Great place.

Great room with lovely shared facilities for tea and coffee just outside the room. 10 minute walk to the centre of town. Great pub next door. Very comfortable.

What a find! Just delightful with lots of thoughtful touches. Loved the locally made soaps and shampoo bar.

Perfect location- parking onsite- easy walk into town . Comfortable bed ,warm room and underfloor heating in bathroom was a happy discovery. French doors opened out onto a little garden alcove. Perfect spot to sit on the timber steps with a cup of Tea. Fab pub next door for dinner and cafe on the corner a wonderful breakfast spot. Two nights well spent - would come again :-)

Fabulous place to stay in Christchurch

We loved our 2 day stay at Pomeroy’s. The room in the renovated cottage was clean & comfortable, with a great shared area for tea & coffee, including a toaster and fridge. No noise from the pub next door. Included breakfast at the corner cafe was wonderful & we enjoyed dinner at the adjacent pub. Great location for exploring Christchurch. Highly recommended!

Very clean, quiet rooms, heated floor in washroom,

Clean, comfortable and with easy 10/15 minutes walk into Christchurch. Good breakfast however coffee and juice should both be included not either/ or. Ask for a quiet room

Great location and it was nice that fruit, coffee and tea was included. And the room was nice too. The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom. It is impossible to have a shower and not get water all over the entire bathroom floor. (Perhaps installing a shower door, and putting in a lip along the floor might help.) Plus there was no place to put our stuff in the bathroom. But all in all, the whole place was pleasing to us. Thanks very much.

A great accommodation adjacent to the historic pub, we really enjoyed our night there. The food in the cafe for breakfast and dinner and lively atmosphere in the pub was excellent! Close to city Centre but cozy enough tucked away we recommend It highly!

Quirky B&B, the breakfast was good but we've stayed in 5* hotels on this trip which have cost less, so unfortunately on a value for money basis it's poor. The pub is still one of the best you'll find anywhere though.

Lovely property, quiet, clean, great bed. A cafe right next door for your included breakfast, which was great, good choices. And a pub right there as well with really goid food! Convenient laundry in the house! A short 10 min walk to the center of town. Very walkable city, flat! Would definitely reccomend!

We stayed in the room Kilmore which was very clean. The shower room was very small & there was nowhere to hang towels or clothing in there! Although there was a heated towel rail in the bedroom. The room was adequate for our needs. We enjoyed using the tea & coffee making facilities in the dining room. We had delicious meals at the pub next door & little Poms for breakfast.

I had another great stay at Pomeroy’s BnB, my room was immaculate, and very comfortable, and parking is easy and convenient. I caught up with family at the Pomeroys Pub next door, it has a amazing range of craft beers and great meals. The breakfast in the morning, included in the rooms charge, was superb, best scrambled eggs anywhere! The staff are fabulous! Thanks Pomeroys,

Nice charming rooming house with comfortable bed and nice courtyard. had good nights sleep in Canterbury room. Disliked that the shower with no screen drenched almost all the bathroom, and that the fan does no work to remove steam. Water pressure and hot water both excellent. thats my only criticism. Room was superb, breakfast was excellent, very good value for money. I used the communal living/dining area after check-out which was very convenient to get some work done before heading to the airport. Only niggle was the property did not have a record of my booking. Fortunately I had printed my confirmation so they put me in a room even though it had someone else’s name against it. Will was extremely friendly and helpful in sorting this out.

Great stay

We stayed here overnight twice on our NZ trip. Its an older building but rooms are comfortable and there is a laundry. There is a pub next door and a café all owned by the same owner that owns the hotel. We had free breakfast in the café which is popular with locals. The pub is also very popular with locals and we enjoyed it, too. We met the owner and he bought us a round of drinks. We would stay here again.

We loved the place. Excellent stay - fantastic meals at the pub and cafe next door, and staff were extremely friendly and easy going. Recommend this to everyone, and we will definitely stay again when visiting Christchurch.

Great location in Christchurch! Walk to Town Centre from the B&B . Staff was very helpful, especially Ava. Great breakfast every morning next door & fabulous bar & restaurant at Polmeroys also next door. Nice outdoor patio as well.

My husband enjoyed the close proximity to a fine craft beer hotel. I loved the heated bathroom floor and the truly excellent bedside lights for reading in bed. The perfect winter refuge!

