Pueblito is unbeatable for pools and views
Place was great! Top pools have incredible views. Really doesn’t get much better than this right in Playa del Carmen. However on check in the front desk person refused to allow us into our room because we didn’t know what our room number was and some other thing we are still unsure if even though we had all the papers showing we had paid for the room. We had some Spanish speaking friends who convinced him that we should be let into the apartment. After 10 minutes he let us in but for a time we were left wondering if we would be getting in or not. Quite unsettling.
Steps from the ocean, numerous restaurants and shopping but best of all the roof top pools! The large pool looking out over the ocean and the small private pools for each room. A great place to retreat to after a long day of adventure.
Location! Location! Location!
Location is perfect!!! Walking distance to Quinta Avenida, pharmacies, groceries, restaurants, etc. Room 304 has a balcony facing the family pool and it was mostly closed during our stay, so we did not have noise issues. Rooms, bathrooms, private pool, all needs some major TLC. Cracked tiles, missing tiles, inconsistent shower, clogged drains... Daily house keeping is a lie, its every 3 days. Communication with hotel prior to trip was nonexistent, but once there front desk was extremely helpful! Would stay there again for location alone but rooms bathrooms and kitchen need major renovation.
Ok
Communication is terrible. No one ever answers the phone or e-mails. I called for 2 hours about 50 times, I also sent e-mails and never got a reply. I don't know if they do the basic cleaning, but my no one cleaned our condo not even once in our 4 day stay. Other than that the condo is in a very convenient location, it was clean and had all we needed.
Nice hotel
Pueblito escondido was awesome!! Everything is so centric. Will stay again.
Will come back!
It was a good location. A lot of restaurants nearby which was awesome.
Loved it!
The place is amazing!! Loved the infinity pool (adults only). It’s just a few steps from the beach and walking distance from restaurants and bars. Highly recommended. Great customer service
Loved it
Overall everything was great. Great service, location, very clean, and very spacious. Only complaint I have is that the bed was hard
Excellent location steps to the beach. If you dont like this property you shouldnt be travelling. It is top notch
We stayed in the pent house and loved the fact that we had our own private pool and terrace. Arrived at the hotel at about noon and they did not allow us to check in early (check in was at 3 pm). They literally checked us in at 2:55 pm. The hotel was unoccupied for most of the part. Only saw maybe 3-4 more rooms/families around. Not once did they come and check if we needed more paper towels/TP. Asked one of the cleaning ladies to borrow a broom so we could sweep up the sand in the condo, and she stated she was already on her way out, to ask the next person coming in. Also showers on the outside as you enter the property from the side to wash off the sand did not work. Such a lovely and potential place, maybe just needs better management. Steps from a public beach and several restaurants and shops.
Great location! Spacious, comfortable room with direct pool access. A few steps to the beach. Not as clean as we would hope. There were loads of mosquitoes in the room... we killed 6 as soon as we entered and had to go out to buy insecticide and sleep with repellent every night. Also they have a cockroach problem... we killed 3 :( Honestly I think you can get much better places for the money. Our las night we changed hotels, 2 bocks away, half the price and waaaaay nicer!
Location is great, first block from the beach. The street has many good restaurants close by and the Quinta avenida is walking distance.
Need more washers and dryers and ac in elevator everything else was great
It’s in a nice location w a beautiful roof pool. We were disappointed w the apartment conditions .. smelly stuffy rooms .. the bedsheets and cover were smelly and
It all started with Cecilia who was supposed to receive us for check in but because she said she was off that day we had to check in in the lobby no big deal, when we get to our room it’s not what we had reserved, we reserved 2 bedroom penthouse 1 with 2 beds 1 with 1 king size bed plus an additional roll out bed Instead we got 2 rooms with 2 beds in each of them no rollout bed ready had to request it again, very disappointed. What’s worse is that Cecilia who I guess represents Mestik check us in until Friday 1 day before we headed back home. So Saturday on check out day they accuse us of 2 towels messing, as if we stole them, but because nobody check us in because Cecilia didn’t work on Sunday to explain the inventory on hand etc, it just felt very unpleasant at the end
The rooms are huge. We had a two bedroom with two baths and it was very large. The staff does not speak English (sometimes). Not a big problem, but be aware.
