Great location for most things at your fingertips, huge kitchen in the 1bd apt although I’d change the rokm description for 223 as an ocean glimpse not ocean view, when less that 25% of your view is the ocean view it’s a glimpse.

Great stay. Views/ accessibility/ great size studio room

Staff wasn’t exactly friendly. Room was very cold. Couldn’t get the heater to work in the room.

Pretty easy check in etc. Studio was a bit dated but priced accordingly.

I would say we did have a lovely stay however there are some things that can be improved. King size bed felt like we were sleeping on a trampoline, definitely needs replacing. No bread board in site. Pepper but no salt, not enough toilet paper and rubbish bags for a six day stay. Balcony in a sad state.

What a magic place to stay. My room was so tidy and clean, the facilities were awesome, reception lady was just lovely and delightful! Totally go back again. Unless I couldn’t find it, the only thing I missed was having a compendium to read through about local restaurants, etc. thanks.

Only stayed for 1 night. Nice room with sea view.

I loved that it was right in between the beach and the Mountain, also the fact that cbd was just down the road & we were able to walk there was so cool. Overall loved our stay & will definitely be coming back x

I found the various messages in forming us what would happen if we did not do things correctly quite off putting. For example, please wash your dishes upon departureor we will take thirty dollars from your bond..Not very warm and welcoming. Kitchen absolutely mimimally fitted with utensils. Bit sad as the room was lovely and even had access to an outside terraced area.

Great location

The hotel is in a great spot close to the beaches and cafes. The unit we were allocated was right on a busy road and is quite dated. The furnishings need a refresh. The pool was closed. I used the gym , which was ok. Parking is safe and adequate.

Staff present for only a short period of time eg checkout/checkin.

Very handy to the beach shops and restaurant plus safe car park under hotel.

dirty and uncomfortable

I required room in high level, or upstairs, but they provided group level room for me. inside room is dirty. I hope can get some money refund. I believe I paid too high cost to stay in such rubbish hotel

Discovered the pool was being renovated and had to pay to go to public pools. One of the reasons for booking the accommodation, was the onsite pool. A few things in need of repair, eg. Broken drawer, net curtains (needed to be washed), dining table.

Location Great Our Studio apartment was very tired although clean.

Heartless people would not move our reservation which we needed to do due to a medical emergency. Will not consider staying here again.

Liked location, prompt online service, if that what you like. No personal touch(, no phone service, pubic hair in bathroom draw. Old toilet roll on ground at rear verandah, spare blankets sheets stuffed on cupboard un folded, old flat towels, no toiletries provided, musty room. Would request refund if there was some service/person to talk to

friendly staff good location ideal for short stay. was a little noisy with landscaping work below our apartment from early morning. otherwise we enjoyed the stay.

We enjoyed the spacious room and the convenient location. The pool and spa were beautiful. However there were no cereal plates. The towels were small and well worn.

showers bathroom need upgrades.As old needs refresh....And kitchen area...Good location but when i went to website it showes twin towers.Not known till i got confirmation i was on ground floor .Asham.Pictures on line should show lower ground units.Not highlight towers an get lower unit....

The location next to the Mount

Needs to be updated. Drab. Very expensive for what you get. Photo’s online look at lot better than what you actually get. One plus free off road parking.

We were led to believe it was the twin towers we were paying for, we ended up in a dark, dingy, dirty, smelly, undesirable room and building. Also bathroom towels were mismatched and face clothes looked like they were used to wash the floors, discolored and worn out. Very disappointed 😔 if you view the ad for hotel they focus on the real twin towers which is beautiful !!!! Will never go there again or recommend this property !!!

At the foot of Mount Manganui, right on the summit trail and a block from an amazing beach. Easy walk to great restaurants, too. The rooms are large, staff was great, hot pool was nice and warm, pool was small but clean and refreshing, place is a little old/dated, but NO complaints.

very central to beach and shops and eating places.Great for out door activities.. Id recommend but just needs a little work done to bring it up to scratch.

I love the pools to be able to relax. It was easy access to everything and safe to walk around as a lady on her own. Thank you :-)

I am only giving the ocean side resort two stars. The room was nice and located close to the beach. However when I arrived, there was sand in the bed and on the sheets. When I went to the front desk to ask for my sheets to be changed. The manager said someone would do it. But no one ever came and changed them. I ended up having to take off all the blankets and use a hand towel to brush off all the sand. It was gross and I am really disappointed by the staff at the hotel. That seems unacceptable for a 5 star hotel.

Ocean

Super convenient location, everything walkable and close to the hotel. Our room was pretty tired, and wasn’t the cleanest when we checked in. The hallway just wafted food smells into our room the whole time we were there. Bed was very uncomfortable. Just needs some updating. Very good shower!

Property is dated and over priced for condition. Property Manager is less than helpful and was very rude towards my partner

It was in a good location close to everything but we went out for a couple hours, came back and housekeeping had come to replace a towel and did not close the door properly so all our valuables could’ve been taken as we were gone for a good amount of time was not impressed

Basic accommodation. Good location if want to be close to the beach, but not super close to the shops. No frills, but adequate.

Great heated spa & pool. Comfortable bed. Large room. Rubbish bin had not been emptied in our room from previous occupancy. However on check out when I mentioned it I did receive an apology. We were travelling with overseas visitors who commented on the various notices in the room about various “rules” and what you would be charged extra for if you did not “comply”. Eg: bottles had to be placed in bins in the basement. If you forgot anything in the room after checking out there would be a fee tp open up. Our guests found this off putting.

It was clean , walking distance to ocean and bars, shopping

Our stay was fine. Only problem we had was a motor type noise somewhere in the building went all night - not bad enough to keep us awake but if this was sorted would have been a perfect stay - oh one other matter, was only one wine glass - just wasn't same drinking out of normal glass :).

