We are very satisfied for the service provided by Mr. Ricky Yin in breakfast area.

Staff is very helpful and can comunicate well in English. This is my fifth stay at this hotel in last 12 months. Shirley Ma in breakfast room always welcoming to me and take soecial care of my dietry needs . Always make my stay like home.because of her i look going for breakfast. Thank you Ms. Ma.

Very happy with the hotel especially the services But needs newer carpet, wardrobe and bathroom doors, and sufficient fridge and at least one English Channel for news since there are a few of foreigners staying Air conditioner is a bit nosies

7 nights Shanghai stay

The location was good. Metro station is within walking distance and there is a shopping mall next to the hotel. We stayed on the 19th floor and we could hear the street performers singing from evening till closes to 9pm every night. The staff at the hotel were all friendly except the one standing near the carpark gantry at level one. Bedroom was comfortable and clean, breakfast variety was good for our 7 nights stay.

Amazingly well taken care and friendly staff all round..especially front desk..very helpful and a trainee staff helped us with taxi ordering although off duty..This hotel deserved all the hood reviews on their page..location is great too.Thank you to all staff at Paramount Gallery hotel.keep up the good works..

Excellent Stay

One of the best locations in downtown Shanghai. Short walking distance to subway station. Variety choices of foods in surrounding area. Comfortable bed. Staff are friendly and polite. Most of them speak English. A special appreciation to Albert Huang( customer relationship manager)who was extremely helpful and proffessional. Will return in near future.

Fantastic hotel

This was our returned visit within one year because we enjoyed our stay last time in March/April. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff is wonderful. The supervisors work hard and make sure we are well look after. In fact the senior staff recognized us as soon as we arrived this time. We will return again in a week's time because we love this little gem. The staff makes a big difference

The check-in process was quite confusing, otherwise the overall experience with the hotel is good.

My second stay in this hotel. Good location, lovely rooms, excellent breakfast with fantastic friendly staff. Shirley Ma who works in the restaurant was extremely helpful and friendly, as well as Cici Peri and Allen Dien provided excellent service during our stay. They gave us useful advices and even help us to organise some shopping. The smiling, professional staff helped us make our day every morning. Definitely come back again.

The room is decent size, also the bed is very comfortable. It jus odd the check in is at 12th floor.

For this area this ka probably one of the best you can get at this price range. Staff are lovely and attentive, rooms and very big and bed is comfy. Very convenient. Rooms might be a bit dated but overall for business and travel stays it’s not a bad option

I can’t complain. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative, which is also a positive is that the location is outstanding but traffic is horrendous.

Paramount Gallery Hotel

A convenient place to stay in. Some of the staff, especially the ones at the check-in counters are friendly.The room size is just nice, though there's sign of wear and tear. Overall, I'm satisfied with this hotel.

Mom and daughter visiting Shanghai for Summer Camp

I reserved this Paramount Gallery hotel because it was walking distance to my daughter's YK Pao School summer camp (20 min. each way). The hotel's breakfast had a good selection of Chinese/Asian and Western food, including beverages, salad, fruits, desserts, etc. I was surprised to see that not only it was close to the school, but it's a 5 min walk to a supermarket, (FreshMart), a food court with 20+ food choices, a park with coffee shops and a temple. The Paramount Gallery hotel is a block away from the metro line 2, which is amazing to move around the city. It's also two blocks away from a theater (movies), high-end shopping, restaurants, and a larger organic food supermarket (Olé). Overall, my daughter I had a good time at the Paramount Gallery Hotel. We would stay again in the future.

Location, location, location. Next to Jing'An Temple and subway. Free car parking. Breakfast included. Free internet. Good value.

Its a hotel I would like to stay again! Although we experienced lost power and plumb issue, staffs took care of them quickly with very good service.

We booked a business room and it was enormous! Although the carpets seem a bit run down, the hotel in general was well kept and clean. Breakfast buffet in the hotel was very delicious and full of choices. The hotel has the best location in Shanghai, just in front of Jing'an Temple and walk to CBD via Nanjing Street. Subway is nearby but we used taxis mostly. Lots of eateries and a nice foot spa/massage place in the same building as the hotel where we received group discount (tuangou)while paying cash. Will stay again

Wait 2 years until the road works are finished

I was allocated a room on the Jing An temple side of the property. This over looked the temple and the street. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my last experience at this hotel where there were road works happening ALL NIGHT, with the jack hammers digging up the concrete. This time, I was there on a weekend, and there was only the occasional hammering happening. This became noticeable because the Air Conditioning gets turned off at night!!! So, i had to open the window which then let all the noise in The room temp got to 26 degrees at night - in April. After a LOT of fuss on my behalf, they eventually agreed to transfer me to the other side, so that road noise didnt come in (but the air con still went off). They wanted to charge me for the "upgrade" because they said that my type of room didnt exist on that side of the hotel. I refused to pay extra when it was their responsibility to provide air con and noise-free room. In fact, when I got there, i found that it was the exact same type of room I told everyone to please prevent me from staying at this hotel again. I suggest others do the same

Nice hotel close to city centre, buses, metro, and shops. It is also easy to get to from airport. Breakfast is great.

bed sheet are old and a lots of wear off broken marks. Bad kitchen smell while having breakfast. the price cannot match to the quality.

