Quality hotel, food and Staff

Convenient off-road parking at the rear. Good choice of evening meals, really top quality meal and breakfast. Good size room which was very clean and well presented. Staff customer service above and beyond expectations. Highly recommended and will return for another visit.

Very nice hotel

Great refuge during the recent Storm Darragh. Staff particularly Joe, very friendly and helpful. Food excellent and very generous portions. Room very comfortable although showing some signs of wear & tear. Bed very comfy. Would stay again if visiting Bala. Thank you.

The hotel was excellent - warm, cosy, excellent food, excellent service, great rooms, well decorated and very clean. You just can't fault anything!

Lovely hotel

The hotel was incredibly reasonably priced, we were pleasant surprised at how lovely it was. The room was warm and spacious with a huge bed, the furniture was solid work and great quality. The bathroom was clean and everything worked perfectly. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and we were served by a really polite and friendly waiter. Overall I couldn’t recommend enough.

Nice stay

It was pretty good, it was a little loud as you could hear music in the room, but other than that, it was perfectly lovely for a business stay

Two days in late summer

Very good accomodation. Spotless throughout. Friendly and efficient staff. Great food on offer plus a fine selection of drinks. Close to town amenities, plus very handy for lake and the activities associated with it

Wollaston couple.

Absolutely brilliant hotel. Lovely atmosphere. Room was excellent, clean, bright lovely view. Dinner was excellent, great food, great service. Staff can’t do enough for you. Breakfast was just as good. Again brilliant staff. Parking was great at rear of hotel, even had our space reserved with our name on the space. Check in to check out was a pleasure. Highly recommend this brilliant hotel. Great location.

A Little gem find

They upgraded me to their superior room which was nice of them. Lee and the staff were helpful and very friendly. The menu was good and my evening meal was really good, I didn’t have breakfast. Nicely touch with the name sign for parking. 10 minute walk to the lake up the road was good at the end of the day!

We only stayed for one night, but the room was lovely, as was the breakfast. All in all very nice .

Beautiful escape

Check in was quick and easy. Room was cute, cosy and comfortable. Food was unbelievably good!! Breakfast each morning was lovely, but the evening meal was on a whole other level! Absolutely recommend! Staff were kind and helpful! We’ll be back 🙃

Worth the 5-stars

We loved our one-night stay in Bala. The family room we stayed in was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Despite being on the main road, it was surprisingly quiet from around 10pm. Good night’s sleep, delicious breakfast and welcoming staff. We would definitely stay again.

A last minute trip and thoroughly enjoyed the overnight stay. Dinner Bed and Breakfast were exceedingly good.

Single traveller very impressed

Room was very well maintained to a high standerd. room was small but this was ok as only ever used for a single guest. Breakfast cooked to order and was a generous portion. A good selection of evening meals cooked well and a reasonable price. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall would recommend and will hopefully stay again at some time.

A nice stay. The room was large and comfortable. The restaurant was very good.

3.5 stars at best. Comfortable, but housekeeping did a terrible job. Only one room key. Staff never apologized for any issues (not guest focused). Food extremely average. Had to beg for boiling water from the bar for tea as their hot water machine was luke warm. Harassed by housekeeping to leave my room 30 minutes before our agreed upon late checkout time with the manager. We were told to “get on our way.” Osian was the best of the bunch with a smile and greetings all weekend.

Clean. Fairly quiet and in the center of nice Bala area. Staff friendly and breakfast was great. Recommend

Have stayed here several times and always found it a great place to stay staff are great food is fantastic if I had to pick fault our bathroom door needed a bit of maintenance it did not fit properly

Fabulous stay

We really enjoyed the weekend at the hotel. We were met by a very friendly receptionist who was able to offer us advice of where to go and visit. The rooms were comfortable and had a selection of toiletries. Would highly recommend eating supper there as the food is amazing and caters for all tastes . We would definitely stay here again. If you plan to eat your evening meal you need to book.

