Amazing view, convenient location, nice staff
Loved the access to the beach, and the food was excellent.
The proximity to the ocean and the set up and layout of this hotel can NOT be beat. Staff was so friendly and helpful and lovely. The daily breakfasts were also lovely and made starting each day relaxing and scenic. The outdoor dining is unmatched because of the beauty and quaint design of hotel. I recommend a 1st floor room - each private patio is steps away from the pool, the beach, and the restaurant. So convenient and so charming. An excellent value.
Staff was friendly however no iron no blow dryer no plug by bed mosquito all in the rooms no mini fridge in deluxe rooms. How ever it is close to everything, walking distance . It is super secure. Chris the bartender is A one.
Very accommodating.
Very good place
The view is amazing you and it’s in close proximity to many local spots
Not quality
The owner was amazing the staff made us feel at home. Even after checking out the owner allowed us to stay and have fun, the stay was amazing. I would definitely recommend going here. My husband and I will definitely be going back……
My overall experience with the staff was welcoming and amazing. The only issue I had with the property was that there is limited parking available and if it rains heavily you might have difficulty accessing the property as the road will be flooded. Other than that our stay was good as the property is centrally located.
The property wasnt bad, i love the view around the back of the property.
I like the quietness, the staff was very friendly.
The property is beautiful…great ocean view. Great food. Breakfast and dinner.
The property was walking distance from the town so that was convenient The road was very narrow , filled with potholes , vehicles were always tooting their horns due the deep corner and the narrow road. On arrival the fridge was not working, no bottles of water was offered in the very hot temperatures or placed in the room. The towels are very old and discoloured. No hand towels were offered. Most day the shower was cold , or the water partially warm.Lots of screaming in the shower especially from the children. The furnitures are very old and rusty. Doors are very old and very difficult to lock especially the one to the pool area. Cockroach was noted in my room and this was reported. The room was sprayed but the next day I found it alive under my suitcase. The girls were bitten badly by mosquitoes. The breakfast was the same everyday unless you pay 10-15 US per person for a Jamaican breakfast. The lady chef was welcoming and tried her best to feed the family. Imagine every morning eating scrambled egg and fried sausages. Sometimes not enough cups to make your self a hot cup of tea so you will have to wait for waiters to wash a cup and sauce for you. Lovely area near the sea with the party boats docking nearby with loud music or tourist passing by and waving from the small boats. The staff was welcoming, and always willing to help. Perfect for short stay and the property could benefit from a renovation to make it more welcoming.
Overall this property has great potential, the exterior was decent & clean, the restaurant had great selection and is right by the ocean so calm and relaxing. The staff is friendly and service is great. However the rooms or particularly the room we stayed was in a deplorable state. The beds were hard, walls needed painting, bathroom was shabby and the vanity & mirrors cracked, old and looked dirty. The rooms are far from accommodating for the per night price. Management needs to look into updating the rooms they require lots of TLC, if the rooms are upgraded this property will be easily a 5 star experience
Excellent views of the ocean from the pool and restaurant. Inside needs renovation, it's more like a trip hazard, uneven stairs and walkway. Rooms are outdated.
Budget hotel but clean and well staffed. Complimentary breakfast was well presented and tasty. Complimemtary rum punch on arrival. Pool was clean and pool areas maintained. Room with fridge and aircon. Beach/sea view to rear. Would stay again
Customer service was great. The rooms were awful. Light bulbs not working, door not closing properly. Had to use the night table to prop the door in order to sleep. Would not stay there again
.
Always great
This is a hidden paradise. The approach (neighborhood) and the parking area is not ideal, but inside... I would stay here again and again. The Jamaican breakfast is delicious. The drinks are exquisite. The accommodations are quiet, safe, and fun or romantic depending on your wants.
Enjoyed my stay
It was a great experience, staff was friendly and very accommodating, food and drink were on point only issue I had was my AC stopped working but the staff relocated me to another room really quickly.
I have been coming ocean palms since 2019 and have always enjoyed my stay there, however on this occasion it was the worst experience ever and thats mainly due to the receptionist horrible behaviour ask her a question she doesn't reply she was huffing and puffing they gave me a dirty wet room the floor was full of straney hair all over the floor i asked to change she lied and said they were all gull looked threw the window of the room next door i was eventually allocated the room after alot of silence sigbing kiss teet the little short one at the desk with the glasses she needs alot of customer service training. Also had alot of bugs is the room leaking fridge and the ac was not working properly and this supposed to be a premium deluxe room absolutely awful and not worth the money
Wonderful staff
The young people working there.
