Lovely hotel - a few tweaks and it would truly be five star.
The Hotel Dama is beautiful! The front desk staff is pleasant and helpful. Our room was lovely (though a bit inefficient for two large bags). It is also very well situated for walking to all the monuments, restaurants and shopping. We were disappointed that the onsite restaurant was Peruvian. Why, in the heart of Roma? Also, though the garden and pool area is a beautiful spot to relax, the poolside service was not good. We were overall content with our stay.
Always a joy to stay here. The pool is a gem
Clean and beautiful hotel, very good service. Anything you need is in walking distance. Highly recommended place
A gem in Rome
Great location near Piazza Popolo, Spanish Steps and Villa Borgese. The staff are very nice and helpful. We didn't eat at the restaurant but breakfast was expensive We would stay there again
Xmas in Rome
No spa or gym but under construction Construction noise from across street loud Food in restaurant good Love hotel
Beautiful hotel
Wonderful staff
The staff were wonderful. They arranged to ship a package home for us so I didn’t have to carry it as we continued in our travels. Waitstaff was fabulous
Hotel Staff was amazing; especially the restaurant staff!!
Excellent service. Friendly staff!
I usually love staying at this property but the noise from the construction of the new spa, the inattention of the staff at Pacifico ( the hotel's bar and restaurant) and the lack of cleanliness ( housekeeping) will make me rethink my options next time I come to Rome.
Worst ever experience!!!
Worst service, dingy place. Not even 1 or 2 star. Please avoid as they have no concept or standards of a hotel.
The staff from reception to house cleaning are charming friendly and helpful. A wonderful place to stay
Really gorgeous hotel, super clean and very stylish. Lovely staff, very helpful and a great location to walk to many of the historic sites. The only disappointment is that the pool isn’t heated but I will be back. Loved it
The reception staff and all front of house are friendly charming and helpful. Returning to this hotel each time I’m in Roma is always a treat.
the staff at reception and room service are warm and hospitable. It is a joy returning to this hotel each time.
Rome's beautiful, inviting and inspired oasis.
Incredibly beautiful property as an oasis in an incredibly beautiful city. The rooms are extremely well appointed and furnished. Pacifico - the bar and restaurant are equally beautifully designed - great settings for the start, middle and end of days exploring and being immersed in Rome. In the Summer, the outdoor areas are one's living room in Rome. The staff are lovely and incredible - a team complimenting the place complimenting the city. Well done and grazie per tutti!
Best stay in rome
Best hotel in Rome. This was such a relaxing vacation
The property is lovely, well located, great decor, good food. The housekeeping and service though needs a lot of works and for a 5 star hotel this was a bitter disappointment.
Great location, would recommend to others
A unique property with fantastic amenities ring at the heart if Rome. The staff we very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Rome for the rugby.
A pleasant boutique hotel well situated in Rome.
Fabulous hotel in beautiful Roma
Lovely boutique hotel. Great service and breakfast. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Good location. If you want a quiet room at the weekend ask for the 3rd floor as there is a night club underneath the hotel.
Random Upgrade
I got upgraded to the Dama Suite, which was one of the highlight of my trip.
Totally charming hotel in a great location
This is a charming hotel where the staff could not have been any more friendly or helpful. The swimming pool was a total luxury and so welcome each afternoon after a hot morning’s sightseeing.
Paradise
Have not got one bad thing to say about this place it was like a eden of paradise in the centre of Rome and every single one of the staff tried to go out of there way to make our break as special as it was could not recommend this place enough can’t wait to go back !!!!!
Room and property were not well cleaned - dirty floors, walls, bathroom, even dirty glasses in the room. Appearances in common areas not kept up.
This hotel has the most beautiful rooms and a wonderful pool. A jewel in the Roman summer
Great location. Very nice and attentive staff. Pool was a great asset
The staff was excellent especially when it came to along dinner reservations and helping us get tickets to the ferry to Capri. Love this place. Love the salt water pool
The property is amazing. The guest rooms are huge and the public spaces are beautiful. The outdoor area is also a winner with plenty of seating for cocktails or lunch al fresco. It was an area of Rome I was not well acquainted with, but ended up loving. Lots of great restaurants all within walking distance. No issues here whatsoever.
We received a call two hours before the check in informing us about a water issue in our suite. The alternative is to provide us with a down grade then an upgrade for the second night which was not convenient. Also, we were offered a suite in their sister hotel. Both offers were not satisfactory.
