Great overall value for money. Food is excellent. Vast beach area with quiet zones, and water sports.

Service employees need lots of training. Out the four restaurants two were closed all the time and the other two imposible to get a reservation. The food in the buffet restaurant was average. The exterior around the pools and beach was amazing.

Family friendly hotel

A large family friendly hotel. Huge grounds. Large pools and gardens and beach access. Good selection of food.

Generally a good safe environment

It was a wonderful resort and would stay here if we ever return and will recommend it to anyone. It is so beautiful there, we are just sorry we didnt get to spend more time there. You cannot walk to anything outside the resort. They will arrange a taxi for you if you want to go somewhere. They provided a shuttle to the cruise terminal. Hakem at the front desk was awesome! He spoke really good English and helped us with everything we needed. We purchased the all inclusive package (which was not much money additional), and would recommend this. There were plenty of chairs to sit either by the pool or the ocean (at least when we were just there at the end of April). They did have some activities if you wanted to participate. It looked like the kids program was really good, though we dont have little ones. They kept everything so clean and beautiful. Lots of water sports that you could do or pay extra for. There was even horse back riding (extra charge) and a guy with a camel that came around for rides and pictures (for a cost, we paid $5 euro for pictures, that he took with our camera that turned out great)

Nice stay at Soma Bay

The territory is clean, beach is wonderful, food is nice (not so great choice but cooked very well). Service in the main restaurant is perfect. Room was a bit old but big and everything was working. Staff was friendly.

Beach was one of the most amazing beaches I’ve been to in Egypt. It was a clear spotless sandy beach, surrounded by palm trees all over their long shoreline. Water is crystal clear, very convenient for all family members. Kids club was amazing, it operates from 8 am until 5 pm, it was very clean with nice activities for kids. Sara who is handling the club was lovely, she took care of the kids, and you can trust your kids are safe with her, while taking some alone time anywhere you want. Food was extremely great, in terms of variety and taste, chefs and waiters were very friendly and welcoming, providing an ultimate service to everyone. The F&B manager was ALWAYS helpful. You would always see him around the restaurant checking on everyone, he was so dynamic, making sure everybody is well served and happy. Animation team was very nice and spontaneous, although I don’t have a lot of interest in this area, but they were really nice and they understand very well how to interact with each guest. They were never too pushy, yet very encouraging, they provided a big variety of programs, from Aqua gymnastics, stretching class, mini disco for kids, entertainment shows. And all their activities were light, fun and enthusiastic.

The resort was amazing from the entrance to our room. Service was excellent. The beach was crystal clear. Best beach ever. Animation team were exceptional. We loved it and sure will come back again.

Fantastic

I've tried this hotel many times and I'm a big fan of it .. the hotel design is piece of art .. it is really royal.. the hotel in general and rooms are very clean .. staff is polite and friendly .. food is good .. they need only to improve the desserts ..

Wonderful Resort

Wonderful resort. Rooms are spacious, staff go out of their way to make our stay feel comfortable. Excellent resort to kite surf too. The main restaurant was outstanding, the other restaurant needs to up their game.

Nice stay

It was amazing. Nice hotel with very relaxing atmosphere. My only concern was with check in process as the front desk staff were not friendly. All other hotel staff were very friendly.

Relaxing

A lovely hotel with very well kept grounds. The staff are extremely helpful my husband and I had a very relaxing time. The restaurant had a good menu choice I thought the food was really good. They gave speciality restaurants, the Asian and the Lebanese were very good, the Italian and the Greek, not so good. The Atrium Bar was very nice with a pianist and Johnny’s Bar had great atmosphere, the only downside was that you could smoke in Johnny’s Bar, it would have been so much better if it was non smoking as there was an outside area were you could go to smoke. Definitely worth upgrading to Club rooms to use The Terrace room for breakfast, it’s a very opulent room small and quiet with great service, you can also use the outside terrace which is lovely. You can also keep your room until 4pm which is really helpful. The hotel also runs a complimentary airport shuttle which was brilliant.

