Clean Friendly Affordable Budget Hotel
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel itself was a little basic but very good value for the money and most importantly clean. Immediate environment outside was a little tatty with some traffic noise but benifited from being within easy walking distance of the core of the city. All in all a very positive experience and would recommend the hotel for any person travelling on a budget.
Great service , room very clean .very comfortable bed
very good staff, very helpful. A good community area. Very pleasant roof garden. Clean room.
The staff where very good, very helpful. clean room, a lovely roof top garden to relax in. A very pleasant communial area for guests.Easy access to the places of interest.
- Lovely little garden to relax. - Friendly and helpful staff.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location 2 mins away from Interdente metro station. Free coffee and tea. Nice roof garden to cool off in the evening
I will recommend this place to others visoting Lisboa. Edison was very professional and courteus and the lady as well. Both great :) Room was super clean, quiet, bathroom in great conditions, comfy bed, everything worked everywhere in the room. Location awesome near 3 vegetarian cafes recommended to me by locals. Street safe. Easy walking to centre. O'brigado!!!
Wonderful all round
Very small bare room, only one hand/facial towel for 2 people, one change of towels and linens for 9 days, No connection with reception, extremely steep staircase, no elevator. Truly disappointing, except for the beautiful garden.
The check-in process was easy. Clean and quiet. Great location.
Hotel Pouso Dos Anjos
Everything was excellent. Check in was good and made to feel welcome.
Hotel is like our 230 year old house-- a combination of many new renovations with some things left to complete. It feels very good, the rooftop garden is wonderful, reception folks are all very helpful, and excellent location. Next improvement should be fans in the bathroom to dry it out more quickly to reduce moisture issues like mildew. (We have the same problem at home.) 3 really good seafood restaurants are within about 4 blocks walk. Very fair value.
Not a 3star hotel
3 star hotel, but not even a toilet in the room. Had to share with entire floor.
Hotel near centre of Lisbon
The hotel is 25 mins walk from the river making it 20-15 mins from the main shopping areas by foot, or 5 mins by Metro. The room was adequate and cleaned daily. There were some cracked tiles at one end of the bath/shower. The bath was one of the mini type found on the continent with a step to sit on but as we only take showers ther was no issue. Plenty of v hot water. Room well lit and looked onto a raised walled garden which was adequate. No views at all. Outside the street is a bit of a disaster, crumbling 3 story houses amongst buildings that are being upgraded. Quite a poor area some alcoholics and beggars but not threatening. 50m away, the main drag, shops, excellent restaurants. Likewise up the hill towards the more well to do areas. Staff were really lovely and all were helpful. There is no lift, so if you are suffering from the heat, the final 2 flights are a bit tiring. Would I return? Probably not but only because I would like a room with a view. In this price range you get what you expect, no frills but then, I’ve stayed in accommodation in Tanzania that resembles an up turned basket, with malarial mosquitoes buzzing around my bed so I may not be the best benchmark for what is good.
Garden is great
Good, simple hotel.
Spotless and comfortable
Room was simple but had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean. Was lucky to have a balcony. Staff were very helpful.
GOOD LOCATION & SERVICE
EXCELLENT LOCATION NEAR TRAIN STATION. GOOD SERVICE FROM OWNER AND LADY AT FRONT DESK. VERY HELPFUL RE INFORMATION ETC. BREAKFAST COULD BE BETTER . WOULD BE GOOD TO PROVIDE MILK FOR THE CEREALS, COFFEE.
1 day in Lisbon
Quick stay. Hotel was convenient to the metro which made it ideal and the staff was great. They helped with directions and local buses to the sights. Great value for the cost
Nice simple hotel.
Very friendly helpful staff. Basic but clean and comfortable.
Centrally located, everywhere within easy walking distance, metro nearby. There are plenty of nice cafes around the corner, which are taster and cheaper than what Pouso dos Anjos offers. Pleasant and courteous staff. No soundproofing of rooms, so everything can be heard!
Within walking distance to all major tourist sites. Local shopping and restaurants very close and excellent. Hotel has a touch of the past in its decor. The only downside is no elevator which can be a issue if you have heavy luggage. Good staff ready to assist if required.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Accommodation is quiet at night and centrally located.
This hotel provides a very good standard with a staff that always make you welcome and will provide information and help if you need it.
Good location, big room
Good location, big room. Wierd to have the shower actually right in the room. Also wierd to have a bidet but no toilet? Otherwise it was good. My room was on the third floor and got a bit hot. Decor was dated but generally clean. No toiletries provided and you had to pay extra for housekeeping service. Staff were friendly. You could walk to town or get a tram or metro, both within 100m of hotel.
great in summer, not so much in winter
Decent, fun hotel in great location. Easily accessible by public transit to airport, stations etc. Friendly staff. But cold and damp in winter!! Our 2nd visit. Room could have been cleaner.
