A bit hard to find even though it’s close to the metro. You have to go out from the right exit or you’ll have to make a big detour

It was very clean and the staff were very professional. Everything was pretty fancy and it was a very upscale experience, yet not that expensive. I really enjoyed my stay. I can’t think of anything I disliked. Some of the staff can’t speak English, but that’s all over Shanghai.

amazing stay, location great for travel

We did not get a chance to use it on Mar 7 because the booked date was wrong． It should be Feb 7 instead of Mar 7. We tried to talk with hotel manager on Feb. 7 for change or get some credits，it was rejected，The hotel asked us talk to Expedia but we can not reach it in china. We have to pay full price for the Feb 7． Before Mar. 7，we go there to negociate again，hotel still refuses to give us credit. Since we paid for March 7 via Expedia， hotel got the payment，it should be give customer some credit or refund if there is a date issue especially there is a full month gap，

The pool was closed. They did not have it open or available during the stay. They refused to let us use it and they did not tell us when we checked in that the pool was not open. Also, the breakfast was average at best. Two years ago I stayed here and it was the best place in Shanghai but today half of it was closed: no pancakes, no bread pudding, coffee was not hot, and the milk was watered down. No room servie was available, During these times, they shoud hire a lifeguard so guests can swim and have their normal menu for lunch. We would have extended and stayed 1-2 more days but the quality of stay and food was not the way it used to be. On their menu , they said they had no "steamed rice" or "spaghetti" , common foods and items they had before 2019. Even when requested, they ignored me when I asked for basic things. the only good thing was they gave me a toothbrush, but they should have offered a refund upon check in becaus the pool was closed, just suggest they get a foreign worker there, to have some basic standards.

Good place

Pool was ok , Breakfast was great. This pullman has a better breakfast than the Pullman South Shanghai one, just more choices and food tasted fresh. Walking distance from train station and 7-11 is right next door if you need to buy something.

Can’t Believe it is Accor....

Service level is far below expectations when check in. Luckily the lady do the cleaning has try her best to accommodate for all the services. Smoking smell when we walk in to the room despite we requested non smoking room. Construction activities during the time which very disturbing.

Location is great. Tap water running level in bath room is too low.

Overall, the property was better than I expected based on a number of reviews I read. Room (I was in a king room on the 22nd floor) was a good size, and bed was very comfortable. There was street construction outside, but the noise was not terrible at night (and, in any event, if was certainly beyond the control of the hotel).

Was very happy with my stay especially I was served by Kris at the restaurant who is very pleasant and caring toward my guest and I. Hotel room is comfortable and location is very convenient.

Great Location

It was amazing! Love the location. Walking distance to Shanghai Railway Station, it's so convenient if you plan a day trip to Suzhou or other cities. MRT just next door less than 1min walk. Plenty of convenient stores & restaurants nearby.

This hotel is conveniently located near the Shanghai High Speed Rail station. Only a 5 min walk to the station

This hotel was beautiful, from the lobby, right down to the bed. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed every moment of our stay here.

This property is a bit dated but kept in a reasonable condition. It’s worthwhile to stay on the executive level with more space and access to the club amenities. Overall staff are friendly and try to be helpful. The downside of this hotel is its location, not convenient for any foreign visitor, it’s not easy to walk around the property, and with no easy assess to shops. This area of old Shanghai train station has been continuously undergoing road and subway renovations for many years without any sign of completion, which is uncommon in China. Noice from the construction can be heard throughout the night.

Property looks very old or poorly maintained. Room was large but no window in bedroom and then very large window in bathroom. Bedroom was very dark. No hot water for shower in morning. Sink I. Bathroom didn’t drain. Carpets were extremely dirty.

Everything was good except cleanliness in the room. I had to kill a bug with blood on the bathroom floor. And there were ex-guest hair on the vanity top.

I have been staying here for many years, from before it became a Pullman. This visit was extremely disappointing. The concierge at the door was missing frequently which left you wondering where to go for help. The front desk only tried to call someone. The buffets for breakfast and for dinner were mediocre to bad. The temperature of the food was mostly cold and unappetizing. The executive lounge staff is poorly trained and left you with the opinion that they could care less if you were there. In the mornings 06:30 someone would arrive at exactly 06:30 and then begin to prepare the space. The food in the lounge was just out of the refrigerator and the range and offerings of beverages was sub-par anything I have ever experienced. Based on this visit I will be staying somewhere else in Shanghai which is sad since it is so convenient to the train station. They have the perfect location and yet they make you feel not welcome or appreciated

Smelly washroom

Vincent the concierge was very helpful and informative. The only complaint was the pillows were too soft. Overall a great stay.

pros: location close to subway anf train station, close to shopping mall and place to eat and is a nice hotel and affordable. cons: breakfast is expense, but have many great options to eat walking from the hotel Pullman Jing’an its a great hotel to stay.