Poor maintenance
Love the quiet life action and easy access to the beach and 5th Avenue. The maintenance of these Condos needs attention, compared to our visit at Christmas 2017 the place looked tired and needing attention. Our private pool had in particular needs maintenance
Good property and nice pools. Very close to beach. Be careful with housekeeping crew, they took two beach towels and never replaced. The management charged me $16 a beach towel that was never replaced by housekeeping. When housekeeping leaves, they don’t lock your room. Everyday after cleaning I was able to just open my door with out a key. Also, they slow and at times shut down the WiFi in room with the hope you will pay for faster WiFi upgrade. Be ready to pay $10 to use the laundry facility each time. They will also charge you double for the water they provide in the room
Such a nice place to stay!
Enjoyed our time very much. Great place and service
Nice condo by beach and 5th ave.
This condo is a great location. The beach is just outside the door but not the nicest section of beach in Playa. Love how close you are to 5th ave, shops and restaurants. The condo was nice (not as nice as the photos) and I would stay here again.
Great 2 bd Condo hotel...but not a "RESORT".
We stayed here because of the location AND because we wanted 2 bedroom condos. We have a big family and we brought friends too....we needed....space. Overall we are glad we stayed here. The size, the price of the rooms and the location were GREAT. The condos were good. I wouldn't say GREAT. Again, great size, price and location. They were clean. I wouldn't say "dirty" but they were simple. The outside of the complex was a bit older and walking through the hotel to your room you might not feel that you made the best choice :-)...then in your room it's not bad. We thought our rooms were fine. We had 3 condos. Everyone else in our party liked their room...but we did have 1 of our friends who booked the 6 day trip & after getting to their room felt that their room had a weird smell...so they decided to leave the hotel and go the Hyatt. They lost out on their payment...since it was non refundable. Which was sad but they wanted a safe resort with a VERY clean room and amenities...there are no real amenities here. It's not that it's not "safe"...it is just that it's kind of just a condo for sleeping. Pool...no one uses it. NOTE they DO have rollaways. No loud parties...even at spring break...so that was nice. If you want to save money, have lots of room, be in a good location...100 yards to the beach & 1 block to 5th AVE....easy walking to both...then this is GREAT place. Can't beat it for the price. If you want a resort to hang out...book other but pay MORE$$$
Stains on the couches made them look dirty. Same with all the curtains in the rooms. Dead cockroaches on the hallway. This place has very bad management.
Nice apartments hotel central in Playa Del Carmen
Hotel consists of apartments with one or two bedrooms, it is new as construction, modern and spacious, has an outdoor area with swimming pools for families and adults only on the roof, it is very well taken care of and I am glad I opted for this place for our stay in Playa. Staff is very friendly, accommodating and efficient. They also helped us with valuable Tipps for our time in Riviera Maya. We had some small incidents with condensation water leaking in the lobby from one of the AC pipes running in the ceiling of our unit, staff was very quick to try to fix this and accommodate us. I would surely go back there again, location is close to everything you want in Playa, and is quite in the same time.Beach area close by was not accessible during our stay, hopefully in the future that will change.
5 Stars
Recommendations and overall. Let me begin by saying that I'm not a hotel snob, meaning I've stayed in some of the worst hotels in the world and let me state I can appreciate a good hotel. Our first five days we decided to stay at Pueblito Escondido then our last 3 days at another hotel for an all inclusive to relax and splurge, reason that we did all the tours the first 5 days. Tours Chichen, Explor, Tolum ect... are tours that last all day! from 7 am to 6 pm. Unless you plan stay at the Hotel all day this is the Hotel for you. Location: perfect location! On a quiet beautiful street with really nice restaurants, 5 minute beach walk to mammitas beach, WAS considered one of the nicest 15+ years ago, not anymore. Used to be full of Europeans sunbathing, now it's full of Chilangos that get hammered and don't know how to behave. We had to move spots on the beach a few times because of vulgar conversations next to us. Room is beautiful, Balcony, Kitchen with EVERYTHING you need, Two restrooms, Two rooms, 3 beds, Living room, Dining room ect... I would recommend this place highly. It was just two of us :) It's nicer than my own home LOL... We must have seen about two other people on out hotel. Very Nice peace and quiet. OXXO (Mexican version of AMPM, 7-11) right next door. Stocked up our fridge with water, beer, snacks, ect... The bad: on our check out day no electricity or water since 5 am. not a big problem if we hadn't check-in to another hotel. I would stay again. 5 stars.
Excellent Hotel
I highly recommend this hotel. The room was very clean. The location is excellent, very close to the beach and restaurants. The staff was very professional and friendly. We will come back to this hotel next year !! The price is very reasonable and the quality is outstanding. Before my trip, my only concerned was that the location looks a little bit far from the beach. We were happily surprise that the beach is only steps away from the hotel.
