A perfect weekend in the entrance
Very nice hotel and perfect location for a weekend in the entrance -and what a view we had from our balcony. Room has everything you need everything works and was perfectly clean
Short stay
When I booked I had the option of a studio with no housekeeping which was cheaper I took the second option which was dearer expecting housekeeping would be included however on arrival there was no housekeeping and we were given 2 food vouchers value $10.As we were there for 3 nights this was a poor substitute. I feel this should be made clearer on the website that housekeeping is included.
The view was beautiful. Enjoyed coffee while watching the sun rise. The sliding door out to the balcony was broken when I got in. I wasn't able to lock it the first night. However it was repaired quickly when I reported it. Dryer had a broken door this was also reported. Otherwise it was an enjoyable stay
All good except that the room smelt of stale cigarette smoke - especially on the first night
Expect better for the price
Lounge was stained not 1 Bedroom apartment just a studio with the bed having sliding slatted walls around it, can’t see tv from bed only from lounge which was stained with I hate to say. Bad layout.
So after a ramshackle start to my stay were my booking did not exist to waiting well over an hour to get booked in even though I had confirmation on my phone To no tv channels a sometimes internet My first impression was not good But luckily Bill came on the next day and what an absolute champion of a manager he is There was no mucking around with Bill he straight away organised a room transfer and a fantastic room it was The oaks are lucky to have this guy working for them I would have well and truely bagged this place out if it wasn’t for Bill I would now recommend you stay at the oaks entrance and book it through Bill
We hadn’t been to the entrance for a while the suburb is looking run down shops shut. Not sure we would go again hotel was good though
Meantime restaurant has excellent service & food with cheap beer.
Great location
Friendly service,excellent communication
Getaway
Quick little getaway. Comfy bed room had all we needed. Restaurants, cafes and shops all walking distance. Across the road from the water. Great views. A bit more active on weekends.
Check-in was very easy. The lady on Reception, Tasa, is very nice and knowledgeable. Accommodation is very good, clean, comfortable bed. The WatersEdge Restaurant is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very good live music right next door @ the hotel. The only downside is having to pay $20 per night for on-site parking. Have stayed there three times & enjoyed it.
Wonderful coastal view at The Entrance
We had lovely 3 night stay ( same time as last year) but few negatives - terrible internet - very disappointing - very hard to watch Foxtel (which they provide!) Oaks need to upgrade so patrons can actually watch a movie !!!! Pool also in need of tile repair ( was in same condition as last year) But we love the location, view fantastic, staff great, friendly & helpful - we hope to get back
Very happy with this property. Would recommend for a nice quite stay
really central and overall great .but i thought i had booked a room at the front overlooking the waterways .instead looked over pool at the back with a different waterview
Great views across the lake to the ocean from the balcony. Room was perfect.
Excellent check in quick communication was good friendly service
Loved the balcony waterfront views, location and secure parking and lift. We didnt like the broken chairs around pool, missing and broken tiles in pool, only one big luggage trolley, housekeeping services not provided and a broken motel phone in room.
AAA Perfection in every manner of stay. Highly rate this property.
Great location & comfy accom
Very stay & very comfortable - although hotel showing its age a bit (esp the pool): terrific location and I would certainly stay there again for a 2-3 day break. Loved the king bed. Super clean & comfortable.
It was clean and the room had everything for our stay. The pool was good. Good access to free parking. So many restaurants on walking distance. Didn't like the bus stop and so many busses in the morning, a bit annoyed. Overall, the stay was enjoyable 😊
Parking
Overall it was excellent but disappointed that parking was an extra $20 a night on an already expensive room
Had lovely view but it’s time for a renavation
Clean and comfortable nice pool
Good size room with good views. Looking a bit tired . For the price it would be nice to be given a biscuit with the tea and coffee
Weekend getaway.
Great location. Waterviews. One bedroom apartment. Comfortable and spacious enough for two people. Would stay again.
Stayed at the oaks studio - light switch broken - air conditioning broken - spiders everywhere in the unit - needed a blanket they asked for $100 fee which is ridiculous - the key to enter the unit had to be changed twice and locked out of our unit -would never stay again -bad service
Room was terrible. Fridge wasn't working, Stove top wasn't working, Light in bedroom was burnt out and they didn't come to fix it until the next day.
The staff very helpful. He is aa asset in that hotel his name is Bill. Good place to stay.
