Was here for a business Trip, done for my needs
Balconies are not big enough to sit out, no table and chairs, only standing room! Rooms are advertised with a double sofa bed, all rooms only have a single sofa bed. Beds very uncomfortable, lumpy pillows, bed sheets not changed all week. Gym is very basic. When I requested some teabags for the room I was told I would have to pay 80 dirhams as it was breakfast tea and only fruit teas were free. No milk also provided. Toaster at breakfast broken, food was not replenished. Not up to four star standard.
I have been coming and going from Marrakech more than 30 times now and have never been so disappointed ! The customer service at reception was absolutely atrocious ! The lady at front desk just disregarded a few of us like we were from the jungle. Arrived early cool so no problem waiting until 3pm but people were arriving after me and being checked in ? She just kept on asking me to sit and wait there’s loads of people here I said that’s fine but they have not been here before me ? Straight disregard ! Wow then to top it off the room was terrible . No air conditioning in the room it looked mad tidy the room needs crazy upgrading ! Room 303 by the way the fridge was not working I mean wow I’ve never put a review but this just had to be done ! Breakfast was complete rubbish compared to most of the other hotels in line with Novotel ! Please avoid this hotel at all costs ! It is just not worth giving them you’re hard earned money !
Staff service was exceptional. Especially receptionist Imane. Location is very good, very central. Can walk to Menara mall and walk over to old town too. Across the road there is a taxi rank and horse carriages station.
Poorly maintained. Non-existent shower but enough to flood the bathroom and room due to missing trim. Noisy from streets. Air conditioning didn't work. Staff not very helpful.
Excellent
They had zero air conditioning even though it was really hot. We had to sleep with the windows and doors open and it was really noisy outside!
Despite Fitness center being listed in the hotel services, there is no such. There is a room with no equipment.
Staff at the restaurant were outstanding!
The staff at the hotel were all excellent and helpful, from the reception to the restaurant, poolside and the cleaning crew. I would say the decor is a bit tired, there needs to be more staff on reception at check in time as there only ever seems to be one. I had to queue for 30 mins which after a long and delayed journey was not a great experience. Also there was a planned power outage one day of the stay, it appears there were signs up mentioning this however they were in French which I don’t speak. It would have been helpful to have been notified in another way so we could have planned around it.
Hotel office is getting renovated
An enjoyable and relaxing stay in Marrakesh.
The hotel was very well located in the city and was within reasonable walking distance of all the locations I wanted to visit in the city. It was also 10 minutes from the airport and Gare de Marrakesh train station. The hotel was very nice and the room accommodated was lovely, comfortable and spacious. The breakfasts provided by the hotel were lovely with a wide variety of options. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned very day and 2 bottles of water provided each day along with coffee, tea and toiletries. The hotel has a very small gym (cardio equipment) and a large relaxing pool area. If I was returning to Marrakesh I would stay at the hotel again. Thank you.
I don’t recommend this hotel. This is really overvalued and the staff is terrible.
I really nice place. I will recommend this friendly place for anyone going to Marrakech. Very helpful welcome staff
Not a great stay, hotel needs a refresh
Our room was dated and tired. The shower leaked all over the floor with every use and the room smelt the whole time we were there - really fishy, which we think was glue. Everything in the room has been repaired and not well! The bed was very hard. The robes were old, faded and worn out, as were the towels. The TV was good! The pool area was nice and the breakfast was good. But the worst thing was the staff, they were all rude and unfriendly and very unhelpful. They were also really slow, the reception staff were the worst. Just made us feel unwelcome
There is no parking, only 10 spaces available, reception staff are not helpful, restaurant staff are good, breakfast is not good and not up to Novotel standard, there is no privacy in using the bathrooms, there are no tables next to the beds, towels are old and worn out, and the beds are old and uncomfortable.
Environment
Everything was great
Very good location. Good facilities. Recommended.
Good place to stay
The location in Hivernage is very good with easy access to both the Medina and Gueliz. The room was clean and spacious and the service excellent, the team made me feel super welcome from the security at the entrance to the front desk, the bar and the restaurant.
