Absolutely fantastic location - mid town manhattan 10/10 Walkable to a lot of landmarks e.g times sq, 5th ave, st patricks cathederal, rockefeller centre etc - 10/10 Service and staff including the night security was excellent, they were helpful and efficient. - 10/10 Room was affordable and reasonable given the time of year! Room itself was small (to be expected) but there's under the bed storage and enough for a case or 2. Room itself was clean, tidy, shared bathrooms were good too - only downside is the bed is okay, decent sleep but could be comfier and the quilt is very thin. (With room heating tjough, this wasn't too bad and you can ask for an extra blanket). Rooftop view was pretty cool - 9/10 All in all a decent hotel, with good facilities and in a great location.
4 star rating for this property. For the shared bathroom, I recommend bringing a plastic bag so you can put your toiletries and clothes inside and to hang it on the wall in the shared bathroom. Otherwise you have to put it on the sink or on the toilet which I think is unsanitary. Bathroom was definitely regularly cleaned. The space in the bathroom is pretty small. I am a 5’4 woman who is around 110 lbs, and when I sat on the toilet my knees touched the wall in front of me. And while I shower often my body touched the wall as well. So I won’t recommend if you are someone who wants big spaces. Housekeeping: The housekeeping person took the pizza box I had on the table with few pizzas inside. Also, the day when I put “do not disturb” sign on the door, someone came in and organized one of our bunk bed and also left the ladder against the wall. Staff: The lady in the front was not so nice, but all the other people were kind and helpful. Overall, the stay was comfortable and not bad thinking of its price. I would come again if I have to visit new york again.
Very clean and comfortable.
Was a great stay and super great prices!
Great place for it price.
Service was ok, when I was heading to my room the hallway smelled like smoke and other bad smells. In my room the heater was not working. The room felt unsafe and in bad condition.
Cheap hotel, small spaces, basic facilities
Safe, efficient, great location
Not bad
It was good
Excellent staff!!!
Perfect for me and my mom for New Years. At first, I was concerned about the shared bathroom, but it's actually one toilet and one shower in a door key accessible room so really it's a private bathroom, but it's in the hallway but only one person at a time can use it. I wish I would've known that part because I would've booked it sooner for the entire trip, but I was turned off by them advertising shared bathroom, but really to me that's still private. The beds were comfortable and the TVs on each bed are great because my mom loves to watch the news and I don't so us being able to watch what we wanted on our own TVs was awesome. The rooms were small, but that was OK for us. We still had everything we needed. There's still a sink in the room for you to wash hands and brush your teeth and things like that. I thought the rooms were excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very kind as well.
Really clean and safe atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive.
Upon reading the reviews I was nervous to stay at pod 51, however they provided a great stay for my first trip to New York, they honestly couldn’t have made my stay any more comfortable. I would recommend and stay here again!
Great value on a budget
It was affordable and quaint. For the size and limits, the price was worth it considering the competition. There’s value there.
Management was extremely pleasant & helpful.
Really convenient, near to 2 subway stations and time square
great
I had to wait a long time to use the bathroom and shower but other than that, the stay was as expected.
Close to everything
Better than we expected! Quiet, clean, friendly staff. Thank you!
Everything was perfect! Best location
One night solo stay
This hotel suited my needs for one night.Affordable.Clean and safe.Good location.
This is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. Just don't expect much and you will be fine. Lower those expectations.
Too small
.
Very nice and cozy, would stay again
I was booked for a king or queen size bed and it was a full, first day I had to call at night because heat was unbearable and a technician was sent that room was without thermostat, so I had to be moved to another room, the next room was a little twin bed and I had paid for a queen and phone didn't work so they moved me again to another room and finally in the other room at around 1.00 a.m. there was noise from people that were working and vaccuming a room close by and had to call security to quiet the noise. it wasn't a good experience at all this hotel. There's not even a bending machine with water.
The room was very small but convenient as we were only there to basically sleep. It was clean and we felt safe.
A localização ótima ! Tem várias padarias perto ! Gostei muito !
Room was too small for the price.
Quiet, safe, simple accommodations in a great neighborhood. Staff was super helpful
This hotel was super nice! I decided on a shared bathroom/twin bed for the price and it was not as intimidating as it sounds. The bathroom was always kept clean (there were 4 available on my floor). I would stay here again for a budget option.
I have stayed at the other POD locations and have never had an issue. This was my first time staying at POD 51 and there was blood on one of the pillows in the room.
Clean, comfortable, good price
Definite go-to !
Love Pod 51 and Pod 39. My go-tos when i come to NYC
Expensive for a very small space. Bare bones. Might be better going to another hotel that’s slightly more in price.
Pod 51 Manhattan
It was a great stay. I would absolutely stay there or any other Pod Hotel again.
No way is this hotel rated 3-star. The room is as small as a prison cell and does not have private bathroom. It is clean and in a good location though. Overall, it is a good deal for midtown NYC if you pay under 100. Anything above that is like a robbery.
Room incredibly small.
Comfortable stay
Excellent and secure
The location is very good if you want to walk to Union square, Broadway and Central Park areas. Clean and good enough facilities, if you do not mind sharing bathroom services
Excellent
Had never stayed at a Pod hotel so I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Would recommend to a friend on a budget.
