Everyone was welcoming, helpful, and nice.
Very welcoming front desk , great staff. Nice and confortable bedroom, great location.
The hotel is quiet, laid back and unique in each room's decor. They staff was readily available to meet and exceed any requests we made. I loved thatnit seemed centrally located to sitesnand shoppimg. Meriem was such a great manager. I appreciated her smile and helofulness. All the staff were heloful and kind. I hope to visit Paris again and will definitely choose to stay here
Fantastic hotel right next to St Lazare train station, very quiet (I had a room on the back of the hotel)
Very helpful staff. Close to train station and Metro.
Staff was great for the most part. There’s a breakfast every morning that was nice. The few things we asked about were handled, but one major issue was asking to have the shower drain looked at in our room. It was completely blocked up and water running for one minute had it filled and overflowing onto the bathroom floor. This problem was never fixed. Also the air condition became stuck on the coldest setting and the room stayed at 60 degrees. It’s Right across the street from a major train station that is very convenient. It’s about a mile from from the louvre and further from other popular sites. The immediate area is not the nicest. The first thing we saw leaving the hotel was a man urinating in the adjacent square that was fairly dirty and undesirable. No notable restaurants in the immediate area but within a mile there is plenty. If your goal is to stay in the hotel a lot there is much better options. If your goal is to be close to sites there is much better options. If your goal is to catch an early train to Normandy there’s no better option.
Beyond expectations. The staff is very friendly. Miriam helped us with all our requests. The hotel offers free hot drinks and cakes between 2PM and 6PM. The room was clean with enough space.
I was perfectly satisfied with my stay at Philéas Lazare. I came to Paris for a conference held nearby and chose the hotel for its proximity and reasonable price. My stay was 7 nights. I was pleasantly surprised by my room, which was clean, quiet, comfortable, and large — much nicer than that of some colleagues who paid the same or more. The location is only 1 minute to Gare St-Lazare and the metro, with lots of shopping and cafes and restaurants close by. The street on which the hotel is located can be bustling at times, but the double-windows kept the room quiet when closed. I didn’t make use of services such as the Spa or breakfast or complimentary afternoon snacks and coffee, but everything looked good — and there was even nice live music in the lobby for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, particularly Meriem at the front desk, who greeted me by name and with a happy smile every time I saw her. I was warned to expect my Paris hotel to be like those of New York or London — very small rooms for a very high price — but this hotel exceeded my expectations in every respect.
except cozy room (smaller than what I thought, but I am from USA, and london trip), everything was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic which had variety of options (bakery and coffee), and afternoon snack was also not expected, and great. Great location, and all staffs were very friendly and kind!
The staff was great. We loved our rooms. Breakfast was very good. Everything was amazing. Would definitely recommend it to others!
Great little Gem!
Lovely reception team! Thank you so much for making our stay so pleasurable! Nothing was too trouble… booking taxis, recommending a place to eat and making a booking for us and bringing fresh milk to our room for tea! Thank you !
Right next to a large train station and lots of convenient shops. Rooms were clean and well presented. Staff were superb and very helpful. Family of 4 we booked joining rooms which was convenient and the kids loved their own space.
Excellent hotel location to get around Oaris. Major Train station with lots of different lines is only 150m away and a taxi stand just outside the hotel
This hotel was fantastic. Visiting Paris from the US, we really wanted large beds for comfortable sleeping. This hotel accommodated 1 king, 1 queen, and 1 twin for our family of 4. It worked lovely. Directly across the street from a train station too! Wonderful area to be in while vacationing. Oh, and we had 2 full bathrooms as well. Not to mention the best hot wine during the holiday time in the lobby.
Very nice welcoming hotel. Nice room and good joined room accommodation for family of 5.
Custom service from Mariam was 110 percent. Great location next to Gare St. lLazare, afternoon tea was delicious. Nothing to complaint
The pictures they have this property are a bit misleading. The rooms do not look like the ones in the pictures. We rented a family room (rooms connected) we didn’t like the fact that one room was way smaller than the other. We also think the price is too expensive for the regular room that we had. Other than that the staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms were not too bad just a bit exaggerated on the pictures.
Very helpful staff
Although there was only 1 working lift which forced us to use the stairs, the person at the front desk (Mien) was extremely helpful and tried her best to accommodate our needs. So, I want to thank her for her help ! Will definitely return to this hotel in the future
Love the location at the hotel. The service was great when checking in. I had a balcony room with a small table which was great to enjoy coffee in the morning. He’s are comfortable.
STAFF WERE WONDERFULL. BREDFAST WAS SO GOOD. SUPER CLEAN AND NICE AEREA CLOSE TO SUB-ESTACION, GREAT DINNING AEREA.
