Bad first impression.
We had to use a ring doorbell to get through the door. The place is on a very busy road and it was almost impossible to hear the person on the other side. This, coupled with the speaker not having a good grasp of English, meant we were very frustrated when we got through the door with a code and then had to get another code to get our room key. Apparently reception hours are 1100 to 1500 and 2300 to 0700. Which is not very welcoming considering check in starts at 1400. I don't think it is much to expect a manned reception at 5pm on a Friday evening when we arrived. We got to our room which stank of weed and obviously there was nobody to complain to. On the positive side, once we became, 'nose blind,' to the smell, the room was small but comfortable and clean. There was no sink in the bathroom, it was in the bedroom instead.
They were very hard to reach and refused to be accommodating as my needs changed
Excellent all round. Great breakfast very friendly and helpful staff. Contemporary & comfortable. Recommend
My Stay at Peckham Rooms
Nice quiet location , don’t be fool by the look of the building .Nice clean rooms, a little on the snail side . A very nice lounge downstairs for breakfast which cost about £8 . Room rates are very reasonable . I would definitely stays there again.
Horrible overpriced hostel
The worst place we have ever been to in our lives. Overpriced, mould everywhere, no parking whatsoever, walls made from cardboard, you can hear people breathing next door. I've been to better hostels than this. AVOID!
Noisy hotel
It was very noisy because there was a lack of sound proofing between rooms and the hallway. The room I booked also has a window to the hall way to the breakfast area so it was very loud in the morning. It was nice that there was free breakfast but it was very limited so don't have high expectations, but it was free so I can't complain really.
Won’t be returning
We booked a superior room! But don’t be fooled by this wording! As you opened room door you were met by the bed, hardly any space to move around bed, bed was very uncomfortable, and very noisy, pillow wash a cushion! We were right on the road side at group level, very noisy from traffic, police, ambulances passing by, noisy pedestrians. Window had a poor blind that let light in all round the sides from street lights. I dread to think what a standard room is like!
Ear plugs and sunglasses
It was fine, there was a big window by the bed that lit up every 20 mins or so as the food light turned on outside. Could have done without tar
Nice hotel in Peckham
Nice , clean , secure hotel. very convenient for Peckham . The breakfast area is super with a great choice of Portuguese breakfast dishes. Our room was compact and without any outside facing windows . Also being next to the breakfast area did mean it was noisy Would recommend the hotel - but not room 08 .
Everything was pleasant The bed was clean and comfortable and the kitchen space was nice where you can get free tea and coffees and snacks apart from the temperature of the room was so hot and I couldn’t cool down even with the window open and there was a really horrible strong drain smell in the toilet that was so overpowering
This is nice, easy & inexpensive place to stay. My sister and I came from the US. The room is small, but clean. When I travel I go for the attractions and the city/country. As long as there is a clean room and shower/bathroom then I'm happy. The staff was nice too. They have free tea and water downstairs so that was nice too. The staff member whonwas cleaning the area was very nice too. We chatted with her a bit. We would stay here again
Simple accommodation of the best sort: clean, efficient, comfortable. Excellent idea to have tea and coffee available in the breakfast area at all times. And breakfast itself was just right in what it offered. Friendly staff too. All in all excellent value for money.
Nice one
The room was fair, very tiny! The area was not very nice.
The shower was not very nice You need to something to put soup or flannel
Beautiful room but terrible night sleep
What a beautiful room however thats where it stops. Its so noisy! There was a buzzing noise all night (we think from aircon however even off it still buzzed). The beds were so squeaky that every time we moved they made noise. The mattresses were uncomfortable. The staff come in at 7am talking so loudly they woke us up. All night was just a constant bang of the doors and hearing people.
Nice people. Cramped rooms. Electrical problems. Sketchy neighborhood.
Though facilities were available in the lounge for tea & coffee etc there was nothing in the room.
It was stated on the booking that there would be parking, which there was not. There was also a lack of information regarding how to enter the property and no one at reception so had to make multiple calls to receive said information despite the note on the door suggesting I should have been emailed The place itself was okay and clean and nice enough despite an awful smell and some road noise.