Watch out for scam taxi service
While the hotel was very nice, we were very disappointed with the transportation service they arranged for us . We requested transport to the airport very early (3:45 am) the next day. The receptionist told us it could be arranged but had to be paid in cash (approx $25). We paid, but no receipt was offered. Our cab was ready at the appointed time and took us to the airport as requested, but the driver said he had not been paid and insisted on another $25. After a brief discussion, We gave him all the Moroccan money we had and added another $7 to make up the difference. I’m not sure who benefitted from this scam, but future travelers should insist on a receipt or some kind of voucher if they plan to use this service.
Amazing place at the right price
Great location Great hotel
The place is a dump!!. A/C not working in the room. Not worthy of the brand the hotel belongs too,
Helpful staff. Rooms clean and practical. Hotel facilities are very good
4.1/5 from me. Good, standard business style hotel. Rooms are quite large. Separate toilet and bathroom. In the bathroom, I had a bath and a separate shower. Pool area is nice with comfortable seating and shade. Location is great near lots of lounges, clubs and restaurants. Fast Wi-Fi. Very good room service and everything can be ordered from the restaurant. Comfortable bed. Negatives: no chairs on the balcony and room a little like an office with grey carpet and furniture, etc. Recommended.
Great location, wonderful staff
The staff at this hotel were wonderful and really added to the experience of staying there. Reception staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help. The hotel's location is brilliant for exploring the city and many attractions are within easy walking distance. There are also many decent restaurants close by. The rooms at the hotel are a good size and have a degree of comfort but are extremely dated and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower and hot water was plentiful. The bed was very comfortable, there were only two pillows however and both were in need of replacement. There was a kettle and microwave in the room and teabags and sachets of coffee were provided but no creamer which I found strange. The gym was spacious but has no fixed or free weights and the cross trainer is in need of repair. The pool area was very clean and had plenty of furniture for guests to use and this included parasols. The pool bar was very clean and there was a good selection of drinks and a decent lunchtime menu. Breakfast was buffet style and available from 7am. There was a huge range of choice and of a high quality. I really enjoyed my stay and the hotel provided value for money.
The hotel is old and needs some serious renovation.
Clean, and nice Staff
Very good experience
Very good experience. Staff was very friendly and was always available to resolve any issues. Cleaning staff did a good job however at times needed a reminder. Breakfast was good but could improve by having more variety of fruits and children friendly items. Overall very good experience and highly recommended.
November 2022
Novotel 4 star is in a good location in the heart of the upmarket area nice restaurant and a 10-15min walk to the market, other hotels in this area are a lot more expensive. Rooms are ok good size with daily house keeping there was no milk with the tea and coffee station. Breakfast nothing too special service is slow and the omelette station is not always up and running. Reception ( Iesha was very helpful booked restaurants etc for us) other Hotel staff are very good and helpful, for the price your paying in this location it’s good value.
Worst experience
Great
Correct
+ Chambre spacieuse - petit déjeuner très sommaire
We arrived and were denied access using Expedia booking for reasons that we arrived after midnight although we made our booking after midnight. It was very much disappointing from Expedia thatI was charged all the fees.
Worth a stay
Great value for money
Staff very friendly, polite and helpful. Location is good
The location was great and some of the staff were as well. But the place is run down and dirty Worn / stained furniture Broken lamp Dirty carpet Dirty bathroom and scummy tiles Next time I’ll be staying at Sofitel or a Riad
Even though it looks modern and grand hotel, rooms were not of good quality, some of the rooms we got had curtains not properly hanged, other did not proper curtains at all. There were other items (tables and tiles in the bathroom that looked worn and broken (they were repaired but poorly)
Would stay again. Once pool is sorted.
Comfy and great location. The hotel pool was being renovated which meant it was useless and took away the relaxing element of staying there. They did offer me to use their sister hotel pool but it’s was a short walk away. I would stay here again. The breakfast was good and the hotel is really arty to stay at. The room is big and comfy bed. I would suggest you stay in pool view room to avoid noise from nearby clubs / bars and cars late at night. I would stay here again. The staff are helpful.
localization and clean very good buffet breakfast
Marrakesh business trip
I've used this hotel twice now for short business trips. it's well located a short walk away from the old city and close to the airport a short cab ride away. Pool is good. staff are friendly and attentive and the restaurant has a nice choice of food and drinks - some other reviews moan about standard of rooms and hotel - i found everything to be of a good standard and will stay again.