Lovely B&B next to pub with fab food

Final night of our NZ trip, finished off beautifully at Pomeroy’s. Dinner in the pub was one of the best of our trip. Beautiful food, good wine / beer, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend

Accommodation with a difference

A pleasant stay in an adapted old home. The bedrooms, with en suite bathroom, and separate shared kitchen facility are in one building. The restaurant and English style craft beer pub, is next door. The breakfast/cafe is next door again. Service was friendly and food quality was excellent.

Noise from Bar's Garden

I did not realize that the noise from the bar's garden customers would be so loud in the evening. My mistake. this was very loud at 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. The locals finally quieted down and we were able to get to sleep at about 9:40 p.m..

It is close to airport and that's it

I had very hard time while check in and check out. There was hardly any info/ staff to talk to. You literally have to go to the bar which is adjacent . If you do not know you will just wander around. The address was in correct. It is not 292 Kilmore rd. There were no shampoo or handwash. It had a tiny piece of soap like bar ( less than 1 square inch). One quilt was itchy for some reason. However it is very close to airport.

Great location, lovely room, and fantastic staff

We arrived well before check-in time, but the staff went out of their way to help us maximise our short stay in Christchurch by putting our bags away securely so we could head into the city. Cathedral Square is just a pleasant 20 minute walk away. The room was excellent - very spacious and tastefully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed. We had dinner in the adjoining pub restaurant and enjoyed one of the best meals of our 4-week stay in New Zealand!, not to mention the more than 30 craft beers on tap! Service from staff was again excellent.

perfect stop over

I arrove late but was greeted very well by the pub staff across the alley... was exactly what I was looking for and needed the night I stayed.. checked in.. dropped my bags off and had dinner with a couple beers at the pub.. finished with a walk next door and sleep.. excellent.. I'd stay again..

Quaint, cosy Villa B&B

My wife and I were staying the night as we had our Xmas party next door at Pomeroy's. Check in was easy - a staff member lead us through the beautiful dining room where they had all the boutique coffee and tea making facilities. Then into our bedroom - WOW!! high ceilings, old sash windows. The room was very tastefully decorated full of character and charm. A cute bathroom with toilet/shower and seperate wardrobe. Was a very peaceful night sleep. We both really enjoyed the experience and left feeling very relaxed.

Welcoming respite.

After traveling from Massachusetts to Texas to Auckland to Christchurch we wanted a place to stay, stretch our legs, relax and catch up on sleep. Pomeroy’s was perfect for that. We left having been able to do that. It is conveniently located for walking and restaurants. The included breakfast was a great way to start the day. Steve understood our need for rest and was very helpful with suggestions.

four days in christchurch

I stayed at Pomeroy's on Kilmore for three nights and it was perfect for my needs. Quiet, clean and tidy and perfectly located for my needs, close to the central city. I had room to work on my computer and was not bothered by anyone else staying.

Comfortable and cosy with friendly, hospitable sta

Totally enjoyed our 3 night stay. We're looked after and given a lot of information to help us navigate our way through Christchurch. Wonderful evenings in Pomeroys pub next door chatting with the very friendly locals!!

Have stayed here many times, last time was over a year ago. The addition of the cafe Little Pom has definitely enhanced my stay. I will be back!!

Character and convenient

Nice hotel close to the city

Hotel patrons drinking almost outside our rooms were the only problem. Great location, clean comfortable rooms, nice breakfast.

Excellent little gem in Christchurch

Excellent little charming B&B right next to the Pub. Very clean, and cozy. Would love to stay here again some day in the future. Great food and beers in the Pub next door, and the small breakfast offered in "Little Dom" in the morning is VERY high quality! Excellent experience all around!

Great restaurant and pub!

The hotel is small and very nice. Select a room away from the pub if yo wish quiet in the evening. The pub next to the hotel is wonderful. The food is superb!

Great sized room. Shame the bathroom was tiny and the sink took ages to drain.

A great place!

We spent our first couple of nights in New Zealand at Pomeroy's. The room was a good, (though not huge), size, with an excellent bathroom, and a nice little private garden space outside. Steve, the owner, was extremely helpful on our arrival. The atmosphere, the beers and the food in the adjoining pub was wonderful, (we were a little concerned that the late evening pub noise would disturb our sleep, but it didn't). All in all, we would happily return to Pomeroy's should we revisit Christchurch.

