Second time to stay at this hotel, staff are friendly, but need new pillows ours were flat. This is our choice of hotel when we stay in dar es salaam. Good facilities but not eaten in the restaurant.
Lovely room, staff were very friendly
Great location
Great location, close to many places to eat and enjoy night life. Room was big, ok in terms of rest.
wonderful
Well located and great for the price
Well located near lots of food and shopping options. Rooms are comfy and clean, but look a bit dated. Internet could be a bit faster too. For the price though it's an excellent choice. Staff was very friendly.
Great stay!!
Great stay! We have stayed at this hotel many times since 2016 and have always been happy with our stay! The staff is so helpful and desirous to satisfy the guests. Thank you staff!!!
I was a regular customer of this hotel from 2015-2019 when it was under Best Western. I always stayed here because the price was great, rooms were good and spacious with a sitting area and very comfortable beds. The location may not be on the the beach, but it is on the Peninsula equidistant from all the places I needed to go. It is also easy walking distance from good restaurants and a small grocery. This was my first stay since the pandemic, and it seems to be under new management and no longer franchised. However, I think the hotel has made some modest improvements. The lobby and restaurant have been nicely reconfigured. They are keeping the corridor doors closed which is keeping the common areas cooler. Looks like they revived the long dormant fitness room. Sitting furniture in the rooms have been replaced- same style, just new. During my stay, handymen seemed to be busy with lighting maintainence and repairs. Cleanliness and staff were good. As long as the price stays down, it is still my favorite place for short business trips.
Beware of malfunctioning elevator
Hotel has just elevator which was not working. Everything else in g to be hotel was good
Excellent
Amazing hotel, friendly staff,good food,serene environment 😊
Surrounded by eating options and cafes in a decent area near Embassies. Staff very helpful and decent price but no pool on property.
Quiet neighborhood
Quiet neighborhood, spacious room, very good breakfast, nice dinner
Great as usual
The staff at Peninsula are warm and friendly. You will enjoy the food prepared very well and generously. If dont like small cramped hotel rooms Peninsula is perfect, the rooms are spacious and with great amenities.
This is my favorite place to stay in Dar for business. Fabulous staff, Safe, clean, good value
Convenient location, spacious rooms, clean
Good for the most part
I will say that overall I would go back. I did not do breakfast, I'm not a breakfast person and hate waking up early. I also did not eat at the restaurant as there are so many restaurants nearby that I did not have time to eat at the hotel, I did on my last night order a vanilla milkshake but was made aware there was no more vanilla ice cream. Speaking of things nearby this location was perfect. My friend recommended that I stay in that area. The rooms are big and nice. The tv did not work I found this out on my last night as I got in early on Sunday and wanted to lay around. On my 1st day walking into the room there was what appeared to be a bloodstain on the comforter, but this was quickly changed, there was also a leak from the fridge but after the floor was mopped it did not leak, I assume the ice in the fridge melted due to the room not being occupied. The staff was so nice and anything I asked for I got. If I had to complain about anything I would say the couches in the room were dated and needed a deep clean but were still useable. Overall I would definitely stay again!
Having tile floors is definitely the best in a hot and humid climate. The hotel is clean, the staff are all very helpful, and the location is convenient to good area restaurants/cafés and shopping.
The hotel does not have beautiful ocean views, but the location is very convenient.
Close to wond
Great Stay
Staff was VERY helpful!!!
Most of the staff was friendly and helpful during my stay which is why
The hospitality and services all awesome . The food is value for money.. Just wished they have a swimming pool . I love swimming
An excellent place to stay. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Dar.
Met our needs
We stayed just to rest up for the next leg of our long trip. It was pleasant and met our needs. Good AC and WiFi, delicious breakfast buffet.
Meets your basic needs
The Best Western Plus seems to be lacking the “plus”. With big rooms and comfy beds it meets your basic needs, but that’s about it. Everything else is adequate, but just. The one upside is that it’s located next to fast food so you’re not held captive to its sole uninspired eating option.
I just don't like this property rather I LOVE everything about this property. It was very clean, my room was big and the bed was very comfortable. It is very accessible to everything and this place is very safe and homey..At first, I wasn't sure about this hotel as I've never been in any Best Western hotel. However, if I have to do it again and visit Dar Es Salaam, this will be my go to place.. The staffs are professional and helpful as always... they never disappoint me...
100%
I’d give this stay 100%, everything was to perfection. All staff members were always pleasant and ready to serve. The food was always good and the room was big, spacious and clean.
