Never mentioned anywhere that this is a COVID MOTEL! After we checked in there was “shelter in place” workers everywhere and they were extremely rude. They would not let us or our visitors in and out of the hotel without harassing us about our reservation. We had 2 rooms paid for but only were able to use one due to these WEIRD AND CRAZY rules that were, once again, NEVER MENTIONED! We ended up leaving early because of how HORRIBLE it was. DO NOT STAY HERE!

I have Stay in the past in this hotel I knew I was not the best but this tile was all bad the rims were so bad not clean the heather was broken and the weather was cold outside. Had to ask for a portable heather twice. Also they were questioning my guest when having visitors. They had a shelter going on some type of program and they did not tell me that when I made the reservation. I would never stay in this hotel again.

Modest motel in a busy area

The Oasis is a modestly priced choice in the Civic Center area. The rooms are clean but the beds soft and room furniture shaky. While convenient, with parking, the area is beset by homeless encampments so you need to be prepared for occasional outbursts and to step around obstructions on the sidewalks. Right now (Feb 2020) there is some construction nearby so expect trucks and crews and beeping starting at 7 am. It seems the Oasis is used for foreign student programs (Basecamp), so there is an international hostel flavor. There were ants in the bathroom, but I have them at home, too.

Reasonable budget stay

I had quiet room with no disturbance from the street, and it is a healthy walk away from the Moscone Center. The room could have been cleaner. The shelf above the luggage rack was dusty so that I couldn't use it for clothing. The neighborhood is not a nice one of San Francisco.

There is a reason why this is a budget hotel. I wasn't expecting much, but when I arrived, half of the floor in the room was soaked (with I'm hoping rain water?), with burn holes in the carpet and what looked like some abstract art in the curtains from someone rubbing their makeup off on it. The room wasn't cleaned before I arrived, as there was still lipstick smeared on the table and stuff on the floor. The heating/cooling also was not functioning, it was just heat all the time. Luckily you could turn it off and it was cool enough that I could deal without it and was only here in the evenings.

Oasis Inn basic motel that gets the job done.

It was fine. The planted courtyard was cute. It did offer a nice retreat from the surrounding area which can be a little rough. It's a basic 2 star motel that gets the job done, so it met my expectations. My room had a decent sized mini fridge, which was a nice surprise. Front desk staff was friendly. The wi-fi worked reliably.

Overall just ok would not stay here again just because of location. Streets are filled with homeless tents and smells terrible. AC in the room will not activate when it's colder outside and opening the windows won't do cuz noise level and stench is terrible. Vending machines out of stock was annoying

Do NOT recommend

This place was horrible. Everything about it was bad. I am not a picky person when it comes to hotels. I’ve stayed at 2 star motels many times before. This place had a bad location. There were so many homeless people outside. And it smelled like urine and feces. The hotel room was old. The phone was old, the bed was old, the curtains, chairs, bathroom, everything. Even the faucet, both sides were labeled cold. The bathroom was super dirty. The side of the bathtub had this brown gunk splattered on it. We called for a cleaning and no one ever came. The shower curtains looked like they weren’t changed after the last stay. There was mold in the shower too. There was no phone book to call the front desk. And there was no central AC! The only new thing was the tv. Other than that, everything else was bad. I’ve never stayed at a worst place than this. I won’t be staying here again. I wouldn’t recommend it for even short stays. Spend the extra $50/night to stay at a little nicer place. This was not worth $150/night.

Noisy

We stayed at the Oasis for 3 nights and wish we hadn't. The noise from outside is deafening and kept us awake. If you shut the window, it was too hot. The staff were polite and they have a lift, so getting cases up to the top floors is not an issue. Carpark is secure, which is why I picked it in the first place. There are a lot of homeless/crazies in the area, but to be fair there are loads all over the city. I would suggest staying there for a single night would be fine if you're a heavy sleeper.

The hotel was nice and has been re-done and renovated. No breakfast of any kind is included. The gardens are beautiful. Good inside parking. A problem is that a large number of homeless people set up their tents and sleeping bags on the streets immediately around the hotel. The room was ok. We only needed to stay one night but any more than that would have made it unacceptable. We requested a non smoking room but the cigarette smell was overwhelming. It may have been smoked in before us or maybe the smell seeped in somehow but it made the room unpleasant to be in. Everything was just ok, definitely needs upgrades, everything was just below average. There was free parking which in San Francisco is a plus. We didn't walk around the area but it was fairly close to some local landmarks. Overall we probably would not stay there again. Not the worst but also would not recommend.

The location was perfect for our trip. On site parking is a huge plus. Our room was a great size and the bed was really comfortable. The pillows were very small and only had 3 (did not have extras in room). The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot with great water pressure. Our only complaint was that the carpet at our front door and all the way to our bathroom was soaking wet. The front desk said it was from the previous day's rain. They did not offer to move us or compensate us. They did allow us to go down to the lobby to pick up extra towels to lay on the floor. Even with the multiple layers of towels the floor was wet and we could not walk in that area without shoes on. I'd have to think twice about staying here again, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Nice gall at check in. Was assigned a room that was not ready. Our next room was clean and presentable, This is an older property in need of updating. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, with homeless people sleeping and hanging around on the sidewalks. As a result, the sidewalks and surrounding area is not the cleanest. I don't blame the property for the situation surrounding the hotel. It is the city of SF that has allowed this situation to exist and deteriorate.

Good Price and Parking, But Quite Shabby.

