Beautiful property with all the amenities at your fingertips.
Location, cleanliness, amenities, beach, suites etc were all second to none.
This is an outstanding destination and property to stay at. As someone who is in the hotel business i recommend this hotel and resort to anyone
beautiful property, great room, clean, quiet, spacious, wondering staff, delicious breakfast, and absolutely stunning beach, great lunch place on the beach, only - oo many children, the hotel is huge and felt like we are in an all inclusive resort in Mexico - so prob great to be there w kids, but when traveling as a couple - next time will stay elsewhere,
Beautiful property
Great place that we have been coming to for over 20 years but it feels less personal than it used to as Marriott now run it
Pros - ocean suite room was great, family friendly, easy for buggy around resort, quality of food (breakfast and restaurants), great choice of restaurants, polite and friendly staff, clean room and resort. Cons - no one helped with taking luggage from/to taxi on arrival or departure, there is a charge for most things and be prepared to be told about it constantly - swimming caps for indoor pool, mini golf, parking, sun beds based on location, games room. Overall great experience but I did feel the luxury of a 5 star in all areas of the hotel.
Pine Cliffs was incredible. The resort is stunning. We got engaged there, which was the highlight of our trip. The resort is close to nearby towns, hiking trails and attractions in Algarve. Everything is a short taxi away or they have a rental car service on the property. It was very convenient for our trip to Lagos. An ideal location in between everything with its own private beach. Staff was very friendly. It was warm and perfect beach weather in April. Did not have to pay for chairs on the beach. Be warned that it is a family resort with lots of kids. If you are going as a couple you may not be into that. I would stay there again. If you are looking for fresh fish, go off resort. All resort restaurants are over priced for catch of the day 120€ pp. If you go in town (Albufeira or to marina), catch of the day is 20€ pp and amazing food. The resort has a market on the Main Street, which is very handy for buying drinks, quick snacks or sunscreen. Bonvoy members: you cannot get points for your stay by booking through Expedia. I would recommend booking direct through Marriott.
Fourth time stay even better
Great stay! Fourth time there with extended family.
The entire property was in pristine condition, the room, the spa, restaurants and all other public areas. My only regret is only being able to stay there for two nights due to a tight travel schedule. We have promised to return and stay on the property for an entire week!
Beautiful Family resort
The Ocean suites are brilliant. Pools are lovely. Facilities, beach, surroundings grounds are idyllic. It is perfect for a holiday with kids - so much to do and areas to wander around. Felt very relaxing. Hotel staff are lovely and helpful. Downsides - not much variety for food and restaurants within the resort. Half of them closed or you can’t get a reservation. All of the kids food was covered in salt and not much variety or healthy options. Also the staff in the fine dining restaurants (particularly o pescador where we ate twice) are not as friendly or helpful and service is not 5 star quality. But staff at breakfast and the cafe and within the hotel/reception are very lovely and helpful. Overall I would return and felt like it was very good value for money.
Amazing property! Amazing service!
Great location. Well maintained. Friendly staff.
This is a beautiful property with an amazing beach. The 2 bedroom was suite was perfect for the 4 of us. Several restaurants within walking distance.
Excellent experience but many things were closed during the off season
Beautiful resort very family friendly
Really enjoyed our stay here. Tons of stuff for the kids but still had a luxury hotel feel. We stayed in the Ocean suites 2 bedroom) and with the kids it was helpful to have the kitchen and washer/ dryer.
Great property
An excellent experience overall. The staff were amazing. The food was excellent. The amenities are top-notch. The view, by far is the highlight and the best.
Amazing!
It was such a beautiful resort to celebrate our anniversary. The property is located right off the cliffs and has a private access to the beautiful shores. Highly recommend this property and all the accommodations they offer!
Amazing location and facilities
A beautiful property with access to an amazing beach. In the off season so not many restaurants were open and the ones that were, weren’t the best and expensive.
Excellent time at the Ocean Suites, worth every penny!
I wouldn't say this is a 5 star hotel. Certainly not a £420 a night hotel.
Great for young kids
Heaven for families!! We have an under 2 year old and it had great facilities, even IT help with baby monitor, but the best was a massive lawn woth sun loungers where we could just spend a whole day in a shade of pine trees. Staff super nice too
Room service sometimes slow and forgetful, charged for ice :/ some of the restaurants weren’t open so little choice. Apart from that lovely hotel great beach access :)
This is a huge property with many activities available on-site for families of all ages to enjoy. The rooms are generous in size although the in-room amenities (like towels and coffee pods) were only sporatically supplied. We visited in the brief window of Portugal being a "green" country for the UK, so the hotel was still in the process of gearing up for such large crowds and the lack of staff was felt in certain areas. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant, for instance, was a zoo and best avoided. In general, the wait for any food and drink service was excessive, but at least the guests had a beautiful environment and lovely weather in which to wait. I would return.
