Peaceful, directly across from the ocean! Easy access to the main island highway and good restaurants within walking distance!

Pros: Fabulous outlook on the top floor for breakfast and great view from the pool both over the small bay/harbour area out to sea. Pool never busy during our stay (September) Very clean, spacious room 311, triple (partial sea view, though this was only when at the edge of the balcony. ) Friendly and helpful staff, happy to pre-book taxi or help arrange excursions. Very handy for the very frequent local bus. (Tickets are cheaper from the little kiosk or mini market on the way to Kalamaki bus stop. Buy in bulk and go to the closer bus stop if strolling really isn't your thing.) Very quiet overnight. Air con worked well, around 33c outside, room kept at 23 was very comfortable and the air con was quiet. (It was noiser if trying to get to 16c but that was impossibly cool and not comfortable to live in!) Small selection of restaurants nearby. Easy walk this beach. Cons: it's on the coast road so there's a measure of traffic noise at the pool. Breakfast was basic, ample but well short of amazing. (Ham and orange drink of low quality, not sure if the bacon was real, plenty of egg and cake options) It's 3 miles outside Chania centre, this might not suit everyone. Summary, I'd come again.

It was a really nice property on the water. A very nice pool and the breakfast was on the rooftop and very good!

Horrible

This hotel was dirty and old. There was mold in the bathrooms. The bedding was uncomfortable. They didn’t properly clean the room. I pulled the comforter off and there were stains and a dead fly. The closet and drawers smelled bad and so did the hallways and elevator. Every time we used the sink a soapy foam would come up of the drain on the bathroom floor. The shower curtain was disgusting. The staff was not courteous or friendly. A pair of my shorts went missing during the trip and I asked them several times to look for them. They never found them. One day we accidentally spilled a drink in the hallway by our room. I notified the reception and she didn’t have access to a mop. She handed me paper towels instead. They also didn’t supply us with enough toilet paper. They never replaced the soap in the room either. They didn’t like to give clean towels. The breakfast was not very good. The coffee was instant and the juice was not fresh. I noticed a lot of times the food was leftover from the day before. They were also oddly strict and rude. They didn’t allow us to even take a cup of milk to the room. While enjoying the pool one morning one of the staff members came out to tell the kids at the pool they are not allowed to jump in. No iron in the room so I used my portable steamer. The steamer accidentally stained the sheet. They were quick to charge me 35 euro at checkout for a scratchy sheet they probably had from 1980. They didn’t compensate me for the missing shorts.

Handy for the beach.

Welcoming staff at check in Comfy bed, nice and firm. However the bedding is a sheet and odd scratchy cover. Nice location, lovely view at breakfast. But the breakfast is awful. The "hot" food is lukewarm at best. The coffee tastes like instant. The orange juice, is orange in colour, however it's certainly not fresh juice. Quite a limited selection too. 5 minutes walk from a really nice shallow beach with a nice bar on it. Very relaxing. Was a place to sleep. But nothing special. Wasn't sure if the pool bar was open, only saw 1 person use the pool all week.

Excellent hotel that should be rated higher then just 3 stars The only thing I would add to the breakfast is that they should have some yogurt or oats for babies But the rest very good , the rooms were very comfortable, spacious and the staff very friendly The cleaning staff was impeccable

We loved the location of the hotel, very close to Chania, great restaurants nearby. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace with a view to the sea is absolutely lovely, great food choices. Beds are comfortable, staff is very friendly, kind and professional. Very clean and well maintained hotel. We loved our stay at Porto Alegre!

The views were amazing. I would never stay at this hotel again. No iron, we had to go purchase one as we were attending a wedding. Your only allowed 2 towels per day in your room. Mold in bathroom. Pool closes at 8:30. You can’t bring coffee to your room from the rooftop breakfast. Your only allowed one key so if there’s 2 people staying in the room it’s very inconvenient.

Cleanliness was great in the property. Lack of pretty much anything other than bread or lack of gluten free options at breakfast. Hotel is nice and you get what you pay for really. Bit far out from Chania but the bus is handy and cheap

Decent value for money

Nice staff, decent value for money, nice parking, I would not choose the semi basement room. Breakfast is poor.

