Wouldn't stay here again. Very noisy. No sink to wash dishes -just bathroom basin. Pool etc. was across a very busy road Shower soap dish broken No shampoo or conditioner on hand Ok for a sleepover when travelling

Good budget accommodation that was clean and spacious. Easy parking but you would definitely need a car to get around if staying here.

Good basic motel that allows you to bring your pet dog, which is a rare find. Very dated rooms and bathrooms but clean enough.

The motel is located next to the state highway, convenient to access, to 15 minutes from the Waitomo caves. The host, Margeret is very friendly and helpful. She provided milk when we checked-in, and also offered to dry our wet cloth that we got from the previous activity. Although the facility is not the newest but it's very clean and convenient. I am happy that we stayed there for the night.

We had a very enjoyable stay: friendly staff, very quiet room with no traffic noise. Clean room,comfortable bed and nice bathroom with high pressure shower. Wifi would have been useful plus a small jug, so we can refill the kettle as the bathroom sink is too small to fit the kettle under the tap.

Staff very friendly and helpful its a bit rundown but was very clean and we needed an urgent stay pool area and spa was ok bit rough looking from what photos are online thats what drawn my daughter to pick hotel she wasnt to keen to swim

Aged property, could do with an update. No face flannel nor toiletries other than 2 small soap bars. Ok for my requirements of an overnight stay. Overpriced.

Great welcome

An old school 60's style motel.

The manager was so wonderful and helpful. I would recommend this motel to any travelers. It was centrally located to most of the sightseeing in the North Island, kiwi house, glow worm caves, geo thermal geysers, botanical gardens, shopping and places to eat. Our bed was very comfortable, the other 2 which the kids used were too soft for them so we took them back to their tiny house. Check in and check out was extremely easy. I give these accommodations a 10 plus.

We enjoyed our stay there.It was clean and tidy. The kitchen and bathroom could do with a bit of a renovation. Everything else was fine.

The staff were lovely and welcoming. Good size units with comfy beds. pretty tidy and clean with everything you need. Easy location and quiet considering on the main road. Our kids were pretty excited to see the playground (trampoline & swings), unfortunately they looked like they were about to collapse & pretty dangerous. Would've been great if they were usable. Otherwise, lovely stay.

A quiet comfortable stay

Enjoyed our overnight stay, the unit looked very new & clean, the shower was great & the bed comfortable.

This was an overnight stay in a humble motel. It provided everything we needed. Welcoming, clean, everything provided, quiet.

The property definitely needs renovations and upgrade. The kitcen is very outdated and the kitchen cupboard was dirty, and some of the utensils were oily and dirty. The lady at the reception was helpful and nice, and the bed was comfortable, but apart from that the rest of the room wasn't up to standard. The cost was $150.00 per day, and it wasn't worth the money you pay for. The shower recess was small, and you can’t adjust the shower head.

The facilities were beautiful was as if we had flew to the Pacific Islands, rooms were spacious, tidy and clean and the staff were awesome very friendly. I will be coming here again and again.

Great staff

We had a wonderful stay ! Very friendly staff that went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, even our washing which we were grateful for as we’d had a long day cycling! Quiet surrounds and the pool was very welcome. Highly recommend staying here!

Outdated with flying bugs

Front desk staff was nice and friendly. But the rooms were too outdated. Each room had sufficient flying bugs that crept up at night to help you stay awake. Overall our stay gave us the creeps.

The pool and spa were a bonus

The staff was nice and friendly, however, the bed linen was dusty that we start to cough during the night. We were not able to use their swimming pool as they will open it at the time for our check out time. 11am - 9:30pm when it should be open in the morning before your visitor check out. Most of the time we are out to visit other tourist spot around the area and morning is the only time we will have time to use the pool to relax before we check out.

Nice and clean, family friendly

Margaret was super friendly. We had a nice 2-bedroom with kitchenette. Not super fancy, but clean and had everything we needed. Good location only 5 minutes from the Kiwi house and 15 minutes from the Glow worm caves. There's a small pool, which was nice.

The welcome and check in were exceptional. Margaret was absolutely lovely. The room was great. Well presented and very clean. Only complaint is that is quite noisy and there was a group that were up all night and so bad we left at 4am

Nice place to stay and great customer service

The unit was clean, staff friendly and the important items such as beds and pillows were good. However with concrete block walls, old louvre windows etc the decor was decidedly 1980s.

service was amazing, had a great conversation with the receptionist. the motel has all you need. overall pretty satisfying. free parking on site. i had dinner right outside my room with the sun setting. very nice peaceful area.

Nice little place, not flashy but its good for the price and has everything you need for a casual stay. Also lovely customer service at the from desk, very friendly and helpful :)

At check in I was not given any instructions on where my unit was (motel is split across two sites separated by a highway). The TV was broken which I was not told about. The guest laundry facility is not really a guest facility as you are not allowed access to do it on your own so are reliant on staff being available in my case it took longer than it needed to. There was no milk in the fridge to go with the tea/coffee making. It was not value for money.