14 steps to the sand
Third time here, we like the size of the units and the rooftop "no kids" pool.
Their system isn't linked to expedia
this is the first time something like this happened but i arrived at the hotel after booking through expedia. arrived at 8 pm after a long flight and couldn't wait to get into bed and take a shower instead the hotel said that the flight is full and i didn't make the reservation then i called expedia who then called the hotel and expedia apologised and gave me a token credit
great condo hotel
very close to beach, small grocery store next door, beautiful roof top pool
bad stay at Pueblito. Checked out after day 1.
This place looks nothing like the photos. Dirty, unkept, pools small and cannot be used by kids. Clientele makes you feel unsafe and doors do not lock from the inside. Wood floors broken and you can easily get injured. Close walk to beach however that section of the beach is rowdy and loud. Short beach before water.
Ideal location for us.
It's steps from the beach and a short walk to Mamitas, our preferred beach club. Our last visit was 4 years ago and we were surprised that there was so much seaweed washed ashore. I mean mounds & mounds of seaweed!! Rooms are clean but showing some wear. Same goes for the pool that is missing tile pieces and needing to be cleaned of stuff blowing into the water. Still, we are on holiday so we didn't mind. Concierge staff & housekeeping were excellent. The front desk staff was good, but not overtly friendly. Generally we had to initiate the greetings and smiles & we were a bit thrown off that even upon check-in after a long journey, there was no, "Welcome! How are you?" that we get at other establishments. Maybe he was having a bad day or just has a stoic personality. Still, friendliness leaves big impressions.
Very close to the beach and 5th Ave.
Loved it! Keshi, the condo manager went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we had the best experience. Thank you, Keshi. You are so wonderful! See you next year!!!
Nice hotel, close to the beach
There is construction going on right beside the hotel. You're best off to request a room on the side closer to the beach. There is plenty of space and the pool is clean.
Family Spring Break Vacations
Excellent Hotel, very close to the beach & the 5Th Ave, Restaurants & Shopping.
Nice location
We just got back from 6 days at Pueblito. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. It was great for our family if 5. We don't like all inclusive type places or secluded resorts where you can't get out and walk to anything, so this was perfect for us. We enjoyed walking to breakfast and dinner each day. I went for a daily morning jog in 5th Avenue. Our young kids particularly enjoyed our rooftop plunge pool. The location of the hotel is nice- it is on the slightly quieter north side of Playa del Carmen, but close to many restaurants. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean. We did have trouble getting extra blankets for the roll away bed and never got an extra bath or beach towel but overall we were very happy and would stay again.
Good but noisey
Other than the steady noise, it was good. Remove the construction and other noise, improve service a tad, and this would be a truly great little property
Great location. Nice place
Clean, friendly, steps from the beach, close to 5th Ave. The staff were very helpful and friendly. No real amenities on-site. Nice pools and grounds but no services. That was fine with us as we are very self sufficient. The adult only roof top pool area is great. Rooms are spacious and well kept. We even got an unexpected upgrade to a 2 bed 2 bath suite - big! There are two independent restaurants and a convenience store right there. Very handy and both restaurants were good. Within a short walk there are more restaurants, bars, and shops than you could use. It's over a mile to reach the far end by the ferry port. We walked it several times. Wi-Fi was good. Overall, worked great for us - an older, experienced couple.
amazing people/amazing place
The staff was always very friendly and helpful I would totally recommend this stay ! The price for the room was very good ! They provide beach towels and things like this that helps a lot ! OXO station is right there for any of your drink needs or a quick snac !
Nice hotel until the check-out....
This hotel is quite good located, the room and the facilities are Ok. There is no microwave witch in or case-travelling with little kids-was kind of disappointing. The wi-fi connection in our room (101) was extremely poor, after a few days we complained with the front desk and they offer us a better service for US$ 14 per day. We have a very bad experience with the Check-out process, the front desk employee told us they detected some "stains" on one bed so they have to charge some cleaning fee (around US$ 60), I told him, Can you show me the stain?, and he reply "Sorry we can´t do it because its already clean". We request to speak with the manager and then “Mr. Aureliano” appears, he mentioned that they would charge our guarantee credit card with or without our approval. We argue how can they do that if their can´t demonstrate that we did it?, and he answer "We always charged these kind of fee without arguing with our client". They will rip you off without a proof !!!
