Great place overall. Very hot at night and we stayed in late November as air con did not work. Had to sleep with window open which was very loud.

A lovely property with lots of space. The only issue we had in November/December was that there wasn't any aircon, only heating and our room was roasting

We had a room on the 5th floor with 2 full size beds. Surprised that there was no AC, only a Dyson floor fan but it wasn't needed since it was in November. At the lobby towards the back, there's a self-serve coffee machine dispensing free cappuccino, coffee late, hot milk, hot chocolate and hot water for tea. The hotel is close to a lot of areas like Palau Güell on the same block and 20 or so Museums within a mile. Picasso Museum 15-20 min walk. 15 min to Fundació Joan Miró via metro (L3 then at Parallel stop, transfer to FM Funiculars) once there you can also go to Montijuic Castle via the cable car. Lots of restaurants on the same street like Güell Tapas Restaurant for their Paella and around the next block to Bar Cañete for the excellent Callos. Just a 10-15 minute walk away, there's also Maremagnum Time Out Market where there's tons of reasonably priced good restaurants like Jordi Artal, live Jazz in the evening and shopping.

Great stay two blocks of La Rambla, Palau Guell just a couple of doors down. Loved the spot for accessing dining and shopping opportunities.

Standart hotel with good location

Amazing hotel, with standart equipt rooms.

Staff was friendly and helpful. They suggested excellent restaurants such as “My Way”. Pool was great as well.

Affordable , clean and friendly. Far from airport and sighting

The hotel lobby is nice, ok pool, great staff. What we didn’t like at all was the SEWER SMELL IN OUR ROOM THE 4 NIGHTS WE STAYED THERE. We told reception several times and they got their cleaning staff to try to remedy the smell but after they would leave the smell came back within 30 minutes sadly. Sadly reception never offered to move us knowing of the situation in our room as well which was disappointing. It made our stay at the hotel with great displeasure. We ended up,staying another night after staying at the Onix 4 nights but we chose a different hotel because of the smell. We would not recommend or stay at this hotel for this reason again

Barcelona Gem

The hotel is great! Great location!! Gaudi' palace on the same street! Markets all around the hotel. The host was super helpful and informative. Breakfast was good too. Walk to Las Ramblas in 1.5 minutes A+

Nicely located. Very unfriendly staff upon arrival. Pool not usable: Muddy, not clean. No safe in rooms. Very basic breakfast. Next time in Barcelona, we will choose a property off centre and use the metro.

GREAT SPOT

This hotel is very comfortable, good beds and absolutely fantastic location! It's right by La Ramblas and few yards from the subway station. We had only 3 days in Barcelona, so it was essential to be in a convenient location to move around quickly, this was perfect. On top of that, Noelia, Jessica and Virginia at the reception have been very helpful, for directions, recommendations, just anything we needed! Breakfast was good and there is coffee and water always available in the lobby. The marble staircase and the wood panels in the lobby are also really cool!

Good location. Helpful front counter staff. Tea/coffee available in lounge. They held our luggage until check in. Try Pizza Circus a couple of doors down for a great slice of pizza!

Really liked complimentary coffee machine / relaxing area / lobby area, especially when checked out, but awaiting your flights. My only issue was loud music on Friday & Sat night until 3am, from neighboring property, that spoilt my slumber.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! I just loved it. Staff were all professional and helpful. The room was spacious for me (I traveled solo) and it was spotless clean. It was a few minute walk from the subway station “Liceu” in Las Ramblas. Very convenient location.y room was so cozy. I appreciated that there was an extra pillow and blanket in the room. I wish I could have spent another day there just relaxing in my room. That is how comfortable it was. I’m so glad I chose this hotel.

Excellent staff. Courtyard needs maintenance to fix noisy tiles that aren’t affixed to the floor.

Nicely updated, clean, staff very helpful and friendly. The main inconvenience is that they advertise AC but is only on fan mode, you have to sleep with the windows open if U don’t want to die of dehydration at nite. That allows all be movies of the night to interrupt your sleep. It’s a shame the heat in the room destroyed all the good experiences with the staff.

Property in a great location and well cared for. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was very adequate. Only issue was A/C had been shut off for the season and windows needed to be left open overnight.

Joel and other front desk staff were exceptional. Answered any questions we had regarding city, transportation, etc. Great staff!!!

The property is in the middle of of the area we wanted to explore. easy to find off the metro system and a sprint from La Rambla area. One of the best experiences with the staff that I can remember.

Luggage lost by airline, Joel and Julian went out of their way several times, calling the Airline, chasing up where my luggage was, until it was finally delivered. Cannot express my appreciation enough. Both guys thought nothing of what they did for me. Hotel should be very proud, of their team

Excellent location right near La Rambla. Staff all spoke English, and were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, and always clean. Several restaurants very close by. Great pizza two doors down.

