Hotel should have some type of a deal with garages for their guests.

Great Spot in SF

Another great visit to our go to hotel in San Francisco.

The hotel itself is not bad, actually it’s really nice. I just thought the experience should have been better for the price. Paid like $500 a night and they don’t even give you water to the room. Everything there is an extra charge, like they are nickel and diming at every turn, and no onsite parking. Had to go park in a parking garage down the street. I usually stay down the street at the Marriott which is better for a similar or lower price, was booked up.

We enjoyed our stay - bed was comfortable, room was spacious. Good location and easy check in.

This is hotel was ok. There is one lady at reception (unfortunately don’t know her name) who was really lovely when we checked out. We were disappointed in the views from the room (looked onto another room’s window and a building opposite with builders): privacy wasn’t great. We also expected self-laundry facilities but there was only a (very expensive) hotel service. We also requested that our sheets were changed, and they were not. Staff could generally have been more welcoming and helpful with bags when we arrived in the pouring rain. We had a problem with our passports 1.5 weeks prior to arrival and our online query was never responded to. The area is also not very safe: there is a big drug problem in downtown San Francisco that is not just restricted to the notorious Tenderloin area. I would therefore not recommend going out at night or staying here as a solo traveller.

The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The room itself was great. You could literally walk to Chinatown right around the corner which is very cool. I really like and appreciated the feature of using your room key to power the room. It made me feel like I'm doing my part in helping the environment. Overall, I'll be back because it rained the whole weekend and i didn't get to explore as much as I wanted to

So keep that in mind when booking: everything is a bit older, used, and worn than indicated online. Service was inconsistent but overall good but the keycards never stayed activated, even when away from magnetized items or my cell phone so I had to go downstairs 4 times to get them working again. The room itself was clean with very comfortable bed and pillows but quite dark. The fridge even on the low setting froze all of my items. I like the area, having water machines was nice but overall, I don’t think I would stay here again.

Propert and rooms are very clean; located next to main entrance of Chinatown. It was a 5-7 minute walk from BART-Montgomery station to hotel. Very close to street cars that run across California St and to/from Market St and Fisherman's Wharf. Staff are helpful, friendly, and will guide you to whatever you are looking for in or around town. We will definitely be back the next time we stay in SF.

Beautiful hotel in centrally located area. Staff is wonderful. Rooms are small but very nice. Right next to China Town. Also lovely French restaurant nearby for lunch. Parking in lot nearby is convenient and $44 per day if you have a car.

I'll be going back to this property. Great location and staff. We could walk everywhere and it was just lovely.

Overnight stay always stay here when in SF

We were pleased to spend two nights in this fine hotel, and appreciated the helpfulness and attention of the always-professional staff. Our room was comfortable, especially the bed and the spacious bathroom. Location was convenient, although was parking was expensive (typical for SF). Wifi was good. No view, and desk chair wasn't comfy, but these were minor issues for us. Would stay again.

Perfect stay

This is a 'rare find' in hotels, especially in SFO. Location is great, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the price is competitive. We have stayed here twice already and this will be our go-to hotel for future stays in San Francisco.

Our Go To Hotel in San Francisco

From check in, to room quality everything was great. The Orchard Garden is centrally located to many places in SF. It is our go to hotel for our visits to SF. We live 1 1/2 hours away!

Fantastic location

What a great location right near Union Sq, Chinatown & financial area. The rooms were nice, the bathroom big with all the amenities I need even a shower cap and lotion. It was probably the most eco friendly hotel I have stayed in. Excellent value for our stay.

I stayed in the King Standard. Relatively small room but on par with other San Francisco properties. Bathtub and mini fridge were a plus. 1 suitcase rack. No bathrobe. Limited shower amenities. Location is great. Restaurant and breakfast downstairs are overpriced and not that tasty, but there are lots of options in the area. Water refilling stations were great, and the rooftop garden provides a beautiful view of the downtown area. Overall, good for one person who plans to eat locally and brings their own amenities.

We spent 2 nights here and had a pleasant and restful stay. Large rooms (both bedroom and bathroom) and contemporary design and decor. Quite nice! Will stay again.

