Great Crash Pad !

The rooms are small but with the name Pod you expect that. Not in the most buzzing part of Manhattan, which was what I wanted but may not be what you do. Only about 5 mins walk from Grand Central and 15 mins to Time Square. For the price this is an excellent Manhattan hotel. If like me you just want a student some like experience to crash in and will otherwise enjoy the delights of NYC, this is a great hotel for you in midtown.

The hotel was clean, tidy, functional and great for a short stay. We actually recommended it directly to a friend who came and joined us there and also enjoyed their stay. The location was in easy access of most things.

A wonderful stay in a unique hotel

I’m now a fan of the Pod Hotels. This is our third stay. What is impressive is how cleverly space is used with thoughtful touches that make a guest feel welcome. On the whole, you know you are getting value for your money. Pod 39 is in a good location especially for those who enjoy exploring the city on foot or by public transit or a combination of both. We appreciated the warmth and courtesy of the staff who really wanted our stay to meet our expectations. This went a long way because in an older building little things can go awry for example, the wait for the elevator seemed long. But I also remember missing the weight of my blanket at home. The staff was quick to provide an extra one. It’s a nice option o be offered a free walking tour and free luggage storage after check out. The other Pod hotels are new construction. But I liked the midtown location of Pod 39, so close to Grand Central and an easy stroll to the Lexington subway. Pod hotels are not luxe but they are good value. I would recommend them highly.

Great value stay in NYC

Small, clean, efficient place to stay convenient to midtown manhattan. It is loud but what else would you expect in midtown manhattan. The location feels very safe and despite the name of the hotel, rooms are private and there is even a lounge area with water, tea and coffee in the morning. Great for the price.

Overall a very pleasant experience. Conveniently located for my needs with coffee available from 7 am. Rooms were cozy but I don’t visit NYC to spend time in the room other than to sleep. Only negative was a glass of wine one evening which was $18.50– I thought it was a bit excessive.

I heart the Pod!

I love the value that the Pod hotels offer. A good location, great price, and rooms that while small, are brilliantly designed for comfort and convenience. Pod 39 is a few blocks from Grand Central Station so it’s easy to get to and from JFK. Plus the Murray Hill location has excellent shopping and dining. Bonus- free coffee in the morning!

Clean, small rooms, and great location.

The rooms are not that big but the place is really clean, the staff is great and helpful! Plus they can take care of yojr luggage free of charge before and after checking in.

There was no laundry for guests

Stayed in the bunk pod and the room was perfect. We just needed a place to stay for 6 days and Pod 39 exceeded all expectations! Whenever I come back to NY I’ll be sure to stay here again!

This is my favorite POD. I do alway get a room with a private bath because I feel it's worth the price.

Room was very clean, small but that was all I needed.

It was a great place to stay-6 minutes from grand central everywhere was walkable. We had accessible restaurants and breakfast spots around the corner. We felt very safe. Would recommend

Great location with easy access to Grand Central Station, the New York Public Library and Times Square. Plenty of eating options within a block radius and great amenities at the hotel itself. Well worth the stay and would definitely go back.

Our New York Pod!

The Pod 39 is ok if you just need a place to stay and shower. The room is small,so not a lot of room to move around. The service is good. They keep the room and barhroom clean and there is always fresh towels and daily house keeping. The location is good too! Close to most major spots that we want to go. Overall, we got a good stay!

Throughout the night we were woken up by (a) the buzzing of a very loud hvac system and (b) constant temperature shifts from too cold to too hot, which made for an exhausting interruptive sleep; the shower pressure was extraordinary low

Really warm. Cozy room everything you needed to come back to after a busy day in the city. Staff lovely and helpful.

Small but clean

The Room was clean but small. The bed placement was difficult, as I kept banging my leg trying to get into it. We had a room facing the street, so it was a bit noisy.

Very convenient shops //trains //just was very easy to be around times square area and downtown Manhattan and just few stops with F train or others.

Solid place for a short stay

Great location, near Grand Central Station. The rooms are tiny, which I knew. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean. The single bed was small - would've been too small if I were 6' or taller.

Everything was good Staff helpful

The only two things I don’t like. The first one being the noises around the hotel. They don’t settle into late in the night. The other thing is the hiding fee of being there daily. That wasn’t nice since one is already paying a lot. I haven’t seen it in other hotels.

