Absolutely stunning property in a beautiful medieval town. Our host couldn’t be more accommodating. He took so much time showing us the rooms , area and the views . This town is off the tourist route but so worth a visit ! Come stay here !

Excellent. Very pleasant place.

A beautiful historic building set in a charming midieval village. This was the nicest place we stayed in our whole time in Spain. The staff were welcoming and professional, the room was comfortable and spacious and every view was spectacular.

Es un lugar de sueños la casa, cada rincón de ella, sus vistas desde lo alto y la hermosa decoración, pero lo que la hace más encantadora es la atención esmerada que reciben los que allí llegan. Mi esposo y yo quedamos más que agradecidos con Laura, Aracelys y Guillermo. Gracias infinitas. Nuestra estancia fue corta, pero memorable.

Beautiful little inn. Comfortable rooms. Great breakfast on the terrace; extra charge, but worth it. The host, Rafa, is friendly, outgoing and helpful. Highly recommend!

Lovely typical Spanish property, excellent staff & service, my Wife is a coeliac gluten intolerant and they catered for all her needs.

Amazing!

Just AMAZING! Right in the village, the hotel is magnificent and the host very helpful and friendly. Parking is on the other side of the hotel and the réceptionniste made sure we knew where to go and even propose to come with us. The beds are amazingly comfortable and the rooms top clean. We had to leave early in the morning and they made sure to prepare coffee before we left. We highly recommend!

MX5 Tour

A fabulous overnight stop before the ferry. Beautifully restored historic building, with its own off street guest parking area behind the property. Very close to the village centre. Extremely friendly, multilingual host, Rafa, made us feel very welcome.Our top floor room had a lovely brand new bathroom, and a balcony with fantastic views over Santillana.Would highly recommend a stop here.

Rafael make you fill like in your own house. He knows every historical detail about the town and the region in general, and provides you very good tips and recommendations about places to visit. I will highly recommend visiting his house and enjoy this medioevo town. Great experience!!!

Everything, an enchanted place to,stay !

This is without a doubt the best place to stay in Santillana Del Mar. The building is old but well kept and beautiful. The bathroom is updated and clean. Rafael is the most welcoming, helpful, informative host I have ever met in many years of travel. The breakfast in the lovely, fireplace warmed dining room has many delicious local choices. The atmosphere and host make this four star amenities posada into a five star place to stay.

Old property in the centre of the old town, but with modern conveniences. Everyone very helpful and considerate.

Beautiful Hotel and spotlessly clean

We enjoyed two nights here. The traditional building is beautiful and the level of cleanliness and the presentation of the property where first class. Staff were all friendly. This was our second stay at Posada La Casa del Organista and we look forward to returning in the future.

Fabulous property set in a lovely area with beautiful views. All the team who ran it were very friendly and helpful. Good choices for breakfasts. Would stay again if visiting the area.

La casa del Organista

A large, beautifully restored, homely old farmhouse in a fabulous location with well equipped and comfortable rooms. Our welcome was superb and breakfast copious and tasty. Our host was friendly and took time to help us and tell us about the history of the house and the tasteful renovation of the building. It was an absolute pleasure staying there.

The building is fabulous. The room was the best one we stayed in out of the 8 previous places. Our host was very gracious, informative, helpfull and humorous. Breakfast was great. The town is very popular because it is full of history and seemingly well preservered.

Outstanding!

This hotel is quite well located in historic Santillana and close to many restaurants. It was the former home of the organist and is beautifully restored. The care, attention and hospitality provided by Raffa was outstanding and made this one of my favorite stays on the camino. It was well worth staying an extra night to take a leisurely visit to the Caves.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was quiet. The breakfast was very good with many choices. The town was fun to explore.

Un posado encantador

The posada was lovely. Rafa was a gracious and congenial host. He was always willing to speak in English, or to exercise great patience with my Castilian. The posada is well situated for day trips to the coast, to Santander, and, especially, the caves of Altamira. The town itself is also quite lovely and while small still has places of note, namely the Museo de la Tortura, and the 11th century church and cloisters. We highly recommend and plan on returning.

The hotel had been beautifully and tastefully presented. It has character and charm. If we are near Santander again we will definitely stay here.The best thing about our stay was our host who was not only efficient and helpful but genuinely interested in his guests and conversed with everybody in excellent English.

A small and really cozy place with rooms recently remodeled on a property that is more than 300 years old. Great atmosphere with nice views of the countryside. Breakfast was great and you could take it outside on the terrace. The property manager was extremely polite and helpful always offering ways to please us. We really recommend it.

The manager was fantastic, warm, humorous, knowledgeable. The staff were polite and efficient. The hotel is everything you would want in an historical setting .

Amazing experience in a wonderful place

First, this is a 300 year old place with a very interesting history and a very special vibe. The location is amazing, with free parking right behind. The breakfast (and the views where you have it) was great. The staff is super friendly, and they make you feel like a friend at home. Everything was very clean, full of details and beautiful. The experience will exceed your expectations! Guarantee.