Stayed for a week with my four kids, we had two rooms. I was very happy with my stay, the hotel was very clean and well maintained. It has two elevators, one was out for maintenance, but that did not have a negative impact. I liked the location, Gare St. Lazare is right across the street with multiple lines, even a direct line to Versailles. All the major attractions are about a 20 minute train ride away. I would definitely stay there again.
From the photos it appears to have a restaurant. Strongly recommend removing. While the breakfast buffet was fine, it was all cold dry food. (Not counting eggs). And the tea time food was horrible. We loved the hotel and it's SUPER clean. But the food and water situation were challenging. Also recommend SEVERAL bottles of water in the mini fridges. Just my daughter and i went to the market 3x, just to bring in over 8 litre bottles of water (we were only there 3 nights).
We truly enjoyed our stay here. We are a family with two teenagers and the adjoining rooms were perfect for us. The hotel was small, clean, beautifully designed and quaint. Staff was always very helpful and pleasant. Location was good and only 10 minutes walking to Gallery Lafayette and Opera. Definitely recommend. A Grade.
Not much of a Spa really. Location is amazing, easy and quick to get to main sights.
Na
Excellent stay for couple :)
Beautiful hotel. The location was not as ideal as intended but still close to transit for anything you want to see and do.
Oliver and Mien were phenomenal with their service!
OMG ! It too me soooo long to rate this property but I had such a great time there. Location is great, customer service girls are amazing so friendly and helpful. I’m thinking about going back to Paris and I will definitely. Stay there again . Merci beaucoup a vous tout ( le staff )
Friendly and helpful staff. The entertainment of a very talented singer/musician at breakfast was very unexpected but wonderful. The street is a bit gloomy and unattractive. Good room size and amenities.
This hotel is a total gem! perfect for our families stay in Paris. amazing interconnecting space for our family of 5, wonderful staff and lots of lovely little extras like the tea & coffee in the lobby as well as water in the rooms. Would recommend to all and would stay again for sure.
Great service. Staff were all friendly and helpful. They booked our cab to airport for us. So nice to have free bottled water, beverages, coffee, tea all day and night. Having some free madeleines and pancakes during the afternoon is a nice treat. Wish the rooms were a bit bigger otherwise they were comfortable with great beds, bedding, pillows, big fridge with a free large bottle of bottled water. Toiletries were high end. Good shower. So wonderful to be able to control AC. I hate the hotels that won’t let guests control temperature. Happy with location. So convenient to a major metro station requiring only 5 min walk. I highly recommend this hotel.
The property was very convenient and had many places around to walk to and eat. The staff was very friendly and eager to help with any questions we had!
It's very clean and convenient.
Should have been perfect
Lovely hotel, good location, nice rooms, excellent breakfast. So why have I graded it so low? The heating/aircon only goes down to 19C, and still pumps out warm air regardless of the ambient temperature. Result: a baking room and no sleep.
Overpriced
The refrigerator didn’t work, my balcony was the only one without chairs, the spa had limited hours(all it is is a jacuzzi and steam room), nothing to watch on tv(no movie channels or shows in English), the hotel itself is small and doesn’t match the price!
I absolutely love everything!!!
I had a good experience at Phileas. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The hotel was closed to shopping mall and a few nice cafe .
- professional, friendly and helpful staff - location - clean room/hotel - nice breakfast selection - after midnight hot-chocolates in the tv room
Very close to the train station, making it convenient. Otherwise, nothing special about the property. The lobby was nice and had been recently updated, but the rest of the property/rooms did not match this.
Fab stay at Hotel Phileas
Hi, this hotel is in a great and very central location but was quiet. The decor is fabulous and it is spotless! The room was a great size. There were some really nice touches too. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Tried to check in at 1:30pm, said they are cleaning the room. Came back at 2:30 and sat in the lobby to wait. Another couple entered the property to check in and they gave them their room right away. Fix this . We arrived first, we should get the room first .
So impressed with this hotel! High quality, soft linens on a very comfortable bed; thick, soft towels; very clean; plenty of electrical outlets for devices; high quality products for hair & shower; good lighting and a nice fridge; tasteful decor; excellent breakfast; exceptionally nice and helpful staff. I’ve been coming to Paris each year for 21 years, this is now my favorite hotel in the city. They pay special attention to the details to provide quality at a very reasonable price. That makes all the difference. Benoit was especially informative and helpful.
Loved this hotel - great location and our adjoining family room was awesome. Thanks for the great stay!
Delighted to see we were being accompanied by a pianist for breaKfast!! Very nice atmosphere.
Great location, spacious rooms. 10/10
Great refurbishment carried out since my last visit
Great location, charming property & helpful staff
Reallly great experience for family of 5, 2 connecting rooms which allowed one room for parents and a room for the kids. We liked the breakfast, good options for everyone. Nespresso in the room, comfy beds, very clean bathrooms, drinks in lobby. The front desk staff was amazing. Benoit helped us find Antigen testing locations when we arrived so we could get a health pass and also helped us book tickets to Versailles. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from St Lazare station, easy to get around. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and opera. The staff was so helpful in giving us travel tips, made such a difference. Great place!