Really impressive

Immensely impressed with this small hotel. Friendly and efficient check-in service. A simply wonderful "Sunday Roast" for our Sunday evening dinner - though you will need a large appetite - and extraordinarily helpful service. We had struggled to get the heating on in our room, but this was sorted out with great patience and efficiency. And at breakfast, we had exceptionally good service. Couldn't have asked for more. Sure - it's not luxurious, but it was friendly, quiet, efficient and the food was superb. Recommended

Complimentary wine was a nice touch. Cute, comfy room. Easy access to bus.

Nice rooms and nice hotel - no complaints

The rooms are very spacious, especially for a twin share. There did appear to be (what looked like) black dog hair in the bathroom. Complimentary wine was appreciated and whilst the Sunday roast was great, dinner on a week night was very ordinary

Excellent and really dog friendly.

The staff are so helpful, nothing was any bother which isn't always the case when you have dogs with you. The whole place is dog friendly with open access (except the kitchen of course) so really welcoming. Food is brilliant too, cooked freshly to order and a nice cosy bar to relax in. We will definitely go back again.

Great place to stay - would definitely recommend i

I booked a Superior room for a one night stay to attend parkrun on a Saturday morning. I received a very warm welcome on checking and was informed that I had a reserved parking space allocated to me at the rear of the property which was a really nice touch. I had Room 4 which had a large double comfy bed - dressing table wardrobe and a sofa and chair. Nice hospitality tray provided The room had an ensuite with a large walk in shower nice quality towels and toiletries Breakfast was included in the price and you'd be hard pressed not to find something to suit. Check out is 10am but I was able to leave my car in the parking spot till about 12. I didn't eat in the evening as I had arrangements already made. I found the Hotel and area around very quiet overnight too.

New Year stay.

Had an Amazing 3 night stay over New year at the plas. The rooms are very tasteful with lovely hot showers and very comfortable beds for a good nights sleep. Another highlight is the food which is absolutely succulent. I had my breakfast and evening meals there and it was faultless. The Plas team really make your stay, as the hospitality is spot on. All in all a fabulous 5 star stay in a 5 star hotel, and i will definitely return.

Great hotel, comfy, warm, clean and the rooms are a good size. Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was lovely and we ate there in the evening with a decent veggie choice. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic! We had such a lovely weekend (3 nights stay) for my husband’s birthday and the staff couldn’t have done more to make ours and especially our Leonberger, Chewie stay anymore relaxing. One of the most dog friendly hotels we have stayed in. Our room was so nice, plenty of room for us all. The food was great and the Sunday lunch was sooo nice & very filling. Thank you again 😀 we will be definitely be coming back

Friendly efficient check in. Room 6 was very spacious and had a great bathroom with huge walk in shower. Lovely area near the lake. Breakfast cooked to order and very good. Great find.

Great hospitality. Room clean and comfortable with tea & coffee making facilities, water and a tiny bottle of wine! Spacious bathroom with generous sizes of pump dispensed shampoo, shower gel and moisturiser. Room was a great temperature and quiet. Ate dinner in the dining room and service was warm and friendly with generous portions. Ditto Breakfast. A great space to stay in Bala.

Plas Yn Dre - highly recommendly

A++, from allocated parking to excellent front of house greeting , comfortable well decorated rooms and relaxed restaurant dining with tasty food. Complimentary wine and good weather....we thoroughly enjoyed our stay . We walked 1/2 around lake and took train back to Bala . Great base for exploring the area highly recommend hotel and the staff working their.

Fantastic stay , fabulous food!

Good correspondence before arrival detailing parking facilities and a warm welcome. Our room was very spacious with lots of lovely touches - a small bottle of red wine biscuits , tea/coffee still and sparkling water. Toiletries in the bathroom , a great walk in shower and lovely comfy bed. The highlight though was the food , we had an evening meal and breakfast and both were excellent. Plenty of choice all presented very well and absolutely delicious. We would definitely recommend Plas Yn Dre and would stop again.

Amazing property and staff.

Hotel was lovely, parking space on arrival reserved for us which was a nice touch, bar staff, Lee, exceptional, warm and friendly, room was lovely, very large and clean. The highlight of this hotel is the restaurant, the food is the best we have had. If i had one criticism, it would be that they need more staff at breakfast, felt like the young lady that served us couldnt cope, we had to keep asking for things, ie butter for toast, its a pretty standard thing but it took 20 minutes, so everything was cold by the time we got it. Overall though, fantastic place and would definatley return.