Impeccable service, great hotel

The staff cannot do enough for you. Without exception they are friendly, courteous and their primary aim is to make sure you have a fabulous time. When we went (Feb 2017) the hotel was not full but there was a calm relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is situated in very spacious grounds and offers a very wide variety of activities on site (diving, kite surfing, windsurfing, water skiing, do-nutting, tennis, crazy golf, horse ridding, camel ridding, quad biking to name but a few. There is a well equipped gym, several beautiful swimming pools, including one of the largest in Egypt, hairdressers, fabulous spa. If something was not right in the room it was fixed almost immediately. As a single mum with a daughter I could not have felt more safe in the hotel. Can't wait to find an excuse to go back.

Very Nice hotel right on the beach

This was a couples holiday in November and was very good. Our first room was a bit noisy but having had a look round and chosen where we would prefer to be the manager Mr Hakkan Subramanian did everything possible to move us to a more suitable room and the second room we had was perfect. The food was good and the entertainment crew (especially Hero and Alex) were always a pleasure to be round. Overall a very good holiday in a lovely place. We certainly would be happy to visit again.

Very lovely resort

It was a very romantic and sentimental vacation in this nice cosy hotel. The yellow sand blends with the bluish sea which complemented our stay during the month of October with its warm weather. The hotel staff were very professional and welcoming with their smiling faces all the time. It was very pleasant experience during our stay.

Diving Holiday with this hotel as base camp

Lovely airy hotel, friendly helpful staff. Dive company ( http://www.diveintravelonline.com/centri-sub/soma-bay/divein-soma-bay?lang=en ) on jetty aside hotel, quick boat in/out each day. Days revolved around good breakfast, diving 9-3 then relax at pool or beach. Food good, both buffet and also specialised Greek, Asian, Lebanese and Italian restaurants on site. Visited at quiet time with few Russians so can't say how it would be if fully occupied.... Had only one issue with one over eager contract beach entertainment staff but raised with hotel and matter was rapidly resolved...so happy with the guest focus.

Great hotel,wonderful staff

We chose the hotel based on its reviews and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is a credit to Sentido and its friendly,caring and thorough staff,from the room staff,beach towel man,restaurant waiters and managers,to the concierge,desk and front of house management team. The rooms are large and comfortable(they will even get you a softer mattress on request!). The food was good and varied choice. Everywhere was clean and appeared well cared for.

Classy

We absolutely loved our stay at the Palm Royale. The beach is amazing. The staff are courteous and helpful. The food was great, although I'd recommend sticking with the open buffet restaurant rather than going with the a la carte restaurants. There is much less choice of food in the a la carte restaurants (we tried the Greek and Lebanese) and we felt the food itself was a bit average, as opposed to the buffet restaurant, where it was absolutely great. The facilities are all modern and very well kept. We went diving, wind surfing and parasailing with the local hotel centers and couldn't have been happier with the services we received. The only small complaint we had was that two mornings during our four night stay we woke up at around 6:30am to rather loud music from the pool area. On the 2nd morning this happened, it was soon turned significantly down.

nice but isolated

The hotel is nice..but nothing around it..you are forced to eat only in its restaurants (which giving you only samples and leaves you even more hungry...also expensive) and everything you'll need if not provided by the hotel you'll have to drive at least 50 kilometers to find any shop. i asked for a smoking room and they said all the rooms are non smoking.. you can smoke in the balcony.

Lovely hotel with its own beach.

Incredibly helpful and charming staff. Hotel immaculately clean. Facilities that we used were very good. The food was of a very good standard and the Asian restaurant is outstanding. We also enjoyed the Lebanese restaurant. The hotel was pretty empty, which added to us feeling very well looked after, but please don't look this hotel over. We had an extremely relaxed and enjoyable holiday and would go back again.

If you want to be treated like a king/queen this is where it's at! Stayed for a week and will definitely be returning.

Nice beach, hotel grounds and beach activities.

Hotel facilities are quite outdated and in a need of refreshment. Staff are welcominf and trying hard to make guests comfortable but lacking some basic skills of higher rate hotels.

Very courteous and professional staff.

I stayed there with a friend for a little under a week. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. If I have to make one comment about a shortcoming, I would say the themed restaurants (Greek, Asian, Lebanese), were "OK". I expected a bit more of a culinary delight, but the ambience more than makes up for it. Overall: highly recommended, and a well-kept secret. H.