We absolutely *LOVED* our time at Porto Alegre. We were here for about 10 days--the first week was for work and the second half was for fun. The staff are all so friendly, we loved interacting with Aristea, she was so kind and so helpful. She helped us book a car (which was cheaper and better than the rental agencies down the street). She helped us book a tour to the Samaria Gorge (which was also cheaper than had we booked it online). The property is beautiful, and the view from the (free) breakfast hall is serene. There are several beaches just walking distance away. If you walk just past Iguana's Beach to the next cove, there is a little sea cave you can swim to or walk to and explore. The local restaurants are very friendly, too. We stayed in a Triple bedroom with sea view and it was very spacious with a kitchenette if you want to eat in. We sometimes ate at the bar downstairs for a snack, where the staff made simple sandwiches. We enjoyed conversing with the staff and learning more about Chania and their lives as well. The pool is beautiful with a view of the sea across the road. The place is just an hour's drive from Balos and about an hour and twenty minutes from Elafonisi. We liked that it was away from the bustle of the center of Chania, but still close enough for a 10 euro cab drive into town. We can't recommend Porto Alegre enough, we really didn't want to leave our magical time in Chania. Highly recommend!

Excellent view

The view of the sea from our balcony was fabulous, but the view from the rooftop breakfast area was sublime and having the option to sit out side was a winner for us. The pool was a good size and reasonably sheltered and clean.

Cozy

We spend 3 days in this hotel and loved it. The room was clean room service was awesome (we had money all over the place in the room and not a single penny was missing). The hotel has a really nice pool that unfortunately didnt get the chance to swim in...we were gonne the whole day and when we would arrive at the hotel from our trips we were too tired lol. Breakfast is delicious and has a lot of diversity. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Great stay

Great location easy transport

Hotel was in a quieter location which was the reason I chose it. It was an easy bus ride either way to Chania or Platania. Comfortable room with own balcony. Pool was located at front with a sea view.

Lovely well positioned hotel.

We found this attractive hotel to have everything that we needed and situated on the local bus route (bus stop outside). Comfortable bed, clean room, good air-conditioning and bathroom facilities, adequate breakfast, although limited selection, served on a roof top terrace with fantastic views of the coast. Hotel close to a variety of local tavernas / restaurants and lovely sandy beaches with good bathing, some with toilet facilities and beach bars.

Porto Alegre was a beautiful hotel, close to everything you need and want in chania, the staff were extremely helpful and kind and I couldn't have asked for a better holiday

Hotelli oli kodikas, siisti ja aamiainen todella hyvä ja uniikki. Hotellin kaikki työntekijät olivat kilttejä ja hotelli on lapsi ystävällinen! Bussi pysäkki on Ihan hotellin vieressä Ja se meni suoraan vanhaan kaupunkiin joten oli loistava kulku yhteys. Kauniit maisemat Ja hyvät ravintolat lähellä

Un hôtel agréable. Belle piscine. Belle vue sur la mer. Belles chambres. Il y a des chambres en semi sous sol. Notre avis porte sur celle du 1er étage. On avait vue sur la colline et c était très calme. Les chambres avec vue mer doivent être un peu plus bruyantes car il y a une rue passante comme dans toutes les zones touristiques. Mais cela reste acceptable. Personnel très agréable. Le petit bémol est qu on est à 5 km de hania donc le bus est incontournables Petit déjeuner simple mais correct

Todella siisti ja toimiva

Hotelli oli todella siisti. Uima-allas puhdas ja mukava ja aurinkotuoleja riittävästi. Aamupalapaikka merinäköalalla kiva. Huoneissa tosi tehokas ilmalämpöpumppu. Hikoilla ei tarvinnut. Lähellä ihan parhaita ruokapaikkoja ja mukavia rantabaareja. Viihdyimme kaikki.

Hotellin sijainti oli rauhallisella alueella, ei liikaa turisteja. Hotellihuone oli huono, melut käytävästä ja naapurin wc käynnit kuuluivat huoneeseen. Suihku oli rikki ja kasteli koko huoneen pesuissa. Henkilökunta oli ok.

Das Hotel ist gut von den Hauptstraßen aus zu erreichen, in der Nähe finden sich viele einladende Lokale und Restaurants. Unser Zimmer war großzügig geschnitten, sauber, die Inneneinrichtung zwar nicht modern, aber seinen Zweck hat es erfüllt. Leider kam drei Tage lang der Zimmerservice nicht... Das Frühstück ist einfach gehalten, völlig ausreichend, wenn man keine bestimmmtem Vorstellungen hat. Die Wände lassen Geräusche der Nachbarn durchhören. Den Pool haben wir nie benutzt, da er erst um 10.30 Uhr öffnet, wo wir lieber die Strände aufsuchten.

