Its good it provided what we needed for the night.

Great location but average room.

Somwhat chaotic checkin but with a phone call all was settled. Room was ok though a bit small. The kitchenette was crammed in one corner. Lack of A/C was an issue with sun beaming in the north faci g window. The ceiling fan wasnt up to the task. Bathroom was very clean and the bed was comfy and had excellent sheets and pillows. Nice grounds and pool. Quiet area.

A little bit out of date

Basic accommodations, no major pros or cons. Little far from town amenities

Communication with staff was difficult because we weren’t capable of phoning them when checking in. We waited for quite a length of time to get our key and get checked in. The owners did eventually show up and they were very accommodating. If we had the ability to call them with an international phone we probably would have been okay. We were able to try and communicate with the owners via web conversations but we had to response that way.

The staff were great with an easy check in. Lovely and clean, much better than most places I've stayed in. The unit was a bit dated and the bed was uncomfortable. The big down side I had, had nothing to do with the motel but rather the booking site. If I had gone direct I would have saved a considerable amount.

Room smells badly of urine. Pillows have squashed bugs on them. The room we are in is in need of o good clean along with the hairdryer handle which is all sticky.

Room was dated, old facilities in bathroom,No relaxing place to sit.

Property was well presented

A very comfortable hotel with sea views, close to restaurants and shopping. Directly opposite the spa pools which was great.

The team at palm motel waihi made checking in and out very easy. The weekend team were very welcoming and friendly making our stay all the more enjoyable

The host was welcoming and the property/room was nice and clean.

The room i stayed at was clean and presented well. When i booked the room it mentioned it can sleep 3 people, however it only had a standard queen size bed.

The propertys pool needed re lining not enough loungers and most were very old, the noise from the main road was very noisy for the money.everything else was old and beeds a re- vamp, friendly owners 👍

What a lovely couple Alison and Richard were ( apologies for any incorrect spelling of names), Very welcoming and exuding kindness which is refreshing in these stressful Covid times. The pool despite not being heated was actually warm enough for a long swim and the spa pool which was very clean was a bonus after my swim. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this lovely motel- my only regret was that we didn't use the picnic table in the pleasant garden for dinner as we decided to go out for a very mediocre dinner in a local restaurant. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

Property was so close the the hauraki rail trail and easy to get to. Unit was clean and well equipped. Great locked storage for our bikes and the spa was perfect! Host was a little over-enthusiastic and for some reason entered our room while we were out for the day (to open windows) Would definately stay again but request noone entered our room.

Old place bern looked after nice and warm priced perfect for what you get very clean and tidy vefy nice people that own it highly recomend it

The heater in the unit switches off all the time. We have stayed in this same motel and unit twice now, but both times we were freezing. We feel this is totally unacceptable for winter temperatures. Also, there is no curtain over the toilet window and I couldn't help wondering if someone was able to see in from the caravan above the unit.

Had more amenities than we expected... and is so close to where we needed to be! Everything above expectation, except the heater that goes on then off. But otherwise a wonderful place to stay.

No fuss to check in. Owner friendly & helpful. Room a little small. Had to wash dishes in a plastic tub as no kitchen sink but clean and tidy and perfect for me for a night stop over after the Rail Trail.

Great little motel for a pass through

The Palm Motel had everything we needed. I came down sick during our stay. We asked for another night so I could get more rest. It wasn't a bother for them. They made sure we had everything. We would most certainly stay here again.

We didn't like noise near the highway only but the place was nice and clear.

The hosts were very welcoming - the motel is near good walking tracks and cafes , supermarkets etc - the only downside was that there was no kitchen sink, however a bowel, detergent and brush etc was provided- the room was very clean

Nice place to stop

This is an older building that is well cared for and very comfortable. It is also clean to perfection. We enjoyed the pool and time to relax. Hiking, touring and places to eat are close by.

Very lovely owners! The kids had a great time in the pool. Some cool pool toys for them to play with. Good location for Waihi town.Owner rang about a toy being left behind not long after we left, so we could go back and collect it. Bed was super comfy and very good size room! We'll defiantly stay again!

Accommodation was a generous size. Very clean and comfortable.

It was okay but there were no lounge chairs in the unit so nowhere comfortable to sit to watch TV.

Main light bulb a bit dull. Woild be nice to have a sink in the kitche or at least a jug to fill the kettle.

Very disappointed. Very noisy with with permanent tenants that have no consideration for other paying customers .especially at night. Cars reving .people yelling an shouting .people stomping past our door late at night. Wouldnt recomend it an wont be staying again

This is a nice little hotel right off the highway making it very convenient for travellers. There is a pool, a hot tub and wifi. Continental breakfast provided for $15 NZ. Order when you arrive and the bring it right over so its ready to go for morning! Alison and Richard are super friendly people and it was a pleasure to meet them!

Very tired and basic unit. Stayed 1 night to be handy to rail trail.

'Tiny House Living' in Waihi

very clean but has to be the smallest unit we have ever stayed in. 2 KSing beds, a tiny table and 2 chairs, cupboard withmicrowave and little fridge, and barely room on the floor for our suitcase. Bathroom was space challenged. I suspect it is normally used as an extra bedroom for the next unit. Very pleased we only stayed there one night. The staff were pleasant.

Good Hotel for great price

Easy checkin, big family unit, but bathroom super tiny. Curtains were mouldy and sticky due to humid climate.

Clean, tidy and plenty of room for 3-4 people. Like the curtain screen between main bed and single bed area for privacy. Good facilities with microwave (although this hadn't been cleaned), toaster, jug, fridge etc. Main bed was a bit hard for our liking though. Close to a few shops. Bit noisy with trucks throughout the night - even though a little bit off the main road. Overall good place for a night.

It was close to the Rail Trail

This was a nice comfortable motel. Handy to the train and the rail trail.
