Such a nice stay! We will be back!
Don’t stay here!!!
Let’s star here price is extremely high $303 CAN with (dog charges) compared to the dirtiest in the room , I don’t mind paying prices highest us longs us the hotels are what we see in the pictures ,which was extremely ripe off , I don’t know if is because i have a dog ,like they have punishment room when you do , because that room was the most traumatic hotel ever looks out of a horror movie disgusting, the bathroom we could have not take a shower that night , after 10 hours drive because the bathroom was awful extremely dirty , hotttttt you can even regulate the temperature in your room , we wake up every 2 hours dying of hotness, the next morning we decide to leave even know we have 2 nights reservation because of everything we saw on the internet about the local are but unfortunately they ruined our time vacation in the area if you are going to travel there at least dont go in the pets room unfortunately they don’t cleaned and on top of the awful night if you want to eat breakfast you have to pay $22.99 for person ….. what make the next morning a beautiful day was the people in the double GG lodge, if you are visiting the area definitely you need to go eat ITS THE BEST BREAKFAST EVER in my life and they have a motel next to the restaurant and it’s beautiful. People don’t fall for what you see in the internet….
Great Place and View
This was a beautiful place to stay. Very comfortable. The staff was great and the view was spectacular. I will definitely stay here again. It was an overnight stay to continue on my journey.
Not many lodging options out in this area. Nice comfortable and clean hotel.
Wonderful location, and great views of the mountains and lake.
It is a lovely, gorgeous gem nestled in the mountains.
Surprised and disappointed there was no coffee in the room. Disappointed only a 25$ option for breakfast. Very expensive dinner but did not feel the value was there. That being said our waitress was excellent.
Was just expensive for the quality of the accommodations and food; however there is nothing else in the area. The set dinner was not worth the money. Order off the to go menu
A gem in the Canadian Rockies!
A very good place to stay to break up some long driving days.
Beautiful lodge in the mountains and next to Muncho Lake! Room was small but darling; cabins are also available. Complimentary coffee and tea and ice 7am-11 pm. Nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner (too expensive for us) and takeout lunch! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Glad we stayed for the experience of a classy mountain lodge. Tour planes available and fun to see them land/take off the lake.
Our room was beautiful, as well as the rest of the lodge. The staff was very approachable. I don't remember the last time I ate such a delicious breakfast 👍😁
Very beautiful property with a fantastic staff
Picturesque location along Alaska Highway with wide range of room options and inhouse dining options. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
.
The property was breathtaking. We stayed in the lodge which was very nice, however, the rooms were very hot and stuffy no fans or air conditioning thank fully it did cool off at night. If you want to eat in the dinning room you have to make a reservation, the menu offers 3/3course options for a price of $71 per person, to which we were served packaged mash potatoes and a frozen over cooked pork cutlet. Overall the experience was pretty good and I would definitely stay here again.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Take-out food was fantastic!
Unique, beautiful setting. We sat in adirondack chairs lake side and watched a family of loons. There was also a very talented person playing guitar (& sometimes singing quietly)at one of the picnic tables behind us. It was heaven.
Was an amazing place to stay only downfall it was 30 degree outside and no air conditioning in rooms so rooms didn’t cool off till midnight but nothing major
It was stupendous! It was worth the drive, and the staff was top notch.
This is a nice property on beautiful Muncho Lake. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. The furniture is in need of replacement. The dining experience left much to be desired. Poor staff.
Very nice property on beautiful Muncho Lake! Dinner was great, German cuisine well done! Internet was so so. It we are in the Yukon!
This Lodge is in a lovely location...so peaceful and beautiful. The staff was amazing in accommodating our pet when we were unaware that we were supposed to contact the property before showing up with him. Dinner was amazing!
So overpriced!
This place is so overpriced! We stayed there twice, on our way to Whitehorse and on the way back. The first night was like staying in a sauna! They gave us a fan but it didn’t help much. We couldn’t fall asleep for a long time. I was trying to cool off my kids with a wet towel. We tried to open the window but the customers on the restaurant’s patio were very loud and our room was just above the patio. There are no fridges in the rooms. They are so basic for $300! The food is also pricey and very mediocre. Next year, we’ll be planning our trip differently so we can avoid staying at the lodge at all costs. Don’t let the beautiful scenery fool you!
We rented a cabin here for the night. Not only was the view beautiful, but the inside was nice and spacious, and clean! The cabin has 3 sized queen beds in it, perfect for my family of 4. Although, the food options they have are a bit on the pricier side.... it was decent. The lake is a really beautiful site to see. My family and I walked up and down the lake, skipping rocks, and just having a fun time taking in the views.
Choose something else if you can
It’ll do in a pinch but do not recommend, it was gross, stinky, & way too expensive for what you’re getting
It turned out to be a check-in nightmare. I was told at check-in that my booking reservation and info provided through Expedia wasn’t reflected in their (Northern Rockies Lodge) computer. We had requested a pet friendly room (which is listed in the Expedia email invoice confirmation), but I was told they did not have any more pet friendly rooms available in their main lodge.