Το ξενοδοχείο είναι σε πολύ καλή κατάσταση, πολύ καθαρό και σε όμορφη περιοχή για διακοπές. Το πάρκινγκ έχει χωρητικότητα μικρότερη του αριθμού δωματίων, και το προσωπικό στα όρια του τυπικού: nothing more, nothing less. Πρωινό φτωχό μα φρέσκα υλικά.

Överlag ett trevligt hotell, passade oss bra som inte spenderade så mycket tid på just hotellet. Trevlig pool, lite tråkigt frukost kanske men annars helt klart prisvärt, hjälpsam och trevlig personal.

Fik et hotel værelse som var i kælderen/højde. Værelset var ved siden af vaskerummet, så der var mega fugtigt inde på værelset. Så måtte efter to dage flytte til andet værelse og betale mere pga. beliggenheden på hotellet. Men værelset fejlede ikke noget ellers, men stort fugtigheds problem.

Tres belle chambre, très calme. Hôtel très bien situé. Personnel très accueillant.

Venlig og behjælpsom personale. Hotelet var ren og pæn men lugtede af mug og var meget fugtig. Morgenmaden var SÅ dårlig og bestod næsten kun af toastbrød og kage.

Prisvärt hotell med bra läge. Hade rum ut mot havet o poolen, fint! Kommer välja detta igen om vi åker till Chania

Viikko hotellissa

Äänet käytäviltä, toisista huoneista kuului häiritsevästi huoneeseen. Aamupala oli melko vaatimaton, ei juurikaan tuoreita tuotteita. Valikoimaa kylläkin oli. Henkilökunta vaikutti " väsyneeltä", olisiko jo sesongin loppu syynä? Huoneeseen ( katutason) wifi ei juurikaan toiminut, tämä selkeästi heikoin wifi mitä hotelleissa ollut. Plussaa siisti allasalue sekä hotellin sopima taksihinta lentokentälle (30€). Siisteys taso perusluokkaa, joka päivä puhtaat pyyhkeet. Rantatie Kissamokseen hotellin edessä, bussipysäkille lyhyt matka. Ei ehkä "skandinaaviseen tasoon", toki hintakin melko alhainen.

Top surtout si vous êtes véhiculé

Top! Chambre calme, propre et spacieuse. Piscine propre avec vue sur la mer. Certes l route passe entre les deux mais idéal pour commencer une semaine de vacances. Parking gratuit: ideal si vous avez une voiture. Petit déjeuner: sur le toit, top. En conclusion: je recommande si vous êtes vehiculé, surtout si vous voulez visiter la canée sans être noyé dans les milliers de touristes

El hotel está muy bien

El hotel no está nada mal.no es un super hotel porque es un hotel pequeñito pero para ir unos dias no está mal. Tiene vistas el mar pero tener en cuenta que esa zona es rocosa,eso quiere decir que no está a pie de playa,la más cercana estará u un 1km,más o menos. Para todo lo demás perfecto,tambien es depende de las exigencias de cada uno.

Ottimo hotel vista mare con piscina e parcheggio gratuito. Struttura ben curata e camera pulita. Buonissima colazione internazionale in terrazza con vista mare. Reception H24 con personale disponibile e accogliente.

Meget bra hotell. God service og meget god renhold

Oppholdet på hotellet var meget bra. Rengjøring var over all forventing, de vasket rommet hver dag og vi fikk nye håndduker hver dag. De lånte ut basseng/strand håndduker som vi fikk byttet når vi ønsket. Det var gratis. Betjeningen var hyggelig og veldig service innstilt. Frokosten var enkel, men den var god. Vi følte oss velkommen .

Prima hotel, uitzicht op zee. Zeer ruim balkon.

Er loopt een heel drukke weg, voor het hotel door. Maar daar hebben we totaal geen last van gehad. Uitzicht op zee. Alleen jammer v/d elektriciteitsdraden die duidelijk zichtbaar zijn.

Veldig hyggelig og imøtekomande personell. God frokost.