The best resort hotel I've stayed at in Egypt. This is largely because of, first, quality of staff and service, second, facilities, and third, excellence of restaurants. A real oasis in the desert!

5 star service, 4 star food.

This hotel is perfect for winter sun as only 5 hours away from the UK. The hotel is set in large grounds. It has 5 star service from the staff and this is what makes this hotel. The food is good but not 5 star. The hotel is a little dated but very clean and well maintained.

Get away hotel in the winter not far from home

Amazing OTT hotel surrounded by desert with 1 km of pristine sandy beach wonderfull healthy palm trees with masses of tropical plants and manicured lawns plus the benefit of freshwater pools and hotwater pool of grandiose dimensions. The stables house horses to ride, a rather elderly camel and one patient donkey. There are sunken tennis courts with flood lights and massage areas by the beach as ell as in the Beauty Parlour and another hairdresser/beauty parlour in a parade of shops close to an in-house phamarcy and clinc running 24/7. There are 5 restaurants offering a waiter service and buffet service with many different cuisines-asian greek moroccan italian egyptian with a central bar in the atrium where at night a painist amuses with a babygrand piano but for the young there are hourly activities on the beach and excursions in the Red Sea-snorkelling, glass bottomed boats fishing, quad bikes jeep rides into the desert,wind and kite surfing, dinghy and catamaran sailing, tai-chi, yoga and aquarobics, beachball and other entertainments with a small children's creche and play area and more plus snack bars nearer the beach. The staff are happy and very attentive with IT support a libraryamd more. Beware Egyptian taxes on alcohol especially wine..... Amazing place altogether.

Ich würde davon abraten in dieses Hotel zu gehen. Das Essen war nicht geniessbar, die Zimmer sehr schlecht isoliert und das Entertainmentteam macht was es will.

STAFF WAS SO FRIENDLY

Wir waren über den Silvester da. Das Hotel war sehr schön geschmückt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war sehr lecker und für jedes Geschmack (vegan, vegetarisch, Fleisch, fisch). Ms.Sindy, die ich persönlich nicht kennengelernt habe, hat paar Tagen später, den Geburtstag meiner Tochter, besonders organisiert. Vielen Dank nochmal dafür! Wir waren sehr zufrieden und können das Hotel vom ganzen Herz weiter empfehlen.

Je vais essayer d'être le plus utile possible, L'hôtel est très grand et super beau, vous aurez vraiment l'impression d'être dans un 4*+, l'équipe est super sympa et très serviable avec beaucoup d'attention. les détails ci dessous Buffet : Très bon et varié ! et mieux que les restaurants à la carte qui sont un peu une arnaque (réservation 24h à l'avance, la queue pour réserver dès 8h du matin, les meilleurs plats sont payants même en all inclusive !) chambre : grande est correcte, mais mérite un sérieux coup de jeune (mobilier un peu villetiot) Piscine : magnifiques ! mais avec le vent (constant) vous allez avoir froid dès que vous sortez de l'eau ! encore plus compliqué si vous avez des enfants en bas Age, vous serez très mal à l'aise (frigorifié) même si il fait 35 dehors. Plage : la plage est belle mais c'est pas de la folie, le sable est un peu rugueux (tout le temps calme malgré ce satané vent, grâce à la baie qui protège). Point négatif, les imbéciles qui mettent leurs serviettes sur les transats des 6h du matin !!!! et pas de place disponible après …. il y une partie réservée au adultes sans musique ... Enfants : très déçu, car sur les photos on peut voir des toboggans gonflables (dégonflés 1/2j à cause du vent encore !) et donc pas grand choses pour les enfants en journée à part le kids club mais bon ..... En soirée il y a un pestacle quotidien de 30 min à 21h(en russe et allemand....) très mal programmé du fait que le buffet ferme à 22h ! Merci à l'équipe !

Horrible old hotel with uneatable food

Le manque d’implication du personnel pour essayer de récupérer mes valises qui étaient à l’aéroport. La clientèle essentiellement allemande ou des pays de l’est avec fort peu de savoir vivre.