The staff was great and access to the beach was lovely and the beach was very private. This allow you to relax in comfort. This would be a four star or higher if they spend some more money on cleanliness. Overall, I nice pleasant hotel on a budget. I would stay there again
I was there for 3 days and 2 nights and had no house keeping. The view is lovely and we were in the town and close to most food places or excursion locations.
Great budget stay
When I arrived I was greeted by every member of the staff that walked by or even help with check in. The rooms were ready, well organized and clean. The way they describe the room as a pool and beach view was exactly as mentioned. I received a nice refreshing welcome drink when I got settled in. Then I tour the grounds and the place is kids friendly with many views of excitement. The only thing I believe the hotel could change is the speed that the restaurant lounge area had. When you want to enjoy every moment every minute count you could tell that the restaurant staff needs to work on time management to get the food out to the guest. But the food was excellent!
Good experience
The property was beautiful and included an awesome breakfast choice which was delicious. The location was in a quite dark alley in not such a friendly area of Ocho Rios.
Close to everything
The location was convenient.
My overall experience was ok. The kitchen and bar staff were nice and the food was good. The rooms need a refresher but I could see where they changed the tiles. The doors and sink needs changing and also the varnish on the front door needs to go. Apart from that, the hotel is close to the town and local amenities. There isn’t much of a beach, only a small part of the coast line but beaches are nearby. The internet was great in the rooms but I wasn’t restaurant and beach area but it was an ok experience.
It was a great short stay, not too busy which I was disappointed to see; however, overall great and comfortable experience.
I had a reservation and when I got there, there was no room available
I’d say to give them some time before booking. They are renovating so the stay will be below par. I stayed back in 2021 and it was great! This time the rooms are terrible, tv don’t work, ac don’t work properly and makes noises. The lady at the front desk was very nonchalant about the whole thing and pretty much told me to take it or leave it. The only thing working for them right now is the God given view.
Great view!!! Clean and relaxing!!
This property needed to be updated, the bathroom was dirty , it was dirty mattresses by my room door making it hard to get in and out. Parking sucked, there was two days when they didn’t have a chef . Pool wasn’t cleaned .
Been coming here for two years and love it
No room cleaning or fresh towels given after arrival. Had to use the same dirty white bed linen and towels throughout our stay. Not good
Ok
hot they only have fans
The one issue I cannot overlook is the unfriendly staff. In the hospitality industry, friendly staff is an absolute must. Some of the front desk staff was friendly but not all of them. Housekeeping staff rarely said hello or smiled even when I greeted them with good morning or good afternoon. The hotel site says they offer airport shuttle. Despite requesting airport pick-up via messaging and calling them the day before, when I arrived at the airport, I had to call the hotel again and I waited over 2.5 hours for the taxi to arrive. You have to pay cash directly to the driver, something I was not prepared to do. I had to ask him to take me to a bank to get cash from the ATM. The hotel is in a good location to be able to walk around main street Ocho Rios and get to restaurants and the craft markets. However, I do not recommend walking back down the side street to the hotel after dark, unless it is a Friday or Saturday night when all the shops and bars along the street are open and there is a lot of activity. Advertising they offer airport shuttle is misleading. Guests are better off either taking the Knutsford Express bus to Drax Hall and taking a taxi from there. If you take a taxi from the airport to Ocho Rios, be prepared to pay approximately $130 USD cash. Despite the misleading airport shuttle offer and the location, if the staff was friendlier, I would consider staying there again to support local business. Friendly staff is a must.
It was wonderful enough that my time with my other half was amazing.
The property is horrible, unprofessional, dirty and. Or in a safe neighborhood.
The hotel was good, it is dated but it’s okay for the price if you are on a budget. The hotel is near everything like night clubs, mahogany beach etc.. but we would have rather had a resort that had a lot of amenities and excursions within the resort.