Big disappointment

Unfortunately, we never had occasion to try this unfriendly hotel because of hospitalization. We were unable to recover our money or even receive credit for a future stay. We will be avoiding this hotel on our next visits to Barcelona and advise travelers to be very careful when making reservations with Onix Liceo. Pasquale and Elena

Beautiful hotel near by everything! Very clean and modern. I loved the inner courtyard! The rooms are big and sound proof despite the fact we are in Las Ramblas! The staff are very nice and helpful. This place should be a 4stars!

Extremely friendly staff! Great location! Only complaint was that the shower had a few hairs in it when we arrived. Otherwise, the stay was lovely!

It was an amazing place to stay in Barcelona! Perfect to walk to every destination/attraction, the people on the lobby were extremely nice and got us tickets for every attraction. The only problem was my air conditioner didn’t work correctly

Great location! Near city center and convenient to attractions. The hotel is not fancy but it is clean and the staff is very friendly and informed.

The hotel is beautiful on the inside. Very well taken care of and updated. It is walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Only a 10-minute walk to the Gothic Quarters neighborhood. The street in front of the hotel is busy and there are a lot of people in the area, but I found that most of Barcelona was this way. It is a heavily populated city with many tourists. There is a garage for parking your car, but the receptionist didn't know much about the garage and gave us the wrong space number and we had to go back and forth until we got the right space number with the key from him. It was a little frustrating.

Good location if you want to be by La Rambla area. Hotel dated with no heat so room. Wet hot and not even summer. Staff very nice though. Few amenities like a restaurant or bar but okay hotel fir the price.

Great staff very helpful. Location is just off La Rambla so perfect for food whether it is a quick snack or Dinning out. There are also great Bakeries down the road for breakfast and snacks. The hotel doesn’t have a bar but offers free coffee/tea/ water. It also has a small outdoor pool. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Would be great if they could add USB points in the bedroom.

Perfect spot in Barcelona - need to do laundry? Right across the street; need more Gaudi? Palau Gaudi is across the street; like to walk? Just 1 block away from las rambles - a fun promenade that leads right to the center of the plaza and a metro station. Easy walk from the hotel to the Harlem Jazz club and Joocy’s Jamaican restaurant. Simple to get to bus and metro for longer trips. Great concierge and a 24 hr coffee/hot chocolate machine. I love this place!

Hotel location was convenient to everything. Room was clean and a great value for the price. Staff was AMAZING! Very kind ,polite and knowledgeable. Noel at the front desk was especially kind. The laughs we shared was because every time my daughter and came and went Noel was working! Tell her bosses she needs a day off!! Lol, I recommend this hotel. Not super fancy but clean , comfortable and friendly!

Hidden little jem

Stayed for our anniversary. Really nice hotel, clean and tidy. Only fault found was the toilet seat was damaged. Located with 60 seconds of La Ramblas, but enough that your not on the main drag and so nice and quiet. Staff were kind enough to leave a note congratulating my wife and I on our anniversary. Might not seem much, but it was a nice personal touch. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for 5 nights. The hotel was well located and the staff were really helpful and friendly. They spoke good English which was convenient. Liked the cold water and range of drinks although these weren’t always available mid day. We were assured that we only needed to ask and more would be brought. Security was good and plenty to do very nearby. Good value for money.

Staff so friendly and helpful! Great hotel. Great location within walking distance of three metro stops, and steps from La Rambla. Location location location. Quiet room. Great shower with large bathroom, although it could have used a shelf in the shower to hold toiletries. AC ran continuously to keep room cool which was much needed in this heat wave. We didn’t use the pool, but lots of other people seemed to. Could use a room safe though.

Wonderful Staff Made the Visit a +!

The hotel staff made the stay as wonderful as could be. The young man who checked us in was friendly and helpful. The next young man went out of his way to try to help us print a form we needed for airline check in. The location of the hotel was at first a little off-putting because it is down a kind of stinky street--but then you realize how close you are to the Rambla! Great location, as it turns out. While the room was very simple, the architecture in the hotel is quite interesting. Overall, a really nice stay!

A nice boutique hotel. Clean, great bed, lovely terrace, and quiet. Big negative was arriving in May and they were still trying to save money by having AC in the whole building on fan mode. Had to literally get in a shouting match with front desk after our first night to get it switched to compressor. They first suggested we sleep with the door open. Then arranged to have it switched later that week, and then finally found a company to do it that day. Unbelievable.

The property is very pleasing from a design perpective with an impressive staircase, use of old stone and a minimalist approach. More importantly, we loved the location as it was easily walkable to so many great areas and sights.

The accommodation has a nice serene feel and is well placed for the Ramplas and some great little bars and places to eat and have breakfast. Sadly there was no complementary water or coffee provided in the room and the only catering available is a self serivice coffee machine with no milk available, no cold water and it was not even working on the last day.