Amazing hotel thats the only place me and mh kids ever stay at!!!!
the money we paid for this hotel we were very unimpressed with the room we stayed in, the hallway smelt like off food everytime we walked out of our room. The room was in bad condition when we arrived and were very disappointed with our stay
Very good
Best hotel and amazing staff!!!
It's a great place for the kid's and families, water front fishing so you don't have to go far, takeaway shops are right there walking distances.
The room , and the bed size were so good and the view was amazing
The dishwasher was not working, and when we informed the receptionist, he was rude and unhelpful. He claimed nothing could be done about it, handed us dishwashing liquid, and instructed us to wash the dishes ourselves.
The property was over priced. It is old and dated. However this would not have been an issue if it was clean, it was not. Smelly frozen fish smell in the freezer, which I cleaned, dirty carpet, curtains and lounge. There was no chance staff were going to fix the issue. They all need replacing. I cleaned the place myself because no staff available after late afternoon except reception. There was an awful smell under the sink and in the cupboards which I cleaned myself, but could not get rid of. Not worth the money. I checked out 2 days early because I could not stand the smell. Would not recommend. The only plus - reception staff were pleasant to deal with and tried. But the issues were never going to be fixed just by cleaning. The facilities in the hotel are also dated and not clean enough for the amount of money charged and the rating it receives.
The hotel was good however the guests ran the hotel and the staff did not consider the other guests. I am sure the rooms had more than the required accupancy. The guests used their portable BBQ in the pool area and the children were in the pool eating their lunch. I moved away and sat in the spa for peace & quiet the next minute 6 kids came and were jumping in the spa. I am sure the smoke alarm went of twice (once around midnight) because the guests used their portable BBQ in the balcony. After we went back to the room after we got the all clear from the fire brigade the guests decided to play music very loud (after midnight) I regret paying more money to stay at a more expensive hotel believing that I would have a good night sleep. I would have been better off staying somewhere much cheaper. I know these guests & their family book out staying at this hotel and probably are return guests however this also means that you are losing the rating of your hotel because you are not considering other guests
Beautiful view and location by water edge
Spacious rooms. Friendly staff
A great place to stay at The Entrance. We always love coming here for a break away.
The Oaks was a great hotel for our families getaway, clean and comfortable rooms , pool and spa were fun and ideal location for fishing and dining
The swimming pool is in poor condition and requires repairs.
It was a perfect spot for a little getaway
The property was quite dated. Tbh you're paying only for the views.
Room was ok but quite dated and a bit gritty in some aspects (Eg couch had many marks on it and cigarette burns on carpet). Great water views. Bed and shower great. Room included washer and dryer which was handy. Parked at the free council car park opposite the hotel reception. Don’t pay for the hotel parking if you can help it. TV didn’t work initially so someone at the desk fixed it, but once it was turned off it stopped working again - which was quite annoying. Only one person at the front desk all the time we were there.
Location is good picked this place because it had a spa on site. But the spa was not working. Staff did apologise but that was it. Don’t think we will stay here again
The 1st room we were given was noisy and had to be asked to move. The rooms are aged with shower in bathtub. No parking available in the area for 2.6m high van.
Close to everything
Location, safe, quiet & the heated pool were the main reasons I stay here.
A fantastic location with great views. It was a bit cool to swim in the pool and spa was not heated so was disappointed I couldn’t use either pool or spa
The Entrance area around the hotel is becoming very run down and not pleasant
We have stayed many times, everything is so close ie pubs, restaurants etc....once you arrive you never have to use your car until you leave....our sort of holiday 👍
We had a great visit. Tasa, in reception, helped make it a great visit, as it was my husbands bday and she gave him a bottle of wine and called us as soon as the room was ready. Always great when you start your time away with a welcoming person in reception.
This resort was nice but outdated. Definitely not much communication on whether ypubare supposed to have house housekeeping but over all worth the price.
Very nice part of nsw. The location is 10/10
A great place we keep coing back for our wedding anniversary
Always enjoy staying at the Oaks The Entrance.
Close to everything you need. Beautiful view.
A great property for a get away. We go here often and love it.
Need a lot of Maintenace this is the third time we stayed here, and the GYM is not working shut down the 2nd lift not working the fly screen door to our outdoor are very hard to open the Curtin had big marks on them the cleaner should have picked this up, and last the stove it takes almost half hour just to cook anything not hot enough over all was ok but will think twice for next time
The area nice
Always love visiting Oaks The Entrance. Staff are pleasant, the rooms are clean and very comfortable. A great destination for a short break away.
i like Oaks, we always enjoy the stay, also they gave my husband a bottle of wine when they know it is his birthday and this is really great
Location in the heart of the town, close to dining and shops.
