A brilliant stay at the Ohtel Auckland. I love the decor of the room and I especially love the breakfast options (no extra charge to be brought to your room for breakfast in bed). The location was right along the viaduct near some of the better restaurants like Bivacco. Will definitely stay again!
Stayed here many times now, best small, boutique hotel in Auckland. The staff are great and couldn’t be more helpful. Lovely situ in the Viaduct area. Would always choose to stay here when in Auckland.
Great location
Great location. Outstanding, friendly service. Excellent location. Good size room
Loved the retro design. Kind of quircy but adorable. Enjoyed how convenient the location was to the restaurants and ferry terminal. Would highly recommend.
The hotel was perfect for our need to be close to the harbor to join our cruise. The carpet in my room needs a good cleaning. All of the staff were great - friendly and helpful. We were delighted with our stay and will recommend it to others.
Location, room was fantastic and staff very helpful!
Auckland stay
Quirky hotel but room a bit busy. Welcoming interior but too many chairs and tables in a relatively small space. Overall was nice but not special.
Fun weekend stay
Excellent location steps from the Viaduct/waterfront. Cool mid-century modern vibe, from decor to mood music. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Pool deck looked great, but didn’t use it myself. Minor negatives were an open-concept bathroom in some rooms, and weekend partying noise being so close to the waterfront taverns.
Everything about Ohtel was above our expectations. Great rooms, very spacious and clean. Parking was easy. Location was perfect. It can get a little noisy on weekend evenings if you're sensitive, but it didn't bother us.
We had a fantastic stay at this property. Our room was spacious, clean, and super eco-friendly. There were many shops and restaurants within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.
Modern hotel very convenient to downtown Auckland and the waterfront. Very helpful staff and 24 hour front desk. Bar and breakfast available. Free onsite parking.
Very comfortable hotel in a fabulous location
What a fab location. Just by the gorgeous Viaduct Harbour area. Staff really helpful with check in and parking. Room a good size and with decent air con and coffee machine. Layout with shared sliding door for shower and toilet was a bit weird but we got used to it.
We loved the mid century décor and the staff were excellent and the location could not have been better. Although you had to pay for parking it was great to be able to park right at the hotel. Easy walk to the viaduct and the ferry's etc. Loved having the huge bath in the bedroom that was cool. However the toilet had a glass door. although the middle section was blocked out no one wants to see their partners feet when they are in the toilet. also there was one door for that and the shower which slid between them. This meant when you stepped out of the shower the door was wet and wet the toilet area so you had to mop that up. also there was no where to hang towels so each day you had to have a complete set of new towels which isn't something I like to do is quite environmentally unfriendly. I wouldn't choose to stay again because of the toilet/shower situation.
Fantastic location and great breakfast. Staff were lovely and helpful. The pool is a nice addition. We didn’t love the layout of the room because it had a weird toilet/ shower in the middle of the room. But can’t fault it other than the design and layout
Extremely convenient location and very helpful employees I won’t hesitate to go back there
We always choose to stay in this hotel in Auckland. Perfect location, quiet and great rooms. Reception team are lovely and friendly. Bed is comfy and great room facilities and toiletries.
Location
hotel has excellent location to see the harbor and the central business district in Auckland. Nice rooms, with the exception of the strange bathroom layout and potential leaking shower.
Always stay here when in Auckland. Can’t fault it, great location, lovely room and toiletries plus decent size fridge. Love the nespresso mill frother for coffees, real bonus! Nice to have the pool and enjoyed lots.
Very clean, easy access. Fantastic facilities and helpful staff
Best hotel in Auckland Delivers on every level small, quirky, friendly, great location and pool area we always stay here
Great location
Great Stay
Enjoyable stay, good size room with excellent facilities. Great location just near Viaduct Harbour where there is a great choice of bars and restaurants, but had no noise issues regarding this. Would stay here again.
Staff was super accommodating. From early room access to free bikes to late checkout. All requests were accommodated with a smile. Great experience
Helpful and pleasant staff
Front desk associates were extremely friendly and helpful, despite my arrival before check-in. Would definitely stay here again.
