Not good experience.
No hot water. The customer service in the kitchen was very bad have to wait for 1/2 hr for the server. Beach wasn't good. The keys for the room wasn't working correctly. I Wil not recommend this hotel.
The room was clean, facility was average condition, food was okay not much choices. The staff by the buffet seemed upset most of the time, they barely smiled or said good morning, good evening etc. The pool and beach are nice good for families since they have a playground. Entertainment was regular ended pretty early most nights.
The hotel cleanliness is a concerning issue. My family and I got food poisoning from the buffet from day 1 preventing us from enjoying the rest of our trip in Mexico. The room given to my aunt smelled funky and the bathroom was not clean. She had to request to be moved to a different room because the smell was intolerable. When you walked in the hallways, there was water dripping down and coming out from the walls. The pool water seemed to not have been cleaned in a while. Overall, the hotel seemed neglected and definitely not worth it’s rating.
First, hotel does not have AC. Rooms were not available on time. Room had roaches. Room was dirty. Mini bar was missing one leg and it would fall over. I asked to be moved to another room they would not do it. I paid for a good view room they gave me garden view. Staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Food was terrible, cold not well prepared, we had kids and they had no variety. Pool area had almost no umbrellas. Overall my experience in this hotel was terrible.
Overall this location would be something I will come back with my friends and family.
It had a nice beach access and pool. Buffet was not very good 😳
El personal es muy amable, Rogelio nos atendió súper bien, nos ayudó a coordinar nuestras actividades. Y unos de los meseros destacados está Ricky, súper atento siempre!
Hotel needs some cleaning
It was all inclusive and for what ever reason they charge $15 on my card. They ask you for a credit card when u check in, usually all inclusive don't. please be careful when checking out, make sure to ask you don't owe anything. We paid over $374 for one night only for ALL inclusive so why was a charge, we didn't buy anything from them. Resort needs some major cleaning. Rooms and food were just ok. nothing special.
The staff is fantastic! Miguel and Jesus are fantastic bar tenders!! Viktor was a fantastic entertainer, really enjoyed talking with him as well! We would definitely come back.
Kids were getting feet hurt due to tiles from pool coming off. Pools were in bad condition. Service super slow. Food was not bad but same. No beach. Better options out there.
Food is not the best
Had a good time
The food was nasty. Not enough options.
I was traveling by myself and was trying to stick to a budget. It was my first time in Cancun and my first time in Mexico so I picked the Hotel Zone. The Ocean Spa resort was very safe. As a single woman I was not concerned for my safety at all at the facility, on the beach or walking in the area. There were lots of friendly tourists and families. The facility was very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. My room was nice, clean, comfy with a nice shower. I was pleasantly surprised when all the meals (including the bar) were included in the price. I thought it just included breakfast. I really enjoyed the food. The buffet always included healthy options but you could dine off a menu as well. There is a walk/bike trail on the road that is clean and easy to exercise. The ferry to go to Isla Mujeres was about a 5-10 minute walk. I took that by myself and felt very safe touring around that island. The only thing I would say about the Hotel Zone is that none of the beaches seem that great. Lots of seaweed. The beaches on Isla Mujeres were pristine. The other thing is I couldn't find was a place to get a pedicure so I went without! All and all a really nice stay. I'd recommend Ocean Spa and would stay there again.
This has a nice family atmosphere. The food was good, all the staff were very helpful and it was very clean. We did not get sick eating the food or drinking the water. We ocean water was a bit murky so we didn’t swim there but took the shuttle to other beaches. Note: it did cost more upon check in than Expedia had listed (17000 mxn instead of 10000)
More veg options needed
This a smaller and older property, but is really a gem! The staff couldn’t be any nicer! The food choices are great and can’t say there was ever a bad meal. Very relaxing time!
