Fun place celebrating history.
The fireside cabin had gravel and mud in the carpet in the room. We had to move to the main hotel to avoid stepping in all the mess. The main hotel room was nice but didn’t get vacuumed when the room was serviced. Breakfast was free and very basic.
the room was spectacular, very nice and clean.
Have stayed here many times over the years and have always enjoyed my stay with no issues. That being said this time i stayed in room 314 for the 1st time and Cannot say i was happy with the toilet placement in this room. Have never had this issue in any other room but i think someone messed up on measurements and placement. It is all but right on top of the sink counter top and uncomfortable to use. Lol. Just saying, it really is.
Good
Love this place!! Stay here for a true Alaska experience!!
An unexpected gem.
Great stay. Convenient to everything
Good
We had an enjoyable stay at Pikes. There was a fire next door, which limited our meals, but only for a short period of time, a day or so. They brought it into the lodge with a very good limited menu, where we enjoyed lunch and dinner. The halibut and chips were delicious!!! Considering that most people staying here in the winter are there for the Northern Lights, it would be nice if there was a brunch option available to purchase. Housekeeping doing their rounds first thing after getting "home" at 2/3a.m. was also a little annoying. We had the privacy sign on the door so we could sleep, and it seemed like after 10 a.m., housekeeping was no longer available, so we didnt get a cleaning until I asked after 4 days and even then, our toilet rolls and coffee items were not replenished. If you're there in the winter months, always call before you head out for a meal. We paid $20 for an Uber, only to get there, and the restaurant didn't open until later. We then had to stand in the cold, call another Uber, and find somewhere to go............. $$$$ Overall, we had a good stay and would stay again.
Property is historically unique Very warm and friendly
amazing and cozy place for stay, even a couple good atractions there!!
Best hotel in Fairbanks. Filled with history and delightful people. A feast for the eyes. You will be reading the Alaskian information on the walls hallway while enjoying the wonderful location and lodge activities.
The restaurant was a delightful surprise. They had a delicious chowder and memorable peanut butter chocolate pie at a reasonable price.
Was a great place to stay with a group of friends. Breakfast was decent/good. I had an ice cream available for purchase at a reasonable price in the evening and staff was very helpful. Would like to come and stay in the cabins in the summertime.
Views of Chena River
The location is very good , close to the airport and city center . The free shuttle to and from airport is great . Rooms are clean . The bed is comfortable and cabins are more romantic than the main building. The only thing that needs improvement is the breakfast . The restaurant close to the hotel is a good one .

Nice people, good service and fun location
Service was very good and property had fun attractions especially about the northern lights and the Alaskan art work! The property is not new but it was well maintained and clean.
Love Pikes Landing! Riverfront cabins are the best!
The hotel was rustic and pleasant. My family and I enjoyed plenty of fun activities on the property, including a reindeer park, a small theater showing images of the Northern lights, and an educational exhibit about Aurora Borealis, among others.
Need to improve food quality in dining room
The hotel is very cozy. I like the board games playing area and the dining room overlooking the river. What i dont like is the food in the dining room. I like how they have aurora wake up call.
You can be as private or as social as you want. Lots of really cute amenities use and social events.
Great place to stay. The hotel has lots of history documented on the walls in pictures. The hotel itself has lots to offer - library, northern light viewing room, etc. I would stay again.
We felt like we were staying at a hunting lodge! It was beautiful!
When the shuttle driver saw that my son had a CPAP, he called ahead to the front desk to have distilled water for us when we arrived. The staff was just as attentive in all aspects of our stay.
Everything here was convenient, from the shuttle to and from airport to on site rent a car. Which did come in handy as I did not come in with the thought of even renting a car. I learned that when I rented a taxi to go to the museum. By the time I paid for the taxi and a tip I could’ve just rented a car. I ended up renting a car for 24 hours and I did a trip down to the north pole and did some hiking around the area , if you want to explore the Fairbanks area on your own it’s not walkable from Pikes. I ended up staying in the Aurora side cabins. I had a wonderful trip thank you.
Absolutely the best FREE breakfast I have ever had!
All staff go out of their way to provide what you need. I love this place; been here 7 times. I will return
Very unique property. Great signage and artwork. Outdoor fire pits.
The staff was amazing. They even provided distilled water for my son's CPAP. The location was perfect. Very close to the airport but not more than 10 minutes away from many restaurants and sights.
We really enjoyed our stay at Pike’s. They have a hearty breakfast every morning and ice cream social in the evening. It was helpful because we had a chance to chat with other guests to find out what activities they’ve enjoyed and which restaurants are the best. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that There was a slight scent of sewage coming up from the pipes in our bathroom. I don’t know if there’s anything they could do about that. They also have a little science center outside, explaining the northern lights, ice sculptures, and reindeer over by the restaurant. There was lots of local area art inside the common areas.
Very nice property. Shuttle service was excellent.