Great stay. Parking was tricky and I would not stay in the viaduct again. Too noisy
A fantastic location!
We loved the location which was vibrant and yet the hotel was within its own little oasis. Best of both worlds. Staff was excellent, especially Angel and Rissi!
Amazing staff, great location, very boutique feel
Best part of the stay is without a doubt the staff who are super friendly and super helpful. Ohtel is described as a “boutique” hotel and in truth it feels that way though perhaps a little like a bed and breakfast in some ways with odd design choices and a little kitschy at times such as IKEA pieces and Anko cushions. The location is around 10-15 minutes to most places such as Sky City, One Queen Street, and next to the restaurants at the Viaduct. We stayed here post cruise and it was a short enough walk. We love our balcony room which was super spacious and the air conditioning cold and powerful. The “balcony” was a huge terrace however it is one without a view nestled between 3 walls and with other room windows facing us so we didn’t utilise it. The amenities were great, bed and pillow very comfortable. Housekeeping kept everything very spotless. There is enough said by others about Ohtel’s unique bathroom and toilet design, so I won’t repeat here, but the balcony room suffer less of the problem with the bath area to the side of the room (though yes the toilet is still enclosed by only glass ha ha)
Great Ohtel!
Stayed one night for a concert. Ohtel was a superb place to stay, right on the waterfront in the heart of the area but quiet and comfortable
Really nice location and very nice room.
Amazing. Up there as best option for accom in auckland
Funky hotel close to the action
This hotel is just around the corner from the Viaduct entertainment district but is soundproofed and quiet. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the lounge area is great for a quiet drink. My only quibble was the "design for designs sake" glass walled shower and toilet in the rooms - there is a reason bathrooms are usually accessed by a door which can block out light, noise and smell from the other occupants.
Not an easy hotel to navigate especially if you have a car. Not sure how it’s 5 star. No restaurant other than small breakfast pantry. Would be great for hip young things who arrive by Uber and have business meetings out and about, rather than people wanting a relaxing hotel to enjoy facilities.
I liked Ohtel
Quirky hotel room which I like. Very very clean :-) Night manager gave me incorrect advice about dry cleaning but the hotel made that ok - much appreciated. No Sky TV which is unusual for a hotel.
This place had a cool design. It was well done with a lovely retro style. I had a lovely courtyard off my room which I really loved. The staff were great. It was so well located to the CBD and viaduct. Highly recommend
Hotel is very clean and an amazing location. Would definitely stay here again. Beds were great also.
Enjoyed out time at this hotel. Excellent gym with outside pool and garden. Convenient walkable location. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Enjoyable stay and close to everything needed, great dinning close by and entertainment.
It’s amazing hotel! Everything from fantastic location near Auckland marina to tasty egg Benedict for breakfast (extra) was above expectations. Stayed at Ohtel Wellington last week, this one has better furniture and design. Make sure you are ok with bathroom inserted in the room (behind math glass door). Staff was very helpful and gave a great suggestion for dinner - Oysters grill. Compared with big chain ***** hotels this one is so much more fun!
Amazing spot - loved the bath in the room!
Amazing spot - loved the bath in the room!
Fantastic staff that made our stay very welcoming
Modern finishes a stones throw from the viaduct harbour. Fantastic staff that were very accommodating throughout the stay.
Extremely well situated near Harbour restaurant where we wanted to go for our one night stay in Auckland
From the moment I arrived the experience was fantastic, the staff were lovely, friendly and genuinely interested in having a conversation, they had some great suggestions for how to spend my afternoon and were happy to walk me to the corner and give directions! The room was huge, stylish, bright, comfortable and the bed was a super king! The flat screen TV with a great selection of free movies and easy connect to my phone was a bonus.... Ive travelled extensively over the last 35 years and this was in my top 5 hotels of all times ! thanks I'll be back
Lovely friendly staff but the facilities are dated. Large stain in the chair in our room.
Very friendly and welcoming. Brilliant hotel
Perfect hotel for a long weekend
Excellent hotel. Placed at the center of Viaduct harbour. The décor is retro and I love it. Rooms are very high standard. Love the chromecast. It worked very well. I will definitively come back when I am in Auckland
Very cosy and relaxed
Amazing Japanese Night manager made the experience life changing✅
Awesome location with excellent amenities. Loved the cute separate bath and record player in the suite.