Beautiful property, spacious rooms, great water pressure, and the location can't be beat! You're right next to Chinatown, right across little Italy, AND you're right next to a Starbucks, a french restaurant and Amorino (favorite gelato spot!). I will always stay here every time we're in SF. Highly recommend!

Great stay

It was great. Rooms felt a little outdated but no real complaints. Staff was friendly and on top of things. Only real issue was there could have been a few extra easily accessible outlets to plug in your phone and computer. I had to pull the end tables back by the bed or unplug a lamp when I wanted to plug something in.

For our second stay in San Francisco we did not hesitate in choosing this hotel again. Well situated near the Chinatown Gate it is friendly, well appointed and extremely clean. The room was not large, but we didn't spend a lot of time there with all our sightseeing. The rooftop garden area was a great area to watch the sunset with a pre-dinner drink. The hotel does breakfast only, but there are plenty of options for other meals in the area.

Great stay, comfortable king bed. Good dining options close by. Easy to walk everywhere. Right next to dragon gate. Nothing bad to say. SF is pretty safe, lots of police visible in area. Didn’t feel unsafe at all. Guinness in Irish bar across the road - pretty good!

The staff was very welcoming and allowed us to drop off our baggage ahead of check in. Very friendly. The location is right next door I Dragon Gate in China Town. Centrally located about 10 minute walks from bars restaurants, etc. Then about 15 minute drive from other neighborhoods.

Everything was good but the thin walls between the rooms , and you have to be quiet to make sure that you’re not disturbing the people in the other rooms!

The room was great, with a large bathroom. Unfortunately, the area around the hotel was marred by the amount of intimidating homeless people with what looked to be serious mental issues. Not the fault of the hotel, and seemingly a city wide issue.

Price was affordable and room was clean and new. Minimum service provided. The basin could not drain water fast enough resulting in flooding of basin.

One never knows when booking a hotel in a big city, but it was everything we asked for and more. Quiet, friendly staff. Very nice and we'll be back.

Very enjoyable

This hotel is lovely. The room was clean, fresh, and comfortable. The atmosphere of the hotel was calm and quiet, which made for a relaxing and restful stay. Front desk staff was excellent. They had great recommendation and were always attentive to guests. The surrounding area has some great local cafes and Chinatown is right next door. Reasonable walking distance to tourist attractions. Extremely accessible by public transit or otherwise.

Gem of a hotel in china town

Really nice hotel right by China town. Very comfortable room with exceptionally comfortable beds. The staff at the front desk were really friendly and super helpful.

Area was a bit dead on Sunday when we arrived. Our room was fine if a little dated.

I loved staying at this property! It’s beautiful and I felt very safe. I loved how quiet it was. The staff was professional and friendly. Housekeeping staff kept my room nice and tidy. The bed was really comfortable. I loved that they provide filtered water for guests. If I’m ever in SF again, I will definitely stay here again!

Very good location with very attentive staff. Rooms are a touch dated, ours had an odd initial smell, but we got used to it.

Great staff all around

Our flight came in early and we arrived a couple hours before check in time. Ridhi, the front desk agent, was able to get us into a room sans an early check in fee. We slept well, room was clean, no complaints. The free water station on the 7th floor was really convenient (water tasted good too!).

Nice and clean and great location next to China town. Our view was of an alley with homeless sleeping but we just had a standard room. Great location to walk to everything and room was spacious. Not many amenities but we were not at hotel much.

Hotel room is clean and the bathroom is quite big. It is right beside China Town and walkable to affordable food options. Not too far from cable car lines. Staff are friendly and check-in/check-out were easy. No parking at all at the hotel. Hotel room is confined with pretty much no views. Not a bad choice for the price.

Short and happy stay.

This was one of the best stays I've had in a hotel in a while. The staff were kind, helpful, anticipatory of needs, and quick to accommodate. They text us almost immediately after we got into our room to make sure everything was okay. I mentioned to the staff that there was a strong perfume smell in the room and they promptly offered a new room option even allowing us to see it beforehand. The room was quiet and right next to Chinatown. Nothing fancy, but simple, clean, quiet and absolutely wonderful employees. Will definitely stay there again.

Excellent accommodation near the Bart, China Town and the shopping district. I felt very safe here. The beds were really comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful.