Lovely place with excellent service. I arrived late due to unforeseen circumstances but was still welcomed and checked in with maximum efficiency. Lovely room and very good value for money.

A hidden gem

This place is a little gem and I'll definitely be visiting again I'm sure. I stayed for two nights and was annoyed that I'd not booked for more, really nice place with excellent staff. Breakfast was lovely on both days, I ate dinner there on one night and that was very nice as well.

Great service despite checking in late, free parking in the back, nice warm room (we were there in early October), yummy made-to-order food (pub menu looked good too), situated in a quaint small town with a mart that stays open late, felt very safe even when walking around past 22:00, and there’s a petrol station right in town. Nice overnight stay while visiting Snowdonia National Park.

This was the second time that I have stayed at Plas Yn Dre though the first time alone. My room was so comfortable and there was a complimentary half bottle of red wine 🍷for me 😊 Breakfast was really lovely and Staff member was so friendly and helpful can’t wait to stay there again in December 😊

What a great find! My room was spacious, comfortable, and modern with an amazing shower. Breakfast (included) and dinner in the restaurant were very tasty. Staff were so welcoming and treated me like a VIP.

This was the second time I’ve stayed here. Both times the room and service have been first class. Top food in the restaurant too and a nice variety of some good local beers in the bar. Next time I stay in Bala, I’ll be coming back here for a third time.

Really enjoyed our stay, two midweek nights in September. Checki-n was painless and the staff were brilliant. Loved the location in the centre of Bala and the room was spacious and very quiet. Loved it

Stayed for one night and will definitely be returning. I was in a single room which had a double bed. The room and en suite were lovely and clean. I ate in the restaurant in the evening with family and the food was amazing. Excellent choices and plenty of Gluten Free options available. The cooked breakfast in the morning was also amazing. All staff i came into contact with were very polite and helpful.

Welsh welcome

Comfortable room, delicious food, friendly atmosphere. But some of the staff did not understand or speak Welsh.

Everything was great about our stay. Friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us, clean and comfortable room (great shower), and delicious food. Free on site parking too. No complaints and nothing we didn’t like. 10 minutes walk to Bala Lake. Highly recommended.

Everything about our stay was excellent. We received a warm welcome and all the staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated. We ate in the pub for the 2 evenings of our stay as well as eating breakfast and the food was delicious and nicely presented. We would certainly stay there again.

Had a comfortable stay, clean well appointed room, staff were friendly and efficient. Enjoyed our dinner and breakfast, would recommend to anyone and would return if we were in the area again. My only ask, would be for an additional chair in the room or instead how about adding a small sofa at the end of the bed facing the tv.

Good small hotel

The hotel was good despite the covid restriction, staff were very friendly. Parking space reserved with our name in view and a small complementary bottle of wine for us to enjoy in our room. food was good, sadly no bar due to restrictions .

Good food but noisy

Nice friendly staff, clean and comfortable. The food is very good. Only issue is the fact that it’s on a main root so if you get a room at the front there is traffic noise.

Happy days and nights in Bala

A little over nighter with the wife and two dogs. Doggie bag with all kinds of treats and a blanket for the boys, huge bed and a bottle of red for us 😁 Food was plentiful and delicious and the beer was cold - perfect! All in all a great place to stay!

Anniversary weekend in Bala

We recently spent the night at Plas Yn Dre in Bala, the hotel was easy to find and the parking facilities excellent. We came for a night away to celebrate our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had the Executive room, room 7 on the top floor and found the room very comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. It was very quiet, very airy and we would recommend this room and the hotel to anyone considering a stay. Breakfast was lovely too!

The hotel was a lovely stop for two nights. The room was comfortable, but very warm in the nights. Staff were very helpful and pleasant, especially Chris who never went home!! Food in the evening was delicious, but having to order breakfast and the limited choice ( probably due to covid) was disappointing. However would definitely recommend and return should we visit Bala again.