Great breakfast variety and quality; I particularly enjoyed the soup station where you could select your own soup ingredients and they would make the soup on the spot. Room design for a superior room was fantastic with high ceilings, a concealed walk-in bathroom and window office desk. Room was cleaned/tidied daily in an efficient manner and disposables replaced promptly. There was also a cave light. Pay TV channel choice was decent and included access to HBO.

Service is Good. The hotel room is clean ang large. Also near the subway that make easy to go outside

Check in was painfully slow. I asked about being a Expedia Gold Member and was rudely told. “We are not Expedia, we have nothing to do with Expedia. That is only if we have availability”. A simple, we’re fully booked would have been fine.

Room for improvement

1. Fruit flavoured yoghurt used to be part of the breakfast spread. Now, only plain yoghurt is offered. I'm not sure why. 2. The oat meal in the breakfast spread is prepared and served cold - no diner seems to take well to cold coat meal. I have had to request for the oat meal to be heated up every morning. Perhaps the restaurant can provide hot oat meal instead. 3. There are 2 sets of lights on the left and right of the mirror in the vanity section of the bathroom that do not light up, rendering the bathroom dim and I have stayed in different rooms for November and December and it remains the same. 4. The size of the superior room and the deluxe room are the same - the hotel has confirmed that to me. Yet on hotels.com, the rate of the deluxe room is higher than the superior room. This is misleading. 5. The hotel should indicate the nearest metro on its website which is the Shanghai Railway Station, Line 1 Exit 5. Hotels.com should also indicate that - the exit makes a huge difference in travelling distance especially when one is carrying luggage.

Convenient location, clean room and good facilities. We've enjoyed our stay.

The room was spacious and it had the most comfortable bed that we slept in.

They had problems with my credit card, the concierge took my bags to my room and complained in chinese I didn't give him any tips. The room was good tho. The location is convenient but very terrible views from the rooms. The hotel is surrounded by old buildings.

Close to metro station, comfortable towels, cozy beds

Second time here, fairly central location, but the nearest subway exit was a stairway, and we struggled up the stairs with our luggages. Hotel deposit was a fairly large amount, and somehow the cancellation/refund of the initial charge couldn't be processed immediately for my Unionpay card upon checkout. Perhaps the hotel would like to check on related regulations/restrictions and advise guests on recommended payment modes accordingly.

Good size comfortable rooms and friendly helpful staff. But the breakfast was fraught with a host of irritating issues. It put me in a bad mood to start the day. For that reason I wouldn’t stay there again.

The hotel is in a great location and facility is great. However, the room (815) I had is a poor for any kind of sunlight. Only the washroom had windows that brought in sunlight. The main windows are blacked out as they face another building. This room (and others on this side) should be avoided.

Good location minutes from metro Our safe broke after 2 nights. The staff couldn’t fix it so we had to change room. They kind of downgraded us by placing us 8 stairs below.

Hotel is so convenient as it is next to Shanghai Railway metro station. Room is big and very clean. Comfortable bed. Not much of a view but can see far from 11 th floor. Many small restaurants around the area.

Modern 4 star in shanghai

Close to metro, nice modern clean hotel, view was nothing special, food in hotel was pricey and staff at reception a bit rude, requested a king room asked a 2nd time at arrival and got told no, complained and got offered a day later. Gym was tiny and pool closed for Reno.

Check in and check out time too long. Receptionist need extra 20 mins to issue the VAT tax receipt.

Great staff, a little weak on amenities

The hotel is very clean and the staff are quite friendly. Unfortunately, it was the beginning of a heat wave in Shanghai and my American needs for temperature control aren’t the same as Chinese standards, so for me the room was a bit warm. Also, the rooms are shower only, so I can’t recommend the hotel for much of a leisure or relaxing stay. I think it’s great for a night or two, but it’s not quite what I’d like in a longer vacation stay.

I usually stay at this hotel when I go to Shanghai, but this time I didn't have the same quality room that they usually offer me.

I exercise a lot when i travel, and it turned out there was no swimming pool, and the gym was only a very small room with little equipment.

Just a few minutes walk from Shanghai Station with lots of small shops around selling traditional Shanghainese food. Although the hotel is small, the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. We booked a 8-seater hotel limousine to the airport with reasonable price. Will stay in this hotel again next time.

