Boutique Style
Delightful boutique hotel with lovely rooms in the perfect location. The staff went above and beyond whenever required.
Excellent and friendly service
The hotel location is within easy walking distance of lots if shops, bars and restaurants. The apartment we stayed in was fantastic, with great views and everything you could possibly need. The hotel staff were incredible - friendly, efficient and extremely helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them! The reception area is comfortable. The breakfasts are really good too! An excellent hotel, which I would definitely stay in again!
Cracker
Great spot - nice room - friendly and helpful staff
Great location, nice comfortable room - poor WiFi was the only let down
Unique and outstanding hotel with thoughtful amenities and attentive staff. They go above and beyond! Food was excellent, pillow menu was awesome, bed super comfortable… and you can play records on a record player! Best hotel in a year of traveling over 100k miles!
Boutique charm; a welcome alternative to large ‘factory’ style hotels.
We had a lovely stay at Ohtel,it got off to a great start when we were greeted by the super friendly Manager out of our taxi, he came straight to help with our bags which was welcomed after a long journey. Our room was far better than expected, thanks to a kind complimentary upgrade and the small touches in the room and help with an early breakfast before our taxi we’re greatly appreciated.
My new favorite!
Incredible hotel! I loved the retro aesthetic, the attention to detail was superb. The room was stunning, very clean and had a big deep bath, plenty of lovely toiletries and fully stocked mini fridge!
Clean, quirky and convenient.
A Wellington gem
Great boutique hotel. Amazing staff, yummy food, super comfy bed and great location. An absolute Wellington gem!
WOW visit
Great Location, quiet, comfortable with great service & good coffee
Nice unique wee hotel
Stefan, was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the complementary anniversary cheese platter that was waiting for us when we checked in. Room clean and comfortable with good views across the Wellington bay
Its a very small several rooms boutique hotel in Wellington marina. I stayed there for 4 nights combining work and site seeing. The room was spacious and cosy, staff very friendly, great expresso, tee and fresh milk in the room. I did not take breakfast - it was provided at the meeting I attended - but the selection in small hotel caffe looked nice and people were visiting from the street. I loved area around the hotel and the restaurants which was recommended by the staff. Will stay again!
The two front desk ladies were exceptional-friendly, professional, helpful. Breakfast was great with good coffee and tea! The pillows and the mattress were very comfortable.
Staff made us feel so welcome! Location is great and easy walk to Te Papa and harbor bike and hike path.
Staff made us feel so welcome! Location is great and easy walk to Te Papa and harbor bike and hike path.
Friendly, quiet, quirky and fun
Right from before I even arrived, when they reached out to find my arrival time and what milk I wanted, through to my warm welcome with a coffee and an early check in so that I could join my online meeting in the comfort of my room, this was a perfect stay. Quiet and comfortable with plenty of room to work, yet also bags full of quirky charm and comfort I loved the gramophone player with a copy of “dark side of the moon” too!
Light open room, access to small cafe with good coffee and french toast! Near to CBD. Small hotel suited our needs well.
Amazing team with Stefan, Szandra & others, who had a positive and can do attitude. So friendly, personable and professional. Loved the retro rooms too, will definitely visit again
Lovely location!
stayed here for 2 nights - excellent location, accommodation had everything we needed , staff were really helpful and the breakfast was great - would definitely stay here again.
Such a cool hotel! We had a very nice suite, very comfortable, perfect location. the staff was great, very kind and helpful. Nice cafe on main level, great flat white!
Wonderful Hotel
Great place to stay. Right in the heart of Wellington. Super helpful and friendly staff. Our room was huge and so very nice. Easy walking to the TePapa museum, restaurants were close. Great breakfast. We could not be happier with our stay.
Great location ,bed, pillows, shower and coffee shop on premises
Great location and super friendly staff. Could not fault it really.
Location, great staff, quiet and safe. Great room
Special boutique hotel in Wellington
Everything was amazing, the room, the location, the breakfast and cafe options, and especially the staff. Our only complaint is that it would be nice to have some streaming channels on the tv as we cannot use our Australian subscriptions overseas
The staff were great and really helpful!