Best hotel
Nice hotel with helpful staff as i made a mistake and booked 2 rooms instead of 1 but they sorted my issue instanly. The fact they had air-conditioning and it was the hottest day of the year pretty much paid for itself.
Good value but could be better
Comfortable enough rooms although ours was right on the main road & had sash windows so very very noisy. Service was OK but the information on the hotel website is all wrong. Check in desk was closed at 3pm having been told check in was FROM 3pm onwards. There was self check-in but I was only sent details on how it works the day after our stay, so pretty useless. Had a few issues with getting keys to our room & when we did they didn’t work so had to use a master key (which didn’t make me feel that safe). The other frustration was the website said there was parking which there is not. When mentioned to the person I spoke to they said ‘oh yeah I know, thats well out of date’. Then please update details. All 3 telephone numbers that were provided to use for our do hours contact don’t pick up but the Ring doorbell at the front door worked and the person on the other end was helpful enough. Overall a nice enough place & I could overlook the noisy room (although recommend double glazing) but the out of date information on the website is really quite poor, especially when it’s easy & free to update. I guess for the price it was value enough but a few little changes and it’d be getting more stars.
Loud, go somewhere else if you can afford
I would not recommend you stay here if you can afford better. It is extremely loud outside as well as inside. We could hear everyone coming and going as well as every car and vehicle passing by. We didn’t have great sleep any night we were here, and that was me wearing earplugs to go to sleep. The service is good - the people were accommodating and helpful. The hotel is located pretty close to an Underground stop, so that made getting around easy, at least.
Peckham vs Kensington - similar price, you decide?
Hotel was conveniently located on Peckham road and good transit options. However, the stay was sub-par at best. Spring mattress was uncomfortable, somehow room window was open when I got back, despite the do not disturb sign, (nothing was taken). Room looks as described in photos but quality for everything is mediocre at best. Peckham neighborhood is cute but it could get rough at night which is when I mostly got back. Pub next door was great but if you are hungry late at night, there is nothing around. My hotel in Kensington, first half of this trip for similar price was far better than this. It was small but comfortable.
Very good service.
Was nice and cozy toilet complitely new with big shower and vrery confy bed
Had a really nice day, comfortable clean will definitely book again
Mistake
I had the same issues as others have mentioned. There is no parking avaiable. I had to find a parking place quite a walk away, not good as it was raining. I didn't receive any arrival information such as door codes. In fairness this was probably the fault of Hotels.com and not the hotel. I also had problems sleeping with the outside light enetring the room, also the horrendous green fire exit light in the room.
Stay away
Absolutely nightmare worst place in 22 years of working away. Advertised as parking available and 24hr reception. Had to park a mile away in a supermarket car park and pay then talk over the phone to get inside. People up banging and shouting at 4am. No drinks facilities never ever again would i stay here.
The pictures are not an accurate representation of the room at all. The pillows were stained and the walls were filthy.
definitely would stay here agajn
Mistake
Pillows are half the size of normal ones, super loud all night with the road and thin windows. Blinds arent wide enough to cover the window so you can see in either side. Fire exit sign in the room glowing green all night. No tea and coffee in the room. Parking the advertise doesn’t exists Will be avoiding next time I’m down.
Very nice
My stag was smooth and beautiful.
It was completely fine considering that we paid. The room was clean but a bit small so a bit difficult to manoeuvre around with two people and luggage, but we didn't spend much time in the hotel room anyway so totally fine for our purpose. Breakfast was great - fresh bread, eggs, coffee, pastries etc. for just 8gbp per day . The only bad thing was that there says there was a hairdryer in the room and there wasn't, since we checked in after 3pm and no one was at reception it was a bit of a faff to get hold of one by ringing the provided number.
Staff are pleasant and willing to help.
The area around the hotel didn’t feel like the best place to walk at night but the door in and out felt very secure. The interior was very nice, and they had an honesty bar for snacks and drinks which I thought was a lovely idea. The room itself was very small, and the bed took up most of the space, so it wouldn’t be a very convenient place to stay for some down time but as we were just using it as a place to sleep, it was perfect for our needs. The shared bathroom was very modern looking and clean.