At check in we felt bad sleeping in that room. Carpet was stained all over and felt gross. Room was warm, ac vent away from the vent by the front door, amenities was only shampoo and soap. At check out we had to request for a receipt and it eas a big issue
Poor room design--no bedside table and couldn't easily reach the curtains as TV in the way. Duvet old and filling extremely lumpy with patches with no filling at all-it should have been thrown out long ago. Air-con ineffective. Service offhand. Drinks in restaurant took ages to arrive. At breakfast I asked where the hot water for tea was.The guy just pointed vaguely leaving me to work out that it was a kettle on the end of the bar that I had to switch on and boil up myself. Food however was good and nicely presented.
Great location; good breakfast; VERY friendly staff
Ok hotel in a pricey neighborhood.
We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of April. The area around the hotel is great and only 15-20 mins walk to the medina. The hotel lobby-bar-restaurant area is pretty nice. Pool area is ok but could be cleaner. Room was clean. It's a nice 3.5 star hotel at the right price. Bartender Yassine was very friendly and effective.
Great stay
Was a great standard, nice and clean
Great room great location to walk to the medina or quick taxi to attractions
Nice hotel
Nice hotel but the breakfast is the same everyday. No variety
Good hotel great location.
great staff but I found the bed too hard, but I think this is common for North Africa. Room was large and clean. Close to main square and a nice, albeit small, pool with sun loungers and shade at the rear of the hotel. Probably not the best hotel in the area but was good value for money and I would stay there again.
Needs someone to fix stuff
The water was not hot enough for a bath. The light in the showere did not work. The toilet paper holder was broken.
Needs updating
Room old but comfortable. Front desk was slow and willing to make me and others wait for no good reason. Even though all was prepaid they still wanted to waste time just one more time.
Very disappointing, very dated.
The hotel is very dated, staff does not understand english, housekeeping are not bothered and do not help to resolve any problems. There was no soap, asked three times, then gave up and bought it. Number of lights not working, were not looked into after 5 day and about 6 reminders.
Good location.rest is very average
Nice location but the rest is very average..breakfast very cheap..spoons and the reste are not clean..u got the floor reception and the manager lady joining at 9.30 using there hands esting breakfast..i had somebody nockong at 9pm at the room to ask ne to pay the 2 pounds tax..that could have wait till tomorrow..anyway over all..its very average 2 out 5
Excellent in every way. Weather , service and stay!
Carpet fraught with stains. Room service response
Not good ( not clean and poor service. Nobody at reception)
All right hotel You need taxi to go nearest shops
All the sinks are block one of the waiter charge me 25 dirham for The bottel of water No door lock in the bathroom and the toilet only few people staff speak English or understand
A reasonable hotel.
The hotel was nice however the shower was blocked and I asked many times to unblock it but it was never sorted out. Had to use the bathtub. When I checked in there was half uses toiletries. There was no parking as every time I asked they said parking is full. So had to park on the street. They charge 20 MAD to park then another 20 to 30 MAD to leave. So I was not happy with this.
A lower cost option in a nice area
Everything about the hotel is chic and modern so it will appeal more to some people than others. Our room was unique in our experience. The WC was smaller than in an airplane but at least had a sink for hand washing. We liked the sitting area and table. The room is non-smoking but there is an ashtray in the hallway so if you are sensitive to smoke, walking to and from the room will bother you. The staff were all pleasant, but in the restaurant it sometimes took a couple of tries to get what we wanted. The garden area is a very nice place to sit in the evening for a meal - attractive and well designed.
Would stay again.
Stayed for four nights, nice hotel in brilliant area. Cleaners were very friendly and efficient. Pool staff were great - particularly Cemo and Mustafa! Good experience all round.
