We liked that we were close to services we needed during our stay. I would have liked a bigger shower area, I bent down to get shampoo and whacked my head on shower handle. Or maybe im too big??? Hehe.

Only thing I could say - was the pillows were a bit hard - that’s all only because I have trouble with my neck Other then that everything else was good thank u 🙏

Value for money, was clean and quiet.

The name is misleading-ocean inn on ocean view road- it’s nowhere near the ocean. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Very thin walls. Yes, there’sa guest laundry, but $20??? It is very clean, though, looks like recent remodel, and for basic overnighting it’s ok

The room wasn't fully prepared as one would expect for a true wheelchair accessible unit as requested - HOWEVER - after speaking with management afterwards they are taking into consideration our suggestions to make the room and arrangements more suitable in the future. They appreciated our feedback.

Great place, really quiet and very clean

Not a lot around the general area, but the motel itself was great. Looks a little tired outside but the rooms are really nice. Clean, fresh feel, excellent bedding and friendly staff. Would recommend for business travelers or those not needing to be in the heart of the city.

Quick 1-night stay

Overall we are happy with the stay. Free parking, friendly manager. We appreciated the laundry facilities, but feel that NZD 20 was expensive for using the washing machine and dryer. I have stayed at other hotels with similar laundry facilities, they charged a nominally reasonable fee of NZD 2 - 4 for washing and drying respectively.

No hassle booking, great communication, allowed an early check in to suit our needs, clean room & had what we needed for a night.

It marked our inaugural visit to New Zealand, and our experience was exceptionally inviting and comfortable. The bus stop is conveniently just a 3-minute walk away. All necessary amenities, including food and grocery stores, restaurants, and a gas station, are within walking distance, ensuring convenience even for those without a car. The room was in excellent condition, and the property justifies its price. The motel staff is not only helpful but also friendly and efficient. It's undeniably a great place to stay

It is our first time in New Zealand. Great place to live. Staff is kind and helpful. Room is equipped with the mentioned things and everything such as store, pharmacy, eateries are nearby.

Compared with other Northshore motels Ocean Inn is better value. They provide a clean well equipped room, wifi, sky tv is bonus!!(welldone Ocean Inn, actually a choice of programmes to watch whe travelling alone) Staff are most friendly, any requests are met promptly with a smile. Happy to stay there on my next trip to Auckland👍

Comfortable and convenient

Was very comfortable and all we needed for our stay.

Noisy with a lot of people staying there i presume in govt housing, would not return.

Was all good but needed a good clean.

My stay was easy and comfortable. The room was clean and had all the equipment and services I required. I will try and stay there on my next visit.

lovely staff however I wasn't aware that it was a social housing motel..kids yelling and running around and kept biking past our car and looking in the windows! .had to move them out of the way to back out car out everytime! Parents yelling and arguing! Place is run down and needs a redo..bed was soft but in poor condition...no table or vanity in bathroom to put shampoo etc on..no lock on bathroom door..alot of condensation on windows.have stayed in nicer motels with way more for the price..nowhere to sit outside..when I booked the priced was $98 per night on website..when I finished the booking it was 190 per night??? It was only worth $98 per night..overall for one night stay it would be ok.. definatly wouldn't stay longer again..needs to advertise that it's an emergency housing motel!

Didn't stay long enough but it seemed ok

Very friendly welcome. Comfy and clean. Not the greatest area but ok and close to everything. Shower cubicle so small couldn’t bend over and water pulsed between cold and scalding. No chair or sofa to watch tv as a single bed and table in the small front alcove. Ok and I would stay again on next 1 night trip but not for longer stays

Good for an overnight stay, close to the city, comfortable bed, would stay again.

Worst motel ever

Worst motel I have ever been too. It was an MSD motel with people partying when I arrived. Room was very dirty and I ended up walking out and not staying. Owner swore at me in the phone and wouldn't refund the night.

I booked a motel to sleep on arrival after long trip dissappointed that we were not aware this motel housed a number of family's in emergency housing. Large group of children yelling and screaming outside playing ball and chasie. We were told that they were allowed to play and run around cars as it was daylight. Maybe the motel should look at using all its rooms this way rather than half and half as travelers after long journeys just want to rest quietly.

This motel is being used for emergency housing. Unit had broken window latches, several patched holes in walls and doors, felt pen marks on carpet and bedding, shower nozzle broken. Many comings and goings during the night. What a difference to our last stay 2 years ago. Needless to say we won’t be going be going back.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The booking was very late in the day but they ensured everything ran smoothly.

Great place and location but second stay here now and both times.... crazy neighbours having a huge fight. All kinds of nasty language been thrown back and forth at very early hours of the morning. Not sure if staying in the same Motel or a neighbouring property but is quite off putting. They need to be either kicked out or spoken with. Not good at all. Other than that though, great spot.