The unit we stayed in was really dated, had a dangerous light switch, a light partially hanging from ceiling, most white white coloured lamps, a throw for a blanket on the bed... personally would not stay again.

Good location. Comfortable bed. Sadly the room was so disappointing. I had booked a weekend away for myself and 7 year old daughter as an end of year treat. I think we lucked out and got the worst room in the building! It was nothing like any of the pictures online. It felt empty and dark. The only lighting was fluroescent which doesnt create a nice ambience. The curtains had lost hooks so were not hanging well. They were also mouldy. The room could defintely do with some extra furniture and a fresh coat of paint. We liked the pool and car park was handy. However we will not return in the future.

This property is older but clean and tidy and very spacious. The only downside this stay was when I went to the reception to ask for washing powder for the laundry I wasn't told there was a $2 charge which I would happily paid, but the day after checkout I found we were charged on our credit card. Would have been nice to know.

Filthy leaky building, tatty worn out smelly hole!

Liked nothing. I thought I was booking the high rise twin towers instead we got an old dark dingy place next door. The whole thing is shrouded in trickery.

No milk on arrival, takes your bond straight away, don't get bk on departure, have to wait 4days, toilet had mould on walls, sofa bed broken

Check in was terrible there was no one on the counter before 2pm to get checked in and as we had an event at mid day to attend we wanted to leave the vehicle there then we had to leave our event early to make sure we could get keys and access to the parking. The room was tidy and clean but bare minimum in there not even fresh milk in the fridge for a coffee in the morning. Would never book to go there again.

Great place for a get away from the madness of everyday. Have been able to recharge batteries, rest and now refocus on what is important.

I wouldn’t stay here again

Great rooms with plenty of space and outdoor area.

Loved that the property was walkable to the restaurants. Easy check in and out. Felt it was overpriced for the condition that the room was in. Very old looking and outdated.

This was not as expected: a sliver of an ocean view between two huge Towers that we paid additional for the ocean view (so miss-leading), dated property from the early nineties, and the hallways smelled weird, you had to clean and clear rubbish and do dishes otherwise you could be charged an additional $90 fee if you didn't help keep the rooms clean and clear, the shower was awful and leaked if you turn the shower head anyway, there was no power to the dryer in the unit as the fuse had blown and we had to wait for some to come to fix that and although they did really should they had to have?, the Resort hold an extra charge on your card for 48 hrs only told at check-in that an additional $240 needed to be charged, we had no option as we had already accommodation to Wotif the Resort not going to refund us accommodation so had to pay it or loose it very annoying, and then let you know only on checkout via email mind you... that it could take up to 10 days for that charge to be released back to your ccard and they blame your bank for that ...not true since I work at my bank! and oh they hope we understand this...so for two nights this was not the best stay ever! and could be greatly improved for guests but hey I might have too high a standard maybe?! will not be returning nor recommending this accommodation!

I can't think of the last time I had to use an actual physical key at a hotel. Of course with this type of lock you need to remember to lock the door when entering or exiting your room. Might be a good idea to remind people of that when they check in.

The place needs maintenance. The bathroom fan doesn’t work. The room is very dark and everything is tired. The floor covering around the shower plug is bulging. We were disappointed and were hoping to be offered a view, not just looking at a garden.

We have stayed at Oceanside two times and have found no problems with cleanliness, staff were very helpful and efficient. Being able to walk to shop,eateries and the beach is great. We will stay at Oceanside again.

Good area close to most things

Very limited reception hours. No one on staff during lunch hour… hard to communicate when no one is there too often.

So disappointed with not just the maintenance and cleanliness of the rooms and general areas (hallways etc) but our travel party had TWO seperate rooms booked - both paid for extra beds to be set up in the rooms. Whilst the extra sofa/rollaway beds were set up neither had pillows! Why did we pay for a half made bed?? This happened in both rooms! And our friends room had three registered guests but only 2 towels - and again ZERO pillows on the extra bed they had paid for to be made up? This is just pure cheap behaviour and a rip off. And no one was at reception when we tried to get pillows or towels, and no one there at check out either… probably to avoid all the complaints.

Enjoyed our stay in the spacious one bedroom apartment and specifically the hot spa pool. Would have liked if TV could be linked to the wifi network to enable other options than Sky tv. Will definately visit again.

The apartment is very spacious and in good condition. It has the slowest internet speed we have come across for many years and is not suitable for working remotely. A better stock of basics such as toilet paper, paper towels and laundry detergent would be an improvement.

Good spacious accommodation let down with dirty kitchen cupboards minimal cups etc and mean supplies of milk etc

Room was simple, and clean. Manager was friendly and helpful. Secure car parking . Super close to restaurants and beach. As we were on ground floor, we just found it noisy, lot of people and street noise. Thank you for your hospitality

Great stay at Oceanside Resort

Enjoyed our weekend break the room was big and clean and tidy. We lived where it was situated close to amenities. We would definitely come back again.

Liked convenience of nearby shopping & beach. Dislike: Rooms looking tired & bedding needs to replaced with crisp, clean linen, duvet etc. Linen looked discoloured, grey.

A very dated but tidy facility. Good location but in desperate need of an update.

The tiles around the outside area were very slippery as it had been raining. I feel there should have been warning signs. Also the unit was very dim and could have used more lighting. Proximity to actin vities and dining is excellent.

Generally our stay was fine very nice staff .Room is getting a bit tired lighting wasn't the best and TV hit and miss. Excellent position road noise intrusive but bearable. We will go back and choose another room

The property is tired. Bed was of poor condition and old stains on the quilt.