Good condo hotel walking dist.to 5ave&beach
Friendly staff good service and plenty of parking. Always willing to help. Close to beach & 5ave pedestrian st. Excellent rooftop pool.
Quiet hotel steps from the beach
Hotel was right by the beach. Literally steps away. Has 2 restaurants and a convenience store below which was handy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was huge! We originally wanted to upgrade to the room with plunge pool but there are a out 6 and the pools aren't very private. If your on the roof to deck at the adult pool which was very quiet it's not really worth the upgrade. We were here for our honeymoon. Usually would of been fine but considering we prob would stay somewhere nicer if it was for a special occasion but we had just stayed at an all inclusive so we were a bit spoiled. Resort was super quiet which we loved!
Close to the beach
Definitely not worth that much money way over priced, we had the luxury suite with the pool, pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, the front desk lady was not welcoming at all. Our room did not have enough space to put all of our belongings we had to use the other bedroom, the only good part was it was close to the beach at least since there was no view and you can hear other people through the walls.
This hotel/condo is very close to the beach!
We got to the hotel and they did not have our room available for both nights, so we had to change rooms. They offered to reimburse me, but the hassle of changing rooms was not worth it. The hotel was however very spacious, clean, and the location was fantastic!
Nice Condo close to both the beach and Quinta
My family of four had a great stay at Pueblito. While the rooms and amenities weren't up to snuff for a true five star luxury hotel they deserve a top rating for overall value. Rooms were spacious, clean, and fairly well maintained though much of the kitchen utensils were very cheep. The property is a two minute walk from the beech and a five minute walk from the quieter and in my mind more desirable end of Quinta. The combination of price, location, and spaciousness exceeded my expectations ans was in line with my better experiences with condo rentals in Mexico. What really made the property shine though was the front desk staff and in particular their concierge Keshi. Unlike other condo rentals experiances I have had they have a 24 hour front desk and concierge. They were always ready to assist with fresh towels or any other needs we had. Keshi in particular was a great asset, he really is your local guide and having eaten everywhere and having done everything he was a spectacular resource. He helped us find several off the beaten path beeches and cenotes, helped us with snorkel equipment, warned us of beech closures due to protests and in general made our entire vacation more enjoyable. If you need to be pampered at every turn I have no doubt there are more luxurious properties in and around playa, but you will pay for it. This hotel is for you if you want a spacious comfortable location in the heart of playa and local knowledge that will make your trip better.
Spoiled trip
Though the room was satisfactory the nickel and dime business down graded the overall experience. Especially at their prices for their accommodations!
Great location close to everything !
The property is in a great location with great access to the beach and 5th avenue. We had a penthouse suite with our own pool on the roof. The property is showing a bit of age. We had a problem with the a/c but it was fixed right away.
A very tired and leaking building....rain through the ceilings in our condo on more than one occasion. Don't doubt this was once luxurious but it must have been a few years ago! The saving grace is the adult only area and pool.....albiet that also has it's needs for maintenance
Great condo near the beach
Very attractive condo close to the beach. The two bedroom condo was very nice and spacious. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Large balcony overlooking the lower pool. Some balconies were smaller than ours. Some were also completely covered - ours was not, which was fine. Kitchen had enough utensils but didn't have much on the way of pots or pans - there was only one pot. Luckily I didn't have to cook. When booking I was told there was a king size bed in each room but that was not the case-the master had a king size but the other bedroom only had two singles. That was a little disappointing. The rooftop pool was very cool. No there was never a bartender there. But I don't think they're busy enough to have a bartender. No big deal for us, just bring your own. The beach is right there, there's a small convenience store next door along with a restaurant that we did not go to. And you're only about 2 blocks from 5th avenue. However since you're at the very end of 5th ace you might want to take a car part way down, park, and walk the other half of 5th. We enjoyed our stay and were very pleased with the condo.
Nice condo with short walk to the beach
The condo was nice. However, when we arrived they had problems with several units and some of our group got free upgrades to larger units while others were transferred to another set of condos. We were not able to select which guests stayed at which condo complex and with 10 people in our group and renting 2 vans. We ended up with both drivers at 1 location, which was inconvenient for our group. We also had 1 person charged for all of the rooms (the one that made the reservations) and were not able to receive a credit for that 1 person and then charge the other cards separately.
