Great value hostel
It was good stay and our double room was better than expected with fridge, coffee, milk, tea and big size room. The downside of the property are the paper wall it has where you can hear everything. Very close to restaurants, marina etc
Good value for money (considering its Port Douglas!). Basic but good. Large room and bed. Great aircon. Good location. Friendly staff. Ensuite cleaning was average/OK.
It was my first stay in a hostel ever. I booked myself into Double Ensuite room. Room wasn’t as nice as I have expected. It looked a bit like a room in a prison to be fair. Bedding was old and dirty, especially white cushion. Extremely stained. Dust and dirt everywhere on the floor. I know it’s a hostel so I have expected it to be a bit louder but my first night (Monday) people partied until 3am which was a sucker for me as I had to be up before 7am. Personally, felt slightly unsafe on my first night then I got over it. There was TV, kettle and a fridge so that was handy but I probably expected it to be more ‘hotel’ like service. You live, you learn. If you are young and on a budget then sure, go for it. I booked it as it was the only option available for the dates that I was coming and under $150 a night. Chick on the reception was lovely and tried to be helpful. Made me feel a bit more comfortable. Personally, I wouldnt stay again.
Good place to stay
Good hotel room in a hostel. Prime location
Lovely open layout with plenty of courtyard permitted sun to flood the big fresh space. Stayed in a Queen Ensuite with my partner and everything was clean, functioning, efficent, and exceeded expectation. Such a nominal walk to the hot strip of P. Dougie its beyond convenient for gettin out and about, not to mention the provided ease of parking right in fornt of the hostel, shaded by some beautiful ol FNQ-style trees. Healthy vibrant public spaces too
Stayed in the queen bed room and loved it! Very clean and comfortable-husband especially happy to have our own foxtel in the room.
Could be cleaner but great value for money
Helpful, friendly staff and the bar had cheap drinks. However the condition of the kitchen wasn't being maintained very well, people needed to be told to clean up their stuff and it wasn't happening, plus I couldn't see a clean tea towel. The double room was very spacious and the location was great for the beach and the local restaurants. We hired a car and could park for free off street, and had a great time exploring the Daintree Rainforest. We got a couple of good food and drink deals with the hotel's sister companies which was great!
Great location, lovely staff, great rooms
Private room had everything and more to make my stay comfortable. Only regret I had was not booking more nights. For a backpackers, this place was better than most the hotels I had stayed at on my trip.
Great backpackers!
Travelling as a couple we opted for a Queen/Double Room with our own ensuite. The bed was really comfortable, the room was clean and we even had Foxtel! I was surprised it wasn't too noisy considering we were right above the bar/common room that's on the bottom floor. The only noise we heard in the night was other patrons talking in the hallways and slamming doors. Shower was hot with good pressure. We had a small fridge, kettle and some tea/coffee supplies. Ceiling fan did the job as it was winter, but there was a working AC unit as well. Nice leafy outlook from the first floor, with a roller blind for night. All the basics completely covered! The only issue we encountered was not having anywhere to hang things up. No towel rack in the bathroom and no hooks anywhere.I did see railings and washing lines in the common areas, but as we had our own very spacious room we would have liked to have been able hang our shower towels, beach towels, wet swimmers, clothes etc up in the room itself. Great location, great amenities. Overall would recommend this place to all travellers on a budget, not just backpackers :)
disappointing
Paid for a six-bed dorm, only got an eight-bed dorm. no apology, no refund of the difference. Aside from that: close to the center, albeit on an unlit street. Kitchen and bathrooms are a mess.
Nice backpackers
The only bad thing is the hardness of the bed, woke up everyday in agony. But everything else was great. Awesome location, clean, convenient parking, close to the beach.
Friendly staff and nice clean room that was close to everything.
Great value and right near the Main Street!
We loved this hostel! We had a double room which was very tidy. It was right near town too! We loved the $10 meal deals the hostel offered around Port Douglas. The only thing I may suggest is that the showers need a good scrub and that the aircon is due for an upgrade. Otherwise loved it, would go back for sure!
cheap ensuite for one night stay close to shops
It was okay for a one night stay, don't think we would stay again as we are over 60, where not young back packers
Lovely hostel. Clean rooms and great location. Would defo recommend :)
Convenient for exploring Port Douglas
Private room was big and comfortable. Bed on wheels and moved from simply sitting down so had to be wedged to stop movement. TV in room with great range of channels. BUT common area and kitchen were quite dirty. Others left crockery unwashed and communal area felt unloved.
backpacker accomodation
the queen ensuite room was everything you would need in a room and was neat and stylish, however, the noise at the hotel was too much. I didnt get to sleep until well after 1am due to noisy residents walking through the halls talking at the top of their voices and banging doors everytime they went into or out of their rooms. There really is no real noise management in this place and the design of the building means you are exposed to every sound until everyone else has gone to bed!
Clean backpackers in central Port Douglas
Stayed here for one night in August in a Double Ensuite room. Room was large and clean. Water pressure and temperature in the shower were good. Parking was easy. Staff friendly. Bed rolled around when sat on hence marked down for room comfort. Would stay again for the value.

Great hostel!
Great hostel in a perfect location. Staff are friendly and helpful. I stayed in the 6-bed female dorm (room 211). Bed was comfortable, the room was big and there was plenty of space to store all of my belongings. The only downside that I could find was that there wasn't powerpoints beside each of the beds so made it difficult to charge my electronics. There's also plenty of free street parking in front of the hostel.