Fab resort but needs better management
The resort is excellent, technically a small village. Great cliffs, beach and with plenty of greens. The rooms are comfy and large enough. Main problem in this visit was the resort wasnt built to cope with so many people. It was packed and was almost impossible to get a table in any of the restaurants. I felt really sorry for the waiters who were running around like headless chicken to meet the demand. The breakfast que remind me of communist era people queing to buy simple goods. It was clear the number of facilisties didnt meet the demand to some extent due to understaffing. Another issue was reception staff, many struggled with english and we were given wrong information on few occasions.
Location and great restaurants! Shame they couldn’t provide English newspapers though!
This place was far too busy. It did not have sufficient sun loungers. They charged 90 Euro’s for a sun lounger in the beach. Food in restaurants was poor except for the Japanese restaurant. One to be avoided
Exceeded our expectations. This was our first visit to Pine Cliffs and we are already planning to go back.
Amazing stay
What an amazing resort! The staff were lovely. They catered to our every need. The room (which we upgraded upon arrival for a fee) was clean, modern and comfortable. There was an issue with the bathroom sliding door but was fixed within 10minutes. Room service, although pricy, was great. The beach is amazing and only 5 minutes from the Ocean Suites resort. The spa is great! Prices are on the high side. Only thing that can be slightly improved is the breakfast. Although there was variety, it isn't the best breakfast I've ever had. And a long walk away! But that's being picky.
Very good resort! It's fantastic for family
Awesome! Couldn’t be better!! Impeccable rooms, the amazing food, the well designed outdoors, the cliffs/ beach, the water ... just awesome!! Coming back soon!!!
Very friendly, polite and courteous staff throughout. Made our 18 m daughter feel v special and welcome.
Large quiet room with a view of the pool and golf course. The walk to the beach and the sunset over the cliffs are breathtaking. However, we were surprised to see that the private beach was so cramped. Also, the food was very expensive and not very good compared to local restaurants.
Let me first start by saying that there is no doubt that the property is beautiful and that the facilities are consistent with what you would expect from a luxury resort. However, the staff is inattentive and scarce. Additionally the food prices at the resort are almost 5x-8x higher than even the highest-end luxury restaurants in Portugal. We had dinner for 4 at the piri piri steak house and spent nearly 460 euros. Having spent time in Lisbon and Porto before our arrival, we had become well-versed with the expected prices in Portugal; and there is no other way to say it, the food at the resort is a rip off! Had the food been something spectacular I would not have cared as much, but the food is mediocre at best. My feeling is that it’s a good place to stay and relax but do not buy anything from there. Another example is the 50 euro bottle of sunscreen I bought from the pharmacy there. As I said, buy nothing from there!
Staff very friendly. Desorganized and messy breakfast at the two options included.
Beautiful property and great staff. Service at restaurants needs work. Also pools are not heated and are quite cold for kids.
This s a stunning resort in every regard
The accommodation was super and suited our needs. However, we were disturbed daily from the noise and the view of the building site within 20 metres of our room and the pool area. There was a crane in use several times daily and there was a constant noise and disturbance from grinders, power tools and cement mixers throughout the working day. The hotel staff were pleasant when we voiced our concerns about the health and safety aspects of the disturbance and our concerns over health and safety when the crane arm was swinging over into the pool area. However, they did nothing about it and worse more never thought it important enough to advise us prior to our visit. We should have had the option to move to alternative premises rather than have to put up with the disturbance which rather ruined our holiday.
Hotel was excellent and staff lovely just a few details missing but overall was fantastic!
Great suite annex to main hotel - great facilities in room and really perfect for our young son to play and explore. 2 bedroom suite was good for 4 adults and a toddler, but probably not more than that. Beach lovely, many swimming pools across the resort. Play park for children was a little basic I felt but okish - looks better than is online. Great family resort overall would def go back 100%.
Nice location - rest very average
Nice garden concept and beach. Building / rooms w/o any charm - business like. Restaurants very average - &no good restaurant on the property
Really beautiful room and facilities. Good restaurants just outside of main gates. The breakfast buffet had lots of choice. The children’s playground is excellent. The food in the fish restaurant was very average. Two complaints - none of the pools are heated and were unusable. The path to the main gate is uneven and dangerous. Not great for children (or adults!) and walking in the road not so safe. We had a great time and will definitely return. Likely later in June so the pool water isn’t ice cold!