Good location, old facilities
The noise of the A/C is terrible outside the rooms. Our termostate didn't work. We were not told when booking that they were remodeling the adult pool and it was noisy
An apartment/condo in a hotel format
We were pleasantly surprised to learn upon arrival that our room was really an apartment with a full kitchen, living room, dressing room, bed room and bathroom. We were expecting a hotel room in a Condo format, instead we had a Condo in a hotel format--such a better arrangement. A block from the beach, with an infinity pool large enough to swim laps on the roof of the building and another one outside our back door for families. The landscaping was very attractive and very well maintained. We recognized many of the plants from Hawaii and as tropical house plants at home. The location was perfect, within walking distance of the beach, the shops and local vendors, restaurants, and events along 5th Ave and at the town square. Hotel staff was friendly, very helpful, and courteous. The front desk staff spoke excellent English and the house cleaning and maintenance staff could communicate at least minimally in English.
Enjoyed my stay!
I would recommend this condo, great location and stress free environment. It's very close to everything, beach and 5th ave.
Awesome close to the water and down the street from 5 avenida.
Great family trip!
This condo has the perfect location to the beach (just steps away) and close walking distance to Calle 5 (5th Street). You and your family and can safely walk to Calle 5 for restaurants, pharmacies and a variety of shops and of course, vendors selling their wares. Be prepared, as vendors will call out to you to come in their shops or tables to sell you something. Great souvenior choices for the whole family & friends. Taxi's everywhere to take you to tours or anywhere you want to go. Shout out to Rudolpho - a great taxi driver! Respectful & clean taxi. We traveled with 2 teenager boys this condo is great especially with kids.
Clean and Comfortable
The staff was very helpfull and aware of our needs. Traveling with 4 age group and all wanting to do different things could be a challenge but they assisted with finding correct restaurants
Playa del carmen 2015
This hotel was beautiful , the hotel was clean , their service was amazing ! One block away from the ocean (= ! And 2 blocks away from 5th avenue! We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, we had 2 reservations. The first 2 nights we stayed at the penthouse and we were supposed to move to a suite for the 3rd night ! Unfortunately or fortunately one of the bathrooms in the penthouse broke and they did maintenance all morning and the guy from front desk Fernando, was amazing he managed to let us stayed for the 3 nights at the penthouse, as an apology for the inconvenience for the bathroom issue! Overall our experience was amazing !
Awesome little hidaway
Little hidaway very close to all the hub ubb in the town
Playa Visit
Good location.....walking distance to many restaurants and shops...rooftop pool was nice...hotel could use some maintenance..room had a funny smell.
This place was fantastic!
This hotel was in a great location- feet away from the beach- and 2 blocks away from the main strip of bars and restaurants on 5th Avenue. I actually prefer this end of 5th Avenue as it seems a bit less toursity. The hotel is actually condos that have been rented out but they do have a front desk person at all times. The free wifi is spotty at times but works most of the time. Make sure to leave the hotel's vicinity and go to restaurants and bars down the way- we loved Sur, DV, 100% Natural, Muelle (seafood) and the food on the beach at El Taj. The view from the rooftop pool is lovely and it's very quiet. It's a great place to enjoy sunset. Lastly, our room was huge and had a full kitchen and a nice patio (room 214).
Terrible experience-DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL
My friend, her daughter, and I stayed in this hotel because we searched online and read review. This hotel is terrible, first, the room smells chemical, second, it is very inconvenient and far from the center and not on the beach, third, so dirty and gross, there are blood mark on the tower and all towers are broken, they still serve the guest. There is nothing looks like the pictures showed online, very small hotel. We had really bad experience!
We loved it!!
We (us 2 and our 2 daughters, 8 and 10) rented one of their pent houses with a private pool and terrace and it was the greatest! The hotel is placed on the northern part of Playa del Carmen which is much calmer and nicer than closer to the center. A lot of nice restaurants and stores on 5th Avenue and on the side streets. If you walk further north on the beach it gets wider and more private. This is a prefect location to stay! We loved it!!
What a great place!
The Pueblito is the perfect combination of location and atmosphere in Playa del Carmen. Our condo was huge, very clean and nicely decorated. The balcony gave us a place to sit outside and drink coffee in the morning and watch the neighborhood wake up. The ground level pool area is beautifully landscaped and quiet and the rooftop pool area has many choices of either shade or full sun to catch a few rays, and the views are fantastic! We will definitely be back and hopefully bring friends!!
Close to restaurants and the beach.
We enjoyed our stay. There was a couple of small issues that the hotel staff corrected promptly. Close to the beach, restaurants and 5th avenue. Overall we would definetly stay there again.