Need renovation seriously

The room is really old and broke down if you look carefully. The hair dryer was broken before check in. The socket was damaged as well. It came out from the wall when I unplugged my adaptor. Lighting is not enough it was so dark in the bathroom. Renovation of the construction site was still going on at 9:30pm on weekends. Staff was just okay but service not exceptional like where i stayed at other hotels. They just answer what you ask for without providing further details.

The 2 nd night when I was staying in Pullman , all electricity just went off in midnight 1:30am. I am quite surprise a 4 star chain hotel with no generator ! And I called the services line seems they are not proper training to handle this kind of suitation ,no reply and updates and even an apologise . Till like 3:30 am in the morning the electricity went back normal :(

Best Location

Book this hotel coz it’s close to the train station and shuttle to the airport. Although I didn’t use the subway, but it should be pretty convenient for other travelers. Rooms had been remodeled, beds are comfortable. Room is clean. Didn’t like the check in process. I reserved a room with two twin beds and asked the girl named Abby to see if she can switch to a king bed room. The answer was no. I accepted it. While I was still there waiting for the key, another guest came to check in with Scarlet. He also booked through a travel agency. He made the same request to have a king room instead of twin room and Scarlet accomendated his request. That was a slap on the face. That guest is Caucasian and I am Asian. Not sure if that was the reason why we got different treatments, but heard people were saying hotel staff value foreign guests more. And the room I got from Abby was right across from the elevator, speechless. However, I have to give credit to the girl who accomendated my request for a late check out the next day. Too bad I called from my room and didn’t get her name. Concierge was good, I left my luggage there after check out without any issues and they offered to call cab for me upon departure.

Hotel was great albeit small room. It is a bit old compared to other Pullman hotels I have been to but still good considering everything. Good value for money.

Great hotel.

Caution: risk of losing your life in this hotel

I stayed in room 1116 on new year eve 2017-2018. The main power switch doesn't control the lamp on the nightstand, so I was looking for the switch. And to my shock, the yellow electrical wire was cut and exposed. Since the light was still on, this indicates that the "ground" wire has been terminated so the lamp was not grounded, leading to potential risk of electrical shock. This is not acceptable! This cable does show sign of repair, but why did they intentionally left the ground wire unrepaired and exposed? Any exposed wire sprouting from a 220v outlet is extremely dangerous! This hotel should be immediately banned from any US based travel agency until improvements are made and electrical hazards are removed. I am a manager working for a top US electric company so I know what I am talking about.

Well Managed Business Hotel

Generally good with courteous and efficient staff. Unfortunately lobby was small cramped and poorly designed. Counter can only serve 2 at a time and no clear system of queueing. There were only 4 seats cramped against the wall if you like to wait in the lobby. We all know the importance of first impressions. Lobby and service counter does a diservice to this hotel.

Not the best pullman i have stayed in.

During winter, apparently this hotel doesn't provide you with a choice of heater/ac. The hotel staff admitted that the controller is not functioning (to our preferences) and it works under a centralized HEATER ONLY system controlled by the hotel. I was having problems sleeping because it was too hot and i couldnt on the AC. Even by opening the window it didnt help much. But good thing manager SEVEN helped us out and eventually helped us move to the coldeset room in the hotel that was available and upgraded our stay. That helped a lot. But i dont think we will be coming back to this hotel. Service of the people was rather poor, and for a pullman hotel, it did not live up to its brand. The WIFI was SLOW and spotty, terrible. The shower though, really annoying as you have to keep holding it when you are showering. it is purposely designed in a way that if you put the shower head to its original "hanger" , you cannot adjust it to point to a way you want it to point. so the only way to keep showering is to hold it. and when you want convenience you can use the rain bath but for women, it will be hard if you dont want to get your hair wet. Only plus points were that the surroundings area had MANY delicious restaurants options available, some convenience stores, and the train station is literally steps away from the hotel. But for the price it is quite decent. The room is clean + comfortable, toilet is also clean + modern.

Local is very convenient, lots of eateries around. Shanghai Station is right next door. Lighting in room is not enough. Staff serving breakfast was not very attentive or friendly. The air cond in the room cannot be adjusted, it was so hot we had to switch it off and have the window opened when we were in the room.

Located close to public transports

Perfect location as it is not far from most public attractions. There are also about 8 restaurants situated nearby the premise as well as a 7-11 and a family mart. In case weather gets too cold you can just walk across the building to Uniqlo. Perfect!

Construction work starts at 8am...

Overall the hotel is ok, only the construction work that started every 8am bothers me very bad. Couldn’t fall back to sleep due to the loud noises. We weren’t notify that there was construction when we booked this hotel until we checked into our room and saw the note on the table. If i knew there was construction starting at 8am even on saturday and sunday, i might have booked another hotel.