Strategically located. Easy access and near to public tramsport.

3 nights in Shanghai

Bedroom good size, however for a non-smoking hotel the smell of smoke in room was noticable, had to keep air conditioning on try to minimise smell. Sockets by bed were poor and loose connections. Had to get them fixed. However location is excellent, beside metro line 2 . Major shopping malls beside hotel..not sure who can afford them. Breakfast good, very helpful.

The bathroom main RAIN shower was not working in my room number 1511, it was very disappointing for a 3 night stay for 2 people in the room.... it was not fun taking bath with a hand shower. TV does not have any sports channel !!!! Other room amenities were excellent & breakfast buffet was really nice also.

Pleasant surprise in Shanghai

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. On previous visits to this neighborhood I did not notice it before, as the entrance is around the corner. Our room was quite large with a very large bathroom, and wall to wall, floor to floor windows. All in a pleasant upscale neighborhood. I will return on my next trip to Shanghai.

temple hotel

Great hotel, in centre of everything. Breakfast not fantastic for westerners.

This hotel locates right opposite to the very beautiful JingAng Temple and JingAng Park. Also very close to a few major shopping centers. The room is quite large and beautiful. The lighting and system in the room is great.

Sluggish Internet connection

Internet speed was terrible, so bad that I decided to change hotels! Breakfast spread was minimal.

Location is great, near subway. Room is clean and comfortable. Bathroom is big. Asked for non smoking room, but obviously the room is smoked.

My room is 1817 on 5/11/2018. Hotel bedding sheet that I don t think hotel changed. Smell is so bad . Except this other thing is perfect . Hotel location is hard to find front door . Hotel is hide in blind if Old Navy building. You need pay attention to see otherwise you will lose. Location is in center of Jing An . 2 minutes walk to subway and Jing An temple. 5 minutes walk to Joy Guang shopping store.

Location is in center of Jin An Shanghai. But is hard find hotel because it is hide in back of Street.

Quite disappointed

The room temperature was too warm at night, could not sleep well. 30C at first night which was shocked! And very noisy every night due to the renovation outside. Requested to change the room to the other side of the building, additional charges were added!

One of my favorite hotels in Shanghai

Paramount Gallery Hotel is well located by the Jing’an Temple. Clean, comfortable, staff are very friendly. Very convenient and pleasant to be in the heart of the city.

The hotel front is actually in Yu Yuan Street. However, there is another entrance in the famous Nanjing Xi (West) Road) where everything is only a couple minutes away. two minutes to the Major Metro station Jin An Shi (Jin an temple), very convenient location. The breakfast was very good, too. All staff are warm and friendly. will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Wonderful place to stay

The hotel is very comfortable and a nice place to stay. The staff is very responsive and helpful. It is a very quiet hotel and as the weather was very bad I used it as a sanctuary from the cold and wind. I would have liked it had the hotel been closer to the Bund. The metro was nearby but, as I was fluish didn’t use it. My stay was tarnished because of a bad cold and very miserable weather. Hotel is very good regardless and a pleasant place to stay.

Happy stay

Location is great, easy access to public transportation, top end shops and foods. Room is clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is good as well. Will definitely consider stay again.

Western style breakfast was low level. Gym was too small. Check-in very not friendly. Staff speaks very little English. Doorman very helpful

Overall it was good to stay

When I booked the hotel there were 40 snack credit, but hotel did not consider at all. If it was took care of it, it would be great.

Nice location n good breakfast

have booked deluxe room with 50sqM but found the room on right side of corridor is different from the last few times i stayed on left side of lift corridor. This room is more square and have only 1 bed side table which is inconvenient should you have a partner wanted to place a mobile phone or bottle of water beside. Room configuration does not feel as big.

amazingly comfortable bed ever

Loved this hotel - bed and pillows amazingly comfortable. Great location - metro very close and easy walk to city centre and lots of restaurants. Fantastic breakfast and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Some street noise but a pair of cheap earplugs solved that. Really pleased this was the hotel we chose for our 3 night stay.

Great value for the price

Great location, beautiful room, nice large bathroom, especially for the price. Breakfast was okay. We found out that guests could order eggs from the kitchen after we were already full. It was a very nice stay and bed was comfortable.