Great for families
Nice hotel if you want to enjoy playa del carmen. kitchen in room is must when you travel with young children. Was perfect!
Pueblito Escondido is the BEST!
Everything was perfect. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and above all maintain a clean and inviting environment. The pool is spectacular, my family stayed in a Penthouse Room with private pool that is perfect for family, loved it and we will back soon!!
Stay Elsewhere
First off I requested a king bed through this site and when I got to the hotel, was told there were no king beds available and that there was nothing they could do. Thanks a lot. Last time I book through a third party website. Cons...the mattresses were like sleeping on plywood. The comforter was like dead weight. The bedrooms are located right by the hallway so noise is an issue. Birds have nested in the rooftops and have made the pool their own personal water fountain. The edge of the pool is covered in bird dung. The water pressure is unpredictable and completely shut off while showering There are no pots or bake ware. This is neither luxury or waterfront. The building is musty and in disrepair. Pros.... Clean, maid service daily, spacious
Great apartment
new, clean, spacious, friendly staff, good Location. Could have stayed there our whole vacation.
Big Rooms at affordable Prices!
Service was great, found the rooms very large and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Amazing ridden treasure
This was the best experience in Riviera Maya I've ever had! Everything was perfect, from super professional and friendly staff to amazing amantities and the gorgeous and unbeatable rooftop infinite swimming pool. Our hotel stay in Mexico could not be better!
Great location and good staff
Very nice place. Enjoyed our stay! Although the staff was friendly they could have been more informative about the property. The Resturants attached to hotel were not very good and overpriced. I would stay again.
Nice hotel close to the beach. nice swimming pools
The only problem is that this hotel does not have a restaurant open 24/7. it has two restaurants one of them is for dinners only and the other opens at 8am. Just make sure you buy your own water.. coffe.. milk.. etc because the hotel does not have any. internet service is not relaible.. they can install an unit in your room but it will cost you around 20.00 USD. Also.. they do not have beach service.. but there is a place at the north where you can buy drinks and rent beach chairs
Feedback
Hotel was as advertised, condo was roomy and comfortable with facilities all working. Location was good only a few minutes walk from 5th avenue, staff were friendly.
beautiful hotel half a block from the beach
We had a two bedroom penthouse suite with a roof terrace and splash pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful even before we arrived. They arranged for our round trip private transfer from and to airport. We really didn't do much but relax and enjoy the beach which is just what we were looking for. We were there at the perfect time of year. After spring break and the high season, so we had no trouble getting into restaurants and basically had the hotel to ourselves until later in the week when the weekend crowds arrived.
Great location and large room
We were surprised on how large the rooms were. If you were traveling with a group it would be easy to host dinner in the living room and dining room area. While we did not use the kitchen it would be very nice if we had stayed longer. The location was great. 100 ft from the sand, very quiet at night and a only a few blocks walk to 5th street.
Big room in good location
Great if you are staying with a family or large group. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking if you wanted to do that though there are many good restauarants in the area
Good Value on the nicer end of 5th Ave
This was a good value at the time we booked and the room is very large - it was more for a family of 4-5 or two couples. It is a condo hotel so not the services like restaurant, room service, etc. but if you want to be on the more laid back side of 5th Ave and many of the better restaurants and shopping this is the place. Close to a good beach and beach clubs. Only problem was the road in front of the hotel was still not paved so a lot of dust out front. Also - it would have been good to have a hair dryer in the room.
Great family vacation!
We had a great stay at Pueblito Escondido. Great location and only a few blocks for restaurants and shopping, steps from the beach, friendly staff and a beautiful pool with an amazing view with excelent value and great settings, definitely would come back and stay here again.
good location. good price/quality balance
we stayed in April. on the first level on the side closer to the sea the floor plane is spacious. place was quiet. rooms closer on the opposite side closer to the restaurant possibly are noisier. there is a swimming pool on the roof of the hotel. very nice and cool place. daily maintenance is good
Fantastic Condo Hotel
Great location, just steps from beach, fifth avenue and restaurants. We just loved our roomy two bedroom condo, staff were very friendly. We have done both all-inclusive and this condo hotel and we prefer this over any all-inclusive. We liked the freedom of eating any where we want, at any time we want and not being paraded around like cattle in a feed lot like an all-inclusive.
