Nice but room for improvement

Great in theory, but it’s a little tired. Only one of the dining options was open, which was a challenge given it’s a long way from anything else. The pool is gorgeous but closes at 6, and the breakfast left a lot to be desired. Overall it was fine, but not what I expected for the price paid

So far everytime want to go to room from lobby/swimming pool need to call buggy. Service buggy is good. Staff friendly. But why give room very far. Somemore internet line not clear. Yes its nice in jungle. But for me very difficult to walk very far. Place also lack of maintainence. Expecially at the pool.there are stone that is broken it hurt my leg when i swim in pool. Very dangerous. Must check the floor. Some part need to repair. The scenery is nice. And lastly. Guys please bring your own towel. I think management also need to change the towel. Its like a budget hostel la. Common. 5 stars hotel used this kind of towel. Thin. No label.and its looks old and yellowish already.bye!

Dissapointed trip

Facility in the room was not maintain. Dissapointed as requested for a king size bed, but 2 single beded provided. The hotel shld contact the customer if unable to accomodate/suggest for upgrading instead of dissaponting the customer during check in.

If you love nature, u can stay here, but the hospitality is totally kurenggg for a 5 star rating hotel! 5 kali i jmp lipas dlm toilet! Air dalam cattle pon dorg x cuci from previous visitors! Face towel pon xde, plus air shower pon keluar x sekata. 😏

The food still need improve services,the environment is ok

beautiful place but pity lack effort to keep it.

it was a very nice place to stay. people who love nature will be happy to stay here. cozy and beautiful. However due to not much activities here it makes the place "dead". should have some live band to play during peak time or have your massage spa available for your guest. it is cause resort and spa but there wasn't anything to do there besides the swimming pool. everything else like the spa, karaoke room not working and not available. we reached there evening and we ordered the food. it takes very long to come even though there are only the two of us there and the food prepared was not fresh. Satay dumpling rice was hard like it was just out of the fridge. the lava cake was hard. really disappointed. wish the management could do something to improve this beautiful place and not let it go to waste.

Service sangat lambat

Nothing impressed us at this place except for the ambience & environment. (Booked Philea Suite) Staffs: 1. Not even a single smilling or friendly face. Everyone seem to look busy. 2. Hospitality from hotel staffs failed big time, during breakfast there were no drinking glasses beside the juice area, upon requests from the staff i think even a wall could have responded better. He merely took the empty tray and walked off without uttering a word. Cleanliness: 1.I understand that the rooms are made of woods but that doesnt give you an excuse to serve your guest with a musty smelling room. This clearly shows the rooms were not occupied for long and it wasnt cleaned or prepped. 2.What was suppose to be a romantic bathroom felt like walking into The Adam's Family house, cob webs at every corner of the wall. 3. We hardly spent 30mins at the pool, it was unbelievably dirty. Dirt particles floating and visible before even jumping in. You can only imagine what was the view like with goggles as we were using them. 4. During breakfast there was no empty space thus we had to wait to be seated which was fine. What was rather disappointing is they served us a table for 2 at a corner that was filled with filth from food particles under the table and uncleaned/wiped table. Amenities : 1. We were shocked at the fact that when we requested for 2 extra water bottles, we had to pay rm3 for each. Never have we ever experienced such a thing in a 5star as it was always complimentary.

good short staycation but room need maintenance

We booked 2 deluxe king rooms. One for my sister and one for my hubby and me. Unfortunately, our room has aircon was not cold and water heater not hot. Gotten the mechanical to repair twice fir the aircon before it could function properly. Spa is under renovation and dinner option is limited. Breakfast not very fantastic. But we love the lush greenery and peace of the surrounding.

No tv programmes available due to unknown reason. Pool water not really clean, a lot of floating items. Staffs should greet. Foods are acceptable.

feeling good even the country is surronded by haze. i believed the environment not so much affected by haze and my kids really enjoy our stay and really love the swimming pool, thus located in the heart of nature

Decent stay - could have been better.

Neighbours were noisy, and the soundproofing is terrible. Environment is nice, but a bit inconvenient. Buggies brought us to the room as it was a distance to walk, but it took 30 minutes for a buggy to bring us out to check out. It is a nice walk in the area back to the main building. Breakfast service is good, and the swimming pool is quite nice. Very baby/toddler friendly. For the price we paid, we would have expected bottled water upon request with no additional charge. I had to call reception twice to get the water - the first time, the request was acknowledged, however no one mentioned the charge. Subsequently, the bottles were not delivered. When I called the second time, and acknowledged there was a charge, the bottles were delivered shortly after. I spent 20 minutes waiting the first time.

Comfortable Quiet Resort

The place was very quiet - few guests because after the school holidays. Rooms are in two storey chalets surrounded by trees. The swimming pool is amazing and we had it pretty much to ourselves. Rooms are large and the internet is fast enough to be usable. Access is by golf cart buggies and there are a lot of uneven steps so it would be difficult for handicapped guests. Location could be better - it is far from Melaka town.

