The rooms were quite dark (we did ask to switch rooms and got one that was slightly less dark but similar). The bar was nice but pool area very small with limited seating. The loud noise on the Friday night from a nearby event went on till c6am and so we got very little sleep. From other reviews this looks like a regular issue.

Price is expensive and I don’t like the view. I asked for a view and the hotel didn’t pay attention this. I don’t like when the receptionist didn’t say nothing about my appointment before I made the check in.

Room was clean and quiet. Front desk staff was very helpful and it was nice that rthey could speak English. Several different options for dining.

Provided breakfast was very good with wode variety. Wonderful outdoor dining area. Additional restaurants in easy walking distance. Taxi stand right outside hotel.

You get what you pay for. Very average room and facilities. I was flying the next day so booked because of the location, but would think twice before booking again.

Loved the staff, and loved the promptness of requested services or food. Only bad thing was sheets (stains and smell) and facilities. Seems old and could have better lighting. Otherwise everyone there is amazing!

The location was good though not near a beach you could swim at. The property is older and a bit dated. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The hotel is located next to a small airport. It is easy to find Uber and taxi. There are restaurants and shops nearby. The shower water flows everywhere in the bathroom when taking a shower. The view outside the rooftop cafeteria is nice.

Breakfast buffet was great. Room was comfortable and the location was very convenient as I arrived after 2 am and needed a layover location. Recommend this place. No complaints. One note, the shower temperature may work backwards, I thought there was no hot water until I put it to the cold side instead 😆

Chose this hotel for the area and view over the harbour and sugar loaf mountain. Hotel itself is next to the domestic airport so ideal for travellers which made it quite a busy hotel. It has plenty of amenities onsite and close by. There is a rooftop pool and restaurant (with views to die for), a gym and nearby shops and alternate eateries. The rooms are modern and comfortable with a fully stocked fridge and plenty of space for luggage. The staff are friendly and helpful despite being busy. The breakfast was amazing with a huge choice to suit all. Some parakeets came to visit in the morning too which were lovely to see as well as a few other birds but didn’t cause any problems. Would highly recommend both for convenience to the airport and area

I did not get to stay at this property due to a water leak that caused a power outage. The staff could barely contain the chaos. The offered to let me stay in an unlit, unpowered room or else take my business elsewhere; I elected for the latter. They promised me a refund would be issued by the property manager, but they denied my request for a refund. The whole operation is the least professional hotel I have dealt with in Brazil. Spend your money somewhere better. The area is convenient if you are flying from SDU, but there are many other decent hotels nearby.

This hotel is on Santos Dumont Airport, so very convenient if someone is flying in or out of this airport. Breakfast is good on roof top with a nice view.

Great location if you are traveling via SDU. Restaurant at Prodigy was accommodating to my vegan requests.

Horrible service. We booked for 2 nights, after our first night, they said we wouldn’t have warm water for few hours… however we ended up MORE THAN 24 HOURS without warm water to take a shower. It was raining and windy all day. We call the front desk and no response, we needed to walk (dirty) to the front desk to ask for updates… we cancelled an appointment that we couldn’t go without basic cleaning… it was a nightmare. Then on the next day I checked at 3am (we couldn’t sleep because we were feeling so dirty), still no water… then at 6am I was finally able to get clean. At the checkout the staff called the manager (Andre) that promise to refund one night… then on the next day we receive an email that they want to give us one night in the future. Why would I want to go back there for 1 night if I not even live in RJ. I want my one night back. Expedia team called the hotel and no one answered… then they say they cannot process a refund for this HORRIBLE experience. Email them back no response. We travel a lot and this was the worst experience. I don’t know why is in the VIP status at the Expedia…

Amazing view from rooftop restaurant. Brilliant breakfast. Well located in the middle or SDU airport and airport shops. In the beginning there was building noise during the day.

The staff was excellent and friendly, and they had great breakfast. The view from the pool on the rooftop patio is unbeatable. However, the elevators, wifi and TV didn't work and made it difficult to access flight information and check in/out.

Great location and very convenient. Front desk staff was nice. However, I had two problems (1) elevator was not working properly to go the rooftop and back to the second floor, and (2) I had no shampoo when I needed it. I only found out I was out of shampoo when I was taking a shower at 4am. I could not request it since I was only staying one night and was leaving very early. I was a bit upset that I had to pay a lot for that hotel for not having the basic. Details!

I recently stayed at this hotel during a long layover and, unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. Given the limited time we had to rest, a comfortable and cool room was crucial, but we encountered issues with the air conditioning system that made our stay far from enjoyable. Check-in Process (★★★★☆): The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was friendly and efficient. We appreciated their prompt service as we were eager to make the most of our limited time at the hotel. Room Temperature (★☆☆☆☆): Our dissatisfaction began when we entered our room and noticed that it was unbearably hot. Hoping it would cool down, we turned on the AC and set it to 17 degrees Celsius. However, the room temperature remained at a scorching 27 degrees throughout the night. We tried various adjustments to the AC, but nothing seemed to make a difference. Sleep Quality (★☆☆☆☆): The inability to control the room temperature significantly impacted our sleep quality. We were unable to sleep comfortably, which was the primary reason we booked a hotel during our layover. It was incredibly disappointing that we couldn't get the rest we desperately needed. We chose not to reach out to the front desk for assistance due to our limited time, as we didn't want to waste precious moments addressing an issue that should have been resolved beforehand.