I would love to give this hotel full grades because the staff, the amenities, the location, and the services are all first rate. My issues are solely with the bathroom. As noted in other reviews, the bathroom has glass doors and walls. They do provide a curtain so the privacy issues can be mitigated. The bigger problem for me was the lighting. There is a dim light on one side of the mirror, an accent light, and a direct light over the toilet, and that's it. The person who designed it has clearly never applied makeup. I had to keep walking out of the bathroom with a small mirror to check my work. They should get a few lighted makeup mirrors for guests who need them. Otherwise, it's a great hotel, with wonderful staff, great food and drink, and in a great location.
This place was amazing first time visit will definitely stay again Staff super friendly and very help great communication Food was excellent A truly amazing place Highly recommend to others
Great location and wonderful staff
We loved the location - close to Te Papa, large grocery store and easy walking to almost everything. The staff reception staff were excellent - very professional and friendly. We would stay here again.
Lovely little hotel in great spot.
Lovely little hotel in a wonderful spot, easy check in and helpful staff. Found the bathroom with the glass doors a little difficult however this would not stop me booking this hotel again.
Accessibility, ok. Like a basement room. Shower very strange with limited privacy. Furniture to close together to call it acceptable.
Boutique, Modern
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic room, location, and service!
Loved being right on the water in the heart of Wellington.
We appreciated getting fresh milk for our coffee. We found it a little noisy as it was just off the Main Street. However walk ability was great.
The rooms were unique, loved the size of the room. Lift and internal areas could do with an upgrade but thats pretty minor. Loved the room and the location.
It was conveniently located. Appreciated having milk and coffee in the room.
Fantastic room, clean and super quiet
Lovely to be a short walk from BATS Theatre, a supermarket, the waterfront. Delicious snacks in the Pantry. Friendly team. Super quiet at night (Studio room.)
The service and room where amazing, very close to all amenities
Nice quite central hotel, super comfy bed and dog friendly 🤓
Pure enjoyment
Lovely service, very welcoming, amazing room, good value, exceptional breakfast and delicious mini bar. Loved it! Incredible view, centrally located, amazing bathroom with deep bath.
Nice place close to town
Cool boutique space
Great location. Cosy rooms.
So disappointed as we were really looking forward to this. We often stay at Copthorne and thought we'd splash out and stay at Ohtel. We won't be back! Our tiny room was claustrophobic. There was no window, no view, no bathroom door! and the carpet has large stains. The shower curtain blows around and water gets all over the floor. There's a wooden surround around the bed that makes getting in and out very awkward and I kept walking into it as the room is so small with no natural light. We were right next to the lift and reception so we heard everyone coming and going. If you do decide to stay here, make sure it's not the dungeon room that we got. The wotif photos are very deceptive.
Great location and view from the room. The bathroom was a bit strange as the curtain didn't provide much privacy!
A+
Very friendly staff, beautiful location, great comfortable room with a great view. Would stay here again.
we found the Hotel handy to everything we wanted to do.Good breakfast. The bathroom strange with glass door and curtain I would prefer a normal bed The wooden edging easy to tril against
Beautiful boutique hotel
Great location, great service, lovely rooms. Would recommend and would stay here again.
Highly recommended for a stay in Wellington
A wonderful stay at Ohtel Wellington. Staff really friendly and helpful. Beautiful room - very clean. Delicious breakfast. We have stayed in 6* accommodation and this is on a par.
Loved staying at Ohtel! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly - and considering I was staying during COVID-19 level 3 that was especially important. I had my dog with me and they were incredibly accommodating - can’t believe a hotel as nice as this allows dogs. Room was immaculate, cool layout. Bed was very comfy, shower was spacious and high pressure. Loved the extra touch of a free drink on arrival. Beautiful location on the waterfront and across from a park - perfect for walking the dog. Overall was very impressed and will be back!
