed something plus there was no cleaning person to ask to have the towels changed or bed sheets changed and when we had checked in the toilet paper seemed to have been used so there was some left on the role but no additional just incase we needed it. Anyhoo, I could go on& on but i think i have said enough for a company who is actually on an international market for their modeling agency. You need to do better, this place is in need of alot of fixing. Please read the reviews and make some changes.

Quiet no frills hotel in a pretty decent area of Kingston. Not a lot of conveniences on site but there are quite a few restaurants and shopping nearby. Taxi service and buses are easily accessible. The room was clean so I had no issues. Only downside is that restaurants are closed by 8 pm and no room service available. Overall I had a good experience.

I booked this at 10AM the day of checking, so I’m not sure why when we arrived at 9:20PM after a much long exhausting day we were advised that our room was not ready. If my husband wasn’t so tired I would’ve left and went elsewhere. We booked this place for convenience and this wasn’t convenient at all. The old gentleman who was in charge of checking us in was very polite, however the owner needs to do better because it wasn’t his fault the room wasn’t ready but in my opinion hers. Completely unacceptable, you had over 11 hours to prepare the room! There should be no reason why check-in is in the afternoon & when we arrive in the night the room is STILL not ready. The gentleman had to accommodate us with another room that was prepped but wasn’t hours when he saw how long she was taking. I would’ve stayed here again if it wasn’t for that but it’s clear the owner is unprepared to accommodate guests in the manner in which they should. For that I would not stay here again.

The staff was nice and the property was clean. Some staircases had no handrails and some of the steps and floors were uneven which made for unsafe settings. Parking was awful. Overall, the place is average.

I just Needed a place for a few hours layover until my flight. It was ok for what I needed, but not a long term stay. They do not have any refrigerators in the rooms. If you have a long weekend stay in Kingston it’s ok, but as a vacation stay, I would Pass.

Safe and Quite place in the heart of New Kingston

I felt safe and it was close to the venues that were important to me. There is no "Front Desk" so I am not sure how you would report any service needs. My trash can was never emptied. But my main issue was that there was very little hot water for shaving. Overall, I still think it was a good value and a safe place and I would stay there again.

This property meet all my expectation,was clean and the bed was comfortable,everthing works well and i felt safe, was walking distance to supermarket,restaurant,emancipation park etc if not driving just 1m walk on the side road for a affordable taxi,location is very convinient,i recommend to anyone visiting or even locals.

After seeing the rooms and general appearance I did not feel safe so I told the receptionist that I was not comfortable and left. I eventually booked a room at the spanish court hotel for the night. I would like a refund

I had a great stay at the Pulse Rooms. During my visit I was able to attend Mixtape Wednesdays, a dancehall retro event at the property. They completely transformed the parking lot in a live DJ mix station with a bar. The vybe was absolutely wonderful and I enjoyed every bit of it. Surprisingly I could not hear a thing that was going on in my room when the music started. The staff was also helpful and WiFi very reliable.

Fantastic Stay! Would recommend to anyone who would like a place to stay in and around the New Kingston area.

My stay was great ! I was close to lots of shops and restaurants . Museums and the popular Devon house was close to my location. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful - I needed to get help with transportation for tours and they helped me with a personal driver . The room was well Appointed , modern and quiet. I would definitely stay again when I travel to Kingston .

Stayed at Pulse Rooms and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms given the price. I loved the wall painting in my room as it was absolutely beautiful and added a touch of elegance to the space without being too overwhelming. My wife and I headed to Devon House just five minutes walk away to get delicious ice cream. Highly recommend the flavour rum and raisin.

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel. It was affordable and the location was also very convenient. I was blown away by the exceptional service as the staff went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. They even helped me with my bags and assisted me to order food when I was too tired to go out. Overall 10/10 experience.

I had a wonderful time at Pulse Rooms. The location was perfect with easy access to all the places I needed to visit. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and made me feel at home in such a short time. The bed in the room was super comfortable with all the amenities I needed for a great stay. Amazing staff, they were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. Location was a short walk to Devon House. I would definitely stay again!

The Rooms were clean and modern, the AC worked well and the bathroom was nice, but there were a few things that made the stay okay and not great. There is no front desk check in, the security guard checked us in and led us to our room. The Wifi was very weak and would cut out often. There was only one lock on the door, and the walls were very thin, we were woken up multiple times by noises from adjoining rooms.

I dont even know where to start with this review!!! This place makes absolutely no sense! The person who checked us in was a security guard who wasnt even able to be found when we were checking out lol. The stairs were horrible. The ac barely worked. The only thing that was ok was the bed

It was a central spot however the rooms had low ceiling and no window.

No shops open on property. No water or fridge available. They couldn't find our room key. The room was extremely hot - not ready for a guest.

Room was very small and no hot water.

Small but safe & efficient. Had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Security present 24/7, loved that! Only thing I would change would be a peep hole in the door so I can see who’s at the door if someone knocks, doors that lock when leaving without using key & water temp was not hot on my second day. Wi-Fi was perfect, cable was perfect, bed was comfortable, room was clean & I loved the bathroom. I would recommend & I would stay again for sure.