Cosy, comfortable, good location

I liked the room, the location, and the breakfast (available at the cafe next door). There is no one on site to answer questions, everything, including check in, is taken care of by the staff at the restaurant/bar next door. There is Wi-Fi in the common area, but not in the rooms (I asked about the Wi Fi and was told they would look into it. Four hours later, having heard nothing, I asked again and was told the person who checked on it had gone home and there was nothing they could do).

Nice B&B walkable to city center

Clean room in cute cottage next to a pub. Good breakfast provided, which is self serve. Good location with free parking provided.

Over priced backpackers.

Place was cold and sterile. Parking out the back was full due to patrons drinking in Pub. Our flight was changed to an early flight so unable to eat our continental breakfast due to kitchen closure. Staff didn't even offer to put out breakfast items the night before so we could eat when we got up, pathetic. Feel ripped off and very disappointed.

A real gem. Next to a pub and Little Poms restaurant. Staff incredibly helpful an oasis in a city devastated by the 2011 earthquake. Accommodation full of character.

Honeymoon

As most of the other hotels became sold out or over booked I came across Pomeroys. I booked three nights before my guided tour and one after. The hotel is simple but elegant. The best you would expect from a bed and breakfast. It is a great bargain for the cost. Except for one night at a five star hotel on the guided tour I would have rather stayed at Pomeroys compaired to many of the others I stayed in. If I go back to New Zeland I would definitely stay at this hotel.

Beautiful old building.

Pomeroy's on Kilmore is a beautiful old building transformed into boutique accommodation. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and felt very luxurious. The bed was amazingly comfortable and our stay was so relaxing. It is close enough to walk to things in Christchurch and we had lovely meals at the Pomeroy's hotel next door.

Bonus pub next door

Small, quiet boutique B&B. We just arrived when they were completing cleaning and were very accommodating with request. Location is outside the CBD but within walking distance to many locales. The staff at the bar which is part of the b&B were quite helpful with suggestions.

Great hotel next to craft brewery. So convenient to walk next door to the pub and have dinner. Great location and a very popular spot for the after work crowd.

I'd stay here again

only one night before I flew out of Chch airport. Great little B&B, breakfast included at the café next door. Pub/bar next door also, food is good and lots of beer on tap. Only mild negative is if you are expecting a quiet early night, the pub next door is loud until it closes at 11pm.

It was a lovely boutique hotel and we both loved our stay here.

A great introduction to Kiwi hospitality

Georgia did everything to ensure our stay was perfect. She stayed to greet us despite our flight not arriving in Christchurch until 23.50. The food at the pub next door is great. All in all a brilliant place to stay.

A Lovely B&B

Our stay at Pomeroy's was nice. The room was pretty, and opened onto a lovely garden. We enjoyed visiting with fellow residents in the common room.

Lovely b&b style accommodation. Pub next door is where you need to collect the keys (not able to get into property otherwise as gate was shut). Lovely room & breakfast in the cafe was a lovely touch & food was amazing! Nice walk into main part of Christchurch. Regenerating town & it's heart is definitely still beating.

Comfortable with some drawbacks

A comfortable room however the bathroom was on the small side, the room lacked any seating which meant if we wanted to sit down it was the bed or nothing while the complimentary breakfast was on the skimpy side. That said it was a pleasant room with access to a kitchen to prepare tea or coffee (tho that's all) while the hotel itself was in good walking distance of the city centre.

Room needed a fan. We've ate at the hotel and the food was great.

Spacious and quiet

The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood but not too far away from town centre. The room is very spacious and the heating in the bathroom is great! We love the cafe around the corner - we did enjoy our complementary breakfast there!

Perfect for a short stay, pub and cafe included!

Pomeroy's is perfect if you like small b&bs that still feel like someone's home. Better yet, the Old Brewery Inn is next door and there is a new cafe Lil' Poms just one door down from that. You can't beat the convenience especially if you only have a short time in Christchurch. Breakfast is served in the cafe on weekdays and they have a small menu of included items or you get a discount on the rest of the menu. (The eggs Benedict were well worth the extra money and enough to share). The pub serves a wide range of local and craft beers and a solid wine list. It's mid-range price but all of the food we tried was great. The Inn is about a 20 minute walk from Hagley Park or ReStart mall downtown so it's not centrally located but we were happy to take the long walk along the river to get there. We would definitely stay again, particularly for one or two nights in Christchurch.