Great personal service and nice accommodations

Just in the middle of town, Casa del Organista provides nice accommodations amenities. Personal service is its most important asset since all questions and requirements will be solved with experience and a smile. We stayed a couple of nights as a base in Santillana del Mar for visiting towns and cities around. However, you may have to take into consideration that the rooms do not have air conditioning that could be an issue during hot summer nights.

Nos hemos alojado varios años en Santillana y la Casa del Organista es la opción que más nos ha gustado hasta ahora. Está a 50 metros de la plaza mayor. La habitación era muy cómoda y espaciosa, tienen parking privado gratuito, el desayuno buffet es magnífico y muy cuidadoso con medidas anti-covid (tú no tocas nada, sólo señalas qué quieres y los responsables te sirven; puedes pedir huevos y tostadas recién hechos a cocina, incluye los productos locales típicos como sobao y quesada todos los días, ...), no te presionan angustiosamente con la hora del check-out como ocurre ya en casi todos los hoteles, ... Si preguntas, te dan consejos sinceros tanto de restaurantes y bares de Santillana como del entorno y de playas y pueblos a visitar en los alrededores. Por último, bajo petición, nos instalaron una cuna de bebé, se ofrecieron a hacernos la papilla del bebé en los desayunos, nos dejaron una sombrilla para la playa, ... en definitiva, la atención al huésped es equivalente a un hotel de 5 estrellas. Repetiremos.

The charming hotel is situated on the upper outskirts of the village. Having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the church whilst watching the horses in the fields in between was a highlight. A special praise goes to Rafa who was cheerful and helpful throughout our stay.

Beautifully restored house in a beautifully restored town. Access is a one lane road through a pasture down a hill.

My husband and I loved staying at this beautiful property this past summer, with great personal service and attention from all of the staff. Loved the rooms, the historic feel to it as well as the story behind the building...the views from the veranda-patio were really incredible, while I enjoyed one of their expressos in the afternoon. I also recommend getting their breakfast buffet, delicious and plenty of it, before walking down to see the sights in Santillana del Mar Esther

Great staff! Rafa was terrific with his recommendations as was Gema. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Property is old property that has been lovingly restored. This is classified as a rural property but it deserves more than 2 stars — they provided white tablecloth service, pressed linens and sheets, nice amenities, great staff!!

Excellent location in the center of a very special historical town. View out the window of fields and 12th century church was breathtaking. Rafa and Elena were great hosts--very friendly and gave the small boutique hotel a personal touch. Especially appreciated lending us wine glasses and cork screw so we could enjoy wine and cheese we bought from the local store in our room. Great location. Close to everything, but in a quiet area. The hotel is very unique and very cool. Our host, Rafa was great and spoke good English. Breakfast was delicious!

We loved the location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were very enjoyable and our room was very pleasant. The shower was a bit strange and it was only too easy (for me at least) to splash water everywhere with it. We eventually settled for baths. The local roosters crowing and church clock chiming are wonderful to listen too but can wake you up a little early!

Memorable stay in Cantabria

Wonderful hospitality in a beautiful hotel in this striking medieval town. The hosts could not be more helpful and the accommodation is outstanding value for money. Exceptional breakfasts.

Perfect Choice for Santillana

The staff were very welcoming and the beautiful old Posada is very well situated in the old town, with a lovely terrace at the back looking out to open fields. The breakfast was excellent with freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee. The internet reception was better in the sitting area outside our room. We were able to go out and explore/ have supper easily.

Wonderful hotel, friendly & full of character

A wonderful hotel, very friendly staff on our first night of trip in the area. We arrived tired and they made us very welcome - even though our Spanish was lousy! Breakfast was super and all very fresh. Would definitely come again, and stay longer!

We loved our 3-night stay at La Casa del Organista. Rafa is a wonderful host and Lydia (on reception) could not be more helpful (both speak good English). The highlight of our stay was the delicious breakfasts served on the sunny outdoor terrace. The house is ideally located to enjoy all that Santillana del Mar has to offer.

A gem in the lovely town of Santillana del Mar

We really enjoyed our 3-night stay at La Casa del Organista. The owner is charming and made us feel very welcome, the house is beautiful and also has the great advantage of a car park (at the back, down a few flight of stairs, although it is possible - and advisable - to drive and park outside the main entrance to load/unload the luggage). The posadas has 13 rooms: our was perhaps a tad on the small side but then we had asked for a room with a balcony (other rooms were larger). Nevertheless it was very comfortable and we loved looking over the town from the balcony. Breakfasts were excellent! A couple of morning we had ours on the terrace from which you can enjoy a delightful view of the Collegiate across a green meadow. We would definitely stay there again!

Realmente nos han hecho sentir como en casa. Fuimos muy bien acogidos. Cualquier duda fue más allá de ser resuelta pues lo hicieron con aprecio y cariño, que se echa de menos en otros establecimientos con más nombre. Sin duda, La Casa del Organista fue un gran acierto. Sin duda, volveremos. Gracias por todo... y por esos estupendos desayunos.

Rafa è un oste davvero speciale, parla benissimo italiano, è simpatico e ci ha saputo consigliare seguendo ogni nostra necessità. Costi onesti e posto con vista che apre il cuore. Lo consiglio a tutti, è stato veramente un sogno alloggiare qui.