Great location 30 second walk to Viaduct area, room was spacious and clean, staff were really helpful, on site parking was excellent and a good range of breakfast options, will be our go to when overnighting in CBD
Exceptional Experience!!
We had a wonderful four night stay at Ohtel Auckland. The room was clean, spacious and had cool mid-century modern vibes. The hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of the CBD, harbour side restaurant precinct and ferry terminals making this an ideal base. We had no issues parking our car securely beneath the hotel and the breakfast each morning was scrumptious, no need to find a local coffee shop. An extra special shout out to all of the lovely staff, in particular Rosita and Maria who were always smiling and happy to assist us. We will not hesitate to stay with Ohtel again in future. Fantastic!!
Boutique Hotel in A Great Location
We stayed at Ohtel two nights and we were not disappointed. We arrived at the hotel at about 9 am as our flight arrived early morning from the US. We were expecting to get luggage storage but instead they let us check in early at no added charge as they had a room open in our booking class. The room was small but well designed for two people. It was quiet and comfortable. One thing I think they should add is a couple hooks on the outside of the clothes storage cabinet to better allow to hang wet towels for reuse. The hotel location is amazing right by a large amount of restaurants and walking distance to the central city. We did eat breakfast at the hotel one morning and the food was delicious. We also had drinks at the hotel and all the staff we interacted with was great. We parked a car one night and they had paid underground parking in a secure area. We did not use the pool but several families with their kids went for swims and seemed to enjoy themselves. We very much enjoyed our stay at Ohtel and would stay there again in the future.
We will return
The retro style was charming and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. We loved the chance to chat to them at the bar when we enjoyed our free drink. Breakfast was of high quality. We enjoyed the pool and the gym. The location is so close to all of the events we were attending.
Enjoyed our stay
Interesting layout.
Great hotel, but it’s the first room we’ve ever had that the shower and toilet are not in its own room. It was right behind the bed with just a glass wall. I get up and get ready before my spouse so to use the shower or turn a light on brightens and wakes the room.
Funky clean (albeit small, on a japanese scale) room with good staff
The room was clean and roomy! Nice amenities and friendly staff! Would highly recommend!!
NZ from SC tour
Great place conveniently located a block off the harbor. Clean, great bed, garage parking. A little eclectic. Could use a little more space for storing luggage instead of an old record player or à tub. Overall a great place.
Great location. Nice room!
The location of the hotel is excellent! Our room was large and had a nice patio attached. The staff was helpful and friendly. They let us keep our car parked there after we checked out for a few hours which helped us a lot. The in room coffee was really good. We did not take advantage of the pillow Menu but it was nice to know we had options.
Terrific setting near viaduct and beautifully appointed room with a great bed. However, the toilet is integrated into the main body of the room with limited privacy, behind a glass door that was more transparent than not. An odd design choice that won't be for everyone. Operating the television was hardly intuitive. A more minor annoyance is that water leaked from the adjacent shower into to the toilet area.
Great location especially if you are catching a cruise. The only complaint I have is that the rug in my room was grubby otherwise this is a great hotel to stay in.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location and value.
The Ohtel was an excellent choice for our one night in Auckland. It was so good that I wish we'd stayed a second night. The location can't be beat. It's on a leafy street just steps from Viaduct Harbor which has terrific restaurants, cafes and shops. Our room was lovely and had air conditioning (a huge plus because we arrived on an 80F day). We checked in around noon after a 14 hour flight and were very grateful that our room was ready. The staff are friendly and they even have a small pool for guests. Our room was very comfortable and clean with nice decor and a fun free toiletries kit. The one downside is that there's no door on bathroom. The shower door slides back to enclose the toilet for some privacy but it seemed like a weird design choice. Other than that, it was a great option and we would stay here again.
Ohtel Auckland near Cruise Port
Amazing stay near cruise port. Had everything you could ask for.