Location of Hotel, Staff activities good, Food. All good for average budget
We stayed Sunday to Sunday. The first night we arrived late we headed to the buffet to eat and the selection was so so small and unappetizing we ended up doing the snack bar instead. Burgers and hotdogs from the snack bar are terrible. Stick with the pizza if you even dare book this place. Technically there's 1 buffet and 3 restaurants, but the restaurants are NOT open everyday. You need to be very very aware what is open on what days. The beach is terrible with tons of seaweed and rocks/concrete. The pictures are extremely deceiving. None of the furniture pictured is present on the beach. The chairs all need to be replaced as they are incredibly worn. The water is ok, you can go out pretty far and only be at waist hight HOWEVER lots of little brow jelly fish present. An absurd amount of vendors (activities, hats, cheap jewelry, sun glasses, fruit), you get pestered every 20 minutes. Staff does not bring you drinks on the beach like other resorts. Music is always too loud by the pool. Plus sides: cabanas are free, not busy at all so you never have to fight for a chair in a good spot either by the pool or on the beach. Warning for parents: ADULTS ONLY IS NEXT DOOR, if you don't want your kids seeing topless drunk breasts, do not walk towards that resort. There is a fair gap between the two resorts so if you stay on this beach it's not a concern. This beach does sit between 2 busy docs. It's loud and obnoxious between 9-11 and then 2-4 at launch and return of all the tour boats
Overall I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was excellent, the food was really good and there were a lot of healthy options which was great. The room was comfortable but very outdated. Easy access to the pool, the ocean and a nice walking path right out the door. The entertainment staff was outstanding. It is a small and quaint place and I really enjoyed my stay here.
everything was great I enjoyed each day
Unlike all of the disappointing and discouraging reviews here, I would like to give them 4 stars 🌟 review for the following reasons based on ny own experience and priorities. 1- Very polite, caring and honest staffs from the front desk to kitchen to house keeping to maintenance , security and management. Hotel was always full staffed for 24/7 services and were always available and caring for any requests. 2- Cleanness, everybody cleanings that includes the cleaning of the rooms, pools , restaurants, landscaping, etc. 3- Diversity and availability of foods and drinks. Open bar and buffet breakfast with international cuisine. 3 restaurants that offer Mexican, Italian and Asian food every night from 6 to 11pm. Open buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Daily hot and fresh Grill and pizza from 12 to 6 pm. 4- Close to all major activities that are offered by other recreational businesses like ferry, daily tours, shows and etc. 5- Pools for kids and adults with the open side bar. 6- kids zone with limited activities that worth trying and will keep your kids busy enough for hours. NOTES, 1- If you want to spend dollars not the pesos, take enough cash with you as the banks, ATMs , businesses will charge large transaction fees. 2- The building will look old but they have done lots of interior remodeling and painting to keep it to look updated and renewed. It worth the money you pay lesser than other all inclusive hotels that offering the same services.
Absolutely nothing. My room on the third floor and no elevator
Very friendly and clean. Beach was stinky and full of seaweed
Excellent.
First couple days no hot water, food was not to very good. Beach looks more like a pier for boats. Staff was very friendly. I don't think I will be staying here again.
I didn’t like there no food after 11 at night you come from a tour there’s no food or bar
The location of the Buffet Restaurant is perfect. You will feel and smell the fresh sea breeze while dining. The downside and very frustrating is that SAME food is serve everyday. No variation.
No habia agua caliente en la regadera y nadie tomo en cuenta mi reclamo por 3 dias y ademas falta de toallas .
The food wasn’t tasty, the best dish were the grilled burgers. Food was cold. Shower and sink water wasn’t hot. It’s very irritating to take Luke warm showers
Lovely Place!
In good location. The beds and bathroom are bad. Need a serious upgrade.
Hotel was clean and comfortable, however there was no outside seating area to sit for a drink in the evening, just a very small bar inside (15 seats) Food was awful.
The staff were great, property was clean. The pool was not the best, needs renovating, upgrading. Low quality drinks/alcohol. The buffet was ok, but the restaurant food Asian & Intalian were not good. The beach area was very disapointing. Cannot swim in the ocean, too much sea weed. The beach is not swept, cleared as in most resorts.
3rd floor steps not very safe and staff not so friendly service was not so good food was bad
Poor customer service
The food was not great. Not a lot of variety, same menu every single day. They didn't have many activities so the stay at the resort got boring. I've been at other all inclusive where there is so much to do and the vibe is amazing. This was not it
DONT PAY FOR A ROOM WITH OCEAN VIEW, you will not get one! I did, and my view was the playground. Was told there was nothing we could do about it, even after showing the front desk people my reservation that clearly stated “ocean view”. Other than that, the bartenders were very nice. Food came out quick at the restaurants. The buffet had barely anything to chose from. It’s a very small, not very lively resort. Overall, I don’t think I’d recommend staying here.
Property does not look like pictures and rooms are very small. Staff is super friendly and helpful.