I wanted a place to stay within walking distance of the opera, with parking. The Oasis seemed to fit the bill, and the price was very reasonable. But the room was not particularly clean--long black hairs in a clean bath towel--and the condition of the room was very battered and worn. Several lights didn't work--and nor did the little in-room refrigerator which only made a cool temperature in the freezer section when turned on to full. I needed it for medicine, but fortunately the gel packs in my portable cooler held out. The "heat lamp" in the bathroom was nothing more than an ordinary fluorescent light bulb. The foam mattress on the bed was disintegrating and was totally lumpy with a large valley in the center. Interesting holes in the wall, too. The top of the beside table was battered, as though someone had hit it with a hammer. Extra and superfluous chairs were stuck around, like they didn't have anyplace else to put them. I will not stay there again.

Great except for tv

The only thing wrong is that they don’t have newer TV sets in all rooms., they do in some

Great Inexpensive Spot - Great for Price!

This is a great place for a night or two. You get what you pay for. Rooms aren't updated and there is no AC but the rooms are clean and there's a great common area in the middle. Best shower pressure in San Francisco!!!...seriously! Free parking can't be beat either!!!! This is my go-to place when I have a short stay and don't want to be gouged by City hotel prices.

Great stay

It’s old but clean & comfortable hotel. We got room on the 4th floor & we can see beautiful skyline of city from room. It’s great location. Shower knobs of temperature is old school & little tricky but I will definitely come back.

Oasis Hotel - a pleasant surprise

The lower price hotels in San Francisco often don't have air conditioning. The Oasis Hotel is one of those. Except for a few unseasonably hot days in September, it worked well and was a pleasant surprise from the low price hotels in the Tenderloin and SOMA areas. Room was completely clean and the staff was friendly and responsive.

Cheap, convenient location in SF

I have stayed at the Oasis several times over the last few years. It is a sparse, budget motel in a great location and has free parking. The building itself is old and in need of updating. Rooms are adequate. On my last visit, the desk lamp was not working, and the shower was dirty (long hairs sticking to the shower walls). However, the hotel is in an extremely convenient location and has free parking. On recent visits that has been a noticeable increase in the number of homeless people on the alley next to the hotel, who are often quite loud at night. If you are looking for a cheap place to sleep and park your care for the night, the Oasis is a good value.

Nice clean convenient room, with secure parking which is a Definite Plus. Guests are often noisy and rooms often smell like smoke but are easily aired out.

Good location, friendly staff, dirty room, outdated

Nice location, but just needs remodeling badly. Dirty carpets, cheesy room.

BED BUGS!

I stayed at the Oasis several times over the year. Read about bed bugs but never encountered the issued until my last stay. I discovered the bed bugs and told management. They told me there were no other rooms available and fully refunded me. Disappointed. Will never book there again. They lost a loyal customer.

Not bad

For the price, this hotel was fine. The walls are thin and my neighbors were loud. It is not a quiet location, but it was serviceable and I slept well.

Not a bad place to stay.

The location was very convenient to where I needed to go--the bus stop was a block away. I didn't feel unsafe at all. The place was nothing fancy but it was fine for me. I did have to leave the window open to keep it cool and comfortable. Although, if you are sensitive to noise, when I laid down on the bed, there was a slight buzzing like there's a generator below me. But I think it lulled me to sleep rather than keep me awake. And they gave me a late check-out (1:30) without extra fee.

Overbooked and kicked me out

If you overbooked your hotel, call me before I arrive at 11pm at night so I don't drive all the way there for nothing. I reserved a room weeks before but they kicked me and a bunch of others out to accommodate a big group who booked late. Total B.S.

Great rate and welcoming staff!

The Oasis Inn staff was very warm and welcoming. The accommodations were spartan but exceptionally clean. However, the inn was not located in a very good part of the city. Stay away from Eddy Street at night! I never could get the TV working. There was wifi available on the premises.

Great common areas, clean, comfortable.

I think this hotel recently underwent a remodel of the common areas. The rooms were fine, not gorgeous but for 85 a night they were clean and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was glorious and there were beautiful gardens on the property and the staff was very friendly.

Convenient, comfortable, and great staff

The hotel was conveniently located making it easy to get around with little or no driving. Since I drove up to San Francisco the free parking was very helpful, allowing me to park my car and leave it for the remainder of my trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which was much appreciated when there was a problem with my reservation (namely they didn't receive my reservation from Expedia). The room was comfortable and clean. The free wi-fi had a great signal, strong enough to stream Netflix.

Average with Archaic TV

Stay was average. Staff at front desk not too friendly. TV's are archaic- still analog with old connections.

Easy access to city , taxis fast average 10 to 15 $ . Good water pressure in showers. Coffee accessible one block away. Seems safe area in spite of homeless in alley. Price around 100$ night adequate.

Money hungry hotel!

Never had a change to stay. Weather conditions prohibited travel where business plans had to be canceled. Hotel would not credit my account despite knowing that there was poor traveling conditions in the SF area. Poor judgment on their part and they offer little amenities for a traveler!

Good location, but the room was extremely filthy.

Right when you enter the room, you can smell a musty smell that is very unpleasant. The mirrors were dirty as well as the carpet. What did it for us was the bed bugs that were crawling on the walls. This occurred in room 217. Luckily the manager sent us to a sister hotel for the same price, but this was a traumatizing experience due to the bed bug situation. Avoid this hotel like the plague.