Flot hotel

Meget flot hotel. God service og maden er af god kvalitet. Ikke så mange gæster og f.eks. pool var under renovering. Men også lavsæsonen.

My kids couldn't use the pools, the water was too cold. The inflatable pools.were only available for two days during our stay and water there was also super cold. The food is very basic, almost no fruits. Coffee is terrible, only instant coffee or american coffee at breakfast. Service is average, not very helpful and not that nice for a 5 star hotel with that price. I only liked the view and the beach. Though our family room was nice and spacious too.

Das Hotel hat alle meine Erwartungen übertroffen das Personal ist hilfsbereit, zuvorkommend und sehr menschlich. Sie tun die Arbeit, aus Herzen mit Leidenschaft man fühlt sich wie ein König. Besonders möchte ich Herr Malak, Captin Walid, Habibi, Valida, für Foto Mohamed für Parfüm Peter und einfach bei alle Bedanken.

Very friendly and helpful staff

ALL staff members were extremely friendly. They always had a smile or a joke for us und were very helpful and corteous. The hotel was very empty due to Covid and we felt secure with the measurements they took at the restaurants and bars. The sandy beach is very nice for swimming, but unfortunately there is no boardwalk to a reef for snorkeling. The buffet in the morning is always the same and the food at the stations is not hot, as they prepare it in advance, and there are no hot plates. The rooms are spacious and quite, but the mattress is a bit hard. Overall we had a very nice stay and would definitely recommend the Sentido Palm royal!

Der Palmenstrand, die ruhige Umgebung, die entspannte Atmosphäre, gute Gästebetreuung, einziges Hotel in der Umgebung, wo man ohne Steg direkt ins Wasser steigen und schwimmen kann. Ausgezeichnete Küche! Grosse, komfortable Zimmer.

L'hotel ha l'accesso diretto al mare, belle piscine ed è molto curato . Il cibo è sopra gli standard Egiziani. Io ci sono stato per fare Kitesurf e devo dire che è molto ben attrezzato . Ci sono due centri Kite uno interno, e uno esterno a circa 300 m. Io ho usato quello esterno ben organizzato e ottimo servizio di supporto per le operazioni di lancio e assistenza. ci tornerò.

Schönes Hotel an tollem Strand

Wir (Familie, Eltern 51 Jahre, Kinder 16 und 17 Jahre) haben im Hotel Sentido Palm Royale im August 2018 zwei Wochen verbracht. Das Hotel ist sehr schön gestaltet, mit Darstellungen der ägyptischen Geschichte an Hauswänden, einer eleganten Lobby und einer weitläufigen und sehr schön angelegten Garten- und Poollandschaft. Das Zimmer, Bad und Balkon sind angenehm groß und gepflegt. Die Einrichtung ist nicht neustes Design, aber hübsch und stimmig mit dem Gesamtkonzept der Hotelanlage. Wir haben uns darin wohlgefühlt. Das Essen war gut. Wer einmal im Robinson Club einige Kilometer weiter war, wird den frisch gegrillten Fisch vermissen. Es wurde zwar Fisch gegrillt, aber er hat trotzdem frittiert gescheckt. Ansonsten ist das Essen sehr gut und abwechslungsreich. Es gibt einen asiatischen, ägyptischen, mexikanischen, internationalen, italienischen Abend. Außerdem hat man die Möglichkeit (und zwar 8 Mal in zwei Wochen - dies hat uns gewundert, weil im Prospekt von 2 oder 3 Mal die Rede war) in einem griechischen, asiatischen, italienischen und libanesischen Restaurant zu essen. Das italienische und asiatische Restaurant haben wir nicht besucht, das griechische Restaurant ist lässlich, das libanesische Restaurant ist hervorragend. Beim allen Restaurants außer dem italienischen Restaurant hat man die Möglichkeit auf der Terrasse zu essen.

Sehr schwaches Wlan, ansonsten sehr schöne Anlage.

Ausgezeichnetes Hotel in Top Lage

Dass Hotel bietet einen schönen ruhigen Strand, eine gepflegte Anlage und wirklich sehr aufmerksames freundliches Personal. Ich war zum Kitesurfen da. Meine Familie für den Badeurlaub.. Beides war perfekt. Das Essen ist übrigens sehr zu empfehlen. Nur von den Spezialitäten Restaurants waren wir enttäuscht.