Served a purpose, but wouldn’t recommend
This hotel is a case of you get what you pay for. It was very close to the venue we were attending, and it was cheap, so plumped for this over the travelodge, but I wouldn’t do it again. I was a bit concerned about some of the reviews, and in this case my experience was the same, although I can’t speak for other rooms. The hotel entry is clean and bright, but the rooms are not soundproofed, tired decoratively with a lot of chipped paint, poorly cleaned (bathroom in particular in room 19), small and if you dont like a very soft mattress and cushion sized pillows I would not recommend staying here - there was no support at all. The double room we stayed in had floor space of around 3x5ft, no room for luggage etc, which is difficult with two adults staying for 3 nights. A final niggle was the fact that there was no privacy from the large window, which looked directly across into another room on one side, or the upstairs corridor. We had to leave the blind fully down and the light on whenever we were in the room. A bit of privacy film on the window pane would be an easy fix. Selection of self serve drinks downstairs was good. We didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel. We didn’t speak to anyone at the hotel about the issues at the time, given we weren’t in the room very much, but when I need to come to Peckham in future I’ll be looking at other options.
Manager was very helpful
The staff was very accommodating.
There was no one at the premises when we arrived to check in. There was no forewarning of this. And we had to call 3 or 4 times on different numbers (one of the numbers was disconnected) to eventually get someone who could advise of of how to get in the apartment and self check in. It was expensive for what it was. No breakfast included option. Breakfast (continental) was an added £8. I’d say the stay was fine, but poor value for money. However, the place was clean and close to where we were visiting.
Easy check in very clean and a very friendly staff.
It is cozy and beautiful. My only challenge is that the room was not warm. It was a cold night
Will not be returning! Did not feel safe in the area. My room was tiny and cramped. Couldn’t have the window because of the noise outside and safety, so the room was stuffy and too hot. Found a fan which I used. Got covered in dust and fluff. Disgustingly dirty!! They state free off site parking. Not technically a lie, but it is pot luck if the residential street has any gaps. And there weren’t when I finished work late. An expensive mistake which I won’t be making again!
Average
A great place to stay
Checkin was done by providing codes to pickup room keys in advance, this worked well. Room was as described, bed was comfortable and the bathroom recently refurbished. It's located just 5 minutes from Queens Road station, trains run into London Bridge every 15 minutes, taking just 8 minutes.
Pictures very deceiving. Room randomly entered by staff whilst in it with no warning. Wouldn’t even consider staying again.
Quiet and easy to follow check in and operating instructions
Chaotic
Self check-in was chaotic. When I arrived at the hotel, I ringed the bell and nobody answered. Luckily, the couple (other guests) who were just about to go out opened the door for me. They explained that I was supposed to receive the instruction to check-in with the key code for the entrance and the safe box code for the card key for my room. I did not receive any of that. If the other guests had not been there, I would have been stranded outside because by that time, my mobile phone died as well. The room was clean, nice decoration, but sound insulation was horrible, the wall paper thin. I heard other guests’ footsteps cooking up the staircases and car and buses outside of the hotel all the time. I could not sleep. There were not enough hair dryers so guests need to wait until other finish using it. Please consider installing a hair dryer in each room. Also, the window was not insulted and the draft was coming in. It’s summer and ok now but I would not stay here in winter. Hotels.com sent me an automated email saying I should pay at the premises but when I tried to pay when checking out, the receotionsit told me that it’s been already paid. Overall, this hotel and Hotels.com are not very well organised/arranged who does what and made a basic procedure such as payment and check-in confusing.
Good for a short stay. I would stay again.
GOOD POINTS! The hotel is ideal for an overnight stay. It's withing easy walking distance from the Queens road station and has plenty of bars and places to eat nearby. Self check in was quick and easy, with full instructions emailed to you in advance. The staff were friendly, approachable. The breakfast / chill room in the basement is quirky and has a good supply of teas and filter coffee that you can help yourself to at anytime of day or night. The room has a supply of fresh fluffy towels and a supply of soap and wash gel. I did partake of the optional continental breakfast at a cost of £8. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of fruit, cereal, yoghurt, sourdough bread, different milk and milk free options. And pastries and muffin The NOT SO GOOD POINTS! My particular bathroom was on the small side, with a narrow opening point for the shower door, the shower however was good and powerful. The bed/mattress was uncomfortable and the bed could do with full size pillows. There was nowhere really to put clothes etc away, and a mirror on the desk area would be useful. The main issue was noise. It is on a very busy road without double glazing ( which can't be helped ) and the noise continues to one degree or another day and night, and then you get the other quests coming in late at night early in the morning making a lot of noise without being spoken to by staff to keep it down. My advice to others would be wear earplugs! (maybe this is something that could be provided in the rooms?)