Single beds penthouse
Hi, We made a reservation to stay at the Pueblito Escondido Luxury Condo in Playa del Carmen. We got the most expensive room, a penthouse, for 4 guests. The description on the website and reservation states: Two Bedroom Penthouse Top floor with Kitchen 2292 Sq.Ft - 1 king bed and 2 twin (single) beds We arrived at Pueblito escondido and for our surprise we had 2 bedrooms with 2 twin single beds. I was with my husband and very disappointed that we had to sleep in single beds. We asked the front desk if we could have a different room - I mean, the room we reserved and paid for - and they informed that the whole facility only have 1 penthouse with the description above. So they sold something they don't have! And we paid for that! After we complained, they offered a 20% discount that we still waiting to receive. They say that they already authorized the discount and that the site is the one that needs to refund us. Can you please let us know how can we solve this issue? Since we didn't get what we paid for, I would like to receive my 20% discount. Thanks
Almost perfect
I had an overall great experience in this hotel. The only complains i have is that it is not on the beach and is a bit far (walking distance) from the clubbing area. Apart from that the rooms are great, beds very confortable, staff friendly and good facilities.
Great Location in Playa Del Carmen
Close to 5th Ave., but secluded away, very close to the beach! Quiet hotel, beautiful rooftop pool. Staff was very friendly. Couldn't pick a better Playa location, relaxed yet a short walk to the nightlife.
Fabulous vacation!!
We had a great stay at Pueblito Escondido. Great location and only a few blocks for restauants and shopping, steps from the beach, friendly staff and a beautiful pool with an amazing view. We will come back and stay here again.
Pueblito Luxury Condohotel
This hotel was wonderful. All of the front desk employees were friendly and knowledgeable and spoke great English. Literally across the street from the beach, you couldn't ask for a better location. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. Not much water pressure in the showers, but that was fine. It was a 2 minute walk to 5th Avenue. There were tons of restaurants with amazing food and live bands. People watching was at it's finest. We went to Yo Amo Tacos 2 nights, it was so delicious. Had the best guacamole of my entire life at Chango, just a block from the hotel. Took the bus to Tulum to see the ruins. We decided that wasn't worth our time, but the beach at Playa Paradisio lived up to it's name Paradise Beach. Had a great lunch at the restaurant on the beach as well while we waited out the rain. The best part of the trip was XCaret. It was an amazing ecopark full of things to do. Great food, beautiful beaches, snorkeled in the underground Cenotes and swam with sharks. Definitely worth the $129 admission, which included a buffet and free drinks. Was able to save $10 by purchasing through the hotel directly.
Nice Hotel close to the beach
Nice apartments, a little dark on the first floor though. The pool upstairs is very nice but for adults only. Downstair there is a nice pool too, 1m20 deep. The hotel is almost on the beach, in a quiet dead end street which is very close to the center of activity, the 5th avenue. The hotel location was perfect for us. The receptionist was very helpful and courteous . It was a good experience.
Poolside location, next to the beach
In terms of location this is just a great place to stay. My wife and I (mid 50's) wanted to be close to the beach (and 50 meters is close!), close to 5th Avenue (2 minutes walk), but away from the noise and chaos (thankfully, we were). The amenities? Excellent infinity pool on the roof with a view of the beach and surrounding area. We were in room 103 on the ground floor. Open the patio door and the other pool is right there with available padded loungers. Very nice. There are no services like in a hotel, other than daily room cleaning and bedding change, which we were surprised to see. You do need to bring in your own food, drinks, etc, but they are conveniently close. The cons? This area has a distinct smell that you may notice more or less depending on the breeze. It's kinda sulfur-ish, but it is not sewer - it's actually caused by the mangroves whose roots produce the odor that ends up offshore and blows back inland (we checked). Walk up the beach a few hundred yards towards Mamitas and it disappears. We did notice an odor in the condo a bit - more so if the air was turned off. The condo itself was a large, spacious one bedroom with full kitchen, sitting, dining, and bedroom, complete with a safe. It was kept very clean, daily. There is some signs of wear and tear but nothing major. We did notice a few of the large floor tiles would flex when you stepped on them - no big deal, just an observation that the floor was not perfectly flat when they were laid, so at some point, they may crack. Overall, we would tell others to go here. Check in, mix up a jug of pina coladas in the blender, head up to the infinity pool, and relax! When the drinks are gone, grab your towels and wander down to the beach for a dip in the waves on a beautiful aquamarine beach. Then throw on some clothes and wander down 5th Avenue.