The staff and facilities were excellent. The food no good at all. There is a lat of room for improvement in the kitchen.
Nothing
Property is old no activity. Food are not good
I literally starved the food was horrible I mean it really was what pissed me off was during breakfast the only ate able food was toast and when u ask for 2 slices they made a big deal /oh and I kept a do not disturb sign on my door and housekeeping would still come in /camillo/Enrique /Carlos/Jorge/ Abraham/Jesus we’re amazing other then the food being trash n house keeping entering without permission it was ok
A nice property with welcoming and positive staff members. A beautiful location right off the beach. When I checked in they could not locate my Expedia reservation and that they were completely booked up with no information from Expedia. The staff member had me e-mail them a copy of my reservation and other supporting documents. I was asked if I could/would cancel my Expedia and book directly with them. I was told that there was one cancelation and I would be given an emergency booking for a different room. I accepted the room and enjoyed my time staying at Ocean Spa Hotel. I checked my email and saw that my Expedia information was affirmed. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The inclusive option included a restaurant and a buffet. The restaurant was very good.
Because of the Pandemic, a will give them a break. But, there are better values as I find out.
I like this property. It is the third time I’ve stayed here but I do see signs of wear and tear/decline. I stayed four nights and not once did I have hot water for shower. The staff is always excellent I do have to give special kudos to everyone jumping in to clean up the debris from hurricane Grace!
Beautiful beach, if small. Nice pool and lounge area. However, the food was terrible!!! Bland and almost always undercooked!! Seems as though the chef had no idea what spices were and we were afraid to eat the pork as it always looked raw in the middle. Away from the resort the local food was excellent but when you pay for "all-inclusive," you don't expect to have to go spend a lot of money finding something you can eat that you have to pay more for. The hotel staff were very friendly and courteous but the rep for the travel agency, Ms. Leticia Molina, was extremely rude and discourteous!! It turns out the travel agency fails to disclose that you must attend a timeshare sales presentation to get the price we paid, so we ended up paying another $400 or lose a whole day having someone try to sell us something we never wanted. NOT what we went all the way to Cancun to do, and VERY deceptive of the agency!
La comida malísima, nada de variedad. Creo q lo peor fue la comida . Las habitaciones normales , pero la verdad no mandaría ningún amigo para allí
Loved everything but the food selection
the staff were all very polite and courteous, I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone who is in that area.
Excellent staff , friendly and attentive
All inclusive and if u need a bottle of water you need to go to front desk to ask for!!!! You can’t request more than one bottle of water, Small fridge at room don’t have anything, is only for decoration. Staff is friendly but is not only that, for the price you pay here u can get better options in cancun !!!!!! Never again at this hotel for sure!!!!!
The room was horrible, it had a terrible smell. You have to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to your room if on the third floor Hotel has no elevator, and the stairs are on the outside.. Very old hotel. Towels was stained, afraid to use them.
Nice, smaller resort that wasn’t too crowded. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Drinks were great...bartenders made whatever crazy concoction we asked for. Hotel was clean and the buffet food was good. Beach was fine but not a great swimming beach. Air conditioners were loud and no gym on premises. They wanted us to sit through timeshare presentation upon checking in before activating our key and giving us access to our room so be prepared for that...concierge was flat out mad when we refused to sit and talk with her. It was perfect for what we wanted...long weekend get away but will stay someplace else with a nice beach next time since we aren’t really pool people.
Staff is extremely courteous, they teach you a little Spanish, and i like my room
Made me feel special . Really cute resort my room was facing the water .
What i like about this hotel is everything. Clean and comfortable rooms, nice view , but what i like more was the services and the staff was excellent. I really recommend this Hotel ... vff7
The property is good for families. It has a pool and is close to the beach. However after 9pm there is not much to do on the property. There is also a group that speaks to you when you check in or check out for a share group. The property can use some updating as well.
It was ok. Most staff was friendly. Some went above and beyond. Everything shuts down by 11:00, which is frustrating because there is pretty much nothing else in walking distance. The room was nice and clean. We had an issue with our TV on our final night, and someone came within 5 minutes to fix it which was great.
The staff is great. Same as the food. And the service
The church is right across the hotel. There is a convenient store, bank, etc... The bus is accessible.
the room was comfortable and perfectly cleaned every day. the balcony felt like a cave and there was no view garden or otherwise. Some of the staff were wonderful but others were downright rude.