Overall a great stay with a reasonable price. My only complaints are the very thin walls which didn't give much sound isolation and the shower design which is not completely enclosed and can cause a mess on the bathroom floor.

Perfect location! We loved our stay, and how close were were to everything.

We stayed here for one night before our cruise departed. Most hotels are buzzing with cruise passengers yet this one was quiet. Larger than average European room. Great front counter staff - friendly and English fluent. Room and hotel were clean. Elevator available. On morning of cruise had to walk about 2 blocks with luggage to catch a taxi due to busyness of port but found one within 10 minutes. 2 blocks off Las Ramblas with many supermarkets close by for water and snacks.

Loved Barcelona

Decent location. A few block walk to main streets. Coffee would not work. Staff knew about this and would not do anything. The staff was not helpful in securing a cab for us. our room's electric breaker kept going off. Small clean rooms. Nice entrance. I just would have expected more for a 4 star rated hotel.

Walls were paper thin and the sounds of running water and baby crying at 5am could be heard clearly. Very clean and nice room overall. Free upgrade with outside terrace was lovely

The best is where is located, very close to La Rambla. Otherwise, small rooms, small bathrooms, limited services . Do not pay for breakfast , it is not worse it

Great location to La Rambla, spoilt only by poor air conditioning in our room. Barcelona was 30C and 80% humidity and we couldn't get the room temperature below 25C, started at 29C in the evening and gradually fell to around 24C at 3am - not good enough.

Loved the Hotel

This hotel is great. It's location is perfect for all site seeing activities.

Disappointing

Not a 4* hotel - the rooms need to be renovated and noise proofed - the towels are old and grey - they need replacing - the AC system is noisy. The wifi was extremely poor and the TV only had 1 English channel (CNN), very disappointing. While usual shampoo, gel and conditioner was provided - they were cheap - there were no little extras (nail file, buds, etc). There was no information in the room regarding the hotel or surroundings. The breakfast room was very dark (situated in the basement) very unfriendly - while up on the main floor there is a room (in the picture) that is hardly used - it would make a bright airy dining area. While we stayed there were some very noisy guests arriving back to their room at 5.30am loudly! however, there was noise all the time - a very disappointing hotel

The location of the property is the best part of this hotel. The rooms were small and there was black mold in the shower. The air conditioner was extremely loud and the walls were paper thin. You could hear the commotion from the street all the way until 5am. Also the pool closed at 8pm even though it stays light until well after 10pm. If you want a hotel next to the center of everything it’s a good bet but don’t expect much.

A perfectly charming little hotel

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was cool and comfortable and the hotel lobby was nice place to hang out. The pool and terrace area were difficult to enjoy because overtime I went out there somebody was smoking a cigarette - yuk!

Lovely hotel. Large, spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Clean. Small but nice pool area. Reception staff, Jordi, was extremely helpful and friendly. He gave us advice and information about Barcelona. 2 minutes from La Rambla. A Safe is available to use at Reception for valuables. Towels available at poolside.

One of the worse places I have stayed in my life

Terrible hotel. Poor service. The worst was the room. Lighting conditions terrible! Small lights and poorly designed leaving plenty of dark spots. The floor tile had visible clear gaps. Putty or something could have been used to conceal them. The bed was like picked up from a dumpster. A piece of rubbish. The bedding and pillows were cheap and old. There were no drawers to put clothes nor furniture for our suitcases. The remote was patched with tape to keep it together. The shower with no shelf to put the soap or shampoo. One day we found something like detritus that came out of the drain. We complained about several items but they never took care of the problems. In summary, a cheap, cheap hotel.

Convenient Locations

The hotel was nice but a little run down. The lobby is lovely but the rooms not so much. Beds are hard. The staff was helpful. The location is central. The breakfast was average.

We'll never book here again!

Nice hotel in good location. Short walk to La Rambla and Gothic Quarter. First impression of street of location a little daunting but no issues experienced.

Great stay - however the tiles in the back pool area should be changed to reduce the noise factor. Area could also then be utilised later in the evening. Fantastic location. Very clean. Friendly staff.

Great hotel and location!

We arrived early and were able to check-in early. The room had lots of storage space for our belongings. The property was immaculate and very stylish. The location is great. Very close to shopping, restaurants and metro stations. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful.

it was a nice experience. the location is amazing. many of the local attractions are at walking distance. Palau Guell is just opposite the hotel. there are three metro stations at a walking distance. so even for far off locations it is very easy to access. it is just off the Las Ramblas. the area is buzzing till late night. there is a bakery just next to the hotel and serves some amazing red velvet cake. the local market is a delight to watch. but dont buy sangria there. it is cheaper in local wine shops. even the souvenir one.