Beautiful lakeside location, close to the hot springs. Very helpful staff, good food and just walking by the lake is peaceful and awesome. They offer lots of fishing and fly out options.
Beautiful location
The location is amazing and the reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained, but too hot. Even with the patio door open the was no ventilation. The kitchen below the room was very noisy, even beyond the declared quiet time of 11:00 pm
Absolutely beautiful
Hidden gem. Exception food.
From checking in to just wanting to ask a simple question, we always had to WAIT long amounts of time in the line in the lobby to speak to the front person. More staff at the front desk is seriously needed as folks arrive exhausted from a long day's drive and just want to get settled, NOT stand in a long line. Marketing of this place was fancier than it really was. Everything is so expensive and limited eating options. This place isn't for middle class folks, unfortunately for those who can't afford it. It's hyped up more than what is offered for our room.
Everything
Log cabin feel with a nice clean room
Property was clean and the staff was very courteous. Noise from outside the room was a little loud at times. Restaurant staff was prompt and effective.
Amazing place! Loved it
Location, location, location
Just very beautiful place to be. Stay was amazing.
I love the Northern Rockies Lodge. I want to come back and go on one of their fly out fishing trips. The young lady that met us at the front counter was super nice and super great. If you found my wife's Adidas sweatshirt, I'd be willing to pay for the shipping upon return. Chris
Beautiful place to relax and enjoy the views
Very helpful staff
Very friendly and helpful staff
The check in was easy, beautiful log construction, comfy beds, nice views.
The area is majestic and so beautiful! Worth the trip. Hotel was great clean friendly excellent food and friendly servers
Just stayed one night on our drive to Alaska. Nice place, good food. Gives a discount on Gas if you stay.
Very traditional lodge setting. Very expensive.
Beautiful lodge, staff was very helpful, professional and friendly. Food was excellent.
Absolutely loved this property! It was clean, and check in was easy. The property is a beautiful setting and loved the balcony!!! The restaurant was clean, good food. We ate our dinner before we arrived but the prices looked normal for that part of the country. We did enjoy breakfast there before getting on the road and it was good. Would totally recommend this property. Only thing I wish they had a coffee maker in the room, I am an early riser and would have so much enjoyed that first cup sitting on the balcony!!!
My grandson and I stayed 1 night at the hotel while traveling the Alcan highway. This is a unique log cabin family owned and operated property. The nightly rate is in line with other properties in the area but is for 1 guest. An additional fee is charged for a second guest even though the room has 2 beds. The beds are comfortable but only have a fitted sheet, pillow cases and a comforter. No flat sheet. No coffee maker in the room. The front steps to the hotel are not well lit. The staff is friendly and detail oriented. Except for issues noted above I would have given the property a 5 star rating.
We stayed in the hotel part of the lodge (not a cabin) and each room was nice and comfy. While there was no elevator, the staff was ready to help us when needed. The breakfast is worth the price - it tasted like it was small batch cooking and was delicious as was the service. I would stay here again and try a cabin bc they looked very nice too.
Very nice lodge.
Great area and a very beautiful hotel. We had dinner in the hotel. It was great but l think just to expensive. Breakfast is almost 30 dollars with tax. I wish it was included.
Great
Room was very hot. The beds were extremely uncomfortable with nothing but a comforter and no sheets, and dirty!
Super slow sketchy internet. Dinner menu for 1 $67.00 no choice. Takeout minimum $30 for just burger.
Wonderful area.
A beautiful location, wonderful service, and a perfect getaway!
Just amazed by this place. It was so beautiful. Right on the lake! The sea planes are in the back of the lodge. Friendly people, great food and overall just an amazing place to stay. Mineral Lick hiking trail is right down the road. You can fill up on gas at the lodge. It is a must see on the Alcan Highway!!!
Super nice lodge. Buffet breakfast should be complimentary… but it’s not unfortunately. Lodge is super nice.quality of food, not so much
I liked the log cabin feel of the hotel. Beautiful view of the lake. Room was very comfortable. Beds and shower were amazing. Internet not so good.
Was a beautiful place! For the price of the stay, it would have been nice if services were offered before 8. We had to be on the road by 6 and we couldn't get coffee or gas so that was a huge disappointment.
Room small and cramped.
Excellent stay in the wilderess. Friendly staff, easy parking, comfortable, clean rooms, great food.
Sara at check in was AMAZING! Very warm, friendly and knowledgeable! Very nice place, clean! Food options are a bit limited and a bit pricey but hey you are in the Yukon. Burger was fantastic and worth the price! Ashley in dining was also AMAZING!