Ocean spa hotel was great no complaints. Great staff as well
Everything was very nice; food was delicious and every day they had several activities for all ages. Loved it!
Clean hotel. Very welcoming staff. Food is delicious. Personal beach and pools are really relaxing.
The staff was very friendly, the propeety needs a little update but we were able to visit the other locations. My daughter made new friends . Overal was a pleased visit.
Terrible hotel , the room is very bad and the food
I didn't like the food, it was everyday same menu and no variety. I didn't like that they said they had activities for the kids, but they didn't.
Great service and perfect for families.
Our room was the perfect location, right off the garden. Tons of activities for my two children, ages 6 and 10. Angel was amazing and showed my kids how to paddle board and took us out on the Bobbie cat. Rafael and Alan were great servers at the pool. This hotel had the best service. The food was okay. My kids ate the hamburgers and hot dogs and fruit. I ate from the bbq, omelette and pasta station. I would definitely recommend and go back.
Close to the beach, very friendly and attentive staff, you will not find another all inclusive for this price
The staff is super courteous and friendly. Hotel is small but cozy , older too but very well kept.. Not overcrowded or noisy. Very relaxing atmosphere. Food is delicious , a lot of options. They could improve in dessert , sort of repeated but it’s ok, but that’s just my personal taste. Beach is more of a port but you can use the beach in the other hotel sisters they have.
Great place
Nice place to stay at. Staff very helpful and always available when we needed assistance.
It was okay. The rooms were old and bathroom were older. Beach isn’t as pretty. Staff is okay
Everything was great! First time in Cancun and it was amazing! No complaints at all!
I loved every aspect of this stay ! Amazing staff and total tranquillity!
Very basic hotel. The room was clean but definitely no frills. An extra chair or table would in the room be nice as the only place to sit was the bed. Areas of the hotel looked very worn, especially the beach furniture. Food was average. I ate in the ala cart restaurants for dinner and service was agonizingly slow. It was usual to wait 20-30 minutes before anyone came to take your order even though there were only 12 tables in the restaurant. Buffet and pool bar staff were great. Beach is ok. The sand was beautiful, but it is in an area with a lot of seaweed in the water.
Ok hotel on the beach
The eating facilities and food was amazing. The staff was always willing to help and tale care of the guest. Always some kind of activity taking place at the pool or on the beach. No sales people trying to get you to their time share presentations running around the resort. The pool and swin up bar were a nice add on. All in all this was a great stay!
My entire stay was amazing, from the helpful staff to the location.
good quality for low price
The staff was amazing; they were the best part. Anyone and everyone bent over backwards to do anything for you. Although it appears to be an older facility, it is will kept and maintained. Always saw staff completing maintenance and cleaning. Rooms were average, but clean with daily maid service. All inclusive meals were average; variety is what was lacking, but we never went hungry. Could have used more than one beer choice (Corona); it got old after week.
Staff makes this place.
The underpaid staff makes this place.they say tips are included, however since I worked for tips and being from Chicago it's impossible for me not to tip. The staff treats non tippers and tippers almost the same,I wish I could say the same about some people that work the front desk. All in all everyone that works tries to make your stay as good as possible. This is the second time we've stayed here in the last three years and it's only gotten better.
Not for leisure but prefect for taking tours
This is not a hotel to enjoy your days drinking with leisure at the beach, but for the price it is a very nice hotel. I booked this hotel to meet with my family and take tours. We had three very different experiences: 1) My brother got a room above the spa, right in front of an elevator, had wall mounted massage shower heads; the room was facing the street and had no balcony 2) mine was facing the garden with a balcony. The room was very standard for any hotel nice and clean, but we were on a third floor there was no elevator and the views on the corridors leading to the room were either the street traffic or roofs, nothing picture worthy 3) my sister’s family were on a second floor with a balcony facing the garden and the pool. Although the view was better and the room bigger (two queen beds) the room had a musky smell and was the most outdated of all rooms. Moving on to the alcohol situation, there’s no top shelf alcohol in the entire hotel. The food wasn’t the best I’ve had at other all inclusives, but there was always fresh fruit, lots of veggie options and savory stews, soups, etc. The beach is really small and there’s natural algae which makes it look not clean but actually they have a crew cleaning the shore 4 times a day and burrying the dead algae to keep it eco friendly. There’s always activities and the staff makes sure to invite guests. Overall great place to stay in between tours
Great time at the hotel in November.