Would not reccomend
The room was very cramped and dirty with grease stains on the walls and dirt visible on the floor. I tried to call to change rooms when I checked in just after 6.00pm but didn’t recieve an answer until quarter to mudnight by which point I was alseep (in my clothes on top of the bedding as I didn’t trust that the bed would be clean) The sound insulation was terrible - it is a very busy road and an extremely noisy area which kept me awake most of the night and was woke up by the light that came flooding into the room in the morning as the blinds (which were also broken) do not block out the light at all. A terrible night’s sleep and not worth the money.
I would definitely stay here again, it's a very nice hotel and up to date.
Good value for money, always accessible hotel staff
Professional staff, safe and clean
This place is the perfect place for a single person or couple. It is close to Brixton and within walking distance of the overground. The place was clean. It was quiet and the staff were gentle and helpful. I will come back to this place and environment. Lastly, the breakfast had a variety of choices. The fruit did not look bruised and you can get beverages through the night
Compact and bijou
Room was clean and tidy. Auto check in was interesting as it was the first time for me. Instructions for this process was clear and concise. Checkout was simple and quick. Bathroom was very small and showwring was a challenge, but functional
Boiling
The room was so hot is was awful, constantly felt like I was being suffocated couldn’t wait to leave. The walls are also paper thin could hear everything going on in the rooms above and outside. Was clean- the window in the room went onto the stairway so no natural light or air.
Accommodation fair, but noisy from traffic.
Room was clean but tired and in need of a repaint. The traffic noise from outside was really bad and I didn’t get to sleep until 4am. No double glazing, just an old poor fitting sash window. I would still recommend though, but bring ear plugs.
Toilet was used When I arrived
Sometimes better if you pay more…
You get what you pay for. Cheaper than other hotels. Noise doors, creaky bed.
Very helpful and welcoming staff, clean hotel will definetly stay again and remmend to friends and family
web information shows "free off-site parking". It is misleading. I don't get any information about that before checking in. I ended up finding a public parking lot of 20 minutes walking distance. For unknown reason, hot water supply stopped when the third member of ours was taking bath.
Do not believe all that is advertised!
This hotel claims to have staff at front desk. When I arrived Sunday 11/12 at 21:30, later than hoped due to bad weather, no staff avilable. Also claim have car parking, untrue gates chained and padlocked up. Tried numerous times to ring number given on website, but would only go to voicemail. With nowhere to park was unable to stay. Did not stop them taking payment for non provision of service. Hotel.com no help either, would only give apology and inform me that manger had refused point blank to give refund.
Hot and Loud rooms
Super hot and loud rooms, the front gate is so old and I couldn’t open it when trying to get in, and I cut my thumb trying to. The receptionist came out and laughed at me which I thought was rude. The service is basically non existent after 3pm and no one responds to the emergency phone number, guests were even asking me if I knew where parking was or how to contact anyone and I didn’t know what to say.
Too Hot & Noisy!
Arriving at 8pm we stayed for 1 night in Room 4. On arrival the room was overly hot despite switching off radiator, opening the window & using a fan that was so noisy we switched it off the avoid disturbing guests. We eventually got to sleep around 00.30 with window open it remained overly hot in the room. Awoken at 06.15 by 2 staff noisily setting the dining room/lounge and holding a lengthy excessively loud conversation about a chair (!) & the male of the two complaining that he knew little about his newly acquired role in maintenance and needed help that he didn't seem to be receiving. They then left the room and were replaced by 2 female staff who held a loud conversation about a grievance with their job and whether they should inform management whilst noisily moving furniture as they seemed to be cleaning the room. We finally achieved some relatively quieter moments after over an hour by which time we were unable to return to any sleep as guests came and went around the lounge & reception area.