Htel was good
Amazing would stay again
It was affordable and convenient.
Nice location and clean property.
Rooms are smaller than I thought. Room is a bit warm despite having AC. POD in Times Square is definitely more superior.
The property is in a convenient location. The first room was tiny, too small for 2 people. At an additional charge they put me in a larger room. The size was fine, but the wall pipes were very loud. The base of the toilet was leaking & then the next morning maintenance & cleaning people were yelling outside my door because the room across the way was flooding. Since I was traveling from the West Coast it was very early for me. Then the maintenance man pounded on my door to look in the walls at the pipes. The chaotic morning was unpleasant to say the least. The next 2 mornings were better, but I wouldn’t stay there again.
Okay - but not a great nights sleep!
The stay was okay - and had many plus points, such as location and friendly staff. However, the incredibly loud knocking pipes multiple times in the night in the room is a no no! This meant I was basically awake from 4 am every morning. I did tell the front desk but nothing was done. I appreciate it’s an old building but you shouldn’t sell rooms which emit houses that wake people
Great!!!
Met my needs and then some
Great location and exactly what we needed for our short stay. Bathrooms were clean.
Everything was fine!
Overpriced for such small rooms. It felt like a small version of a dorm room. It was a bit noisy at times. Housekeeping was unprofessional laughing when I simply asked her where my room was. The staff who checked me in was a bit short and borderline rude. Not welcoming.
Lol
Great staff, all the essentials.
The staff were all amazing and kind. The room itself has everything you need for a small stay. The bathroom was a little too small and not the most clean.
The staff was very helpful and attentive. Front desk staff was very friendly, sweet, and helpful. Huge thanks to Zenu, Benny and Leo!! 💗💗
Lovely little hotel. Great for a stay in NYC.
.
It was close enough to the metro
It was a really nice stay for the price.
The staff was fantastic and super attentive! They really made our experience enjoyable.
Great location close to subway station to both LaGuardia and JFK, Central Park, Madison and Park Avenues. Lots of restaurants and drug stores around. Rooms are clean, and are cleaned every day (rare nowadays). Staff are friendly.
Super convenient and easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Would recommend.
If you want a budget way to stay in NYC, this is it!
Poor
Didnt know until check in that it was a shared bathroom
The mattress was too hard. And I couldn't regulate the room temperature. Otherwise it was fine.
POD ❤️
Had everything you need! Nice and clean and cozy
Very dirty
All as described
Perfect Location
AC stinks
Great stay, I will book again
The concierge and greeters were super sweet. I would definitely recommend staying here :)
Clean, crisp sheets. Clean room. Funky cool lobby
Great place, will come back. Only issue is that our room had a private bathroom but was next to the shared ones. Non-stop noise from the closing door. Non-stop! ALL night. Otherwise great “budget” place.
Great location and value.
I liked the location. But as for the room, you could hear everything out in the halls. The pillow case had a blood stain. The tv did not work. Customer service to fix these issues were awful
Cleaning staff was incredible. Front desk staff was excellent as well. The location of Pod 51 is convenient with nearby subway access.
Not very clean
Way too small and way way too expensive for what it was. The property was ok but the price was a travesty
This was an excellent choice for a very affordable safe, clean, convenient room to myself in Midtown Manhattan. Lots of options as well for those who want to spend less and share one of many bathrooms in the hallway, really fun lively bar on the property and the staff are great. No complaints whatsoever.
Nice hotel close to NY attractions hear Time Square and Rockefeller Center. Very close to the #6 Subway terminal.
Everything was great.
Room was clean and reasonable quiet. There were only 2 washrooms on the 11th floor, was expecting 4 as advertised. Usually only had to wait 5 min or so. Hotel staff were great and kept the property very clean
This is the second time I stayed while running NYC marathon. Rooms are tiny (important to note some share hall bathrooms) but I felt it was clean and safe, nice neighborhood near subway. Rooftop and outside garden are very nice and there is a little coffee shop. Great for solo traveler. The street is noisy but it’s NY.
First trip to New York - Pod 51 was the perfect place to make it memorable and great. I'll be back!
Okay
We arrived earlier than check-in time, and the staff coordinated our available room. I like most of the place, but there is few thing I didn't like. The AC wasn't clean. The screen panel on AC was dusty. The sink was small, and water dripped over the edge after I washed my face. I had to place the face towel at the edge of the sink to block the water dripping to the floor. The size of the room was okay for me. The carpet was so stinky. It smelled like someone's dirty foot. It was for only the entrance door area.
Sharing a bathroom.
Everybody was very nice but there was some construction going on outside
very beautiful all staff was friendly
Our flight came in AM and when we got to the hotel, the room was available and we were able to check in early.. staff very nice and friendly. Would recommend and will be coming back
The hotel was ok, but they were not able to stop neighbours with the noise and respect silence after 11pm I think it’s disrespectful to other guests.
The hotel is located around 15 minutes from 5th avenue, nice location The heating and cooling system noises is insane and most probably you won’t be able to sleep easily.
Staff are lovely
Good experience
This was a neat experience and I recommend you try it. We had a small room with a bunk bed. The restroom and showers are in the hallway, you just swipe in when vacant. The only complaint is that we could not control then thermostat and it got very hot in our room.
