We loved our time here. The hotel is in a perfect central location. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet was excellent! I would definitely recommend this place.

So glad we made the choice to stay here. We loved it. Loved the location right on the plaza, near the water, near the street scene. The hotel accommodations were efficient and clean, the staff was engaged, helpful, kind. Definitely get the breakfast here - it was fabulous. kuddos!

This is a charming hotel in a great location near the river. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet excellent. Public transport links are very good and there are some great restaurants nearby.

This is an amazing hotel. It is in a very nice location and the rooms were beautiful and well appointed. These are one of the most comfortable beds I’ve experienced and 3 pillows is a plus! The breakfast is also very good. The service was equally wonderful with excellent front desk staff and porters. I would highly recommend this hotel

We stayed here for a night and were excited initially. Well, when we arrived we were so disappointed. It was so dark in the reception and also in the hotel room. A homeless man slept outside our window. The front desk recommended a restaurant around the corner and it was awful. My fish tasted so fishy I sent it back and they did not bother to make right. Next when the bell hop brought us to our room our key did not work but he left us there with a key that did not work so we needed to switch out. Breakfast was good but again room dark and dreary. Sadly I would not recommend this hotel unless you are into dark and dreary.

As usual, properties always look better in photos. This property was just a little funkier than I was expecting. Even though I can't really complain about anything other than it was kinda old and the phones and internet often didn't work, it was fine. Location is good, close to the River. The staff for the morning breakfast was exceptional. For me I'd barely give it a 4 star review but it's nicer than 3 stars. I think the best part of it is the location.

Lovely stay

It was our first time staying at Pousada. The check-in process was very easy and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff gave us a nice turn down service every evening. We will definitely stay here again!

Incredible stay at this centrally located hotel

We loved our time at Pousada de Lisboa and didn’t want to leave. The ambience was classy and luxurious, the front desk was very responsive and helped with nightly reservations and storing luggage, the spa area was lovely. But our favorite part of our stay was the continental breakfasts. They were truly our favorite meals of the trip. Thank you for an amazing few days!

Great location, easy to walk everywhere. Lisbon has very steeps streets, the hotel is located in a flat area where is easy to walk back after a long and tiring day. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. I recommend it.

Past its best

I booked this hotel at the end of a longer trip, moving from another (far superior) Pestana group hotel, just around the corner from this one. We were supposedly ‘upgraded’ to a ‘duplex suite’. This was basically an attic room, with a tiny window. The bathroom was on the ground floor and then a winding stairs led up to the bedroom. The entire floor looks tired and worn. In our room, our bathroom floor was filthy. Honestly, I should have complained there and then but I decided to stay put, against my better judgement. However, rhe room was impossible to sleep in as the air conditioning either did not work at all or required some masters level degree to operate. I found out at near midnight so it was too late to do anything about it. It totally ruined our last day in Lisbon. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else. This is NOT a 5 star hotel.

Couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay in Lisbon. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, and perfectly located next to the main square. The breakfast buffet had an excellent choice of food and drink, and the service was excellent. If we come back to Lisbon, we will definitely stay here again!

The hotel attendant was terrific. The staircase going to the second floor was terrifying. Not much light and dark purple rung on the steps.

I cannot say enough positive things about this property. Before I even got in the door - Claudio came out to greet me and grab my luggage. It was an absolutely positive experience and set the tone for an amazing trip. There are very few countries I say I would go back to visit but Portugal is one of them and I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel was extremely comfortable and the food was delicious. It was very easy to check in and they went out of their way to arrange a private tour service for us for the day. The location is perfect for exploring the city on foot and easy access to taxis and tuktuks for touring. Plus everyone speaks good English! Total plus!

we've had many travels. we got to the hotel early at 12.15 check in was at 3.00 we got our room at 2.58 other guests were arriving and getting their room. Can only assume they wanted to give us a specific room which ended up being a long walk from the elevators tucked away on the 4th floor. first time ever that's happened in our travels must say the staff were very friendly and the location ideal.Very clean and good service would recommend it based on those facts but still wonder why they made us wait till 3.00 to get our room

Great hotel in old Lisbon

Lovely hotel right on the main square of Lisbon. Easy walk to many things in old town. Staff is incredibly helpful with excellent English skills. They arranged a transfer to Porto with 12 hours notice and worked hard to allow us to extend our stay by a day. Lovely breakfast included, steak restaurant next door also very good and part of the hotel. Rooms are big, good AC and quiet. Very comfortable sleep each night. I’ll be staying here next time I’m in Lisbon.

love the location which is close to city center, yet very quiet. The show floor has 2 levels which is little unsafe and needs to be improved.