Great location, very clean and friendly staff for a good price. Overall everything was good except for guests slamming of the doors.
Room service was amazing Breakfast was disappointing as there was only bread yam butter and muffins I had to boil my eggs
It was really an amazing experience, staff was very friendly and helpful. The lady at reception was really helpful, such a brilliant person. Thank you so much.
Overall the front staff was super friendly. But the room was extremely small I mean small especially for what you are paying I do believe they have two locations and the one we stayed as the bathroom toilet was unusable as the bathroom was literally that small. You have to order room service to clean or bring new sheets the room would get extremely hot and the light sometimes wouldn’t work. Would pay 20-30 more for another hotel. Pro it’s near a station
When we arrived ivan was on reception and could not have been more helpful, lovely man. We had a great while we were here and everything was so clean and fresh. Would definately stay again, next time we are in the area.. Thank you🙂
NIGHT AWAY TO VISIT FAMILY
The worst hotel(if you can call it that) we have ever stayed in. Room was like a cell, and unbearably hot, no outside window. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Exactly as expected from the online pictures, clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but it was just enough space for a short weekend stay. The room was very warm and the only window opened to the stairwell to the restaurant/lounge area so no way of getting any fresh air in as was a completely enclosed room. I would definitely stay here again as was convenient and cheap but only if it was for a couple night maximum.
the bed is never for two. weak frame, makes a whole lot of noise
Great little hotel. Clean room and ensuite. Was upgraded to a double room. Lovely little lounge area. Very loud until 3am with people banging doors and talking loudly. Overall really good. Would definately stay again.
Room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Mould on the floor and dirt on the duvet. My room key unlocked every other nearby room (which I accidentally found out when trying to open the shared bathroom door and mistakingly opened the room next to it. Then tried other doors to see if this was also the case for other rooms). No staff available in person or by phone to resolve any issues (called several times over with no response and no one on-site to help). Tried addressing all these issues by email and have yet to hear back (after one initial email from them offering a partial refund since I left a note that I was booking another hotel nearby).
I liked the self service facilities which were available until 11.30pm. It was like having my own kitchen to make food when I needed it. Staff were very friendly and helpful
The room was nice, but I was at the front of the hotel, right by the main road and I must admit it was quite noisy during the night so I struggled to sleep. The sound inside also seemed to really carry so was aware of a lot of noises around the hotel. Though I did drive I didn't get to try the parking. Be aware this is only available if you check in before 3 as someone has to open a gate for you. A very friendly member of staff did tell me he would notify his colleagues that I would be arriving around 4, and so would need to have someone open it for me then - but on the day I got a call whilst in transit to say that wouldn't be possible, however I could find free, on-street parking in the road adjacent no problem. This took a while as it was a very busy road so I was driving around for a good 10-15 minutes before I found somewhere that was a short walk away. Not strictly the hotel's fault, just something to factor in to your check in time if you're driving!
Too noisy. People banging around all night and shouting.
Extremely clean, well presented rooms with really comfy beds. Would have preferred coffee/tea facilities in room but the shared facilities were also well presented and maintained in terms of stock.
Nice place unless you want to sleep
Good reception, clean room and good shower. Room smaller thsn the photo implied Noise was the main problem. No carpets in the corridor so every person coming in at 1am 2am 3am sounded loud. Doors and walls too thin to keep out the talking and laughing from late arrivals. No sleep until nearly 4am
Rooms are small and very noisy. Could be difficult if you are large or have reduced mobility. But its is clean and the lounge area downstairs is lovely. Breakfast was ok. Lovely pastrys and a small but good selection.
There were no coffee making facilities in the room. We had to park quite a distance away from the hotel. The staff were lovely and friendly, the room was really clean and fresh.
Great room
Great stay, really nice modern bathroom and a good sized bedroom. The hotel called me before I arrive to confirm my check-in time as the front desk would be unmanned for a number of hours. This was fine for me but may have caused issues if I was arriving later. When I arrived the front door was locked and I have to wait a couple of minutes before entering. Good for security I suppose.