Beautiful property in a good location in central Rome. Walks were pleasant to every part of the city. Great food and shopping is steps away. But again this isn’t unique. I did not appreciate the attentiveness of some of the bar staff. Very slow to show up and take orders. Recommendations were not in line with expectations, but rather focused on what’s close and convenient. Rooms need some attention. For example the shower frame leaked water into the bathroom floor the last day. And the toilet paper holder was loose the whole time. Nobody paid attention. And they’ll charge you 3€ for a coffee capsule in the room, when you’re paying 400$ a night. Ridiculous...
Very good experience. Staff and building wonderful
A bit relaxed for a converted building .
a bit too relaxed. used to be more buttoned up. a bit of a disappointment. they recommended a VERY good local restaurant - the only highlight.
Charming and comfortable.
The design of the hotel is beautiful. The rooms are clean, comfortable and newly renovated. It's a little strange that the restaurant is operated separately so there isn't really a common area where you can sit and relax. Staff were helpful, ordering taxis, and setting up historic tours. Breakfast was delicious.
Fantastic Hotel and Experience!
Great if you don't get room 11
Our last trip at Palazzo Dama was cancelled 2 days before our arrival due to a water leak and water damage, which I mentioned at Check in. We were brought to your room which was handicapped accessible (we were not told so and my husband and I are are both very tall) but the real issue is that room 11 is next to the bar and we heard music and loud voices until 3 am! If you can another room, the place is great but they should have told us on both accounts
Fantastic Hotel - Valeria Great Service
It's a former private mansion overlooking the Tiber River, a smaller boutique hotel in a great location. You can walk out the door without being inundated with tourists but are close to everything you want to see. Valeria was at the front desk during our stay and was so helpful!! She had great restaurant ideas. We didn't want the tourist classics but authentic restaurants Italians go to. She booked them for us at a moments notice. Our stay was fantastic. We'll be back.
Great start to Italy honeymoon
I booked without and recommendations, and we loved it. Beautiful lobby, bar, restaurant, and pool. We booked the lowest priced room and it was good sized with large marble bathroom/shower. We did not have a view but we were not looking for one, as we were tourists most the day. Great location, walk or quick cab to all tourist stops. Our favorite was the bar/lounge. Not the cheapest drinks but the room is amazingly grand. I thought it was well with the cost per night
So disappointed with this hotel - noisy and dirty
So disappointed with this hotel, it is a beautiful building with so much promise but it feels tired and is so dirty. Additionally there is a nightclub in the hotel - totally inappropriate for the style of hotel if you really are bothered about non-clubbing guests. My advise to this hotel would be to focus on either quality stay for your guests (the building lends itself to that) or focus on an "ibiza vibes" type of hotel so that those who stay are essentially there for the club as well - that way I am sure everyone will be happy. As it is, it just isn't working at all - clearly the hotel and club are not attracting the same audience and essentially you wont sleep due to the club. We had to move rooms - and although the 2nd room was fine we lost an entire nights sleep due to the club beats reverberating through the villa hotel. On top of that the place really does need to be cleaned properly, again I think this is a knock on effect from the the focus to the nightclub rather than the hotel guests. So disappointed and feel that for a short stay in Rome it almost ruined our time in this wonderful. Be very cautious about booking this hotel if you are looking for a lovely hotel and expect to sleep at night - that is usually a given, but not in this case.
A little gem in Rome
Wonderful boutique hotel in the center of Rome. Beautiful building, decorated with the utmost sophisticated taste.. staff is wonderful, rooms are beautifully decorated and functional, bathrooms as well.. A few remarks, the breakfast service is rather slow.. I think it is understaffed.. the week ends some (minimal) noise from the rasputin, but manageable. The resto of the hotel is fantastic, although I regret that they changed from Italian to Peruvian .. the bar is probably the most beautiful in town.. great atmosphere specially in the week end..and wonderful staff.. I will be back, love this place..
Not realy a Boutique Hotel
My room (303) was in the attic, with a very small window at the top of the ceiling that could not be reached without climbing on a chair. Breakfast is a minimal continental breakfast, mortadella, Cured ham with bread, butter; some commercially made jams, yogurt, cereal and some frit, nice for a continental breakfast NOT for so called Boutique Hotel. Eggs are extra! No Bathroom just a (nice) shower, with low water pressure and hot water OK (you don’t need the mix with cold in order to be comfortable; it’s just never get really hot). I guess that if the price tag was 25-30% lower all of that could be well tolerated because overall the hotel is nice and welcoming, but if you compare it to its neighbor boutique hotels at the same price level- there is much to be desired
Very unfriendly. Felt like we were bothering them when asking for dinner reservations and just not accommodating.
