Beautiful oasis of tranquility right in the heart of downtown. Rooms are big with quiet patios. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the surrounding blocks. The hotel has an exit directly to the docks where you can catch a boat to tour ghe rest of the lake.
Hotel Hermoso y Limpio!!
Second time at La Posada de Don Rodrigo and I would come back again. The place is beautiful with an amazing view to the lake. The staff is extremely nice and always ready and willing to help. They have a lake view restaurant with excellent traditional Guatemalan food. The pool was clean, the patio was also clean and nice to rest on the hammocks. The staff helped us get a boat to cross to the towns across the lake and we had a great time. This hotel is in a very convenient street which you can come out at night and buy stuff, food, see the lake and take amazing pictures. Parking on site, WIFI, museum on the premises and restaurant. Excellent place I would recommend for a family trip.
The room had an air conditioner but did not work very well. The room was getting stuffy by night. Would have nice to have some cooling.
Excellent staff, location, food, amenities. I will stay here again if I ever return to Lake Atitlan.
Excellent service
Location was great, staff was friendly..
The property itself is very nice and has a tremendous view of Lake Atitlan. Location is great. Everything else is very average. Small dark rooms with no hot water in the late afternoon. But in Pana it's considered a luxury choice.
Nice little boutique style hotel right on the water. Bit pricey compared to Porta Hotel del Lago down the road which is way better overall.
Enjoyable stay
The hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We had issues with the internet connection in our room the first two days, but they got it rectified. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay there again if we go to Panajachel.
This place is full ok old world charm with immaculately kept gardens and grounds and spectacular panoramic view of the lake and volcanoes. It is very conveniently located. The staff are all charming and very well trained. A unique place
Great one night stay at the Posada during the fiesta of St. Francis of Assisi.
Very safe, very comfortable, very quiet and has easy parking in a very busy area.
It is a nice property by the lake. The restaurant food was not very good and it was pricy compares to other places.
Beautiful view of the lake from its restaurant and terrace. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good restaurant in the hotel. Beautifully maintained gardens. Great location with easy access to marina and boat tours to other towns around the lake.
Paradise
Just an amazing experience everyone was super helpful and kind definitely coming back soon
It was a lake front property very clean and friendly. They also had a contact as a guide for the lake that was over 5 stars his name was Hugo. The restauranr manager victor was very professional. Food was the only thing that needed some improvement but overall was an awsome stay. The gardens and the hammocks were relaxing. We will be back.
A place to relax
It was a lovely room with a lake view and AC. We sure had a great time at the pool and the gardens are beautiful!
Hotel is very outdated. Not very clean, either. Had to ask staff to clean our bathroom/sink because there was dried mud all over. Very few towels. Old and uncomfortable beds. Had dinner at the restaurant that was very overpriced and average at best. Overall, we probably won’t stay not recommended this hotel.
The hotel is situated right by the lake. My lake view room was nice. Restaurant does not have vegetarian options.
The luxurious surrounds and views of the volcanoes across the water in Atitlan are show stopping
Close to the lake and shopping, amazing views and food
The property was lovely and the staff were so kind and helpful. It was an excellent location to get to the docks for boats and to get a tuktuk to a nearby village. There was plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
Loved the view of the lake and volcanoes not only from our bedroom but also the dining area.
excellent and very professional staff and hotel restaurant food!
☺️ bed are terrible not comfortable
Beds not very comfortable
Nice place to stay . Beds not very comfortable
Amazing beautiful hotel! Staff was so helpful and friendly!
It's an OK hotel, good location, good view of the volcanoes when it's not cloudy. No VIP memeber mention, no upgrafe offered and no welcome drink. Rooms are old, no AC and you can hear everything from outside
It's a beautiful place to stay. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Staff is pushy and tries to sell you boat service that’s overpriced . Not tourist friendly
Nice property quiet and clean . Staff is pushy at times tryin to get you to book boat ride that’s over priced .
The views were beautiful ~ the grounds were charming and invited relaxation. The staff were amazing~ very kind and helpful.
Very dreamy, accessible, good ambiance, just beautiful.
Staff was very friendly.
Beds not comfortable and we found lots of ants in our room.