The receptionist was extremely proactive and helpful with checking in
Lovely, clean, great atmosphere
Really handy location. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast! Will be staying again.
people making noise and screaming in the morning on the stairs The fire alarm ringing at 9 in the morning Bad attitude of the staf since they did the check-out but they were not going to return the deposit, I had to ask for it myself
Great
Great stay slept wonderful
Clean property and lovely staff. Highly recommended.
Handy if you are staying in Peckham
Really a pleasant surprise.
Modern rooms
Clean and modern room Good location and great price
Really nice staff members really help full ,
Well run, modern hotel with great service
Stayed here for a night when I took my girlfriend to see a West End show . It is well located, being only a half hour train/tube ride from the centre of London and although the room was quite small it was adequate for our purposes. The decor looked new and modern, and the way that the space has been used makes a lot out of a little. The shower was excellent - great flow and nice and hot, and touches like hand made soap are welcome. The service as excellent from the moment we arrived - we were greeted on entry by a friendly guy (sorry didnt get the name) who offered to hold our bags until check in and also put them in the room for us when it was ready (we arrived 2 hours before check in) and he showed us some of the shared facilities and the tea and coffee. We then went out into London and when we returned another guy showed us to our room, offered to show us agin the facilities and also offered use of an iron and ironing board should we need it (I did, and for once the iron was fantastic, which makes a pleasant change for hotels I have stayed in). It was nice to not have to ask about these things. Everything was explained clearly and we left the key with reception when we went out (as they are thee 24 hours). when we returned after the show the second guy was still in, welcomed us, gave us our key and that was that. In the morning guy number 1 was back and again really pleasant and friendly and check out no problem.
It was very noisy due to people chatting in reception at 4am and being on a busy road with no double glazing
The walls are hollow , impossible to get a good nights sleep .
We liked: *Price for a last minute booking. *24hr check in *Clean & modern. *Trendy hotel & friendly staff. *Location. Only 5 mins to London Bridge station from the tube over the road. *Handy Sainsbury's local 5mins walk away. *Help yourself anytime to organic coffee, ice, use of fridge & microwave in common area. *Free decent speed wi-fi. We didn't like: *The room was ridiculously hot&noisy. It was October & an average of 10 degrees outside for the duration of our stay yet we had to strip right down to underwear whenever we went in the room. Barely slept at all. Very thin walls. Lots of loud noises & shouting. We had a fan, which you can't really get close enough because it doesn't reach from the bottom of the bed& there's so little space down the sides of the bed that you can't fit a chair to stand it on.I wanted to cry it was so hot.I can't imagine what it would be like in summer! *We picked the lowest rate for a double room yet it was absolutely not as shown in the photos. No outside window. The bathroom was so small that there literally wasn't enough room to lift your arms to wrap a towel around yourself. We had to leave the bathroom to do this. *Accessibility. We didn't research this specifically as I felt I'd be able to manage. I use crutches. More a side note for anyone with the same issue; there's 6 very slippery when wet steps to the entrance, no accessible entrance that I noticed. You have no coffee in rooms so have to go downstairs with no lift.
Great place with small yet comfortable rooms and modern bathrooms. Not too far from london central.
Convenient location for visiting family studying at Camberwell Art College
Disappointing room size and noise
The staff was lovely and it was very clean overall. The room was nothing like the picture we saw when we booked in terms of size and light. The room was extremely small to the point we had to put our luggage under the bed when we weren't using it to be able to stand, the only window in the room looked at the interior of the hotel, to a staircase that goes down to the lounge and breakfast area, so every day early in the morning and late in the evening we would not be able to sleep due to the noise, we were right next to the reception area so everytime someone walked in or out we would hear it. I was tired the whole week, and even though the location was very convenient and t'ha staff were lovely I would never stay here again.
The decor was amazing and scrupulously clean. The staff are so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. All day tea and coffee in the breakfast room really useful and lots of room to get out the laptop if you don’t want to work in your room. Will definitely stay here again. Super value for money. Oh air conditioning was silent!!! What more could you want. Parking. Was local and usual luck in London parking spots required. Taxi like efficient and punctual.

Amazingly warm room and shower if you want it, options for colder stays. At the price point, breakfast looks good, convenience was good, comfort was good. Check in a bit odd, but survived. Already looked to stay again for the next visit