It is a boutique property, convenient to the harbor and CBT. Some things are a bit quirky, but a very comfortable stay
Perfect for cruise passengers
Great small hotel near waterfront & perfect for cruise passengers. it's about a 10 minute walk from cruise ships with lots of restaurants in the area, king size bed was good but a little soft. I booked a room with a huge separate tub from the bathroom which was cool. The only drawback for some people would be the toilet is not completely enclosed but has a sliding glass door, make sure you know the person staying with you well...if you know what I mean. The breakfast that is included is very good with 5 choices which are made to order, my only iss with the breakfast is that juice is NOT included but an extra charge. The staff was very helpful. I would return for sure.
One street over from Viaduct with all the restaurants, bars. View many beautiful boats berthed. Hotel room lovely retro, clean and beautifully presented. Tea, coffee, snacks and mini bar with room service available. Has a quaint dining area. Retro presented, and underneath parking. Room had Windows but no views only downside. Staff all wery friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our 1 night stay.
Very nice hotel. Nice decor and lovely people. Breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommend.
We had a fantastic stay at Ohtel! The staff were accommodating and willing to help, friendly and chatty! The breakfasts were delicious, and the room was gorgeous!
Great location, comfy bed and furniture in the room. Beautifully appointed too. A winner
Quiet place right across from the harbor. Walking distance to dining, ferries, and trains.
A very quiet small scale hotel. Centrally located in the city. It is a block away from the harbour and the bars and restaurants there. Great walking hotel.
Great hotel!!
Loved everything about this hotel! Location, decor, food, amenities are all top rate. Will look for an Ohtel wherever my travels take me.
Great location for cruisers
Outstanding Boutique Hotel!
What a wonderful hotel! Great service! Great breakfast! Location right by the marinas and harbor district. The staff gladly accepted any request we made and would go one step better. New in 2021. Unique room layouts. This is the place to stay!
Great location! You can walk into the city and the Harbour. Good parking possibilities inside the garage (go in first to register and get an entry cord). Really nice staff. Delicious breakfast options. Loved the place!
Great location at Viaduct Harbor. All of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good.
Fabulous area within walking distance to all the best places. Room was very modern and the bathroom spotless! The parking was confusing though.
Excellent location, fabulous room, great service!
Wonderful property, location and staff, I would definitely recommend!
Floor of bathe was very, very slippery especially as shower leaked.
Such a charming design, right near the viaduct harbor action yet quiet. We have found our new favorite hotel for Auckland visits.
Great hotel, very well located, delicious breakfast and comfortable.
Great hotel, very well located and comfortable.
The staff was amazing and I loved the decor & vibe of the hotel!
Love the shower/bathroom design! Good location near downtown in quiet area. Nice people. One thing: fridge was stuffed full of drinks for a separate fee. Had to remove them to fit our food, took up half the counter. Overall: great.
Great, attentive staff. Very welcoming. Room very comfortable. Located just a few minute walk from the Viaduct area and all it has to offer.
Ohotel Auckland is amazing from the incredible friendly staff to the rooms and fantastic location it ticks all the boxes..
Everything was excellent
Close to Harbour front and dining options galore.
Great location, interesting decor, super friendly helpful staff. A little hotel with personality. Highly recommend.
We liked the decor and all the amenities. The hotel is in a nice street and close to the viaduct.
We very much enjoyed the fact that Ohtel was so close to a variety of places of interest. We were, however, disappointed that the breakfasts, that we had been told on arrival, were complimentary, did, in fact, cost us $90.
Great service.
Once again a fabulous stay at Ohtel wonderful decor and rooms are spacious beds super comfortable. Great coffee machine in room and neat little bar/coffee area. Location is awesome able to park car up and walk everywhere highly recommend
The hotel staff are friendly and dedicated to giving a good experience. We stayed for 13 days and had no major issues. It is just off the Viaduct and is a short walk to the Auckland City ferries. The Superior Room we stayed in had a small fridge and kettle. There is also good viewing options on the TV. We prepaid for breakfast and the quality of the food and room service is exceptional (do recommend getting as early as possible on a preorder for bountiful portions, like with most hotels).
Great location. Nice hotel. Rooms good, hotel doesn’t offer VIP benefits asked for a late check 1 hour extra was offered.