Very pleasant corner of Rome
Our stay was very nice. Short walks, amazing shops, restaurants and parks. The hotel is a tribute to the city from the art, the sounds to it’s design and decorations.
Quirky elegance
Lovely and elegant hotel with a certain quirky elegance
Luxury retreat
This hotel isn’t cheap and was for a 25th anniversary weekend in Rome. Brilliant service from a very attentive and numerous staff, good location, peaceful rear garden with pool and generally providing a good feeling of living the high life. Niggles were the shower being weak and coffee in the room was part of the mini bar offer cost €4 for a Nespresso coffee (in my opinion coffee in the room should always be included and especially when paying such a high roo rate). We’re normal people with normal lives but the majority of the guests (which is a small number with only a few rooms) are very affluent. A bit of advice is that you might want to bring some nice clothes when going for breakfast (I was a bit out of place in my shorts and t-shirt!). But if you want a treat don’t let this put you off ... it’s not at all stuffy.
Decent but not up to proper standard
We reserved a "junior suite" but were given a normal room. Also, the carpeting was heavily spotted. In addition the front of the hotel faces onto an alley or courtyard. I wouldn't recommend it.
Beautiful Rome hotel
Overall a great stay, beautiful boutique hotel, great room and bathroom with good quality toiletries. Great bartender! Only reason I'm not giving a perfect score is a water outage on two occasions! They only lasted a few minutes but still hard to fathom this at a 5* property.
Hotel Next to Main Road
The hotel was located to a very noisy main road. The staff were very friendly. The room was a 3 star or less. The head board was covered in white stains and the carpet had more dirt on it than the bottom of my shoes. The bathroom had bad water stains on the walls. The shower had no water pressure. There was no free water or tea or coffee in the room to drink. Everything cost money. The night life and traffic were extremely noisy at night which made it difficult to sleep. The breakfast didn't include any eggs which also had to be bought. The door staff were never there to open the main door, as he was always found talking to the receptionist. a damage deposit of 100 euros a night was taken prior to the stay. This was certainly not a 5 star hotel. We would not recommend this to anyone
Swanky hotel that's missing the fundamentals
The hotel presents really swanky and nice. Unfortunately, some of the fundamentals of being a great hotel are lacking. The hotel air conditioning is lacking considerably. It got VERY warm in our hotel room overnight. The hotel staff are either the best at their job - reception especially - or they are snooty and pretentious. Overall, I would recommend another hotel before paying the price for this one. The Sofitel was cheaper, had a bigger room and were just as accommodating.
Great location away from the crowds but with great access to all the fun spots. Very cool boutique hotel feel with a fantastic staff. Our concierge was amazing and set up so many great things for us. Now doubt this will be our go to Rome hotel
EXCELLENT HOTEL BEST EXPERIENCE
great staff, very friendly who will give you very good recommendations for local eats - also can organise a lot of the things you may want to do in Rome as well. V good location, close and walking distance to many attractions (10-20 min walk maximum, 2-5 minutes in a taxi). Great outdoor area and very clean and modern rooms. would definitely stay here again if we return to Rome.
Perfect location!
Wonderful hotel, beautiful landscapes and surroundings. Best location.
A beautiful and luxurious find right close to ever
A wonderful hotel, the decor, the facilities ( an outdoor pool right in the center of Rome) . The staff couldn't do enough for you especially the reception staff. It is a boutique hotel so expect boutique prices . The breakfast included was lovely, breads, cheeses, fresh fruit, cakes etc. The bottle of Prosecco left in our room was a lovely touch too. They even put slippers out every night for you, so for us a real treat and as we had decided to stay a little longer than a normal 'city break' duration it was exactly what we needed & wanted. We would recommend this hotel if your budget will allow its worth every penny!
Disappointed
The hotel is rated at 5 stars. There is a restaurant in the pool area where club music is played until 1:30AM. The bass resonates throughout making sleep impossible. The restaurant makes errors in billing. They need to decide if they are a 5 star hotel or a night club.
terrible management
We stayed there over a week end but the hotel had the brilliant idea to book 2 private events on the saturday which led to all communal parts (pool area as well) blocked for the entire saturday from 11am till 11pm. They also blocked the communal areas 2 days earlier for another event. totally unacceptable! Also, terrible room service food
Totally chic, totally fabulous
We spent 4 nights at Palazzo Dama. The hotel is wonderful, as is the location. The pool is just perfection after wandering around the city in the heat. I would recommend this hotel if you love plush, luxury, being surrounded by fashionista type Italians. Molto, molto bene!!!