Nice central location of hotel
The hotel has a central location in the city and is a few minutes walk from the old city centre and from the never areas of the city. The hotel is just moderately comfortable and the room is not very modern. The facilities are just manageable. The swimming pool is the centre of attraction for this hotel. Breakfast is also moderately served but honestly the hotel staff other then AICHA at the reception look quite lazy. Having said all that the hotel is not a place I would not go back to or recommend to others and also i would tell travellers to not have very high hopes.
Worst Stay in my life
Amazing staff and location
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! It's in one of the best locations. Walking distance to local shopping centre. Definitely one of the best customer service experience I have received.
Novotel influenced by Ibis
This Novotel should change its name to Ibis as they share several ressemblances of lack OF confort in the best, tiny bathrooms, dirty cheep carpets, and the terrible smell of mix of cigarettes and something else
Very good location
Great hotel, lovely staff & location. Stayed for 4 nights while visiting friends, lovely pool area & bar too
Declining standards
This is the 4th time I have stayed at this hotel when visiting Marrakech. Substantial differences from last visit - name change from Ups: 1. Carpet in the room - last time lino Downs- 1. Breakfast is now charged - around 8.50 per person, kids aren't free. Disappointing as free breakfast previously was not amazing but new breakfast has more items but much the same quality. If staying would recommend going to table du marche restaurant in neighbouring hotel for breakfast - cheaper and better quality. 2. Used to have free movies on television - fairly decent selection with quite a few movies to keep the kids entertained. Tried to access the three or four movies available but informed that they were pay per view. Otherwise hotel is much the same - good room sizes, fridge and microwave in room.
Very bad experience. Far from city centre
1. Staff very rude 2. They charge me for complementary water bottle. 3. They charge me twice for city tax. When I remind them they say sorry. 4. Without bell , or knocking room service wanted to enter my room 5. Food costly and away from city centre or Resturant area.
Lovely hotel , wonderful staff
First time I'm go to Marrakech is lovey place for relax , and hotel same , pool , bar , accommodation, everything is 5 star !! Congratulations for staff and management from hotel ! Kind Regards Paulo
Nice location
The hotel is a little outside the medina in the new town, but is close enough to walk and felt very safe. The hotel is decent but the beds aren't great and the doors to the shower do not provide full privacy. The staff were extremely friendly but we found it very difficult to get towels for the pool as no one ever seemed to be around.
Nice Hotel close to main square
Nice hotel except the toilet kept running and did not flush. Had to get maintenance 4 times during our 7 night stay. We had twin beds. 1 bed was extremely uncomfortable and one of us ended up sleeping on the sofa. The room layout a bit strange. Toilet was on one end of the room and the shower and bath on the other end.
Good location, terrible management.
This site limits how long reviews can be, but some of the problems we encountered: They initially gave us a room with a completely obstructed view of the swimming pool. We had to complain to get them to move us which is not what I'd expect considering we had paid extra for a pool side view. The listing mentioned a Nespresso machine in the room which was not included and after asking, staff still refused to provide one. Staff did not restock toilet paper in the bathrooms around the swimming pool area. You had to bring your own or you'd be out of luck. Staff were allowed to bring friends and family to the swimming pool who then proceeded to play obnoxiously loud music through portable speakers and even after several complaints, staff are hesitant to confront and discourage such behaviour. Hotel staff were also very complacent and said nothing about a woman who was throwing cigarette butts on the floor instead of the ashtray literally next to her in the swimming pool area. She was chain smoking mind you so we're talking more than 10 cigarette butts. Slow service around the swimming pool. Loads of staff members around but they are slow to respond, bring menus, etc. That said, I'm positive Novotel will copy paste their bog standard response underneath this review and call it a day. However, it is up to you fellow holidaymaker to decide whether this description sounds like a four star hotel to you and a place where you'd like to spend a few days.