Aufgrund des aktuellen weltweiten Plastikproblems, finde ich es unabdingbar, dass jedes Hotel zur Verantwortung gezogen werden sollte nicht nur die eigenen Strandabschnitte, sondern auch die im Umkreis von mehreren hundert Meter, zu reinigen und vom Plastik und anderen Abfallprodukten zu befreien. Für die Umwelt und auch die Hotelgäste, die sich manchmal auch ausserhalb der Hotelalage aufhalten.

Très bel hotel agréablement fleuri et arboré plage

Une excellente semaine au Sentido Palm Royale un endroit de rêve pour les amateurs de kite surf.. Le club est top. La plage est magnifique bordée de cocotiers, l'hôtel est très agréable et le personnel attentif et accueillant, la nourriture excellente ainsi que les restaurants sauf le libanais service beaucoup trop rapide. Mention spéciale à l'Asie Delights ! La seule chose qui ne va pas c'est le wifi une catastrophe !

Großzügige Hotelanlage an herrlicher Bucht

Das Palm Royal liegt direkt an der Bucht und verfügt über einen sehr langen, hoteleigenen Strand. Wir sind in jede Richtung weitergelaufen, es gab in der Regel auch kein Problem mit dem Wachpesonal der anderen Hotels. Die Holzliegen sind frisch gestrichen, die Auflagen waren komfortabel, den Baumwollbezug fand ich eher unhygienisch. Das Personal am Strand, egal ob Handtuch-Service oder Bar war sehr höflich und sehr bemüht. Unser Superior-Zimmer war renoviert, die Betten waren extrem hart, mir hat es gefallen.Das TV-Angebot mit einem deutschen Sender eher nicht auf deutsche Gäste ausgelegt. Bad und Zimmer immer sehr sauber und nett dekoriert. Das Hauptrestaurant habe ich eher unterdurchschnittlich für ein 5Sterne-Haus erlebt. Viele wichtige Führungskräfte, bemühtes Personal! In Teilen bloß eben schlecht geführt...es gehört eben auch dazu russischen Familien Einhalt zu gebieten, wenn beide Kinder fröhlich ein Kriegsspiel auf dem Tablett in voller Lautstärke spielen...da wäre Führung und kein Wegschauen gefragt. Das Angebot der Speise war OK, aber eben auch nicht mehr. Liebhaber von aufgebackenem Brot am Morgen und Hackfleischgerichten in allen Variationen am Abend werden dieses Hotel lieben. Das ich den O-Saft mit zwei Euronen zahlen muss, kenn ich aus anderen 5-Sterne-Häausern nicht, gleiches gilt für Fisch am Grillbuffett. Die Salate waren frisch und haben gut geschmeckt. Die frischen Nudelgerichte waren auch sehr lecker.. Das WLAN ist eine Katastrophe!!

Lamentable.

Mi novia fue un día a visitarme. Después de cenar a las 11,30 mi chica que trabaja en una agencia de viajes CWT quiso conocer las zonas comunes. No la permitieron, nos trataron mal y obligaron a ir al lobby. En el lobby teníamos todavía dos bebidas, y me obligaron a pagar un taxi o echar a mi novia. No la dejaban ni terminar su bebida. Con lo que pague una noche para ella, mucha más cara que el precio de lo que yo pagué. Experiencia pésima, ni en el más barato de los hoteles viví eso. Afortunadamente a través de la compañía en la que trabaja nos vamos a disponer a tomar acciones legales, y escribir un artículo sobre el trato.

Total zuvorkommender, aufmerksamer und sympathischer Service runden das sehr schöne Hotel mit allem für Wassersportler benötigen Komfort ab! Sehr empfehlenswert!

Jeder Zeit wieder!