Very good hotel, newly renovated in great location. Very helpful staff. Arrived earlier than check in time and they let me have the room and a breakfast. Great customer service.
Great location but poor hotel condition
The hotel itself is under renovation and the rooms are a little less attractive in real life than the one you see in the photos. Location is amazing - walking distance to the moulin rouge. Our bathroom got flooded and we got moved to a different room which smell a little bit of smoke but the staff opened the window to allow some air in. 5* to the staff but a 2 star on the state of the hotel.
It was a nice hotel. The location was great. Very small hotel and very small rooms. Small area to have some coffee and cookie not a real lobby but overall very clean and nice.
The Air condition in the whole hotel was turned off at any time by the decision of the hotel manager not by the room customer themselves. The front desk manager never listened to the customers’ demanding and take action.
Lovely and welcoming staff. The rooms are spacious considering the average size in Europe. However, there was a rather unpleasant smell coming from a mold in toilet ceiling above the mirror and through out my 7 nights the sink was slightly clogged. However, if I had informed the reception I’m sure they would fix it right away. All in all a wonderful experience with a silent night sleep. Thank you and will definitely stay here again.
Very good location, modern and clean room. Free coffee and water all the time
Gare St. Lizarre station was very convenient, as well as shopping.
Rooms to hot hot should be able to regulate temperatures
No any air condition in the whole hotel if the hotel manager feel the weather is cold. Not decided by the customer themselves in their individual room.
It is close to the metro station. Service at hotel is good
good location but not 4star, there was no iron or board, small room small bathroom, fridge did not work
Hidden Gem
Amazing location, bus stop is 5 steps away and you can go to Louvre, and train station , 7 mins walking distance to lafayette
Good hotel! Will stay again!
I loved my stay at this hotel. Good location, super friendly and helpful staff, very accommodating, clean room, comfortable bed.. I will definitely stay here again.. worth every penny!! Don’t stay at other cheap unsanitary hotel, and I’m talking about “55 Montparnasse hotel.” I canceled my reservation with them due to bed bugs (not to mention bad customer service and bad management- female manager poorly handled my bed bugs situation and got attitude, rude, and very unprofessional. She wouldn’t even admit she’s the manger and refused to give me her name and refused my refund.) I transferred to this hotel instead the following day and didn’t finish my stay with that filthy hotel. Who wants to stay at a hotel with bed bugs and the staff was scared to contact the manager to consult and handle the situation? I had to come back to talk to the manager and the female manager claimed she’s not the manager when the staff stated to me she’s above him. Coward and unprofessional. Anyways, Phileas hotel went above and beyond when it comes to customer service. The manager there even helped me find a bar for a solo female traveler and even helped me try to contact 55 Montparnasse hotel to see if the manager is there so I wouldn’t waste my time to go over there to get my refund as I didn’t stay for second night. She was very kind and professional, unlike that lady manager (with dark short hair) at 55 Montparnasse hotel.
Staff was great. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. AC worked as well as elevator. Convenient to trains. Would recommend to others. Adjoining rooms for family of 5 was very comfortable.
Very quiet property which is great after touring the sites of Paris all day. The property is very clean too. Staff was very helpful with any questions we had. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning.
Hotel was clean and staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Very clean and comfortable, big bathroom for Paris standards. Excellent location—a block from the best shopping center I’ve ever seen! Au Printemps doesn’t disappoint! Lots of cafes nearby, and right next to a central metro station. It was extremely hot during our stay and we were so happy to have decent AC in our hotel!! Would definitely stay here again.
Staff was friendly and property is located near rail station.
The location is spectacular Close to the Opera House, wonderful pasties each morning, fantastic shopping area
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was decent, clean, and quiet.
Despite being on a street side room, the noise insulation was excellent and the room in good condition and comfortable
Excellent
A real 4 stars hotel, lovely and confortable. Service is impeccable and you will enjoy the delicious bread for breakfast.
Tiffany
This hotel is on the prime location, family room is big and normal queen bed room is decent size
excellent with an exception of a light in the bathroom
A wonderful hotel near les Grands Magasins with a very courteous staff. This is the perfect place to stay if you're travelling via Saint Lazare train station, which is right across the street. The area is busy but our room was nice and quiet. The room itself is of a typical Parisian size (small but smartly laid out) with a nice modern decor, and the bed was supremely comfortable. Easy access to metro and a 30 minute walk to Sacre Coeur for the best early morning view of Paris. I would stay here again!