Great location and design
In a secluded location, but surrounded by upscale and lively streets - central, yet quiet. Beautiful interior - modern and very inspiring. Luxury boutique feel with sophisticated spaces and a stunning outdoor pool area. Breakfast had a nice selection of premium choices and good coffee served in a gorgeous room - great way to start the day. Staff was very service oriented and professional. Lots of little details that made the stay exceptionally comfortable. Overall the hotel felt very special - drinks at the hotel bar were amazing! If I could offer Management any feedback, I would suggest elevating the air quality - during our stay, the hotel smelled of deep fried food and was quite warm (our room was air conditioned). The air took away from the otherwise refined ambiance.
Beautiful hotel to match a beautiful city
Beautiful hotel with stylish interiors. Terrific sitting areas on first floor from the bar to breakfast room to restaurant to outdoors space with pool. Great neighborhood, close to everything but away from the noise and commercial feel. By the river and piazza poppolo.
Stylish Boutique Hotel in Rome
Loved the Palazzo Dama- Extremely stylish boutique hotel in a great location. Close to everything but also extremely private. I didn't want to be in a big hotel in a touristy area and this was perfect. Also loved that it had a great restaurant and beautiful swimming pool in the courtyard.
Most Magical Hotel in the heart of Rome
Impossible to do any better. Service, decor, food, pool area, art, everything. Can't wait to return. We come from the hospitality/resort business and this is perfection.
Beautiful Hotel
Beautiful Hotel with pleasant friendly staff. However, beware it is a nightclub Thursday thru Saturday nights. Expect a lot of noise from midnight to 3:30am those nights. My pregnant wife and I didn't get much sleep those nights. Luckily we were jet lagged anyway. I put in a complaint and the manager offered me a free upgrade to their best suite next time we visit. Otherwise great. Good breakfast and food, but whenever I ordered room service they seemed to be out of whatever I ordered and would always have to substitute. That might have just been because March was the off season for them. Location was good for us. Short walk to trains, buses, and even some shopping and attractions. Overall we enjoyed our stay except that we couldn't sleep a few nights.
Excellent location and facility
Really enjoyed using the hotel as a base to explore the city, its a walk to all areas (except Traverse - which is a 7 minute cab ride). Very comfortable and homely, the satff are knowledgeable and eager to help.
Everything was great, only complaint was that the shower water never got real hot. Staff was very helpful and did everything possible to assist us. Will definately stay there next visit!
Boutique hotel close to Tiber and Piazza Popolo.
Charming small hotel with outdoor pool in converted house retaining impressive character with a modern twist.
We stayed for three nights, and enjoyed the room very much. The bellhops were not very well prepared to help with bags or taxis but otherwise it was very comfortable.
Classy palace which has only been open for a year
I booked for four nights from Monday to Friday in this luxurious hotel for my husband's birthday. It is not far from the river and the metro so you can walk or ride to the joyous places in Rome- St Peter's Square, the Colosseum. We were treated like royalty and were rather overcome at times by chandeliers and suited doormen. The room was fantastic and we ate in the restaurant one night, the meal was exquisite. Drawbacks- you need to have money to stay here, they change the towels too often and the background music can be intrusive. If you are younger than us, stay at the weekend when their night club is open.
Modern elegance and cool coexist
One of the best hotels in Rome - and I do not dole out superlatives lightly. It is very hard to make modern elegance cool but Palazzo Dama succeeds with flying colors. From the incredible dining room and bar to the pool terrace to the wood-paneled bar, the common spaces are extraordinary and the rooms do not disappoint either. We will be back.
Spent 3 nights here with my wife for our 20th year anniversary The hotel and staff are fantastic and would recommend the Palazzo Dama to anyone thinking of staying in this amazing city We will be going back
Excellent
Beautiful and terrific location
excellent hotel
this hotel is cozy, clean, comfortable, romantic, in excellent condition and the staff are very helpful. i definitly recommended
Excellent Hotel
Enjoyed our stay, returning at the end of our trip.
An oasis in the city
The Palazzo Dama is a fantastic hotel. The location is central to Rome, a block from the Tiber river and two blocks from the piazza deal Popolo. It's central enough that you can walk to any of th sites, but secluded so you don't feel in a tourist trap. The hotel rooms are great (spacious beds, large bathrooms, great wifi), but the highlight is definitely the beautiful courtyard and pool. It is an oasis in the city. This hotel is great for a breakfast in the morning, followed by touring, then afternoon relaxation by the pool before making dinner plans. The only negative would be other guests with unruly children- while several families were there with children (the majority of which were great and well behaved) the ones with children screaming and yelling and splashing everywhere were not appreciated. The hotel staff was quick to remind them to settle down.

Lovely hotel