Schneller und freundlicher Checkin. Schöne und saubere Lobby. Das vorab gewünschte Zimmer zu 100% erfüllt, sauber gross mit allem was man braucht. Strand sauber und schön. Leider kein eigenes Hausriff, aber man kann vom Hotel aus eine Schnorcheltour buchen und bekommt 3 verschiedene Riffe zu sehen. Der Aussenbereich ist sehr schön angelegt mit vielen Palmen und alles sehr gepflegt und sauber. Beim essen ob im Buffet Restaurant oder in den Spezialitäten Restaurants war alles hervorragend und sehr schmackhaft. Hier hat man die Qual der Wahl. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Können es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

An Awesome resort!

I spent a week here and I very satisfied with every things! Room is very clean and spacious and all the staffs are very hospitalized! We love this resort very much, hope we could come back soon.

Orientalische Oase mit Herz

Das Hotel überwältigt mit seinem orientalischen Charme. Die Atmosphäre ist ruhig und freundlich. Das Gebäude ist stil- und geschmackvoll gestaltet, mit viel Marmor und Mosaik, vielen Bildern, Verzierungen, alten Möbelstücken etc., mit Liebe – und Sauberkeit – bis ins Detail. Das Zimmer mit Balkon ist gross, das Doppelbett riesig und dennoch bequem. Auf dem Bett: ein aus einem Frottetuch lieblich geformter Schwan. Die technischen Einrichtungen funktionieren alle. Nur das Gratis-WLAN ist etwas gar langsam. Das Buffett im „Stella“ hat 1 Woche lang jeden Tag einen anderen Themenschwerpunkt. Die Gerichte gefallen nicht nur dem Gaumen, sondern auch dem Auge. So waren z.B. viele Dessertstücke schon fast kunstvoll gestaltet. Hut ab vor dem Küchenpersonal, unglaublich, was die hier für so viele Gäste in dieser Top-Qualität auf den Tisch bringen! Weitere Abwechslung bringen die 4 Themenrestaurants. Die Gestaltung dieser Lokale ist gelungen, genauso wie der Service und das Essen. Man wird hier bedient, und es ist ruhiger als im „Stella“. Strand und Wasser sind herrlich. Strandliegen hatte es genügend. Gerne schlenderten wir auch durch den Hotelpark. Die Anlage ist mit vielen Planzen und Gewässern, Kunstfelsen, Brücken, rustikalen Laternen etc. aufwendig gestaltet und eine Oase für sich, sauber und gepflegt. Das Personal, überall, ist sehr freundlich, der Kontakt immer sehr herzlich. Die Leute sind sehr bemüht. Es ist alles tip top sauber. Insgesamt: Eine orientalische Oase mit Herz.

Wir waren nun das zweite Mal in diesem Hotel und das Gesamtpaket passt. Für uns wichtig ist die Lage an der Bucht und die Nähe zur Kitestation. Das Hotel selber punktet mit großen, sauberen Zimmern, der sehr schönen Strandanlage und auch das Essen hat uns besser geschmeckt als im Vorjahr. Der Service war aufgrund der guten Auslastung etwas überfordert, alles in allem ist das Hotel aber sehr empfehlenswert.

Schöne Hotelanlage

Es war bereits unser zweiter Aufenthalt im Palm Royale. Im Vergleich zu vor zwei Jahren hat sich nicht viel verändert. Dieses mal war es etwas voller, was allerdings an der Jahreszeit liegen kann (November anstatt Februar). Das Hotel ist eines, wie man sie viele in Ägypten findet. Allerdings doch in gehobenem Niveau! Positiv: Die Anlage ist sehr schön und wirklich sehr sauber! Das Personal ist freundlich und nicht zu aufdringlich (auch am Strand sind die "Verkäufer" abzuwimmeln). Das Essen ist abwechslungsreich (jeden Abend ein anderes Motto). Sehr zu empfehlen ist die Oriental Night freitags. Negativ: Die betten sind wirklich sehr hart und da hat sich auch leider seit 2 Jahren nichts verändert. Wir hatten dieses mal leider ein Zimmer bei dem man den Lärm aus der Lobby gehört hat. Hier fehlt eine Tür, die den Zimmertrakt von der Lobby trennt!! Abends konnte es vorkommen, dass die Kellner etwas überfordert waren und man mal auf die Bestellung der Getränke etwas warten musste. Alles in allem ein schönes Hotel, dass ich weiterempfehlen kann. Beheben sollten sie definitiv die unbequemen betten!!