Loved the garden
I really loved the garden area, the rooms were lovely, and the staff really friendly and helpful!!
Adequate place to lay your head after a 4 day bender
Basic accommodation in wonderful old building
Decent accommodation at fair price in great location. If you can get over paying for your towels and climbing 3 flights of stairs for a room with a view of a cool quiet inner courtyard garden, you'll love it!!
Stylish, friendly, comfortable surprise.
I cannot rate Pousos Dos Anjos highly enough. The hotel is ideally located close to the subway and is easily accessible from the airport. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. The hotel was clean, airy and well maintained. Definitely a jewel in Lisbon's crown.
just for one night!!!!
4 beds... the shower was in the room / no privacy at all. They charged us for towels 2 euro each.. it sucks!
This hotel does not deserve 3 stars. They charged us extra for towels and wi-fi in our rooms.
When we arrived there was nowhere to park our car. Then they tried to charge us extra for towels and using wi-fi in our rooms. The first room they offered us had not been cleaned. Not a good experience all in all.
Cheap and cheerful Lisbon base
Basic furnishings with some quirky touches. Rooms were clean and at the rear was a lovely tranquil garden on a raised terrace
not great value
The personal are lovely and helpful. Decent location bedside the metro. However paying for towels, wifi and €5 for breakfast (1 breadroll, gls concentrate juice, tea/coffee) is not good value!!!!
word up
Sick hotel, it was cheap, clean, the staff was very nice and it has a sick garden on the 2nd floor for chilling. Would recommend to anybody.
Very nice experience.
Near city centre very close to city.nice location.
central to centre
The actual place is in a back street and does not look very pleasant.Awful views of graffiti.
look no further.
Excellent value for money just round the corner from a Metro station.
Horrible hotel
This hotel is horrible which you won't want to stay even £5. Rude staffs, bad location and room is a joke. I have booked a double bed with private bathtub, view and wifi First a young female staff gave me a dormitory room with 6beds on top floor, small triangle shaped window and no bathroom. I complained then she was upset with terrible English and said to me to use the room alone. I explained my booking then she gave me a twin beds room with tiny shower next. I have to explain my booking politely to that young girl again. Thirdly she gave me a twin beds with private bathtub. I don't understand why it was so difficult to get room I have paid for and she even got very angry. On my booking, it says "free wife available". And wifi is available only at lobby, which is on ground floor and even signal is very weak and slow. Also all room is very old and TV is small and 20years ago one, it is fixed on high ceiling, no remote controller. If you're 6feet tall you can reach it without standing on chair. They say the hotel is located in City Central on their website however it is not. No restaurant and supermarket around either. I don't want to stay here even if it's free of charge. Highly recommend not to stay here.
Good Hotel * Bad Neighborhood
The room was just what we were looking for.......value, value, value. Although the neighborhood was a bit dodgy, it was a quiet, peaceful night. Only one block from the green metro. Good grocery stores nearby. Toilet and shower was down the hall, but there were three of them for the floor. In October, only a few rooms on the second floor were let so there was no problem getting the toilet or shower. Wi-Fi in the reception area worked well.
Nice guesthouse
Nice guesthouse with a nice relaxed/relaxing atmosphere - and greate staff.
Hostel
This is a hostel, but not 3 star hotel. Very poor amenities. Good location (close to metro), but not safe at night time
OUTSTANDING STAFF
POUSO DOS ANJOS HOTEL has a very friendly staff and after an initial problem with the shower upon arrival I was given another room. I don't need all the bells and whistles while traveling so the lack of anything modern was alright with me. There is a garden area just off the second floor of rooms that was a peaceful getaway from the noise and chaos of the streets. I would sit there and relax after a day of being a tourist. The hotel is less than five minutes walk from the metro station. The staff always called me by my first name and I was treated as if I was friend.
much better than i expected
i booked this hotel because of the very reasonable price, three nights costing less than one night in london or paris, but then i read all the negative reviews so i was a bit wary, but the hotel was much better than i expected, the staff were very helpful with maps and guides, even a gay guide for gay guests though it is a mixed hotel, i had booked a room with a shared bathroom but was given the choice of a private bathroom since the hotel was not full, i saw both rooms, both large and clean. there were no bedbugs at this hotel! location is about 15 minutes walk from the centre, but the metro is just outside, which also goes quickly to the airport.i liked the walk down though, the surrounding area felt quite safe to me, the main road down to the centre is a little faded, but it has lots of cheap and very good cafes with excellent cakes. the hotel is breakfast is simple but adequate, two rolls with cheese/ jam. fresh fruit, coffee and tea. i think that the earlier reviews were a little unfair because it was perfectly pleasant and really astonishingly cheap. i would recommend it and i would stay there again
Excellent location and good hotel for student
This was a good hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. Location is very conveneint very close to the metro station.
near the underground
I chose this hotel because i wanted to see the real Portugal and this opened my eyes, The hotel was up a back street with the surounding buildings either covered in graffity or deralict. The streets were covered in filth beggars everywhere not a good place to go .The towels in the hotel were only changed for a 2 euro charge the grout on the tiles in the bathroom was black around the corners.if you want to go to Lisbon dont stay here its basic and not good.