The hotel is advertised as having a beautiful pool. Upon arrival, I was informed that the pool was closed for maintenance. I feel I was misled. If the pool was to be closed for maintenance during the period of my stay, this should have been noted on the Expedia website so that travellers can make an informed decision on whether they wish to book. at this hotel.

Prodigy Sant Dumont was an awesome property. The breakfast was amazing, the pool has stunning views and the staff were great. Cute little gym near the breakfast area. Room was small but had everything you need like a hair dryer, closet and shower that was new. We had a room with an ocean view and it was totally worth it! Highly recommend!

This was my second stay at this hotel in 2022. The place needs some maintenance work. There was water dripping from multiple places of the 3rd-floor hallway. My room had to be switched the second day because there was water on the floor and the electricity went out. A person traveling with me needed maintenance to fix his door lock to get into the room. The view from the top floor restaurant and pool is perhaps the biggest draw. The second most compelling reason to stay here is the ease of access. You can walk to this hotel from baggage claim in less than 10 minutes - all indoors.

Great choice for a connection the following day, if you are just passing by. You can pickup your luggage place it on a cart and walk your way to the hotel. No cabs no hassle.

Everyone at reception was very friendly and very helpful. Nice group of people! I felt very safe, as a solo traveler. The breakfast was nice; beautiful view. Restful night; couldn’t hear the planes or not from outside.

Usually you stay in a Airport hotel in order to have more time to sleep, a shorter way to the airport and a more convenient day, however, in this specific case they cut the AC from 11pm to 6am. The weather was extremely hot in Rio de Janeiro that day and specially at the hotel. They advised it would only be for 2-3 hours so we should leave it on at very low temperature from 7pm onwards and that we would not have any problems as it would be back on at 2am, but it did not start again until 6am, being so hot I woke up at 3 am, only to find people on the corridors trying to have a colder temperature as their rooms were also extremely hot. Nobody was able to assist us or to even apologize/offer some complimentary service to make this stay nicer. I am Expedia Gold and they did not even awknoledge my status or provided any of the level status amenities/benefits. I did not have time to complain the next day because I slept only 3 hours and when the AC was back on at 5:30 am I tried to sleep for as much as possible before going to the airport to catch my 8:50 am flight.... I do have an apartment in RJ and only stayed in the hotel to be able to have a longer night of sleep, obviously at 2/3 am it didn't make much sense to sleep at home to come back to the airport at 6am... a total disaster

A great location for people arriving or departing from the smaller Rio airport. It has one of the best views or Rio that you will find. The restaurants nearby are great. It is connected to the airport and a mall. There are many dining choices available, as well as convenience stores.

Even though it seems that the hotel is not busy at all because of Christmas holiday, I was not given a room upgrade. The room I have overlooks a kitchen storage area. Nothing VIP or Gold about it.

Fantastic location if you need to fly into or out of Santos Dumon airport. just a 5 minute walk away. The beds were firm and need to get pillow toppers!

My parents stayed for few days in Rio. The room at prodigy was very clean, the staff was great to deal because my parents are elderly they help them all the way. I am really glad my parents had a wonderful time.

Don’t have to leave the airport to get to the hotel so proximity is great. Staff was very nice. For an airport hotel you barely hear the planes but hear every little noise in the hallways. For anyone with an iPhone, you cannot access their wifi because of how their security is set up, which is really really bad as an international traveller.

At check in was given a room that was not ready clean. It was still like somebody just left.

Nothing special about the hotel. Staff needs to be better informed

Eu sempre me hospedo nesse hotel , a estadia foi muito agradável , só aconselho melhorar a qualidade dos pratos servidos na piscina e principalmente agilizar o atendimento ! As instalações da piscina como espreguiçadeiras também estão necessitando de mais atenção e cuidado ! Fora esses detalhes que me desagradaram um pouco dessa vez foi tudo perfeito !

Checkin rapido e facil. Quarto espaçoso, chuveiro muito bom . Cafe da manha servido no rooftop , com muita variedade , muitas mesas e uma vista linda para a Guanabara, Pão de Açúcar e Cristo. Os pousos dos aviões no santos Dumont é um espetáculo a parte!!! Recomendo!!!

Hotel de baixa qualidade

Hotel em condições precárias, café da manhã sem qualidade e com itens faltantes as 08:00 da manhã como café, pão e pão de queijo. Sem acústica no quarto , muito barulho, me parece q em cima tinha uma academia. Ar condicionado precário e sem limpeza do filtro Tomada ao lado da cama sem funcionar Não recomendo!