A great find

There is one big problem with this hotel: It is hard to find, with minimal signage on the street, and the lobby is on the 12th floor. There is no sign in English on the ground floor that tells you this. But once inside, the room was large, very nicely decorated, and with a great view overlooking the Jing'an Temple. It is a very comfortable hotel in a great location. Breakfast was good too.

Short Shanghai trip

The rooms are very spacious and well equipped. Nothing missing, but the room was in need of some touch up. The major drawback for me was that the gym was nowhere as good as the images suggested. The hotel is also a little hard to find.

Nice room, great location. easy to catch a taxi and just 10 to 20 minutes to the Bund, Hongmei Lu, ect. very close to shopping.

Great hotel , eventhough there is no glamourous lobby , the room was clean and bed was comfortable, bathroom was adequate size, and toileteries was good quality . It is easier to enter from Nanjing west road entrance next to the shops instead of main entrance of this hotel

It said it included air conditioning, but when I arrived they said they had no air conditioning. But they charged me the same price for the room regardless.

Great boutique hotel with good location

Received an upgrade upon arrival. Room was superb, with the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was sufficiently catered for western and eastern taste. The hotel is just across Jingan temple metro, take the huashan walkway and the hotel is on the exit. It is very convenient if you were to use the metro from pudong airport.

Nice hotel and convenient location

Overall stay is present. Bed is comfortable and room is spacious, clean and well equipped. The only thing is there is smoke smell at certain timing at part of the room. The staff claim that it come from the spa at 11F. FYI, I'm staying at 18F

Great location...

For the price and location, it was a good choice. However front desk staff were not helpful, even rude. Hotel room was ok, but CHINA standard. Very convenient location for sure.

Decent Hotel in the Center of Shanghai

We stayed at the Paramount Gallery Hotel for one night after flying in from another province, and before heading home to the US. We were excited to stay based on the pictures and reviews, but I would rate our stay as average. The hotel's biggest plus is that it is very centrally located--right across the street from Jing'an Temple in the French Concession. There's a lot of eating places nearby, and the hotel itself is right on Nanjing Xi Lu which is great for shopping. I'm an especial fan of the French Concession, so it was nice to be smack dab in the middle. The room was in decent condition, but felt in need of an upgrade/renovation. Paint looked old, carpet kinda stained, furniture scratched, ceiling/molding peeling. Beds were really comfy, view was great, but especially disappointed with the bathroom. It was really, really small and cramped, lights were kinda flickering, and was the part of the room most in need of some kind of touch up. Service was okay, and the breakfast was decent as well with both American and Chinese options, but having stayed at other similarly priced hotels in Shanghai, we just weren't all that impressed. Overall, no big complaints, but also not impressed. Given the variety of options throughout Shanghai, we probably won't be back.

Great Location

Hotel was great, including room service. But when we requested to change rooms due to the air-conditioning being faulty at our room, front desk told us the hotel doesn't have air-conditioning. You may want to avoid staying here during the summer months, as only the heating was working!

Quality Room and Professional Service

Really nice hotel room with all amenities. For the price, it was quite luxurious. The hotel staff was outstanding and very professional. I will use this hotel again for sure.

The hotel was lovely and the staff friendly. However, the staff had relatively poor English and communication was quite difficult especially when asking for directions. The location was good with beautiful shops, gardens, and restaurants. It was close to the metro train station which made getting around Shanghai very convenient. We did choose this hotel over some others based on the pool and spacious gym. However, on arrival at the hotel we found there was NO pool and a tiny gym. The hotels.com website clearly shows what appears to be a pool and substantial fitness centre. For us this was VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING to find there was no pool.

Convieient and clean hotel and that's it.

It happened to be a warm day compare with the prvious day. There is no A/C and they said it is central controled Heated air and no way to change. So I stayed in a stuffy room for two days. It is close to subway. Not much to do in this area. Staff is friendly.

Convenient and Very nice and economical hotel.

Very nice location for doing things around the Jing'an Temple and also the Metro Line 2 just across the street. Very handy. Good room, not expensive, good service in the lobby, good help for directions.

Courteous staff; I enjoyed my stay very much; a small suggestion - the Western continental breakfast may need an upgrade. For example, consider doing a deal with the coffee shop downstairs to do morning latte orders and perhaps the inclusion of a wider range of cereals and spreads.

Good Hotel in Jingan Area.

l like the stay. Location is just 3-5 mins walk to the subway and plenty of dining options. However the room decor could be better. Lacks a comfortable sofa or chair for reading.

Most staff are great

Some staff were excellent. Others not so much. Breakfast was trying to provide too many things. Might be better to focus on a few good items of good quality and work from there. Air system lets pollution (or smoking floors' air) in. Not pleasant.