Excellent in every way

My Garden Room was a delight, with original design and a feeling of home.

Charming hotel!

Lovely ambience and setting; convenient location; free parking; and a great value. One of the few B&B with a room for 3 people--2 adults and 1 child.

Not what was expected food wise

Unfortunately the main disappointment for our stay over the four days was the lack of the expected Continental breakfast witch was lacking in the quantity of food on offer namely one item of choice off the menu of three.

Lovely stay in Christchurch

We stayed at Pomeroys twice during our NZ trip. We enjoyed our stay at the B&B. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant in the Pomeroy's Hotel next door was very convenient and the food and service was excellent. The beer is vey special as well

Possibly the most comfortable bed in town

We simply loved Pomeroy's: From the friendly e-mails after we booked, to a welcoming room with a very, very large and comfortable bed, a good bathroom (finally a shower with strong water pressure and a hair dryer), in an overall nice setting. Breakfasts next door at Pom's Little Cafe was excellent too!

Cute place to get away

Owned by an incredible couple, you feel welcome the second you walk through the door. Good recommendations on food places, and they make a killer breakfast! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful B + B close to the CBD

The room was lovely, with plenty of space and very clean. The staff at the hotel next door (The Pomeroy, which I highly recommend) assist with keys and introduction to the facilities. The facilities are B & B style (shared kitchen with breakfast food, snacks, tea & coffee available 24/7, shared coin laundry, but you do get a private ensuite bathroom. We foolishly managed to lock ourselves out, but the staff at the Cafe next to the hotel next to the B & B (Little Poms, also highly recommended) were able to let us in at an ungodly hour of the morning! All in all an excellent place to stay in this very unusual city.

Lovely

Had a lovely 2 night stay with a comfortable room and a help yourself breakfast. Ate both nights in the pub and the food was excellent and all the staff we met were friendly and helpful. A good 15 minute walk to Chrischurch centre. Would definitely recommend.

Pleasant stay

Lovely room, great supplies for breakfast, good wi-fi. We were there on a Thursday and Friday night and there was a bit of noise from the pub, but wasn't too bad. Owner bought us a drink when he saw us in the pub. It's a longish walk into town (worse coming back on a cold night after dinner!), but all in all a pleasant stay.

Amazing Staff

In a great location, easy walk to most attractions. Stayed in the Kilmore room, clean and inviting. Quiet too considering the accommodation is next to the pub. I highly recommend, we will be back soon.

Great B&B next to the pub with amazing food

Everything here was fantastic. Room was clean and tidy and warm showers. Breakfast selection was great which included home made bread! A complimentary drink to the pub next door was a fantastic surprise.

We are return guests as we enjoying staying. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Good off street parking available.

Enjoyed my night here. The place seemed generally quiet that night but everything was well set up and cosy.

B&B next to great pub

Arrived late, easy to collect key from bar staff at Pomeroy's Old Brewery Inn (next door). Continental breakfast included. Given a complimentary drink voucher each on arrival, with 31 different craft beers on tap much thought went into choosing something suitable!

Charming hotel with a great breakfast room. Staff are very nice and even on a busy night in the attached pub, made sure we had a table for after checking in. Good food, great beer.

A very cosy stay!

The Pomeroy Boutique Hotel was a great find for me. I wanted somewhere that had a more homely feel than the average hotel room. It was very comfortable, great bed, big enough for two people to stay comfortably. The pub next door served dinner and was cosy and very English! Exceptionally quiet stay! The breakfast was a help yourself style in a lovely dining room and was fabulous! Most enjoyable.

Fantastic for a B&B

Lovely people and located next to the best bar in Christchurch. Nowhere will you find a staff that are as passionate and caring as Poms. It's the only place I look forward to staying at when we come visit. Plus it saves a heck of a lot on taxi trips.

We wish our stay had been longer

We were very pleased with the accommodation. The house is charming and our room (the Avon room) was comfortable and cozy. The breakfast offerings were tasty...the fresh baked bread was a nice touch. We had our evening meal in the pub next door. The food was excellent and, unlike in the States, children are welcome too. The staff we encountered were all friendly and gracious.