Very nice
We really enjoyed our stay here. We had lake views from our rooms and there were various sitting and dining areas overlooking the lake. Staff in all locations were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast and dinners we ate at the hotel were delicious - and the coffee freshly made, a treat (except for only powdered decaf for 1 of the adults). The rooms are large, the beds comfortable (for us), and the bathroom area quite serviceable. Don't miss the opportunity to take advantage of a free ticket for the museum on the property that shows the underwater city of Samabaj. It was excellent, especially the Sambaj underwater experience (2nd part of the museum)! The pool was nice, but it was difficult to find staff to get us towels and lounge chairs. Wifi service was acceptable. The hotel sent out our 2 shopping bags of laundry (by-the-pound service) and it was back later in the day (all for Q70 = $10). The hotel accommodated our request for an early breakfast before the 7 am start time and that was very helpful.
Excellent ubication
Our trip to Lake Atitlan
It was nice. The food is very good. The rooms that have a view of the lake are the best ones.
The hotel was very nice and beautiful, but for the very high price it would be highly recommended that they buy pillow top mattress covers or new mattresses. Both of our rooms had beds that were very hard and extremely uncomfortable, my husband and I, and our friends in the other room could not sleep for most of the night because of it. Other than that it’s a beautiful place and the staff was very courteous.
Great location! Restaurant on the property was good. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The best part was the Museum. It has beautiful mayan pieces. And the underwater exhibition was very nice. Service was good but restaurant is very basic. It is sad that the hotel is in front of the lake and the only thing you see is an ugly toboggan.
I love the hotel very nice people very good food! Can’t wait to go back again
Very convenient to walk to street shops and restaurants. Property of course beautiful. Rooms a bit outdated but spacious. Beds are very very hard but staff sent more cushion to help me as I have a bad back.
It’s was ok. There was some construction around my room noise early morning by my room
The best place to stay 10 stars
Everything is great! However, sleeping furniture mattresses/pillows, need improvement, wifi needs improvement and leisure ammenitoes like TV/smart TV adaptability needs to be up to date. Everything else was perfect but dit find the leisure amenities in the room a bit out of date compared to industry hospitality standards. Hope this helps!
The place it’s beautiful so it’s the service but the food I didn’t like it my niece got really sick we even took it to the hospital he eat a burger and the meet was bad
Everything about this hotel was top notch, I will come back.
Great place to stay, friendly staff
location
Perfect spot to organize any escursions and lake walkway. Pretty landscape. Confortable ammocks. Swimming pool wasn't totally ready for guests (i guess is low season). No spa as advertised (they call a masseurs to ur room if needed). Just sauna. Little museum very informative on site enclosed in the ticket. Very ospitable and accomodating staff.
Wonderful place to stay. All the staff members were super friendly and helpful when we had questions. The food at the restaurant was wonderful and had beautiful view of the lake. Will definitely be coming back. Maravilloso lugar para quedarse. Todos los miembros del personal fueron muy amables y serviciales cuando teníamos preguntas. La comida en el restaurante era maravillosa y tenía una hermosa vista del lago. Definitivamente regresaremos.
Not what I expected. For the price I paid I expec
I wanted to cancel one of the rooms he didn’t allow me. He didn’t give me directions on how to get yo my room.
Fabulous view and lovely property...a little haven right next to busy Calle Santander. The staff could not gave been nicer. Would have loved a coffee maker in the room and online menu for room service...other than that, we loved our stay and i strongly recommend Don Rodrigo.
Good but no cigar in Panajachel
Hotel room nicely appointed with local traditions furniture and fireplace. My room had the only window facing the outdoor passageway between the various blocks of rooms, with no privacy and guest/staff transit. Better to avoid those rooms if possible. Good swimming pool for kids with slide. Large restaurant with average selection and quality. Ideal location for catching boats to other villages. On the grounds of the hotel there is a museum of Mayan pottery found on the bottom of the lake.
Staff is super friendly and helpful. Everything is nice and tidy. Excellent place to stay with family.
Un lugar agradable lo recomiendo
Lovely location conveniently located- However, the beds are not very comfortable. The pool water slide needs to be maintained properly as it was in deplorable condition. the staff is amazing though!