Nice Resort

very peaceful hotel, helpful staff, varied breakfast. only a spa and karaoke club are closed. so the resort's activities only swim. the second day there was a new guest on our room, the guests were noisy singing in front of our room until late night. we made a complaint at the reception and they stop, but me and son could not sleep because the guests were over the noise and water from their room flowing to our bathroom door. we were converted into a new room. request at reception for late check out is not possible and will be charged.

Oversell - extremely poor standard.

Limited facility. SPA reported under renovation BUT no sign of any renovations activity; likely not in operations. Breakfast variety very limited and of poor taste.

Buggy service was prompt. Resort area is awesome, magnificent view surrounding the resort. Only problem while staying there was the water pressure. Twice maintenance came over to rectify the water pump but after a while it's back to little to no water.

A nice place to get Detox, really.

This has been a dream holiday place for me. However, the resort is quite run down and needs a lot of upkeep. A bit disappointing when I found out that the SPA was shut down. Otherwise, the swimming pool with the waterfall, and the greeneries around the rooms are really excellent for anyone who seek serene and peace.

nice hotel peace of mind staying

but too much of spider fed in bedroom and toilet. the coffee was not replaced until we requested for. wee had steamboat dinner but its not fresh, very expensive for only vegetables and fishball steamboat. others need to ala carte request but also very expensive. food in cofee house for breakfast is not up to the hotel standard. the food is moderate.

Not so good experience...buffet breakfast was not even top up when we came in at 9.15am.Everyone (staff) was busy with lion dance show (CNY) and food was empty when there still so many people eating..service was slow.

my one day stay in philea

I was disappointed with the room and breakfast. I was not expecting this from a 5 stars hotel... the staircase to our room was unkempt and the worst part was the room was smelly!!

secluded stay

Inside of the room is clean but the exterior of the rooms need cleaning up. Cobwebs etc can be found . Even the whole resorts need to do some upgrade cos it was quite rundown since i last stayed in 2016.

Hotel has nice view but disappointed with the room

Check in room to find toilet bowl water keep running after flush and shower head is crooked. Toilet ceiling has mould. Breakfast area always has flies flying around.

Past its prime

It's a shame what was once a lovely place has been so neglected and that the management obviously don't take running it seriously. Everything is run down and some parts are visibly rotting. The restaurant and bar are out of stock constantly, the rooms smell of damp and many are badly mouldy.

The hotel is located in a great location, with good potential. Rooms were dirty, despite many times asking them to clean it.

exclusive but condition can be improved

The only setback was the room preparation - towel not enough, tea spoon missing, leftover plates by previous occupant left at the balcony. Others, perfect especially the engaged staffs are beyond expectation.

location and hotel set-up was perfect. but comparatively the room maintenance does not up to the hotel level. leftover plates with rotten foods (from room service by previous occupant) left at the balcony. incomplete towels in the room (i realized this because accommodated 2 same type of rooms at the same time). tea spoon left out / not available in one room. blocked toilet bowl. access card faulty. desk phone buttons not working / damaged. and worse case air-conditioning not working and finally room was changed to another at 2am in the morning. but lucky is that the respond from the maintenance team (eventhough at 1am) was very2 fast. On the bright side, room service respond was very2 good, buggy service respond was extremely fast (the best compared to other hotels serving buggy). complaints respond was very2 prompt and maintenance team was extremely responsive and high concern on customer's expectation, well done! others in terms of food, staff's attitude towards customers are good, at a 4-5 star level. TQ

Beautiful stay

A good place to stay away city and relax. Beautiful scenery and shooting ambiance. The staffs are friendly too. The only problem we faced during the stay was the air-cond problem, causing the room is warm during day time, but it's okay during night.

Back to nature, good experience

Hotel check in process needs lots of improvement.After long q for half hour to check in, room not ready.receptionist told us they will give us a call once room is ready.more than 1 hour waiting,nobody call us. We asked the receptionist again,they told us to Q up again To collect our room keY and it took another half hour waiting in the Q.Definitely not a 5 star hotel standards with the current check in process.

Stay experience

The environment is good except that the room can be quite noisy as the sound proof is quite bad, u can easily hear the walking steps from below yr room which is above or room next to your or yr neighbor talking

Breakfast is nice, but the room's air-conditioner doesn't feel cold. Poor sound proof as motorbike noise too loud at night. Couldn't sleep well at all!!

4 days 3 nights at Philea.

It was for quiet getaway with friends. Hotel staff are helpful and gives good service. However the food served in the hotel is disappointing, esp breakfast. Just not tasty. The Spa is dodgy and doesn't look clean nor smell good. Poor ambience although the masseur was not too bad. Only 2 masseurs at one time. Pool is so-so only.