We really enjoyed the pool. The water was cloudy from the development next door but that didn’t hinder our fun. The property was dated but exceptionally clean. The kids play area was not as in the pictures. The trampoline should be taken down as it is warped and can’t be used. The swings are still staring but old and creaky. We found the owner (?) rather abrupt and hostile but they were incredibly busy when we stayed (over the Xmas / New Year period so this may not have helped. Was really neat to be able to take our dog.

the rooms are big but the faucets in the kitchen are very old and it's inconvenient. There is a swimming pool and jacuzzi in the yard. The hosts are very friendly

Very happy with our stay. Basic but clean and all that we required. Good to see a swimming pool free to use and Spa available. Would stay here again

Good location. Quiet with no traffic noise. Pool was great esp on those hot days. Playground equipment was old and tired. Swing set is for smaller kids only. Trampoline had no safety mats or side walls and was next to the swingset on an uneven slope. Rooms were fairly basic. Suitable if you are wanting a budget type, simple and functional room. No shampoo, conditioner or body wash provided so best to bring yourself.

Facilities adequate, peaceful surroundings, tidy rooms and air conditioning provided. Was nice.

Clean well provisioned,very quiet good value for money

The property was clean and well kept. Was just looking for somewhere to spend the night and the cost was affordable with the room being very clean

We stayed in the king studios which looked brand new inside. Microwave, dishes plates cutlery etc. no shampoo/ Conditioner though. Fresh Milk provided. Step down to the car park from the unit could be an issue for elderly or those using walkers in the units we stayed in.

It was extremely clean, spacious. The staff were very respectful. Recommend for anyone staying in Otorohanga.

The staff were sooooooooooo lovely

Great location, handy to Waitomo. Didn't like that the lights were on outside (all the rooms) all night, apparently they are solar so obviously cannot be turned off, but we were kept awake most of the night by the light shining straight into the room. The mattress was very hard and we had to ask for more pillows as were just given two. Staff lovely and helpful and accommodating.

We are impressed the place we stayed is shiny and clean. Room cleaning service, new floor mats and hand towels are provided every morning. Will go back to stay again. Highly recommended.

No Sky

There was no sky service my husband wanted to watch the rugby that was disappointing and our $100 deposit hasn’t been returned to our account chasing that

We enjoyed our stay.The room was clean and very warm.It had every thing we needed.Tje spa was an added bonus.

Very disappointing customer services, couldn't get our deposit back on chexk out.Was meant to as there was a sign {on check out deposit returned to you} Would not recommend staying there. Unprofessional in every way. The pictures on there site are all lies!!!

Room for improvement

Had a large ants nest in one of the bedrooms. No face cloths or complimentary shampoo/conditioner. Paint peeling on inside of shower and bedroom door. Barely had enough dishwashing detergent. Still waiting for my bond to be returned.

We stayed in the new building and the room was really lovely.

close to caves, everything you need

I booked this motel through Wotif. When I arrived I was told that they had not been advised of my booking and wanted me to pay again. I told them I was not going to pay twice. In spite of me showing on my cellphone that the room had been paid for I had to go and sit in my car till Wotif advised them of the booking. They did upgrade the room which was a nice spacious room across the road from the office.

The room was clean and warm, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Well below my expectations. Got caught on this one.

Staff were wonderful, pool area clean and tidy, children's play area needs updating, the beds where a bid dated however I would stay again the unit was roomy my Grandchildren love staying there, it was fantastic due to the motel being off the road some, it was safe for the children to run around.

This property was very outdated, over charging for laundry $5.00 for a washer and $5.00 for a dryer. the cupboards in the kitchen were difficult to open and the bed was not comfortable.

My son had cockroaches in his room, in the older section of the motel.

Just fine

Our stay was just fine. We had a two bedroom unit which was clean and tidy with all the necessary ammenities. The rooms are extremely dated, it really could do with a refurb but it was awesome to find somewhere we could bring our dog. Will definatley be back again.

Location was good. Property needs attention, outdated and run down. Bugs get into unit easily. Found some bugs in bed. No shampoo, conditioner or body wash provided.

Very basic on amenities. Description said mountain view from the room, but the room looked out to the parking lot and some trees. Was charged extra for a child - 8 year old. But the room did not even have enough towels for the 3 of us.

Room terrible beds terrible. Black hairs on the toilet. Fridge didn't work. Power points didn't work. ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS!!!! Would not reccomend anyone to ever stay there.

Horrible, don’t stay here

The place is old, with no high standards of safety when it comes to electricity, the person in the reception treats you poorly. The bed was horrible and they say they have free internet and it was a lie. If you wanted internet you had to pay for it. I don’t recommend it

It was just a half way stop for us. Spa was good but light didn’t work properly . Room was spacious

Beds very comfy and room spacious . Felt a little expensive for what you got . Chose because of pool and spa for grandys but pool dirty and spa broken . Playground broken . Felt ripped off a little .

Nice homely clean comfortable room and facilities. Anything that would be required for a couple nights comfortable stay was provided.

Well equipped kitchen, if a little cramped, that enabled us to prepare a full breakfast.

Advertised as having Sky TV, which we could not find on our TV set/controls. Washbasin in bathroom more akin to something you use for hand wash after using toilet, rather than for washing yourself. Property fresh and clean, good sheets and towels.

Good stay

We had a good stay and will likely stay again in the future. Family suite was neat and tidy and all bedding, towels and cutlery were clean.

Convenient to Waitomo, fast check-in, spacious and functional. The only damper on the stay was a hair on a crumpled bedsheet - made us wonder if it was not changed since the last occupant? Or just maybe it was just wrinkled new sheet and a hair of the cleaner? I like to think positive, but it was concerning to notice as hygiene is important to us.