BACHELOR PARTY
Great hotel, holds lots of people, all in great comfort, excelent value and great settings. Really close to the beach and beach clubs. Just one setback, give me some water! Hahaha. Water pressure is really low and the water temperature goes from chilling cold to scorching hot with just a touch of the handle, otherwise it's a 5 star. Definitely would visit again.
Quiet Escape
Great property just slightly off the beaten path. Penthouse units are the way to go with their private pools on the rooftop. Only issue was the strong sulfur smell outside of the property that would often waft through the entire place.
Playa del Carmen proximity to the beach and 5th st
Nice - great location to everything. very friendly staff. Awesome space, and apartments.
Good bargain for families
4 night stay over New Years. We had one of the penthouse suites with a king room and another bedroom with two doubles. The stairs led up to the pool area. Hotel/condo was clean, staff were friendly, located on the "quiet" end of 5th Avenue, and the suite itself was huge. There were zero extra amenities. No pool bar or service, even though this is one of the busiest weeks in Mexico and the facilities are in place for bar service. WiFi was horrible, so if you need it for business look elsewhere.
Great Location and Overall Nice Place to Stay
Cleanliness of room - Unlike most condo/hotels, they have daily maid service which is nice. Hotel Staff very helpful and friendly. The people at the front desk all speak fluent English and went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasent. Hotel amenities were fine, however, no fitness facility, dishwasher or clothes washer/dryer. Hotel is walking distance to restaurants, shopping, beach. Beach near hotel not the cleanest, but you can walk to nicer beach areas.
great hotel but one problem
really enjoyed our stay. the location is great (close to the beach and a few steps away from the less noisy part of la quinta). My only complain is that our room smelled a lot like mold. Not sure if this is a problem in all rooms. Most of our clothes came back smelling like mold. Other than that is was a good pick.
Nice location, bad experience
We stayed with our baby and my wife's mother in the Pueblito Luxury condo hotel and choosed this because of location and nice facilities such as the private pool. The first day we arrived we couldn't sleep because of the huge noise the airconditioning of the neighbours downstairs was producing and we called the front desk about it and they promised to take a look at it the next morning. They couldn't do anything unfortunately because the owner could not be reached and they moved us to the other side of the hotel where there was no noise of the airconditioning but there were construction workers busy at the ground floor working on a restaurant however according to the hotel staff they only worked untill 6pm. Actually they worked till late and there was a strong paint smell that was bothering us so let alone the baby. If they were not working then other people were working inside other appartments or on the roof top on maintenace and refurbishments even on sundays. The place is not cheap but i wanted the best for the family and in the end it was a big dissapointment.
Fantastic Stay! Coming back next year!
Views and property were fantastic. Pictures don't do it justice. Will be returning next year!
need to get the hotel maintenance in order.
no hot water most days. no water half the time, elevator didn't work half the time.asked about a dive shop and was sent 10 blocks away when there are 2 within a few blocks. they should know where to direct people they live there. the rooms are clean and nice though. beds are hard as a rock. should have scheduled there maintenance better.
the place was an open air mess
nightmarish at 9 am till 7 pm pounding noises of workers
Great location and price
Hotel was in renovation but still it was such a great place and staff was wonderful
Great condo/hotel on beach. Would stay again.
The hotel website is extremely true to form and not misleading. Everything was clean and well maintained. The beach is seconds from the front of the hotel. The entrance to the beach offered a nice choice for popularity: more crowded (the popular Mamita's beach club) to the left and less crowded areas to the right. The street the hotel is on is really charming and picturesque, as well as clean and safe. The corner of calle 38 and 5th avenue has a number of nice and modern restaurants which continues as you walk south along 5th avenue. Albeit we were there in the off season, the pool areas were like a ghost town. Hardly anyone was ever there and the pool bars seemed as if they never open ever (no bar equipment). The pools were lovely though.
Family Vacation Time
This is an excellent location and excellent hotel for a vacation with just two people or more. We stayed in the penthouse with a pool and it was amazing. The staff was so helpful and was willing to help with anything you needed including local calls or getting information for your upcoming flights home. All you had to do was ask and it was there. The room was beautiful and so comfortable! We slept like babies. Would recommend this to anyone with or without kids. Could not ask for more for the price!!!
Great hotel if your looking something quiet
1 block from the beach, and just 200m to Mamitas Beach. The pool in the rooftop is amazing. Its very well located, you can also walk just 2 block to where 5th street starts. Very quiet and relaxing.

Not maintained. Things falling apart. Expensive for what you get.