We stayed 2 nights in this resort. It’s a great location with quick access to downtown (R2, 12 pesos) and hourly shuttle to its hotel chain (3 other hotels). Sunset Royal Resort has a much better beach we found. This resort has free kayaks, one tennis court and table tennis for rent at no charge. The staff were very friendly, from front desk, to bar staff and restaurant staff. They always smiled and offered tequila to us. We tipped them at the end. Room was clean. Shower hot water was a bit weak but it’s ok.
Nice staff, not very many places to eat. It says 5 restaurants, but does not explain that 2 are only open 2 nights each per week. There are never 5 places open at one time...three to choose from at one time at max.
Delicious food, good location it is ok for price
You get what you paid, food was delicious, the breakfast better than diner , helpful staff closed by bus to Coco bongo , the only bad is the rooms needs update
affordable inclusive
Food was good, staff was friendly, small stretch of beach, pillows were flat and uncomfortable.
Excelente
Was wonderfully been there have a pleasant days at the beach
Wonderful service!
The food service was impeccable! The waiters anticipated our every wish and sometimes brought us a treat we were not familiar with as well. They remembered our preferences like we were family! Charming and always a smile. The dining rooms offered different foods. The Asian choices were previously frozen and not as tasty as I expected. The buffet had many choices and the food was well seasoned and we found it delicious. Our room was small, but our son's room was a good size and had a table with two chairs for inside comfort. The queen sized beds (2 in each room we saw) were not very comfortable. The AC didn't work right so we had someone out 3 times. They arrived immediately and fixed the problems. The swimming pool was immaculate as was the swim-up bar. The mixed drinks tasted like they used artificial sweetener. They used our sodas that we preferred when we brought them in.
When I checked in, there was an outraged couple checking out. I was told that the hotel needed my passport.. They were rude to me when I refused to listen to their timeshare talk. The room I requested was unavailable so they gave me a room with a hot tub. Unfortunately the hot tub did not work. The food in the restaurant was not very tasty, except for the salad. I won't stay there again.
Family vacation
The hotel is ok but is in need of an upgrade. The staff was excellent and everybody was very nice. The waiters and waitresses were great and the sport activities staff was great. The food was ok but they need to change the menu at least every few days. All in all we had a great time.
Hotel needs upgrades. Bed sheets were not changed. Food was ok. Bath towels were rough.
Friendly atmosphere
Very accommodating. Friendly staff, just make sure have more than 1 face towel to use.
Rating 1 bad 10 great I give it 11/2
A/C not working, Bed felt damp, towels like sand paper, lighting poor, poor access into closet, Food, breakfast ok, lunch and dinner not good. Beverages soda cool. The list to long.
Ocean Spa
Greetings! Ocean Spa is a small and affordable hotel that is located by the lagoon area which is more quiet than the main strip near the popular bars. Still, it has a great location and it is basically in the middle of Cancun's main avenue. Public transportation right up front by the bus stop is pretty reliable and they also have shuttles to their other Sunset Hotels that you can enjoy as a guest. Food and restaurants at Ocean Spa are ok and the staff is very courteous and professional (thumbs up!). It has a private little beach, but I will recommend you to take the shuttle (which is free all day) to the Sunset Royal if you want to see a beach that looks unreal and mesmerizing! Nice hotel to go with kids and get some rest!
Service at front Desk at check in , no Good
Will not stay here again for sure! Outside Bar was ok
Hotel server and bartenders are really polite and nice. Bellboys are really helpfull
Have stayed here before and liked the smaller size, and availability of all amenities offered. Was not disappointed choosing to return for a second time.
staff & property was excellent, food was not
staff, service & property was great. restaurant & buffet food needs major improvement as it looked and tasted old and reheated. we had to go across the hotel and eat in the local restaurant which was 100% better. unlimited hot, cold & alcoholic beverages was great also. staff. service & the property. daily & nightly activities I see an older crowd participating in it. I'm not sure if they enjoyed it
Decent hotel away from the zone. It's at the end.
I bought a spa package and they tried to give me a standard room. I wasn't pro-rated for that night either. I thought all inclusive meant you didn't have to pay for meals. It wasn't badly priced and it was very good food but it wasn't included. The people were nice but if there was a problem you take it up with Travelocity? Interesting.
Good