Short getaway

Maybe it's the weather, but the room smells moldy and the chair in front of our room was broken. Luckily we tested it out first before sitting.

Worst resort stay in melaka

It was not worth the money for the stay. Few things that I encounter during my stay. 1. Toilet bowl was not washed completely.. there are some dirt on the toilet bowl. 2. No receptionist or person in charge for spa .. rang them few times no pick up, went there personally, no one is on duty 3. 2 bottles of water limited to per room per day, extra bottle of drinking water is chargeable at rm 3 per bottle. Would not recommend anyone to go, with the price , I would go to other resort in malaysia which more worth the mkney spent.

Malacca Stay

There is no bath robe provided in room , only 2 big showel towel. It will good if there are also medium size towel provided for wipe dry my hair.

Interesting concept

Resort concept is pretty interesting, with chalets made with logs. However, do note that because of that, sound travels and room is not soundproof. Pavilion room was decent and comfortable, request for upper deck for the high ceiling. Our bathtub water outlet couldn't work the first night, made a complaint the next day and was offered a new room. Anyhow, there's still room for customer service improvement at this resort. 1. Do not wash the main stairway to lobby during dinner time. Your customers need to use those steps to walk up to the restaurant. 2. Do not leave soapy water at bottom of stairway unattended, customers may slip and fall 3. Leave a sign on the way to Nusantara restaurant to inform the switch in breakfast location so that customers don't walk all the way in the wrong direction 4. Brief your staff daily so that they are well informed of the switch in breakfast location and not react surprised when asked why Nusantara restaurant was closed

It was a great staycation..l would like to suggest this resort to those who wants to experience the peaceful and relaxing environment. Besides that, the unique room interior made us feel this resort is differ from others.

Not so perfect as it appears.

Overall it was OK, nothing fantastic except for the surroundings. The back to nature of it was great, loved the pool and it's man made waterfalls. Breakfast buffet could have been better. The bathroom was a total disappointment. We stayed on the 1st floor. The water pressure for the shower was poor. The drainage for the shower, sink and toilet bowl was always stuck. When u flush the water would seep out from the bowl. It was not a pleasant experience. Hopefully not all rooms are like that.

Not worth for Money!

Room is just nice consider clean, air-cond is cold environment is OK. The Staff is not friendly The only attractive facility is the swimming pool ( but the size is not consider Big) The buggy can only be used when check-in and out The breakfast is worse!! Little choices, not sufficient tables, not even provide sufficient food all of us have to wait for them to top up the foods... Very bad experience...

Quite a pleasant stay

It was suppose to be an excellent experience for me and my partner, but thing did not turn up to be what it supposed to be. Thanks to the family who stayed next door, we could not have a good sleep. I must say about the sound proof quality, mainly due to the hotel room was build by logs and not concrete, so we could easily hear voice from other door, especially the stair case area was extremely clear. Other than that, the rest is fine, facilities were fine and hotel staffs were friendly.

Facilities food breakfast are not up to 5 star's hotel resort standard. Not convenient those we small kids. Suitable for those who like quiet environment. We will not recommend to others

It's very nice place and nature environment… maybe is nature environment so room have some insects… because the room design is two floor so have a bit noisy if next door or downstairs room neighbours when talking and walk up or down staircase.

A nice place to relax and have your family time

This hotel is a nice place for vocation especially for family members. I like their designs for both room and landscape. It's refreshing. I went there during peak holiday season, the hotel seems like not enough staff to prepare their breakfast and to clean the table during the breakfast time. it's a bit disappointed on their service comparing with the price we paid. But overall it's a nice place to relax.

Family Resort near Melaka/Malacca

Philea is a family resort a short drive from Malacca/Melaka. We were two couples who stayed there in two bungalow suites. The rooms were fine with the exception of some issues with the air conditioners so be sure to ring for assistance should you have any trouble. The rooms as large with huge bathrooms which include claw-footed tubs. The breakfast was a bit chaotic given that the resort was full for the May 1st weekend so our advice would be to avoid long weekends if you want peace and quiet, a lane in the swimming pool and some food left at the breakfast buffet.

Room for improvement

- Hotel Location of Philea Resort are convenient and easy to find - Room Clean and Neat, but i felt the lighting is too dark - Room distance from lobby is too far and Philea resort only promised to use their buggy service in check-in & check-out only. Thus not convenient for those family who bring baby or elderly person. - Soundproof was very poor in the first floor and midnight you are still able hear a lot of noise from second floor with their footstep.

Very bad service expecially at swimming pool area. They ask us to get out of the pool and play at children pool but we are adult. but in very very rude way to sound people. Very rude! If they want to control they should check before people get into the pool. And atleast in polite way right

This is a classic example of world class facilities with terrible customer service. From the reception right down to room service. It is obvious that the staff have not been given any or enough training. Dont expect any four and five-star luxury hotel service where employees step over that line of satisfaction to exceed the guests’ expectation here. Period.