It was neat and clean! The bed was not great!
WE HAD A WONDERFULL STAY THANKS
Paid for ocean view room but was given an oceanview room with 1/2 metre tall bathtub shower combo that as an 74 year old mobility challenged couldn’t use then the only option given was a mouldy 20 steep stair loft apartment that had rain water pouring onto the carpet and drenching the curtains Went to relax but was totally stressed out will never return not worth price I paid Staff are very good but handicapped by individual owners of rooms
Above expectations
I’m sure this property is much more expensive in the warmer months but my stay was amazing value for money.
Top spot, great water views..
Nice and clean but some areas was under construction
Not what i paid for. No wifi. Dirty. Terrible customer service
Very clean, great location. Would definitely recommend
Good property, clean, well presented, friendly staff.
We were in a loft. It was very spacious with a great view of the lake.
Close to where my son lives so had a sleep over with my granddaughter❣️❣️
Not worth the money
Very uncomfortable bed , filthy cockroaches in the bathroom , fire alarms going off early in the morning , not worth the money Horrible shower in the bath tub that is quite dangerous to get in and out of
This apartment is is a great location with lovely views. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The building and apartment are very tired, and need a good facelift. Paint was in poor condition, carpets worn and frayed. The wall in the bedroom is pained in a dark colour, and when the lamp lite the wall, it had a thick layer of dust on it. The apartment had an over powering damp smell. It was comfortable (apart from the smell) and functional, just not pretty.
Reasonable hotel
The dryer didn’t work but they fixed it. Gym was closed which wasn’t notified till I went to go there. Bed was uncomfortable. Overall it was clean and service was good
Absolute fantastic hotel really enjoyed our stay we will definitely be back the staff are all so friendly as well only complaint is the carpark it's so narrow and hard to get in and out
Loved the view from our room and the cleanliness but the rooms are a little dated
I can't fault the property or staff, but our TV didn't work at all, staff tried to get it working but gave up. That was disappointing.
Could be better
Bad customer service. Faulty dryer in room
My daughters and I really enjoyed the time we spent at The Oaks. Staff were friendly. Location is perfect. Walking distance to great food venues, playground & water park for kids to play was right outside the doors, great views, kids had a lot of fun in the pool. There’s a great walking pathway. Fishing spot just down the path. We’ll definitely be back! 💖
Great location with views of the lake. Staff were friendly and eager to please.
I have stayed at the Oaks the Entrance for over 30 years off and on, at least 6 or 7 times per year, weve gone through their upgrades and renovations at vareous times, we cannot find fault with them, we love going there, and yesterday i received a complimentory bottle of wine with some cheese and crackers..first time ever which was a great surprise for me..thank you to the staff at the Oaks the Entance...
Fabulous location within walking distance of restaurants and shopping Only disappointment is shower/bath arrangement .. very difficult for older people to climb into bath
Urgent need of a renovation
Comfy bed. Clean room. Good deep bath tub. Close to good pub with music. Great breakfast nearby.
Room decor was a bit tired, no daily servicing and insufficient cleaning materials to cover the stay Nice location on the waterfront
We were lucky to be able to stay in a newly renovated room. It was lovely. Spacious and well appointed. We stayed a second night in a standard room - what a difference! But this hotel is one to keep on the radar for when all the refurbishments are done.
Absolutely fantastic customer care and support.
Great atmosphere
Great 4 night stay
Wonderful 4 night stay - didn’t realise we had to pay for parking at hotel ( did not want to leave in public parking across road) great location for kayaking on lake/river out front of hotel - and so close to eateries 👍
Over all stay was ok. Place definitely needs some maintenance. Loved the location and that it was so close to everything.
Wonderful greeting and informative staff member on where to dine
Great shower pressure in 1980s retro feeling apartment. Unfortunate that our view was a dirty rooftop of the shop and living beside us. Bedroom area was good.loged the sliding doors. Check in was a lengthy process only one person on front desk and 4 people waiting. Parked in council cark park as Oaks carpark was additional $20. The stay was comfortable.
The hotel needs some maintenance it's a bit worn out, especially around the pool!
Recommend this hotel I will be returning soon Excellent

We found black hairs on the bed, eyelashes in the bathroom and a overall general uncleansiness throughout the apartment. Stains on the pillows and mould forming on the curtains. It left for an unpleasant stay