Family Visit

Location in Lisbon is ideal - can walk to a lot of good places including restaurants and shops. On the Targus River. Service was excellent. Breakfast was as good as many including a Bellini Bar. Didn't eat in the restaurant but had drinks in the bar - beautiful build out. Value was good. Would definitely stay here again.

It was amazing! We were greeted and advised by Diogo who advised and kept tabs on us while trip. Bed & room was very comfortable & clean. Staff was so friendly & attentive. Great location. Unbelievable breakfast spread. We loved it!❤️

What a fabulous hotel in a great location. The staff are amazing and proud of this lovely hotel and are all a delight. The food is great too. The RIB beef burger is the best I've ever had anywhere!

Amazing stay !

Amazing stay ! I spent three nights at the hotel with my elderly mother who is 87. The team were very respectful to her at all times, making sure she was comfortable at the breakfast service and dining in the restaurant. They ensured she had walk-in access to the shower and the layout of the bathroom was great for her. The food was very good and the cleanliness 10/10. I would definitely recommend staying.

The hotel is perfectly located - in the heart of all the action. The front desk staff were incredible- always there for assistance; always polite - just remarkable service. The breakfast was good to get the day started - I would recommend if you are staying there. When I return to Lisbon, I will stay here again.

Absolute gem of a hotel. We loved the beauty of the building, the view of the stately square from our window (yet absolute quiet when the window is closed), and lovely staff. The breakfast buffet was excellent and fortified us for the day. We will certainly stay here again if we return to Lisboa.

Not a good choice if you value sleep

For $350 a night I really expect a good night's sleep. In fact, upon check in, I requested a very quiet room and was told the rooms are soundproofed. NOT TRUE. I was woken nightly by the night sounds of the square. I do not recommend this hotel if sleep is precious to you as it is to me. The rooms were nice but nothing special. No room amenities that you would expect in this class of a hotel. At least a hairdryer with a button you have to hold to dry your hair (really???). Not to sound like a grumbling American, but I have travelled to over 40 counties and stayed in countless hotels and this hotel, for sure, was not my favorite. On the upside, I found the gentlemen in the white shirts in the lobby to offer excellent customer service. More so than the other lobby staff. In fact, I found them to be the best part of the hotel. Thanks for getting that Negroni.

This hotel was in a perfect location to see all of Lisbon. Beautifully decorated and great view of the Equestrian Statue of King Joseph I and square.

We have stayed at the Pousada de Lisbon three times now. If we do another trip we will stay here again for sure. The staff is top notch always there to help with informative information, suggesting restaurants, and tourist information.

Great location - lovely historic property

Beautiful hotel in perfect location - easy access for transport and walking. The staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. The room was excellent in every way - clean and comfortably with good facilities - although I would have liked the option of a kettle to be able to use my own tea as I do not always want coffee. Breakfast was amazing - great selection. The hotel has a RIB restaurant attached serving delicious steaks and further choices. Again, the staff were really great and dining alone was not an issue in any way. On my last evening at the hotel I asked the reception staff to recommend a restaurant and their choice was perfect - matching my requests exactly - they really did listen. Given the opportunity I would return to this hotel any time.

Well located in the tourist area of the City. Rooms vary widely. Was there twice, first room was updated and bright. Second room for more money was small and dark.

Loved the homely feeling of the hotel and friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Would definitely recommend it.

They had to accommodate my travel changes and did so without any problems. The staff was helpful and gave us great information regarding the area we were in.

I thought the unwillingness to check guests in until the precise check-in time to be unnecessary. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly. I didn’t love the room. I found the layout a little odd, outlets not particularly well placed, the mattress and pillows a little cheap, and too little natural light. To me, this is a 3 1/2 star hotel, maybe 4. And the pool/gym really non-existent. On the plus side, the staff, the location, the shower and the water pressure were all excellent, and the breakfast buffet was terrific. WiFi very good too.

Excellent small boutique hotel and the staff will go over and beyond to please it’s customers. Amazing and extremely convenient location, very close to everything. Wonderful breakfast area with a great service and great food selection. The general manager is very involved and very appreciative for staying at Pousada de Lisboa! The only mishap that we had it was the day that we arrived, while the hotel was full - while June is a busy month for Lisbon- and we weren’t able to check in earlier than the 3pm check-in time. You couldn’t go wrong with this beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Beautiful Lisbon!!!!!