Firstly the conditions was not worth the price, property needs major updating. Seems like the money isn’t invested back into the business. Simple fixtures such as shower head needs to replace as it’s clogged and sprays in every direction, bathroom door needs to change and toilet clogged. We had to ask for small towels as none are left in the room. Tissue seems to be on ration! We had some blue tore up bed sheets! Walls are PAPER THIN LOL can hear every word that’s spoken, if persons book with kids please let them stay on the bottom floor, the constant running up and down was a nuisance! Pros: The food Jamaican food was good (pay in JMD). The view was nice from the back of the property, the staff attitude was very pleasant, the resort is located in a good area nearby a high traffic area, walking distance.
Great stay
Overall the experience was good
The Property didn’t look like nothing that is put on line there is a leak over the stairway there wasn’t no wash cloth in the room ants was everywhere overall the place could used a face lift.
everything looks very old needs to improve as it is a good property
Very nice and accommodating staff, who are very responsive to our needs. Unfriendly business across the street who made parking non-existent and harassed us and other guests because of the limited parking.
Something as basic as an iron was not in the room. We had to request that and an ironing board from the front desk. The iron took about 30 minutes to get to us while the ironing board never made it any at all. The breakfast was small, and the Orange juice was replaced with Tang. Front desk staff was courteous. The lamps in the rooms had no bulbs so it was really poor lighting in the room overall. Ocean Palms is on my good for a night if you desperately need somewhere to lay your head but not for that price at all. I was not pleased.
I'm just Saying, if you're going to Jamaica or your in Jamaica do not book your hotel through Expedia, make sure you call the hotel you're going to and you can speak to someone there. When you're in a country like Jamaica and your phone may not even work and you can't get a hold to anyone this place I don't even know if it exists cuz I didn't even see it that'sthe best advice I can give you.
Very nice place
Really enjoyed our stay at this resort. Nice pool and beach side access. Great continental breakfast and very friendly staff that did everything to make her stay enjoyable, including a free trip to the blue hole.
Staff service was excellent
I will stay here again beautiful ocean view
View was beautiful. Room was clean, bathroom needed a lot of updates. Area is not touristy, appears more residential. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Terrible experience to the so called resort
When we arrived, the guy in counter does not even know if we have booking and goes on saying did you talk to hotel before arrival. With the use of translator, finally he was able to find it. The room was Farley clean but restroom was disappointing and smelling. They also don’t seem to do any room service all throughout the stay. The breakfast and lunch menu says they have a lot of options but they never have anything other than one or two options and food is terrible. Their beach access is not really a beach access but a small hideout exit next to the pool and is not maintained at all. TV is a joke, small and not many channels options. Same goes for internet. Above all, I don’t think this is a resort instead a hotel with bunch of rooms converted into so called resort. Also the access route to this hotel is also gross and commute unfriendly.
Great stay for family
Great stay. My granddaughter loves the pool.
Overprice, included breakfast is a joke, they do not clean up the rooms unless you insist, staff does not know the world customer service!
The food was amazing. No need to buy outside of property.
This hotel's location is the best for safe, easy walking access to so much to see and do in Ocho Rios! Avoid driving in traffic snarls and stay here -- the staff are the best!
The location of this property is great, just off the Main Street in Ocho Rios in a smaller side street. Within walking distance of decent restaurants. The hotel itself has a pool and open restaurant with a decent view of the ocean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The amenities of the room is basic, older facilities for bathroom/shower. We had traveled with a group, while my room had a functioning AC and warm water, the other group members were in a room where the AC was not working and the warm water was out. Also, there is no elevator, so if located in the upper floors will need to use the stairs to carry your suitcases up. Overall, was a decent stay with older facilities, so just be informed when choosing to stay here.
Nice quiet location, simple nice breakfast, walking distance to restaurants No air conditioning No hot water We have carried our luggage to upstairs on our own, no elevator No help
Very satisfied
The facility was very clean and the staff was very professional and friendly. No problem with all the accommidations. I plan on staying there again in the future.
The staff. The view the over all experience was perfect.
A really nice quiet place to relax
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the room was clean. The view was amazing.
Rooms was filled with ants even in our bed. No TV only streaming which sucks and the internet signal was very poor. Awefull experience
Sorry to say
Staff were very freindly, unfortnetly the cleaniness of the room was below standard and very dissapionting. Along with having a tv in the room that did not work a wifi code that did not work also, breakfast that was served cold considering it was suppose to been cooked fresh. A very tiny beach front that is not even maintained. Overall a totally unsatisfied stay and would not recommend this facility to stay at.
Great place for kids.
Family trip. Great place for kids. Food first rate