The location is great and the price is good, especially since you actually do not have an ocean view. It is priced well for its location and views.
Good Hotel location and Good staff. Ac cannot be set for a temperature.
Very good overall
Good rooms great location
Perfect room
Perfect room with great breakfast!
The rooms are spacious. There is a complimentary shuttle that runs between properties and around the Slipway area that is convenient. They have good breakfast options.
Stay Here!
We had a couple of concerns that we addressed with the staff. The manager responded quickly and to our total satisfaction! This is the most deliberate and the best service we have had in Dar!
Everything was excellent. The rooms service food was hot, breakfast in the morning was hot and a very good selection, laundry service was good and on time, air-con was good and not noisy, good selection of channels on the TV, very hard to find fault with anything. The shower was hot, with good water pressure. Wi-fi was good. The only thing I can find fault with was the balcony door was extremely stiff and hard to open, that'll teach me for being a smoker...!!!! The question is as always, would I stay here again? the answer is of course I would without hesitation.....
My stay in that hotel was excellent and is value for money and would come back again for my next trip. The breakfast is awesome, cleanness is on top, staff's were friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend for guests to book for the hotel.
Great value for money. Won’t disappoint
Really exceeded all expectations. And I’ve traveled. I now know Dar and realize that Oyster Bay is the place to stay over downtown and although the area outside the hotel may appear less than pristine, this actually is a nice part of Dar, safe and accessible to everything needed - restaurants, bars and the beach at Coco beach. The coup de grace however is the huuuge Loft apartment style rooms, which are honestly the size & style of a New York Loft — except nicer, newer and cleaner! The service here is above average definitely by Dar standards where customer service is really just not a thing. Overall, great value for my money. Definitely my choice of hotel while in Dar from Now on.
Large and Clean Room but Noisy at times
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The rooms are large and have balconies. The Hotel is also very clean. Housekeeping however was very noisy in the mornings- there was a lot of door banging and shouting. Generally staff were helpful and friendly. The Hotel gym is fairly small and basic. I would reccomend it most for early risers.
ARROGANT MANAGEMENT AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
I BOOKED THROUGH EXPEDIA FOR 3 NIGHTS AND I GOT AN EMERGENCY SO I REQUESTED FOR EARLY CHECK OUT (2 NIGHTS INSTEAD OF 3NIGHTS) BUT THEY TOLD ME TO PAY FOR 3NIGHTS AND REQUEST REFUND FROM EXPEDIA BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER EXPEDIA BOOKINGS....THEY ALSO REFUSED ME TO SPEND THAT NIGHT IN FUTURE DATES. WORSE ENOUGH EXPEDIA REFUSED TO REFUND NEITHER ISSUING ME 1 NIGHT VOUCHER TO USE OTHER TIME. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE....
A great place
An excellent hotel. Had an issue with opening the safe on the last day. However, this was resolved most professionally by Mr Hanif and his team.
Comfortable hotel in Peninsula
Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights during a business trip. As we normally have business dinners at night, it makes sense to stay on the Peninsula side rather than in the city. Good business hotel in Peninsula area. Close to many good restaurants. Nice size room, good internet, decent breakfast.
I didn't like the hotel, the location, the service or the rooms.
Terrible experience
I would be careful staying at the place hotel staff will do everything possible to take advantage of you if you are a foreigner especially America . Everyone around this area see dollars signs when they know you are America . One broken wine glass can turn magically into 10 broken glasses and an attempt to bill you 300 for it just so local staff can hustle you and pocket your money. I missed my flight out of the country due to the corruption and scam the management staff was doing. I recommend do not stay at this place. Better just to go straight into Zanzibar.
Dest Western Peninsula Dar es Salaam
Room and area were fine - price also. There is a very limited menu in the restaurant which must be improved. Not everyone likes Indian food all the time and the selection og other food is small and inadequate. The tiles in the shower are very slippery and dangerous. Otherwise no real complaints
nice hotel, hotel staffs're friendly.
convenient, good location, good wifi
My stay was good. Staff were pleasantt
Clean and does the job
Stayed here for one night after 9nights at the slipway. I would say for cleanliness and premium item bedding, this is very good! OK, it's not on the beach edge, and there's no swimming pool. But other than that, no complaints.
Nice and clean, spacious hotel
If you are looking for a room to stay a night while a transit, then it is good hotel at a great location in Dar es salaam.
Very dirty bathroom Poor restaurant Apalling service
"Summer vacation"!
I had a wonderful time at the hotel, will definetly come back again in the future.