Inconvenient and small lobby, elevator/lift broken
The location is ok.. Not only that the hotel doesn't have a proper spacious lobby.. but the lift is located at upper 1st floor so we always have to go up 1 level stairs up before we can use the lift. There were 2 days the lift broke so we have to use the stairs going up and down from our room and the room given to us was 5th floor. So imagine the stress and inconvenience it brought us. Also there was one night we ddn't have aircon so we have to open the windows to get some air in. Receptionist and bellman were helpful with our inquiries and carrying bags.. adaptors for their sockets/plugs are limited.
Nice property, staff were excellent. Rooms were tight but comfortable. Elevator was broken. In a somewhat crowded area of Paris. Lots of restaurants in walking distance.
Great staff and location
The staff was terrific. The hotel is located very close to a train station, so getting around is a breeze. we are a family of 5, three teenagers. Our accommodations were very neat. We stayed in rooms 11 and 12 which are located behind a door off the common area where the breakfast bar is located. We were able to leave the doors to our rooms open and create one large room for the family. It was also super convenient to step right out to breakfast each day.
Rooms were a decent size and very clean. Staff were very friendly. In a good area, train and metro 2mins away but just as able to walk to all sights. Would definitely recommend
Nice room. Friendly staff good breakfast. Nice location
The hotel was in a local area where you can have easy access to all the highlights of the city. The staff was amazing and the hotel was spacious and clean.
The hotel is very quaint. The staff is very kind and most speak English. The elavator is on the first level so they will carry your luggage up the stair for you. Thankfully. The rooms are very spacious and has lots of outlets. It is also close to a major metro/train station. Which is really ideal. The location is far from the main tourist attractions but with the metro being close by a non issue
Outstanding Hotel
This is an outstanding hotel and I will definitely stay here the next time I come to Paris. The hotel staff and front desk clerks are extremely polite and professional, the nicest I’ve ever encountered. Even very small things like I was going to have to buy a wall plug-in to charge my cell phone at night, the front desk clerk offered the use of the hotels power plug during my stay so I wouldn’t have to spend the money. Something small like this may not seem like that big of a deal but something that saved me €30 is a big deal when everybody is trying to nickel and dime you to death in Paris. I paid twice the amount staying at a nearby hotel the previous week which was right around the corner and got very little compared to this hotel. I love stepping off the train and walking three minutes to the hotel. It’s great if you’re planning to take the subway around Paris for the day. Take the subway back to Saint Lazare which is a large subway hub and walk across the street and you’re home. My wife walked about 10 minutes and was at the Louis & Vuitton Store which cost me an arm and a leg. But it is within 10 minutes walking distance of all the fancy malls and street shops that a lot of people come in Paris for.
Manager was rude when checking out he made the point to make me pay extra for breakfast.
Nice staff but sleepless nights
We checked out a day early and a refund was refused. The noise was excessive. Construction jack-hammers until 3 AM, workers (assuming they were kitchen staff) literally shouting at the top of their voices between 2 AM - 4 AM. Street noise was all night long every night. The staff was very nice. Accommodations were tiny. Not cozy - tiny.
The room was good size for paris. The bathroom was the best, with the rain shower and even had special effects lighting. Great place to come back to after the long walks in Paris. Right next to main metro station as well.
A very clean property located in a convenient area of Paris. The staff were friendly and helpful.
It is a very nice hotel in a central spot of Paris.
Very friendly and accommodating staff - a lovely small hotel 😊
Location and staff very clean and friendly people and place
Our Paris trip in general was interesting. Our highlight was this hotel. It was right near the train station and near other things. We were greeted by wonderful staff and an awesome room. It was on the small side, but from my understanding a lot of rooms in general are like that. We didn’t spend much time in the room anyway. The beds were comfortable and bathroom was beautiful and clean. I really have to say again how much I appreciated the staff. They were extremely helpful in anything we needed.
Lovely Parisian stay
This is a lovely, centrally located hotel near Gare St. Lazare and around the corner from the Grands Magasins. The room we had was very spacious, especially for Paris. The staff was very friendly. There is a little dining area with free coffee, tea, water and fruit. It is a perfect place from which to explore Paris.
A Gem In Paris
Excellent accommodations. Well appointed, with excellent quality amenities and fixtures. Comfortable bed, even the windows are new and restricted the noise from the street.
Nice hotel, friendly staff and excellent location within the city of Paris
Hotel was very nicely decorated and clean. Room had a very strange musty smell however. Close to major attractions
I’ll stay again
Very good service as usual. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms
Check in was great! location, staff very helpful to guide us to restaurants site locations, made reservations for us! The petit dejuner delicious. Love them, the staff, hotel and location. I would stay again in my next trip to Paris.
The location next to Gare St Lazare was perfect the night before our train to Brussels. The shower set up was really nice as well!
Great for a night in Paris!
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We checked in early and dropped off our bags. The room was very clean and had very comfortable features.
Staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Great location! Amazing service from all staff specially Maeline ! She made us feel welcomed!