Small room but clean

Let’s go back to our closet, I said to my grandson as we approached our room. He replied, at least it’s a walk-in closet! That’s pretty much it.

Very nice staff and accomodating. Clean towels and bed sheets every night. Some outlets not working, some channels not stable or cutting out and not able to cast to display from mobile device.

Nice hotel in Midtown East

The Pod 39 was an excellent choice, and I really enjoyed the coziness of the room for my two nights stay. The rainfall shower was amazing, and the room was well lit. All staff were nice and friendly, and the halls were very quiet.

Always a great stay. Rooms are tiny yes but who goes to the greatest city in the world to stay in a hotel room. Cleanliness is a must for me and this hotel is always super clean. The desk agents are always very personable and helpful. Location is amazing.

the kindness of the staff,who did an excellent job helping us (reservation, front desk), I felt secure with them, I felt good in our small, clean, and functionnal room,bath room, everything was clean, working well. A typical NYC building, 10' walk from Gran Station, plenty of transportation there, 20' walk from the Empire Sate Building...wonderfully located. I had meetings up on East 42nd Street. I had little time to spend on anything other than those meetings, so I did not need expansive services or a palatial room. I just needed a safe, clean, quiet place, one close top my meeting locations, to rest and that was what Pod 39 provide - central location, with a great staff and a great room at a great price, especially in Manhattan! Love this hotel.

Great stay!

I've stayed at this hotel several times. As the name implies the rooms are small but they're also clean and efficiently designed. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel is conveniently located near Grand Central Terminal and other popular mid town Manhattan destinations. I'll probably be staying at Pod 39 again.

Property was nice and so were the staff. The elevators are always busy, would recommend planning for the long wait times to get from and to your room.

It was the perfect location to get everywhere we wanted to visit. The staff were helpful. The beds and linens were very comfortable.

Stayed at Pod 39 for 4 nights. Location was perfect to visit places of interest. Staff were super friendly and helpful with advice on how navigate in New York. Free coffee available in the morning and other items were for purchase. Water station available to fill water bottles. We arrived early and our luggage was stored for free. Rooms are cleaned daily with a fresh supply of towels. They also offer free tours of the city. The only issue I had was that the room doors needed to be cleaned. Overall I felt the place safe with easy access to Grand Central subway.

Great stay!

Great experience experience overall and certainly good value for money. The only thing that was slightly problematic was the air conditioning kicking in when used overnight.

I liked the reception!

The reception was very polite and nice. Always a plus when I just arrive. Everything was good and cosy and everyone was nice. They even offered to have me keep my luggage. They sent text informing me of the details. Only downside I'd say is that in the room, there is little privacy in bathroom, I had a friend come in who wanted to use the bathroom but privacy was not best.

Great location. Rooms are small and could be a tad cleaner.

Lot of noise in the hall (loud music) but this is the only minus point. Personnel is kind, room is clean, quiet, perfect. A table, a bed, toilet, shower. Even we were close of the lift, the noise wasn't a problem at all. Bonus, they have a deal with a Parking close to the hotel ! We will be back !

My Favorite Crash Pad: the Pod

My go-to place for a quick stay in NYC. Near Grand Central Station. Also great for longer stays if you want to know your property is secure while exploring the city all day.

Great location. The hotel was clean with great staff.

The rooms are tiny but clean. Towels are small and not plush. The air vent in the barhroom cannot be turned off and you hear it all night as well as it gets extremely loud at times, waking you up in the middle of the night.

Good value. Bare bones hotel but at a good price. Very walkable to midtown and East River with ferries available. I would definitely stay here again. My one complaint is the waste of cups and paper plates in the morning restaurant. They do not recycle these products. Odd for NYC.

Great service, clean & great location. Room is small but okay for one or two nights. Was able to leave bags in storage after check out and the staff were wonderful.

I'm very satisfied with the hotel's tidiness and cleanliness, but the soundproofing isn't very good.

Everything went smoothly. Staff was there for me. My husband left his computer mouse on the bed and it was picked up by the maid who came to get the sheets. But it returned to us when we inquired at the front desk.

It is quite literally a pod. It was very squishy but it was a good stay. Staff was very polite and checking in was very easy :)

Prior to checking in, the staff were very helpful and answering all my questions and concerns. I was greeted by friendly staff upon arrival and they were accommodating to all of my requests. I would definitely book a room here in the future