Very nice hotel and good location . I think the down side is the food they serve is terrible and expensive. And air con is not that cold . Other wise all good
Close to main square and souks
Stuff were very friendly and helpful. Pool facilities good for all family and shaded surrounds
Very good
Located in a very nice area of Marrakech with plenty to do. The location is very high end and the local square a about 20 min walk away. The only problem is that there are not many food places close to the hotel
Not friendly hotel stayed in other Novotel much better
Novotel hotel hivernage
Lovely hotel friendly staff me and my family enjoyed our stay, close to the medina square, pool area very clean would definitely recommend to family single or couples..would definitely goe back to this hotel again
Comfortable 4-Star Hotel
Beautiful property located just a 15-minute walk from the D'jamma El-Fna markets. Very safe location in the upscale part of Marrakesh. The hotel rooms were well designed and comfortable, but the carpeting and fixtures were very poor (some apppeared to be breaking). The bedding and balcony, however, were very enjoyable. Overall a very nice place to stay while in Marrakesh. I would recommend this property!
Quiet hotel - good value for money
It was a pleasant stay overall. The room was large enough, however it hasn't been renovated for a good while - you can see some broken tiles in the shower, dark spots on the carpet. When we got the bed linen changed, the duvet cover had little holes in it and some signs of hard wear... The pool was nice, with almost no people. Wifi is free, not the greatest speed/coverage but enough for social media/emails.
The hotel itself was nice but housekeeping wouldn't restock basics such as tea and coffee or shampoo without you having to ask them twice a day. The room cards never worked so we had to change them every day which was a nuisance. The location is fantastic very close to all the attractions, I would recommend this hotel only for its great location and ease of getting around.
Not Up to Novatel Standards
As some of the other reviews said, this hotel did not live up to Novatel standards. Breakfast was disgusting. The room was only ok. Light in the toilet didn't work, tv didn't work, air conditioning didn't work. Staff was rude. Pool is ok but the service at the pool is horrible. Staff doesn't wear uniforms, just there everyday street clothes so sometimes it's hard to tell who is working there. On a positive note, the international worked great which can be rare @ hotels in Marrakech and since I was there on business, this was important to me. The neighborhood is fantastic and the price is right. I would probably stay here again for these reasons.
Excellent location
Check in staff was not welcoming but rest of staff was very friendly over all. Very spacious room, with very good location. The balcony was not child friendly. Even though stayed there for three nights but could not get the Hotel parking slot. comfortable stay comparing to a Riad in down town Madinah. Breakfast was quite bland. ....................................................................................................
AVOID MARRAKECH !!!! TERRIBLE PLACE !!!!!
Novotel Marrakech does not have the standards of a Novotel brand and is marred by very unprofessional Moroccan attitudes of customer service. Several wall sockets broken in the room and room bulbs fused despite complaints but all in vain. Breakfast service is absolutely pathetic and chaotic with not much choice. Cleaning needs to be a lot more thorough as a few guests we met contracted stomach bug after eating at the hotel. Morocco is a filthy country full of cheats and crooked people.
Awesome location but Rubbish service
Best location for Marrakech however whilst the rooms are dated the staff are beyond useless
Very good
Excellent stay
Good location
Great location, close to everything. The only suggestion would be is to to have more English speaking staff. Overall a good stay.
family holiday
we stayed for 7 nights. It was very noisy and busy in the public areas on the first day which was saturday. The rest of the stay was better; quiet and relaxing. We had view of the mosque. Breakfast was the same every day. Croissant/pain au chocolat/bread with some local options. Dates/melon/watermelon. yoghurts, cornflakes and cocopops. There was toaster and breakfast tea/earl grey.couple of cold meats. It was very hot in the room as the air conditioning wasn't working. As other reviewers have mentioned location is great. We changed some currency at the airport and near the hotel both rates were similar. There is a carrefour within walking distance. There is a small fridge in the room but no freezer. There is microwave which we didn't use. No crockeries or cutleries. Only soap dispenser in the bathroom. Toilet is separate but dispenser was broken.
Great marrakech hotel location and hospitality
Stayed 3 days at this hotel. Great staff and great service. Will definitely recommend.
Bad hotel management
I was on holiday with my wife and 2 kids. The rooms are small, the bathroom would not drain for days,:air conditioning not working properly. Too many bees when you have breakfast in the morning by the pool. Total nightmare and very bad customer service.