Beautiful area but definitely need to rent a car bc no where to closely walk to. Cabin was great though & friendly staff.
Love Pike's waterfront lodge. There is a shuttle service to the airport at Any time! The staff is very friendly, the gift shop is open 24 hrs (next to the check in counter) and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. I loved the free continental breakfast especially the waffle maker (one of the amenities I look for in booking rooms). There are also cabins on site besides the hotel rooms. Love this place! I would definitely book again if given the opportunity.
This place is very popular and that popularity is ruining the place. Every time I talked to a staff member they would tell me they were full and refuse any request I made. Basically telling me I didn't matter. I will not stay here again.
It was a great stay and the complimentary breakfast is quite nice. The location is convenient to the airport but I didn’t feel oppressed by airplane noises either.
This property needs to be update. The bed sheets get change if you are staying 4 days not less which I did not like. Breafast area needs more table to sit as 1 day we have to sit in the sofas to eat not nice.
Pleasant and unique place to stay with alot of charm and interesting history of the area and paintings are nice to look at. Happy with our stay. The breakfast was amazing.
5mns from the airport, convenient and comfortable. A good landing place when you arrive late in Fairbanks. Breakfast is ok. Front desk friendliness can vary with arrival times. We stayed there twice and will do so again when visiting Fairbanks
Great facility and, lovely staff. Had a great time looking for the norther lights.
Pike's is a comfortable and convenient lodge. We enjoyed walking around the property and exploring the aurora discovery center, reading about the Iditarod, and visiting the reindeer. The only negative was the breakfast setup. On the last day of our stay, there was a private function in the main dining area and we could not find anywhere to sit down to eat. I was so frustrated and angry, and we ended our trip on a sour note. Hopefully, management will reconsider hosting functions during breakfast or will provide additional seating elsewhere in the lodge.
Best location, great food
The art and Alaska history in the hotel and complimentary breakfast was very good.
Stayed in cabin. Very roomy/cozy for one person. Only one restaurant on property. Free buffet. But definitely need to rent a car bc not able to walk to other stores/restaurants/ establishments. Far from everything
Comfortable stay, we were at the Cabin. Dining option available close by, also got calls for the aurora lights. Worth the price.
I love a themed hotel, a lot of fun activities to do
I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. The entire Lodge and facilities were excellent. Look forward to coming back next March
Nice place to stay
Cabins
When we arrived our room was not ready, so we stored our luggage and ate at the restaurant. Our experience there was not that great. The cabin wasn't what we expected. It was nice, but the kitchen part of the cabin was really tiny. The refrigerator door was backwards, so i was hard to look in it. The coffee maker and cups were really small. I had to ask for more coffee from the front desk. The shower pressure was not that strong and the water was not that hot. We had a hard time changing the channel on the television. We thought it was the battery but the front desk said we had to hold down the button on the remote control until the channel changed. It was really frustrating. A nice touch to the place was coffee in the lobby and breakfast. The fire place by the cabins were really nice as well. If it wasn't cloudy we probably would be able to see the aurora borealis. Also, Pikes is not located in a walking distance from a Fred Meyers (an all in one store) or anything.
Cute, clean rooms with fridge, mic, and coffee machine. Lots of fun, simple activities like a theatre, a sweet little library, giant globe with interactive science screens, reindeer, restaurant next door, free parking, photo ops, aurora wake-up call. Too warm for safe sledding and a couple of things were undergoing renovation, but still so much to offer guests that I have probably forgotten some of them.
Group Trip
Staff was amazing. On-site activities were great!
Only stayed short time but was perfect place for this - very friendly very interesting place airport shuttle - only check in is quite late @4pm but otherwise fantastic
It was nostalgic.
gret staff ,especially Andrea and Stephanie
A little down at the edges. Recommend upgrading the linens to something more modern.
Why would you stay at a boring chain hotel when you can stay here? Such a unique place! We stayed in a room in the main lodge, but they have cabins and other accomodations, with more being built. Our room was "cozy" but clean, comfortable, and everything was in good condition. In addition, there's so much to do here! There's a sledding hill, an Aurora theatre, a heated Aurora viewing room, fire pits (you can get s'mores kits there or bring your own) and they are constantly adding something new. Not to mention a great included breakfast (at least when we were there in the winter). And the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. They'll even call you if the Aurora are active. The shuttle is free, and available 24/7. Also, you would think that you might hear the airplanes being so close to the airport, but I never heard them once in the week we were there. I ever find myself in Fairbanks again, I will definitely be back.
We came to chase the northern lights for a week, and Pikes was a good base for us to do that. Everything you need is close at hand and it's a nice comfy facility. If we come up next year to do the same thing we would definitely stay there again
We stayed in a cabin and the location was quiet and private. Wifi was not too reliable, and amenities were good too. Some things could’ve been cleaner but we liked the convenience of breakfast airport transfers included
Good
Old worn out… needs a BIG FACELIFT!!