Simply amazing
I had a perfect break with my wife and 8 month old daughter. We stayed in a 1 bed Ocean suite which was well equipped and fantastic quality. Perfect for a small baby as we were previously apprehensive, the hotel provided a good quality cot and high chair for our daughter and we were able to use the balcony to relax during naps. The kitchen was perfect for cooking during the evenings. We also utilised the in room baby sitting service one night which was excellent. My wife and I took the time to relax at the champagne bar, have cocktails at the lobby bar and visit the steakhouse. I can highly recommend the rack of lamb. The restraurants and bars are pricey as you would expect but if you’re looking for something simpler there are a handful of local snack bars just outside the front gates of the resort so you can choose as you please. The kids facilities are excellent and we look forward to visiting again next year and hopefully our daughter will be able to enjoy more of the park and recreations. Finally, as an avid gym goer the gym is as good as a commercial gym and running on the beach in the morning as the sun rises is spectacular.
best hotel
the best hotel experience. The staff were so nice and helpful throughout and the food was excellent
Another relaxing family vacation at Pine Cliffs
We have stayed 2 years in a row in the Ocean Suites at Pine Cliffs. Family of 5 with young girls. Resort facilities are wonderful with plenty of pools or the beach to choose from. Family did group tennis lessons each morning and staff at the tennis centre are great with the kids. They did kids club one day which they enjoyed but my main gripe with Pine Cliffs is there is a charge for the Kids Club which is quite unusual other than with kids <4 which ours are not. Decent range of restaurants open family friendly hours and good kids menus. Staff generally very helpful and accommodating. Only one pool which is temperature controlled which can get quite crowded with families looking for a spot where the children can stay in the pool for longer periods, particularly if you are earlier or later in the season when the water is quite cold. Spa is quite expensive (even for resorts) but they do have a therapist who is a qualified osteopath and helped tremendously with a back problem I had so worth the pricing in this instance. Breakfast can get very hectic/crowded and it would be nice to have other options than the main hotel for that - ideally they should have built a separate breakfast area for the Ocean Suites. WiFi in one part of our adjoining room didn't work very well but otherwise good and included in room. So a few niggles like any resort but overall a wonderful place to stay with a young family and we all had a fabulous, relaxing stay.
Best hotel in the Algarve
Can't fault this place. Everything was top drawer...
Amazing hotel, the best in the area!
This was our first time in Portugal. After two days of research I booked this hotel as it looked amazing. We entered the resort we were blown away by how amazing the scenery was. We carried on driving towards the Ocean suites and I was really happy I booked this hotel. It looked beautiful. As we entered the doors and approached the reception we could smell the cleanliness of the place. The staff were lovely and although our check in was at 4pm, we got to the hotel at 11:30am and we had requested an early check in which we though would be highly unlikely to receive. To our surprise the staff had our room ready for us we were so happy, this meant we could freshen up before we headed out. We had staff help us to our room with our luggage. Our room was just amazing! I was so glad I booked the ocean view ... it was the best room on the resort. We were blown away by the views! We forgot about how tired we were and just loved the view of the balcony. Overall the staff were really kind and friendly. Hotel was super clean. Bed was comfy. Views were amazing. Definitely you get what you pay for. Quality 👌🏼
Easter Holiday
The staff at reception / ocean suites pool were excellent. We booked this holiday last minute due to the weather being very good before Easter however the hotel was fully booked and even though we wanted to pay for a bigger room their simply were none available. Now for the honest and transparent truth. This is not a 5 star hotel resort, not even close. I am a very selective when it comes to holidays as I work extremely hard as we all do, to enjoy my 1 or 2 holidays per year therefore when I book a 5 star hotel - I expect the quality and service. The best comparison I can give this resort is Center Parcs - which is great if you want to visit the resort to play golf, tennis etc etc. The resort is massive and is split between 2 hotels and numerous apartment complexes with numerous pools and restaurants. However we did not a lot of individuals their to be very stuck up and rude which is ironic given my opinion of this place. The hotels and roads throughout the resort are not particularly child (pushchair) friendly and therefore you have to take in-direct routes to get to your destination in the complex. The journey to the beach is not ideal for babies as you have to get a lift down to the boardwalk and then its a good 200 metres down further steps to get to the beach. The beach is great and the water very nice, however the sun-loungers are crammed together and you literally are cm's away from the next guests - not great at all. We definitely will not be going back.

Nice location but with some service issue
The rooms are very nice and quite new. We were positively impressed about it. However, we had an issue with heating system, the heating system did not work for our entire stay and the service was not able to fix it in one of our room. We were expecting the hotel to provide us another room but they never even mentioned this possibility. Because of that my kids slept on a cold room for 2 nights. Also at the check out moment, the hotel did not mention the situation. This is not a behavior that you expect from a 5 starts hotel.