Room hot, A/c not working at all for 2 nights of our stay.
Staff was told several times about the air conditioning not working, but, did not repair it. I asked for electric fan, but, was told they don't have one. The temperature inside the room was more than 90 degrees fahrenheit & was not able to sleep well for the last 2 nights. I do not recommend this hotel This is the worst Novotel we've ever stayed. During our stay in Marakesh, outside temp. is very hot &can't be tolerated.
MARRAKECH SUITE NOVOTEL
Stayed for 4 nights, hotel is perfect, walking distant from clubs markets/ new town , highly recommended, it's cheap but very good at least was for me.. Friendly staff Downside, Just loads of Beas /wasps near poo and the costly bar LOL
Not very good
Hotel is not so great because of the following reasons: => Room was not ready => No washing soup => Beds was not ready => Breakfast was not very good
Amazing Hotel - Modern, lovely pool,
Staff lovely Room modern and comfortable AC was a problem one whole night and it was VERY HOT and hotel has said that they will provide compensation. Still waiting
Nice hotel close to the market
I love my stay and my kids likes the swimming pool
Nice functional hotel, close to the sights.
Where to start. As people say, checking in process was a bit slow. Main grind would be that the person dealing with the process was constantly taking calls, those in front of the desk were lower priority. Once we were allocated room, all was good. Rooms are as described, very well designed in terms of space but a bit dated now. Very good that they have separate shower, bath tub and a separate toilet, so 2 people can use the facilities with privacy. Also had 3 beds, plus a sofa bed, and a large table. Finally a microwave and fridge were also very useful. TV system did not function in our original room, but once we complained, we were given a new room the next morning. Location is just outside the medina walled area, in Hermitage, which is a pleasant area to stay. Some restaurants very close by, as well as a Pizza Hut and Mcdonalds about 10 mins walk away. A Carrrefour supermarket is also about 8 mins walk away. Pool was not bad, better than i expected, given reviews from before. They now do provide pool towels and whilst not very big or deep, generally a good size and never got very busy. Wifi reception by pool area was good. Breakfast was mainly continental, although there was some items such as crepes and boiled eggs on offer. No real hot food, but plenty of choice. Cereals so so, did not like the taste of the milk. Juices, yogurts and plenty of croissants on offer, all replenished regularly. Also fresh bread, and coffee machine.
Great hotel & service
Some construction going on, but everything else was good.
Suite Novotel stay
The hotel is in a very good location quite close to the main square. The breakfast was of good standard and all staff were very welcoming. Special mention to Mohammed Semo, the lifeguard. He was very attentive and accommodating ,making our visit at the pool side very comfortable. I would definetly recommend this hotel to people with families as its very accommodating and has great facilities. The room sizes are exceptional.
very slow at reception they need more than one person avaikable at busdy times
Nice simple hotel
Good location in between central Marrakech market square (the souks) and Gelisse the posh part. Its about 20 mins walk to the square. It has a small pool a few cardio machines in the gym. Breakfast is traditional continental but very basic. It's opposite Sofitel where you can access their pools and facilities for 300 dh per person. Ideal for young lads but for families with little children/babies I would go elsewhere. Overall value for money it's good.
Practical and Convenient
Near to both Medina and Ville Nouvelle. City tour bus (recommended, 24 hours is enough), stops right in front of the hotel. Very family friendly, so this place is crawling with kids. Building dares from 2009, but is already showing signs of age:laminate wall peeling, laminate counter warping, stains on carpet. Did like the room's organization, especially the separate toilet with a small sink. Hotel laundry costs a fortune, but there a dedicated clothes line over the bath tub, so you can do your own. Wifi is iffy throughout the hotel. Don't give up, just find a place in your room where you get 3 bars and work there. Great stay overall!

Poor experience with reservation
Unfortunately after paying well in advance upon my arrival one day later than my check in date I was told I had no reservation with them that I should go to hotels.com and ask them what happened. This is despite the fact that I self checked in via the mail and prepaid in full for 5 nights. Emails sent to them and hotels.com have remained unanswered.