The unit was as expected for the price. It was clean and roomy. The bed was good and the shower performed well. We would not return though as the unit does not have a sink. It is a pain to have to do the dishes in the bathroom basin. The shower unit needs repair but it does not yet impede its performance. Re the following question - I don't know which are the facilities and which are the amenities

Electric blanket didn’t work and it was a cold night , nice room

Very disappointing.... very old and smelt musty cupboards didn’t shut, curtains didn’t fit windows not alot of water if you wanted a hot shower. Surrounds were untidy

Yes it is a very tired and needs refurbishing, but for all that its handy, clean, has good air conditioning, OK beds and reasonably priced.

Was good ideal place to stay, close to the motorway but not to close to hear the traffic. They only had a fan which was not good at all as it was a super hot day, aircon needed. Clean and comfortable happy to recommend.

Had a vacancy, near Milford Beach, shops,,motorway north.

A comfortable, convenient motel close to motorway and in a quiet residential area. Parking, laundry and outdoor drying facilities. Food shopping next door plus large shopping centres few minutes drive. Swimming pool and gym 2km and beach 10 minutes.

Our family of 5 stayed for one night in the quadruple room. It had everything we needed for a one night stay. The staff were friendly & the room was clean.

Great budget motel

Good value basic motel (especially based on crazy Auckland prices). Clean and tidy. Not a luxury motel obviously, but perfect if you just want somewhere to sleep and shower in a handy location with car parking. The owners/managers were lovely and very accomodating (we were arriving late and they left our rooms open with lights, heater etc on). Our only negative would be that the curtains are pure white and thin, and being roller blinds don’t cover the windows the way curtains do, so the sunlight comes streaming through from about 5:30ish .... if you were wanting to sleep in I would suggest taking an eye mask. The other issue was the water kept fluctuating in the shower (hot and cold) which seemed to be worse when our friend (who was in the next room) was also using the shower and would sometimes take a minute or two to kick back in. Not a major for us, but a little annoying especially when trying to wash your hair etc. Overall would definitely stay again for the price and location.

When we arrived at the premises we were told our booking had been canceled due to over booking. We never stayed at this location and would like a call back from customer service about getting a refund. Thank you

Water temperature issue

Suite Room was good but very small shower which had terrible problems with running freezing cold then boiling hot, borderline dangerous with hot water. Because shower was so small made it hard to avoid getting scolded. Hotel needs to address water issue.... maybe go to gas to avoid multiple shower uses at same time having these issues.

For a non smoking room smelt of smoke. Stays on bathroom windows needs attention

Good value motel that is ideally located close to the motorway giving easy convenient access to Auckland, Devonport and the north shore area.. Rooms clean and have what you need. Restaurants, bars and convenience store within easy walking distance.

I didn’t like anything about this motel! I was greeted by some teenager in his pajamas, I had a long term dusty car parked outside my room, it wasn’t clean, was very tiny, I could hear the ppl in the nx room, I couldn’t fit in the shower with any comfort.. Not an enjoyable stay at all! Way too expensive for what we got! Yuck!

The room was nice and lovely water pressure in the shower. Needs an extractor fan in bathroom and cold water in the fridge.

This whole place is under scaffolding and safety tape (including a Worksage prohibition notice) and is in need of major upgrade. It certainly doesn't look like the photos. Ashtrays everywhere, broken shower head and musty smell in room. Can't check out until 7.30am so not ideal if you are looking to get ahead of Auckland traffic.

Close to AUT, free parking and amenities close by.

For a budget motel I was expecting worse. Actually found the place clean, spacious, and while not modern it wasn't dated. Will be going back next time I'm working in the area

I loved the double doors in the room and how quiet it was as i was studying and doing a course.

the motel is fine to stay at but we found the beds too hard and the pillows to flat. the room was basic but it meet our minimum requirements. It is close to the beach and local amenities.

information about motel was not as described... says complimentry breakfast ... there was none says spa facility ... there was none no aircon, the room was very stuffy .. only thing we liked was the friendly and helpful lady that serviced the room.

Great owners/staff, nice basic clean motel close to central Auckland and North Shore.

Friendly and welcoming lady at reception, motel is in a handy location, easy to get to off motorway, beds were comfortable, the motel room was nothing flash but it looked and felt nice, clean and tidy, and provided all that i required. This is the 2nd time I've stayed here and would happily book a room here again.

Always stayed here in the past because it’s close to the city.

On arrival we were told our room was upstairs, which wasn't suitable for my husband. When we asked to change, it seemed a big deal for the receptionist to accommodate. The bathroom wasn't clean, but the receptionist didn't even apologise when we politely advised them.

In need of TLC

I stayed here 7 years ago and it was beautiful but unfortunately maintenance has not been kept up-to-date. On arrival the sliding door to unit hardly worked and when closed door and locked had reasonable gap at top of door. Shower cubicle door broken off hinges and unable to close properly and shower head leaking so very wet bathroom floor after showering. Advised owners who didn’t seem to care to much. Skirting mouldy, walls heavily marked Spa broken On up side despite shower leaking did have good pressure. Good location for supermarket and motorway