Rustic lodge feel, great staff!
Convenient from the airport and shuttle was ready even after hours.
Peaceful
Good stay
My only complaint is that the room was too cold
Loved the cozy, lodge feel. Rooms were clean. Beds comfortable. And the breakfast was pretty good.
The property was very well kept.
It’s a nice place with a number of things to see and do on site. Unfortunately if you don’t have a car you’re stuck with their dining choice. Breakfast was great. But dinner and lunch menu is limited and expensive.
Awesome place to stay in Fairbanks when chasing auroras. Super close to the airport making it easy to manage rental cars. Breakfast is fab ! Evening icecream is fun and in general a great place to park your stay.
TV and blow dryer didnt work. After notifying the front desk, they brought me a blow dryer and fixed the TV. People in the hallways were pretty loud. Bed was not that comfortable. Also, the restaurant closed at 10 and there was not much around for late night eats which was disappointing.
People were wonderful. Cabin was cozy. Restaurant service was amazing and food was good
Room was good beds were hard
I love staying at Pike’s Waterfront Lodge! The staff are friendly, the rooms are comfortable and clean, they welcome pets and the location is perfect!
I stayed in one of the cabins and they are wonderful. It's a beautiful location and I can't wait to go back!
Rooms were comfy and quiet. The hotel has lots of interesting art in the public area as well as some free activities available such as an Aurora Center and movie, a mini library, and I think during non-winter months additional options which were not available during our winter stay unfortunately. They had a limited breakfast which did include some hot items like chicken tenders to go with your waffles which I appreciated!
Very comfortable
Very comfortable and decor was very Alaska. A very pleasant space.
This place was amazing. Rooms are clean, and nice size. They have activities on site for year round. A new thing have added is the reindeer on site. Already planning the next trip there with the family.
Cabin #1 was absolutely perfect! It was right in the very frozen Chena River. The back of the cabin opened up to a large area that was very private. The location was perfect for seeing the Northern Lights. Staff was great! The restaurant that is a short walk away was great! Food, beverages & customer service were superb! Recommended 10/10.
It was great
Great hotel to stay at again and again.
Room was clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Room girls came once a day to see if you needed anything. Just tell them what you need, and they hand it to you, no need for them to enter rooms anymore unless you need a good cleaning. Great idea I thought.
After landing in Fairbanks at 1am it's nice to have a 1.5 mile drive to your bed. The rooms are nice and I loved the furniture. Breakfast was good. The waffle makers were a bit of a pain in the neck but a mangled waffle tastes the same as a beautiful golden waffle. There a good restaurant on site.
Hotel - clean room, good staff. Restaurant - staff was attractive but not very competent. Almost $2 for extra ranch dressing.
The property was a very unique experience. There was plenty there to explore and keep you busy. Staff was friendly and ready to help. The rooms were clean and comfy. Bartender was amazing.10/10 would recommend to stay here. I wish we would have stayed longer.
Beautiful property and nice people and services
This was a great stay for coming into Fairbanks on a late flight. The shuttle was reliable, the room was cozy, and the breakfast was great!
Was great
So much to do here.
Best Hotel/Lodge we have ever stayed at!
The staff is absolutely amazing
I loved the river view behind and the convenience of having a watch area for the Aurora.
Very pleasant atmosphere. Staff were all very helpful and kind. Clean.
It was an excellent place to stay.
Nice
loved the all the information, painting and pictures.
Fun place with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Cozy hotel with nice activities. Reindeer live on the property, snow tubing area, amazing breakfast with gluten free options. Staff are excellent and very accommodating.
Always Wonderful
We love staying here, it truly is a friendliest hotel ever, it's truly Alaskan in ambiance, wonderful collection of Alaskan art in the lobby and dining area. The shuttle from the airport is always Timely. The staff that greets you at the counter is wonderful. My only disappointment is that they have removed the steam room, and will replace be replacing it with red light therapy, which is going to cost an extra charge. Evidently the steam room had issues of leaking that they could not resolve, so the decision was to take it out, and replace it with a different type of therapy. I will miss being able to go into the stream room after time out in minus degrees, and being able to warm my core. It will remain to be seen if red light therapy can deliver the same such comfort. The breakfast here are better than most places who offer breakfast included, and they let their breakfast hours run till 10:00 a.m., knowing that many of their clients have been up all night chasing the Northern Lights. We highly recommend Pikes Waterfront to all of the folks we meet who are thinking of doing a trip to Fairbanks, whether it be summer or winter

Everything was 5-stars! My only critiques involved the room condidtions. The cleaning staff was incredible and kept everything looking spiffy. The only problems were that the walls are rather thin, so i could hear my neighbors when I had them; and the shower head was barely functional and in need of replacement. Thank you for taking such good care of me while I stayed.