Great central location. Fabulous bathroom. Extremely comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff.
Very accommodating staff, welcoming and helpful. Mid century modern design elements and large size room for a hotel on the waterfront. A quick walk to national museum. Bathroom not very practical with a glass door and outside curtain.
Loved the mid century modern furniture and the host staff.
Funky vide, very friendly and helpful staff. Great location
Fantastic boutique hotel with really friendly staff.
The room was super cool with an awesome view. Staff were friendly and provided an unexpected welcome drink. Great location on waterfront.
Amazing spot, room is stunning. Will definitely be back
Unique hotel in great location. Great views & service. Well furnished. Highly recommend.
Great Stay
Very friendly with great service. The decor was well thought of. Incredibly clean. Quiet hotel with double glazed doors/windows.
Externally friendly and personable staff, even before I arrived! Louie was fantastic at the get go and offered suggestions for the evening. Room was super clean and comfortable with everything I needed. Would highly recommend this to anyone. The cafe at the base is fantastic as well. The morning staff (didn’t catch her name) was also very helpful and super friendly. Best evening/stay of the trip so far!!
Boutique Hotel next to Te Papa (National Museum)
Wonderful little boutique style hotel a short walk from the Te Papa national museum. Room was large with a equally large bathroom equipped with tub, roomy rain shower. Spotlessly clean. Ground floor reception doubles as a cafe, that we thought enhance the experience. Staff are wonderful and go that extra mile to make sure that out experience is delightful. Cut rate parking is off site at the museum but a loading zone out front makes unloading a breeze
We really loved our stay at the Ohtel. The room was luxurious, and extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and great to deal with. It was like we were staying at a friends house is the best way to describe it. As you were made to feel very welcome. Thank you for a great stay.
Staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly and the room was spotless and comfortable.
The property was beautifully clean and very quiet! I loved how it was just a 5minute walk into town and even though we had a back room the view was still lovely. The staff were extremely kind and there to help when required!
Nice room, close to Te Papa where Conference was. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Ideal Hotel!
This hotel has everything you need! Great location for Wellington - literally across from Te Papa museum and waterfront. It has a great little cafe and everyone is so friendly and accommodating! I loved it! A perfect place to go for morning walks or run by the waterfront.
Slice of Heaven
Abel Tasman Lodge is tucked away but within walking distance of everything you need for a beautiful stay in the park. I hiked and kayaked and slept really well! Scott and Jocelyn are amazing hosts and I never even heard anyone else besides the birds. Cozy accommodations and has a kitchen and laundry and hot tub. I couldn't be happier!
Outstanding Hotel & Staff
Couldn’t recommend more highly. Tamara and Jaya were wonderful and very welcoming. The whole stay was flawless. Beautiful room and facilities. Great location to the Oriental Parade. Nice cafe on the ground floor and we had a complimentary glsss of wine when we arrived. Exceptional. Thank you for making our stay in Wellington so relaxing.
Lovely and personal service, nice cafe/bar area. Spacious room nicely decorated - didnt feel like a corporate boring hotel
I'm not sure about the rest of the hotel but the room we were in was a bit disappointing. There was one single small round window to the outside but backed to the front door of a house so we needed to keep the curtains pulled the entire time. So it was dark. The shower curtains didn't really cover the shower that well so we had a small flood. The housekeeping didn't arrive until about 6pm and we were watching movies so we had to live with it like that. The bed was comfortable and it was clean. The staff were great and the location was awesome. But at the cost we would have expected a bit more.
I liked the boutique nature of the place and the size of the room was good
Ohtel is a sweet, little boutique hotel in a great location. The room we stayed in was nicely furnished and very spacious. We were lucky enough to get a good rate for the room as we booked last minute, and thank goodness, as I would have been rather disappointed to pay the full price of $595 for the room. Sure it's got nice features, great location and spacious, but not worth the full price tag. What was something that bothered me was that the door to the bathroom is a sliding glass door....so it is never fully closed or sound proof. Nothing like hearing your partner doing their business (or vise versa) to kill the romance. Overall this is a lovely place to stay if you can get a decent rate, but probably not worth the full price tag.