This place is beautiful. My room was very clean, which was wonderful. The lobby is not air conditioned and felt like a sauna (I stayed in May). The room was semi cool until the sun came up. Then it became miserable. They really should have proper ac since some folks have problems with heat. The staff were all helpful and seemed nice, but I really disliked when they spoke German (I believe) to each other in front of me. I consider that extremely rude. Also a mini fridge would be nice for travelers passing through. This is a destination stay, not for folks looking for a bed for the night. They are right on Muncho Lake and have many touristy options available, which is great for folks who want that. If you have AT&T, you might not be able to text or call using their wireless. I have no idea why. They were kind and let me use their front desk phone to let my loved ones know I was safely at my destination for the day since I was traveling alone through Canada with wildfires, floods, etc, but it was a time suck and a hassle. Stay for a few days, enjoy their food, walk to the lake if you're on vacation. Stay someplace else if you want comfort and are just passing through.
This is an epic property worth checking out
Beautiful and very clean property!! Staff is friendly and very professional!! This place is amazing!!
Amazing
Northern Rockies Lodge was very accommodating and the staff was extremely helpful. The location is beautiful and very close to the hot springs.
I have been stopping here since 1991, I plan my trips to Alaska and back around this stop! Nearby hot springs seal the deal!
Great place, very welcoming, staff was outstanding Sarah and Ken were so friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel at home.
We were traveling the Alaskan Hwy in November and in a hurry and this was a convenient place to stay. We saw bison just after leaving and were happy it was daylight.
Amazing!
Was a quick overnight for us as we traveled to the Yukon. The service was amazing and our room was very clean and comfortable. The scenery was so beautiful!!! Will 100% be back.
Beautiful and quiet stop.
This is a beautiful property! Everything is clean and accessible. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We loved the place.
Beautiful setting, and a fabulous dinner cooked by the host!
Gorgeous lodge and property. The walk to the lake the next morning was so worth it!!!!
Nice place but way over priced: $65 for dinner for one
The lake and surrounding area is beautiful. The lodge is unique in its build. The restaurant is extremely pricey. Unfortunately the walls are not sound proof. We could hear the tv playing above us all night, and people in the hallways.
Enjoyed my stay
Most staff are not friendly except for the breakfast lady who was awesome. Property is nice, room has shampoo and soap. Would be nice to have lotion, conditioner. When we came, they mentioned that we have to make reservations to dine in at the resto, or we can order take out, which offers burger and sandwiches, we’re not keen on. They had a dinner special worth $64, with appys, main and dessert. There’s only 2 of us, and we’re not big eaters, we booked a dinner reservation to dine in at the resto. We’ve ordered a beer and a glass of wine, and asked if we can order a pot roast (special) and just split it. We didn’t want to waste food. The server said that in order to do that, we’ll need to order an appy or dessert. So I said we’ll just order one of the special which comes with both, but not bother with the appy. But he said he technically need to charge one special per person, even if we cannot finish it, unless we order one special and order an extra appy or dessert. He said there are cooks working in the kitchen and this is the reason that they cannot split the meal. I was so confused but found out indirectly, that they don’t serve ala carte? Then why have a menu? I supposed if he said that there’s an extra charge to split the meal then I would be amenable to that, but to order an extra appy or dessert in addition to the set meal didn’t make sense. Anyway, we just paid for our drinks and left. He basically just gave our bill, took our money, gave the change without a word.
The screen door in our room was ripped, making it difficult to sleep in the room with the door open, debate between mosquitos or being hot. It was hot. We were on the side of the road, which was very noisy, trucks. The hotel is under staffed, and they are helpful. Restaurant take out is done by the hotel front desk. Still the best place to stay between fort Nelson and Watson lake
Nice staff, nice setting Only internet is slow which is understandable at that location
In the mountains
Rooms and cabins are great clean and comfortable
Friendly staff and helpful. Comfortable stay
Pros and cons
Beautiful Lodge and comfortable room. Food very pricey and WiFi not working. Check in and take out food desks ought to be separated for better efficiency.
An enjoyable stay.
Great front desk staff and easy check-in. Waiter at breakfast was great too.
The room was small but adequate. The restaurant, we were told was fully booked for the evening but most of the tables were empty all night. The Wi-Fi was “limited” to text and email but, my iPhone could not connect. No coffee in the room, no coffee in the lobby prior to the 7AM continental breakfast. The images of pool activities on their web page is a Provincial Park some 58 Kilometers away. I do believe the only way the place stays in business is their web based clientele, it can’t have anything to do with returning customers.
Outstanding place well kept and well tended to. I hope the owners know how valuable the manager Kararina (I think that’s her name) is, they are short of personnel and this lady is wearing different hats and she does it with a smile.
The Lodge is beautiful and the views of Muncho Lake are stunning!!! The restaurant's food was wonderful! My stay here was the highlight of my trip up the Alaska Highway!!!
Staff was very friendly and the building itself is gorgeous! Would have loved more food options with a lower price tag, just a few things that are quick and simple, even for the kiddos b/c it's hard to justify a lot of money for kids meals when you don't even know if they'll end up eating it.
A beautiful place with a great staff
Only one good thing was the building. No coffee maker in the room , no fridge in the room, no sink in the bathroom.
This time of year was beautiful. We enjoyed the sauna and walks out on the lake.
Awesome
This is a must stay place, beautiful
The Rockies are breathing taking & the people are wonderful! Great stay here!!!