Bad experince
We had our worst experience with this hotel They put us in a room which should have never offered to any costumes. The door of the room we could not close (did not fit in the frame),IIt was a 10cm ajar .The furniture in terrible shape as well as the walls. After our complaint they offered us a different room, which full fill our expectation for the money we paid for. suggestions for other costumes. Ask to see your room before you drag all your belongings to the room, and do not be afraid to complain.
like to come again
very good for short holidays
worth the money
Nice hotel, relatively cheap but if you don't expect anything fancy you'll be satisfied. Wifi is only free on the lobby, although we got some weak reception on the 1st floor, so it was pretty convenient. breakfast is VERY modest, and if it's not included in your reservation it costs waaaaaay more than its worth (you can get an amazing breakfast with coffee at any of the nearby pasteleries for less than half the hotel fair). The room felt cosy, and we liked the Portuguese touch with azulejos and ceiling (had a double room with private bath). Great bathroom! the beds feel a little "simple", but we had no problems with that. Most people on the staff were nice and helpful.
Excellent location and very helpful staff. It is close to major sights and right by the metro station. Great value for your money.
Worth the money
Lovely stylish hotel right in the city centre. Beautiful backyard garden on 2nd floor where you can have breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly and comfortable
The staff were extremely friendly and helpfull (speak good english) and the room was very spacious and clean. We had a private bathroom which was also huge!! All the basics are there and the hotel is located close to the metro. Previous reviews complained about the breakfast which I thought was simple, but good, bread rolls with butter/jams/cheese/ham and fuits and cerial and coffee/tea/hot chocolate... Don't expect a international buffet. From the price its a total bargain. The roof garden is also very nice and I wish we got to spend more time out there. The area around the hotel is a bit dark and I would hang around there at night, but we felt safe enough walking from the metro to the hotel at night.
Disappointing in many ways.
The staff I met at this hotel were helpful. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is not well maintained. There is a distinct lack of management and owned by people who do not care about the upkeep of it. On arrival, the lighting was low and I couldn't see much until I put the bedside lamps on. Lighting is important and especially in a room that has a big wall outside that impedes light. I then went to the wardrobe to prepare my bed and found a very dodgy looking duvet which had old blood on it and not stained I might add! Through tiredness I decided to use the heavy blanket I found below it. This was dirty too with some kind of creamy substance that had dried on it. Not pleasing at all, so I went to reception. He looked shocked and said that they have problems with the cleaners because nobody tells anybody what to do. He provided me with a clean duvet that had been laundered, but it had blood stains. At least it was clean and luckily I am not too squeamish. One of the receptionists said that people working there do not go to the rooms to check them. The cleaners go but do not have any authority over them, Everyone is left to their own devices. There are problems with the internet and the area is not appropriate for lone women as it is very dark and there are lot of male vagabonds in the area. A girl was violated the week before on the other side of this street where there are drug dens. What a shame, it could be a lovely hotel. The staff were pleasant. Managment needed
Charming place
We just had a great stay at Pouso dos Anjos : nice little pension type hotel, very close to the most of the historical centre(s) of Lisbon and even closer thanks to the subway station that is litterally a few metres from the hotel. Great decoration and a romantic garden on the second floor full of orange trees and bougainvillae. Highly recommended.
Ottima posizione, personale gentile, consigliato
Personale gentile, centro citta' facilmente raggiungibile a piedi.
Excelente personal, muy amables, alegres y me ayudaron :) muchas gracias
Nice hotel but not for long stays
We really liked the hotel. Especially the "secret garden". It was cosy. I would recommend it to my more bohemian friends.
Alte extrem schmutzige Matratzen ......
- Unfreundliches Personal - Zimmer riechen muffig und feucht - Alte und extrem schmutzige Matratzen
Hotel accueillant
Freundliche Pension in zentraler Lage
Triste
O serviço do hotel e normal básico.
Sauberes Hptel in guter Lage
Lissabon ist immer wieder eine Reise wert. Sehr saubere Stadt und sehr gastfreundlich
Położenie dogodne do zwiedzana Lizbony.
Hotel położony blisko centrum Lizbony. Blisko stacja metra. Pokoje słabo wyposażone.