A small hotel but Good location with superb views of harbour from our room 10. The glass door to the bathroom was original! Hotel is Close to the Museum and walking distance to city centre. Parking was available nearby (meters) at reasonable cost for city. Had some issues with lighting but this was dealt with quickly by the staff. A good stay.
Wellington waterfront hotel
Had an amazing stay at Ohtel on the waterfront in Wellington.
Lovely room can’t fault the place
Liked the fifties vintage quilt decor. Loved our large suite, our balcony and harbour view; glamorous bathroom with large shower and bathtub underfloor heating and twin basins with plenty of room for toiletries. Liked big TV with Sky channels and very good medium size fridge with freezing space for ice and plenty of storage. Liked all the teas and coffees and coffee machine provided. Did not like extremely limited wardrobe space. Almost nowhere to hang clothes. There were plenty of drawers but I do not like folding up dresses and skirts and trousers and putting them in drawers! Also large mirror should be moved to opposite wall so two seater couch could replace it as otherwise only place to sit and watch TV was on the bed.
Very nice and comfortable hotel with very kind staff, great service
Bright, modern, clean, great staff. Not keen on the fact that the bathroom was only closed off from the bedroom by a glass door and curtain
Fantastic and brilliant little restaurant on the ground floor too.
Nice hotel close to the CBD Close to good bars and cafes
Great location and facility. Great place to relax.
Lovely hotel in a great location - great views and great staff - really awesome overall experience - Manageress Roberta was outstanding.
Great hotel in Wellington
The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the room, had everything we needed. Heated bathroom floor was great. Location was good, across from their fabulous museum, and at the beginning of a very walkable loop through all parts of the city. The restaurant downstairs is great.
Small boutique hotel where the staff know your name.
Large room , but the toilet dripped all night which kept us awake, and the fridge was right behind the headboard so the motor ran. If someone in the next room used the plumbing it was loud in our room. The bed was comfortable.
Boutique hotel on the Wellington waterfront
Ohtel is a delightful small hotel, very well located on the waterfront and close to Courtenay Pl and Te Papa. It has a very nice restaurant/cafe with great food. The rooms are spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Good bathroom. and SKY channels on a nice big screen.
Very nice room and great staff very friendly would definitely return
Gorgeous room, great staff. Highly recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel good location
The only downside is the parking - you have to bring a parking card back to the hotel so it was a bit of a faff
Very attractive boutique hotel with mid-century furnishings and helpful regular staff.
Night Away
Fabulous Ohtel, we booked a room with a bath, but on arriving to our room there was no bath, we raised this with reception who offered us a room with a lovely harbour view instead and we were really happy with that. The location is fantastic with places to eat/ walk/ shop & entertain nearby. Hotel staff, from Front of House to cleaning staff were attentive and helpful. We enjoyed one of the best cooked breakfasts we have eaten at the cafe/tapas bar at the Hotel. We will definitely return ( next time a room with a bath) and recommend to others :)
Lovely breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Great location
Great location
Lovely small boutique hotel in a great location. Large and spacious bedroom and ensure. the outside of the hotel does not do justice to the inside.
Nice Ohtel
Great Boutique Ohtel but the rooms are dated with some of the furniture. Great bed, great bathroom. Great view of the city Waterfront

Good location
We were able to unload our bags in the hotel's loading bay then we went and parked our car in the car park they have an arrangement with: that all worked out fine. Our room was decorated in a slightly ...whacky style. Maybe more design over substance particularly in the bathroom where more shelving would be useful for toiletry bags. I enjoyed the deep bath but feel sorry forthecleaners as it has no shower attachment on the tap to wash down the bath walls. The shower is similarly only an overhead style one. The bed could have been comfier- bit too soft and what's with an electric blanket on the bed!!! We had a very early start so didn't take breakfast there