Great stay. Convenient to market and water ferries to other villages around the lake.
Unique location and sightseeing
Location is almost perfect!! Beautiful view, boats are really close, food is great, what i did not like was a lady that was in the welcome office that was not really nice when we check in, but it was the only one, the rest of the staff were great and the “vip benefit” was a joke!! A mini beer (cheapest one they have) and for my girlfriend a natural juice in a glass like two inches tall and mostly full of ice, very dissapointing “VIP benefit”
Very beautiful gardens and the view of the lake/volcanoes. Staff very nice and cooperative.
.
Friendly staff and great location. Clean and beautiful.
Very good
Wonderful place Amazing staff
Hotel was great, felt very safe and close to everything we needed.
Beautiful setting. Restaurant/bar short staffed but extremely friendly once service was provided. Did not receive free drinks.
Very friendly staff. Great service. Kids loved the pool with the water slide.
Everyrhin was good, except the internet.
No reading lamps for bed or even in the room. Drapes and windows are poorly designed. Bathroom toiled despenser was very cumbersome to use. Bathroom was cramped. Slow to get hot water in shower. Few amenites.
Don Rodrigo
Overall a lovely and comfortable hotel… slept very well.. I would highly recommend it to my friends and family.
The grounds of the property were beautiful and its location was great! The staff were friendly and professional. That being said, the wifi connection was not strong in my room which was very disappointing because I needed to work while there. The water in the bathroom was lukewarm at best and it was pretty outdated. The walls were very thin so you could hear everything, I slept with a white noise sound on my phone at night to lessen the sounds of the neighboring guests. Overall it was over priced in my opinion.
Very attentive staff. Beautiful views and grounds.
We encounter fleas and it was not nice ! Other than that the place is great and beautiful staff is super kind !!
Good
This hotel is overpriced and the amenities are poor. Internet is almost impossible to use, room furniture and bathroom are outdated. Will not come back again for a price of $180 per night.
The customer service is outstanding
The water flow in the shower was very poor
This place was beautiful, quiet, and safe!
Property was beautiful Got that lake view room and to wake up to that was amazing Staff was great pleasant and always ready to help.
Great food
Great location, beautiful view, and nice people. It is a bit older and fewer amenities than most hotels today but worth the stay
Somewhat laid back staff but very friendly. I was particularly pleased that a staff member found my camera on a table by the garden and promptly reduced it to management. I would advise guests upon entering the room to make sure there are sufficient hangers in the closet...Food is very good on patio with volcano views. Very satisfactory stay at Panajachel’s middle priced hotel options.
There is some fieldwork in the middle garden all day long and it is very noisy...
We loved this hotel, it is absolutely beautiful!! Loved the hallways with hammocks, the gardens with the fountain, the pool was very nice and the best part was the view from our patio door.
The staff service is unbelievable, the location, the best of Pana
I love this place!!!
Infraestructura en mal estado no se parece a las fotos
What a great place. The staff is so polite and professional and well spoken and respectful. I love this place so much i want to stay longer. Highly recommend.
Went with family and had 3 rooms with Lake View. Parking was easy and staff were super friendly. On check in, 2 of the rooms were not yet ready so the man at the desk offered us a free drink in the restaurant while we waited an additional 20 minutes or so which I thought was nice. The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. We did not eat at the restaurant, but the view was very pretty. Our rooms 305/306 had great views of the lake 311, not so much but was a bit more private as it was the end room and my mother in law could get some rest. The hotel is within walking distance to many street vendors, restaurants and the lakefront which is very important. The rooms were clean, and as previous reviews stated, the beds a bit too firm/hard but it really wasn't a big deal as we were able to get a good night's sleep irregardless. We all enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will definitely return when we go back to Lake Atitlan in the future.
Location was great for parking & simply walk around.
Beautiful hotel at lake front. I got a perfect view of the volcano and the lake. Their landscaping is amazing. Great elegant atmosphere yet welcoming. Staff are all courteous and professional.
Beautiful grounds with a beautiful view!
Beautiful place, but the beds were super hard
The place is beautiful, great view to Lake Atitlan, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The only negative review is to the bed, mattress was estra firm/hard, it felt like I was sleeping on the floor.
